| Here it was, the border. After wandering about for a few days he decided which of the two territories he would join. This one, for whatever reason, called out to him. Something about the chilling effect it sent off attracted him to it. He knew he wanted to stay in these lands, it was just a matter of where. And now he had made his decision. Iris wasn't here to cloud his thoughts and actions. It was him, and him alone. He felt as if he would find himself here, grow to be who he truly was and is. By the feeling of the territory, he could tell they weren't all sweet and nice. No, that was the other pack. Whatever it might be called. This one seemed more violent, risky, and exciting. And with his hardened personality he believed that it was where he was meant to go. His journey will hopefully come to a close this day.
He padded along the border thinking. Not notifying his presence or anything along those lines. Just thinking. What exactly? Nothing extreme or out of sorts. Just working out how he will get by if he is refused acceptance. He had no clue exactly how strict they were when accepting new members. Some were completely careless and others.. well they made it seem nearly impossible. He let out a quiet chuckle. He'd heard stories along his journey of how nerve wracking it could be, some even fall completely under pressure that they can't think of anything to say. They just stood there mouth's agape and vocal cords making stuttered words to the point where they were just gibberish. I will not fall into that state here... he told himself. Coming to a halt he turned to face the border and tilted back his head. His jaws parting as he pushed out a howl from deep within his chest. Someone would definitely hear it And if no one came today... he'd try again the next. |

| Lean, trained legs traveled across the ground, gait smooth, as if floating, or being tugged at by a magnetic pull. An elegant muzzle, filled with rows of sharp, potentially dangerous knives, ready to be revealed and put to use at any moment, should a threat appear. Claws remained unsheathed, gripping into the ground with each steps, giving her a firm hold and strong stance. Her ears perked forward, stretching upwards to the sky, long legs holding her torso up as her tail curled slightly, showing anyone who dare come to the Border, whether to seek admittance or to foolishly invade the pack not to try to mess with her. She would stand her ground until death, but not be so foolish as to not call upon the pack if the need arose. One wolf could not topple a group, it wasn't something that could be done. Cold, hostile orbs gazed forward, glowing in comparison to an obsidian pelt as a backdrop. Eyes would scan everything, looking and listening for movement, smelling for any unidentified scents. A passing breeze tugged lightly on her fur before disappearing, a serene sensation.
As she followed the Borderline, the long, powerful song of a masculine reached her ears, audits turning up in curiosity. Riveting backwards on her skull, she stopped to listen, until the deep cry ended. Tail raising, she made her way to the edge of the territory, following the fresh scent of a brute, standing along the territory. Her eyes narrowed slightly, staring blankly at him before blinding, a neutral gaze portrayed once again. To some extent, he reminded her of her long dead brother, Zanmitay. However, his eyes reflected hers just a slight bit more, adding a sliver of grayish-silver in, which stood out at night, reminiscent of her own. Approaching him, tail curved over her spine and ears alert atop her head, she locked eyes with the male, daring him to say something stupid right off the bat. "You have approached the Pack of Erenyx, Lead by the Brute called Teren, answered by I, Delta Ariste. Do you have a reason for doing so, that I should not kill you for?" She said, femininely deep voice given a gruff, commanding undertone, but nothing about her said aggressive, as there was no need to be yet. She stared intensely at him, awaiting an answer with cold, soulless eyes. |

| The wait was short until one arrived. As a matter of fact he thought she had watched him for a moment or two before approaching. The fan's pelt was much like his ebony one. Each dark in color that was as dark as the night sky when there was no moon. Her gaze remained emotionless as she gazed upon him, showing neither interest or distaste. It would and will be rather difficult to imagine what she could be thinking inside that pretty little head of her's. Though he guessed it was none of his business to know what was going on with her day to day life, and he wasn't all that interested in knowing it. He was here for one reason and one reason only. Two join. And she, "Delta Ariste" as she said her name was, was here for one reason as well. To interrogate him as he stood ready to join among the rankings.
With a polite dip to the head as custom he displayed his respect and submission to the no doubt high ranked. She was there for a reason and he would be as stupid as a duck if he were to not realize that. Resting his gaze on her own orbs like she had done to his own he raised his head properly. Keeping mind to keep it lower than she held her's, as his tail remained still behind his hinds. "Greetings, Delta Ariste. My name is Desoto, and I have an interest as to join your pack, Erenyx, here." His tone was deep but respectful. His eyes like the vixen keeping a stone-hard expression as always. For a moment he wondered if it would ever come falling down, perhaps it might. Though he doubted it would for all wolves, maybe just a few. "I understand that there are questions that you probably need to ask, so please, ask away m'lady. And I will answer as to my best ability with the amount of sincerity that I can offer towards it." He took in a breath, calming his mind to be prepared for her questioning. Like he promised before, he would not fall under the pressure. |

| Ariste stood in silence, staring expectantly at the male before her. She had already predicted his answer, nevertheless she had to inquire formally. Winds tugged impatiently at her fur, catching a few hairs and sending them astray. Inhaling slowly, she memorized the obsidian masculine's scent, filing it in the back of her head for the future, also taking stock of his appearance. Once again, as always when responding to border requests, intelligent, observant eyes would flicker over the wolf's frame, taking a mere second to recognize the obvious muscles concealed by long fur, and a trained stature. She would wait until he ceased speaking before saying anything in return. "Indeed, I have questions I require you to answer. Though I care not, personally, where do you hail from? Why would you be of any use to this pack, that I should not kill you?" She questioned, vaguely uninterested in their conversation. He did not bring anything special in her eyes, perhaps he simply needed some motivation. Her golden hued eyes sparkled as she pushed false anger into them, joints and muscles stiffening tensely in faux agression. "And, boy, I suggest you show more respect than that around your superiors. Had any other found you, you surely would have already been beaten into submission and begging for your life to be ended. Respect is hard earned, and commanded to be given, so it would not be wise to step out of line." Her tone was hostile yet quiet, as yelling words did not make them any more threatening than whispering them. Her tone held command, as she glared at him, slipping further into her act, gaze icy. Her frame stood as a black splotch against an array of color, bright eyes fiery. "Speak quickly, the day is not eternal, and I have things to attend to." |

| As the vixen spoke, the brute thought of his answer. Where did he hail from? That's simple. And what could he offer? Well that was a little bit more complex. She seemed cool and collected while she asked her first question, but just as he was about to speak her eyes blazed with what seemed like anger. Herbed quickly tensing to seem more aggressive. The change was too quick and sudden for it to be fully meaningful and true. She would have shown signs before. Fore a moment he head tilted to the side a barely noticeable smirk forming on his lips as he listened. His eyes portraying interest and a hint of slight confusion. She spoke softly and that was what intimidated him the most about her. Whispered words worked better then yelling them at times. It made the other, or him in his case, listen closely and catch every single word spoken. By the end of it she had spoken of the day, about how their time was ticking slowly. The sun would not last forever, and he guessed she did not wish to be out here by the time it set.
Returning his head to it's normal position he let out a small chuckle. From what she'd said his assumptions were correct. This pack was most likely a violent one, not that he had a problem with that. "So that's how it is done here eh? All business and aggression. I see.." He spoke normally but his eyes were closed, as if he were thinking something over. He stood like that for a moment longer before he raised his lids and looked upon the fae. "Not that I have a problem with that. Where I came from? I don't see how it matters much, but if it is important to your pack as a border question, I shall answer it. Miles away from here is my answer. From a pack that was at war with another. War is all I've known. From the day I was born till the day I left. But by then the battle was over with the packs. But I was still at war with myself." He shifted on his paws. Placing his weight on his left side in a sort of swaying motion. "My thoughts were jumbled and confused and I did not belong. The pack I was in was all too friendly for me. Like the other one here I suppose. But you and your pack interest me. The aura your territory holds spikes the side of me I've been trying to figure out, and I believe I can and will find it here." He wasn't sure what the vix would make up of it and he guessed he would soon find out. However he was not sure if he wanted to go into more detail with it if she asked. Instead he continued with what he could offer. Probably the most important thing that would be answered. "As for what I can offer you and your Erenyx, it's fairly simple. I will devote myself to your causes and shall offer my loyalty. From the looks and sounds of you that I have seen, this pack is much more strict and disciplined than most. I will be strong for your leader and will carry out orders see fit. That is my personality you see. Fierce and loyal. However if the tables turn and my trust here is broken, you may never see me amongst the rankings. And I hope that does not happen, Miss. For it would be a shame for me to leave such an offering land. Not for you perhaps, but to myself, and frankly I do not see the other territory to be under consideration. In fact, I would be damned if I ever joined them." |

| A small smile of sorts curved the corner of the vixen's lips upward, though she hid it with a small snarl. She listened to his words, ears twitching and ready to detect any signs of falsity in truthfulness. She could sense none, and found herself despising him slightly less than all the others she had allowed to walk over the borderline. For the first time in a long while, a mischievous smirk quirked her lips upward, and she made no attempt at covering it. However, it was shown with malice, unmerciful and humourless, almost a warning. As dual-toned eyes glowered down into similar coloured, she allowed herself to mull over his words, stepping forward and purposely invading his space. "It is well that you are not a weakling of little value to us, for War is what we verge on, but has not yet occurred. You have no place here if you do not know how to defend yourself and others, and if you do not know your place." With steely eyes, she continued on telling him of what he would encounter. "You are to respect all others, and if you wish to earn respect in turn, everyone shall be your superior until deemed otherwise. I will place you as a Warrior in our ranking, and if you fail to accomplish your duties, you will be disposed of. A pack is only as strong as its weakest member." Stepping back, she moved enough to allow him to venture into the territories. "And I should hope you have no ideas of joining the pups of Helidos while I allow you into that that is Erenyx. Do not make me regret this, Warrior Desoto." Shooting him a last glare before turning and stalking off, the darkness of the shade of the trees enveloped her, paws crushing the colourful leaves that stood in her path. Her ears pushed forward once again as she continued her stroll along the line that separated the Erenyx from all others.
