| The weak sunlight did little to penetrate the thick fog that permanently resided in these lands. A large dark form emerged from the thick grey curtain and bounded onto a large fallen boulder where small rays of sun managed to weakly hit his dark fur and bathe it in a light shade of yellow. From here you could see the perfectly blue sky, stretching out as far as one could see. The only thing disturbing the perfect stretch of azure being the occasional wisp of white. Funny how such a uniquely beautiful thing could be found above such a place of darkness and death. A soft chuckle accompanied his deep exhale as he turned to leap back down into the fog, things like the sky wasn't exactly the type of thing he was attracted to but you'd be a fool to pretend it did not hold any beauty. Large paws hit the flat rock with a muted thud as he gave his silver optics a moment to adjust to the sudden change in brightness.
After blinking for a few moments the Delta could finally make out the form of the satisfying piece of prey he had managed to haul back from the mission he had asked Teren to let him go on. Flicking his long tail he padded over to the deer, a male too. Old and had been injured too but still they were not to be underestimated and Caspian suspected it could have cracked a bone or two in his ribs with a frenzied but feeble attempt of a kick but Caspian did admit he had underestimated the creature's strength despite the state it had been in. Slight pain still shot through him when breathing and the Delta let out a frustrated growl, how he hated having to seek help from a healer. It was hard to resist the temptation to make a meal of the creature and hunger clawed at his stomach but it was something he'd gotten used to and could live with due to living so long as a loner. Still though, the scent was such a temptation….Shaking his head he turned away, best save it for his brother and try get further on the male's good side, right?
Running his tongue over yellowed fangs, the older male leaned back on his haunches. He made sure not to stray forward too far as it was impossible to tell exactly where the fatal drop was that had claimed so many lives and given the place its name. He knew his brother would come find him here eventually, it was only a matter of time before he would arrive. Caspian had not really wanted to go on a mission to help his brother and thank him for giving him the rank of Delta and accepting him into the lands of Erenyx, no of course not. Caspian had merely wanted to get away for a while, get a look at the land surrounding the three packs and try and plan without getting disturbed. In the end he decided what was needed was numbers, some members of this pack were protective when it came to defending Teren, why? He had no idea, it wasn't as if his brother was exactly affectionate or anything but he'd need others to take on Teren's defendants while he took down the demon himself.
Smirking the wolf lowered himself down even further until he was lying comfortably, pulling over an old whitened stick lazily and gnawing at it, fangs crunching through the wood satisfyingly as he awaited the alpha's arrival. |

| Days had passed since the real changes in Erenyx. Teren was proud of himself, of the fools who played in his little game. He could tell there was a building animosity among the pack. Their hate would be useful in taking Helidos out for good. Surely they would not be dumb enough to watch Chiara stand up and Samael, to their Alpha and both be defeated, to turn around and challenge him as well. The old Alpha knew no more should oppose him. But in all the glory that was achieved over the last few days, he knew something was missing. Having sent him on a journey, a quest, Caspian missed all the fun. Teren knew the day that he would return home and the two brothers, the powerhouses of Erenyx, would meet. Did he truly care for his brother’s accomplishments? No, not in the least. But he did care if it gave him something he truly wanted. None of the wolves in these lands knew what Teren truly desired. None knew the one thing he really wanted. The great Alpha moved from his den, not seeing a wolf in sight. Perhaps they were all so depressed that they could all starve themselves to death. He could care less. As he wandered to the place of the bloodshed, he closed his eyes and allowed his senses to take him forward. The large wolf listened to everything around him. His eyes were shielded from the fog, but his nose replayed the history of this area. The moisture in the air, the humidity, these things worked together to stop it from drying completely. He loved the smell of blood. The taste, the iron, the feel of it on his tongue. It was the best experience of his life, killing. As he felt the stone beneath his pads, his green eyes opened. You could see the blood spewed across the ground. He smiled to this display. He wandered over towards the edge, unable to see the bottom. As he peered over, he could hear the gnawing of bones. He turned his eyes to the direction of the sound. His head lifted and he stared upon his ashen-coated brother. Caspian. Again his smile appeared on his features. He slowly walked over to his brother and stood beside him, watching him devour the remains of a carcass he had caught himself. ”Caspian, I see you have returned a little later than I had expected. Tell me of your journey. Did you find what you were looking for?” |

| Really he should have stood at the sight of his brother as although they were kin the large dark male was still his alpha. However his injury was starting to cause him a bit more bother and Caspian decided to blow it off by staying in his laying position yet giving a respectful nod in Teren's direction. "Greetings, brother." He huffed, spitting out the completely shattered stick and pushing it away with a flick of his large paw. The fog had cleared only slightly however it was enough to see that the dark lush grass was stained red and a frown became present on his lips- that was an awful lot of blood, what had he missed? His attention returned the midnight pelted male with the piercing green eyes- meeting them with his steady silver gaze. As Teren smiled Caspian returned it with one of his own, deciding to try a sitting position. He pushed himself up, he'd let the injured muscles grow stiff when lying and they protested at the movement, making him huff but otherwise show no signs of pain. It wasn't too bad, he'd definitely suffered worse, just.....irritating.
At the words his brother spoke Caspian simply shrugged his shoulders before speaking- he hadn't bothered with planning out what he would say as there wasn't really much need- he went hunting, quite an easy lie to tell. And actually, he glanced over at the dead antlered deer- not even much of a lie either. Returning his piercing gaze to meet that of his brother's the Delta spoke. "It was grand I suppose, I mean I found what I was looking for.." With that he openly nodded in the direction of the fallen beast before turning back "For you by the way, thought I'd show you my gratitude for accepting me into your pack as your Delta." A dip of the head accompanied by a warm smile before he got back to his story "I took it down by myself, it was old yes and in a weakened state but it would be impossible for a singular wolf no matter how skilled to take down one of those at full health. Even in a state they are not to be underestimated and I do admit I got a bit cocky myself and the dratted thing got me in the ribs." He shifted slightly to glance at where it had hit him and winced slightly before giving his head a sharp shake, it was probably just bruised or at the most cracked.
"I could not resist exploring the nearby lands and I must say there was some impressive places to see- I wandered a bit further then I originally intended to but I guess being a loner so long made traveling certain distances seem shorter then they really were" He blinked, gaze shifting to the impenetrable wall of fog- impossible to tell where the land would end beneath your paws and you would fall to a nasty death on the rocks far below. "I had not realized another pack had been created in these lands." He blinked, turning back and unable to hide the slight curiosity in his eyes. "Any idea who started it and where they came from? I hear the leader was not originally a part of these lands but the majority if not all his pack members either come from Helidos or Erenyx" He sat in the grass- damp from the cloud of fog swirling around the two brutes- dark both inside and out. |

| "You always were the most foolish of our litter. Second to Thatcher, of course." The old male snickered as he thought of the night he and Reaper had killed their little brother. It was always something Teren had been so happy for. It was a life that he had always wished to continue with. If he could kill the rest of his brothers, it would prove that ultimately, he was the best of the litter. Wherever Lyonitus, Baritos, and Reaper had run off to, Teren was now Alpha. But Caspian was just his lowly Delta. He had noticed the pains in his brother, and knew this wolf surely was too cocky for his own good. Had he actually tried to train and learn, then perhaps he would have been able to actually leave this hunt without a scratch against his pelt. "This new pack you speak of, it belongs to that of a Rogue. The fool decided to play a little game and cross my borders. I don't know the details of what he did or why he did it, but his horrid stench rested on the lands within my borders. He did not go far, but it was enough for my distaste. He is lucky I didn't catch him doing it. But yes, members from our pack have disappeared. Though there is only one wolf, I wish to find dead or alive. Samael, the bastard pup of the previous Alpha. While you were taking your time, being away from your duties dear brother, I forced the young wolves to fight one another, a battle royal, you could say. The little losers killed one another in cold blood, right before the eyes of the whole pack. Just like the good 'ole days. The little wolves had no idea what to do, but soon found only two remained alive. The Beta fae, Chiara decided she could not handle such a thing and she tried to stop it. It spurred an uprising within the soul of the young Samael and he too stood up to me. I commanded Irrationality to handle to Beta fae, while I myself attacked Samael. I am sure as the sun is bright that he is dead. I cracked a few ribs of his and no wolf would be stupid enough to treat a wolf who has committed treason. As for the previous Beta, she is now a Warrior. She submitted to my will like a fae in heat. She hung on my every word and even rolled onto her back, collecting the blood of her loved ones. I wish you could have been here to see it."
The blood rushed to his nostrils and he looked to the kill. It was a gift for Caspian's lord, his brother. Was Teren a wolf to deny such a gift? No. He moved over to the kill and grabbed the tender neck with his powerful maw. His eyes closed as he thrashed his head from side to side. Finally he ripped a chunk of meat from the bone and devoured it. He continued to do this, working his way from the top of the body to the end. He feasted on the kill until his belly was full, making him lose his tapered appearance. The muscular wolf licked his maw, running his tongue over teeth and lips. He lifted his eyes to his brother and spoke in a somewhat silent tone. If any wolves had come to visit them, he would not want them to hear the words he was about to speak. "And what, dear brother, did you discover of Azrael?" It had been a long time since the brute had even mentioned the name aloud. Was this young brute even alive anymore? Was he nearby? Teren did not know, but he hoped that his foolish brother had been able to accomplish something of worth. |

| Caspian simply stood in silence as his brother spoke, refusing to be affected by the taunting words springing from his jaws. He would not give the large brute the satisfaction of getting to prove his dominance and put him in his place if he reacted negatively to any words thrown at him. He would not take the bait and instead simply smirked, lips twitching upwards and tips of fangs becoming visible. "Ah but brother I am a changed wolf am I not? I still find you of course the most dominant and worthy of leadership of us all but when all our brothers fled a little while after your taking over of our birth pack I did not as I knew you knew what you were doing." He stated, words strong and steady yet filled with respect. He missed holding the rank of Alpha in his former successful pack and having to obey his brother frustrated him but he kept these thoughts completely hidden and none would have any clue that he was not completely loyal to the alpha of these lands. One day he would slay this beast and show who the real ruler of these brothers was. As the old brute snickered, he could see his green orbs glittering cruelly- no doubt was he remembering the killing of their younger brother. As the alpha's calculating gaze was fixed on him and especially his injured area, Caspian merely raised a brow. He did not favor his injured side at all, the pain it held was nothing he could not deal with and he would not let it weaken him. The fog swirled around his paws as he leaned back on his haunches and curled his tail neatly over large ashen paws. Ears perked forward with interest as finally Teren got around to answering his questions. He once again remained oblivious to the occasional snide remark thrown in like as to how he had been taking his time away from the pack, away form his duties. He frowned thoughtfully, interest perking at the mention of Steele's son and he made a mental note to meet up with the young brute some day- he could come in handy. "Interesting, though I cannot see a pack being led by a rogue being too successful or becoming any sort of threat to us. Rogue's can be very..unpredictable, not a very good trait to use in leading a pack unless you knew what you were doing." He murmured, silver gaze shining. Dropping the subject of the new pack, he moved on to the other things that had happened while he had been away. "I doubt the young brute will be a problem, he is blinded by rage- too foolish to be careful. Plus you have much more experience and you're a much larger and stronger brute than him. He wouldn't stand a chance. And what a shame, I would have loved to have seen such a fight. At least now we can be satisfied that the pack's next generation only has strong worthy wolves. And good, I could not see a female lasting as a beta for any length of time. The thought of proper power just gets to the poor things and drives them to do crazy things, foolish creatures..I will make sure to stick around, don't want to miss anymore fun." He chuckled, tongue dragging itself over yellowed fangs.
As his brother ripped in to the gift without a word of thanks as expected, Caspian had to resist jumping in and claiming some of the prey as his own. No, he did not fancy getting his head bitten off so he sat in silence- averting his gaze from the large brute and instead focusing on where he suspected the fatal drop was located but it was hard to tell, the fog seemed a lot denser today than usual. He turned as his brother spoke again, voice much quieter and almost softer. His ears pinned back against his head and he felt frustration spark at him, nothing he could do would ever make the alpha value him or any of his siblings more than that damn wolf. "Why would I have any idea of Azrael's whereabouts? He left, Teren." Caspian snapped, hint of a growl mixed in as his tail lashed across the damp grass- silver eyes glittering coldly. In a second though, he had calmed and was submitting before the brute in seconds- mentally cursing himself for losing it. He had to be more careful dammit! After a few moments he pushed himself back into a sitting position, head bowed. "I am sorry brother, as you know I was an alpha before finding your pack and am not as used to holding my tongue as I had once been. It will not happen again, I assure you. As for Azrael..I have yet to discover anything to do with the young brute. I was not in lands I think he would have any reason to go to though, if it would be what you wished dear brother, I could give the area's a check for him someday." He dipped his head, gaze thoughtful. Despite letting his guarded personality slip which had been a dangerous mistake, at least he had given Teren some idea that despite respecting him he also had some spirit worth his time. Teren's brother was a strong wolf with dominance but was completely loyal to the large alpha and respected him, quite a handy thing to have. Of course the loyalty and respect part was a lie, but the old brute didn't know that. Caspian remained seated, silver orbs fixed on the monster before him- awaiting a response may it be negative or positive, though he already had a pretty good idea as to what it would be. |

| "Your sarcasm is not needed... brother..." He spoke as he tore more and more into the meal. He was not into the sarcasm, and never had been. He knew his brother did not truly feel that way. Every wolf in their bloodline wanted that spot, and some were even jealous he had gotten it over the rest. What could he say? He was more wanting of the title, the power, and all that came with it. "This rogue is of no threat to us. Their pack will crumble, and maybe someday we will take their lands as our own. That would be worthwhile, and maybe someday I will resort the pack to the old ways. In those days, faes didn't have a voice, much less anything else but their taint and pups in my pack. If I had established this from the start, then that bitch would not have had the chance to stand up to me... She would have been killed once the young were old enough to eat for themselves. If only I had done so.." He lifted his gaze to Caspian as he began to speak about the young male. "Yes, you missed a good one. It was no challenge to me, of course, but it was rather fun. I only wish his sister would have been here to see it, or the whore who loved his father. That would have been perfect. But we do not always get what we wish for in life, do we brother?" Teren spoke in a low tone, his eyes staring straight at Caspian. Soon his brother would speak, and speaking out of place. It was not the way he said it or the words he used. It was more so in his body language. Teren could tell that this question irritated him. He knew that Azrael was not a pack favorite. If anything was accurate about the lad, it was that every wolf hated him, jealous of him. He couldn't blame them. Everything was about Azrael the Sinister. "It is a simple request Caspian. It appears that old nose of yours is no longer doing you justice. I bet if Reaper or Lyonitus were here, they could get my request accomplished. I bet they could do it within a month's time as well," he scoffed to his brother. Anything Teren could do to make him feel lesser of a wolf, he was going to play at it. "I would even go so far to say that my treacherous whore mate could complete the task if I had asked her to." He gave a domineering smirk to his brother, trying to ruffle his fur and cause the wolf to attack him. "I want Azrael found and I want him brought to me.... Alive... Do I make myself clear?" he asked with a growl as it escaped from clenched teeth. This thread starts the post count. |

| He watched through narrowed eyes as the old brute spoke, tail flicking from side to side across the damp grass. His upper lip was curled slightly and muscles were tensed beneath his ashen pelt- fighting the urge to tear the life from the smug bastard right now but no, he had to be clever, had to be patient. So instead he simply sat, glowering as the alpha stood above him with a malice filled gaze of piercing green. He had decided to not bother with replying to anything else to do with the rogue pack, the former beta female, the fight or Steele's son..it was obvious this was not what Teren was really interested in so Caspian let the small talk drop- simply staring unwaveringly with those unique silver eyes. He was still crouched beneath the brute but he stared upwards and his tail flicked from side to side, he seemed to appear almost catlike. Tongue running thoughtfully over yellowed fangs, a soft growl rumbled in his throat at the alpha's taunting words. He knew it was what he wanted, he wanted Caspian to attack him, wanted a reason to put his brother in place properly but it was so damn hard not to react...Gritting his teeth he stood- almost as tall as his brother but there was still a little height difference between the two.
His eyes glittered dangerously and his ears lay pinned flat against his head. "Reaper and Lyonitus?" A sharp laugh escaped between his fangs. "They left ages ago. Got sick of Azrael, sick of the way you ruled things. I put up with it and I will again." His face was mere inches from Teren's though he made sure to keep his tail at a relaxed position much below where the alpha held his own and kept his posture loose. "I would have no reason to go searching for your precious Azrael if you didn't ask me to and have you? No. So why don't you, brother dear- tell me what duties you expect me to fill out because they seem to change an awful lot.." His eyes were hard and cold, as a youngster he had always been the most...decent of the brothers but such traits had been bet from the brute and he no longer would sit back and let Teren do his thing as he once did, this wolf did not deserve such a thing. He took another step closer so that there was little to no space between the two- smirk fixed on his maw as he refused to be ruffled by the words. "Shame you killed her, it would've been fun to see if those words held any truth in them.." He whispered before stepping back. Whatever doubts he had originally held about murdering his brother they were long gone, long burned from his very soul...oh how pleasant the thought of tearing the brute's throat had become and it was becoming harder and harder to wait for the right moment instead of just launching and attacking right away.
He could not care less, no. Let Teren choose other wolves as his toys and try to stir up old jealousy from his Delta because did Caspian care about the male's thoughts anymore? Heck no, once he actually wanted to be liked by his brother only because he cared..but such emotions had been squashed right out of him and good riddance, they were nothing but weakening. "I'll bring you back your favorite little toy if that is what you wish my dear brother, I mean why wouldn't I... That's what brothers do, right? They help eachother out.." With a grin he leaned back on his haunches, putting distance between the two once again. "I do doubt he'll come with me willingly though..I do not remember us ever getting along too well and to be honest I would never go somewhere with him if I was in his position." Pulling at the grass with a single claw- he watched the alpha closely as he awaited some movement from the massive brute. |

| "What's wrong brother? Don't want to fight me like we did when we were pups? I thought you would do better to stand up for yourself for once in your worthless life. You lay there as I lay insult after insult after you. You are more like father than I ever thought you were, a pathetic little worm. Do you know why I granted you the rank you hold? It was because I felt pity for you, a pity that you could not keep your life on track. You were an Alpha, so you say, of a pack before. But what happened to them all? Did they desert you? Did they see the error in your ways, your cowardice? You can't hide such things from others, they can sense it, smell it on your pelt. Only for the fact you are of my own flesh, do I not grant you the rank of Omega." Teren snarled as they stood so close to one another. If Caspian was to do anything, he would be ready. The Alpha stood tall, inches taller than his brother. His tail hung high over his back, waiting to see what his little brother would do. "As for Azrael, I never said he had to come willingly. If you could actually subdue him and drag him here, then there would be no problems. But if you can't even beat him, you might as well go walk yourself off a cliff. You'd be more use to me there than you are stealing my air." |

| Caspian's eyes flashed and in seconds he was on his paws- the space between the brothers reduced to mere centimeters. He stood at his tallest, anger alive within him at the brute's words. "I thought respect was one of your obsessive little things? I was only being a good boy..." He took another step forward so that his breath ruffled the alpha's fur. "You're a little idiot Teren you know that? I am not an idiot, I was not gonna leap at you and let you try and get some minion of yours to take care of me if I showed even the slightest chance of beating you. And obviously they did not leave me, as I have found out from living here, unlike your pack- the majority of mine actually liked me as a leader. It was a fire that took it and before you bother with a rant of how I should've bet this fire it's only a complete fool who'd try challenge Nature, the pack got torn apart. So I came here. But you are some fool Teren to fall for so much." A sharp laugh sounded from his maw. To be completely honest, he had not suspected the large brute to fall for the 'I am in awe of you master and am such a little submissive wolfie that I'll let you push me around and treat me like dirt' act as much as he did. However he did not go into any detail as to what exactly he spoke of the alpha falling for and nor did he intend on doing so. His upper lip curled to reveal yellowed fangs and his tail lashed, a growl rumbling deep inside his throat as the alpha snarled. "Have me as an Ally or an Enemy Teren, your choice..." He snarled, silver gaze blazing. "But if you are to underestimate me now then you are an absolute fool. More than I originally thought. I don't trust you enough to fight you because I can not believe you playing it out fairly if you thought for a moment that you life was at risk and I don't fancy fighting a whole group of your little minions as well. I am not suicidal." Standing at his full height before the alpha gave him much more height then he suspected Teren had ever seen him with, of course the alpha was still taller but that did not bother the Delta in the slightest.
"Oh sorry" He almost seemed to hiss. "I didn't know if you wanted you precious toy getting treated in any way but with my utmost respect and have him brought back like the little royal he is." The comment was just dripping with sarcasm and fury. "Don't worry brother dear, I do not intend on leaving the earth just yet...I have some unfinished business that needs doing first." He stated, corners of his maw pulled upwards in a feral grin as his claws pulled at the grass beneath him. Adrenaline already burned through him and he could feel his muscles tensed beneath his ashen pelt. It took some effort not to leap at the alpha now but he wouldn't, let the brute taunt away...it would not work. He would not take this bait. |

| "Correct. Respect is important when it needs to be shown to your Alpha. But Caspian, we are not just Alpha and Delta. No, you are my brother. Born from the same bitch as I was. You took your first breaths moments after I took my own. You were force-fed the same lifestyle as I was, the same training regime. Our father, though eventually grew to be a coward, he was no such thing when we were young. He taught us better. But perhaps it was only I who received this training. Perhaps you had been playing with butterflies when I was actively engaged in the words of our father. Whatever it may be dear brother, pull your head out of your rear and act like you have a pair. I may be King of these lands, but that gives you no reason to step down from my challenge." Teren glared at his brother, thinking over the words he wished to speak. This wolf would fight him. Maybe not today or tomorrow, but someday Teren would do something so malicious that he forced his brother's paw, that Caspian would have no other choice. Teren would bide his time for that day to come. But for now, he would allow the wolf to be at peace with his decisions. "I don't need my Beta to do my dirty work. I could have taken Chiara's life right then and there. I utilized my pawn as a way to show my true power in the pack. I turned him on his own members, his equal in rank. And if I were to fight you, I would not call upon my pawn for such a task. I would handle you myself. But I need not waste anymore of your time. As for the black brute, just get it done.." The Alpha looked at the dead carcass and then to his brother. "You can have the rest..." he said as he walked past Caspian and headed back into the pack clearing. With a final thought, he closed his eyes and paused. He turned his head and stared at his brother once more. "Have a pleasant day, won't you?" he said in a sarcastic tone. He turned his head back around, facing forward. Pressing on, he made his way back to camp.
Teren exits. |
