| Nyx was practically skipping with joy at having a new mentor. He had told her that he would follow her, but that didn't stop her from trying to get food again. Her stomach roared in hunger. Smelling along the ground some more, she caught the scent of yet another hare. She was still in the hunting grounds, so the food was plentiful.
As she reached the place of prey, the scents of creature hit the apprentice's small nose. The hare was close. It was probably so focused on finding food after a long winter's rest that it wouldn't notice her. Stalking silently towards it, Nyx focused solely on her prey. She was downwind, taking all of the advantages she could get. The ivory fae was desperate for food, but had never been taught the proper ways of hunting. Fighting was everything she had learned, but she couldn't even do that properly. Relying solely on surprise was how she fought, not being strong enough to an opponent head-on. There was barely any muscle on her small frame, and she was weaker than probably most of the wolves in this pack. Shaking her head, she focused back on hunting.
The hare was now in her sight, and still hadn't suspected of the ivory fae's presence. Its body was plump, probably because of how much food it was stuffing in its little mouth. Staying low to the ground, Nyx crept even closer to the small creature. It would be a great meal, probably lasting her a few hours. When she was close enough, Nyx crouched and prepared to spring. Leaping up, she darted towards her prey with bullet-like speed. The hare took off at equal speed, making Nyx increase her speed. The fae loved to run, so it was no problem for her. Running ever quicker, Nyx was practically on the hare's heels. Lunging forwards, Nyx bit into the soft fur of its neck and gave it a quick jerk. A thrill of success lit her face, proud that she would have something to show her mentor of her worth when he did come to find her. They lifeless prey now dangled from her jaws, but Nyx had payed no attention to her surroundings when she was giving chase. Looking up now, Nyx nearly gasped.
The water falls were the most beautiful thing she had ever seen, and the fae took it in with her different colored eyes. One was like the ocean sea, the other a bright amber. Both gazed at the waterfalls as if they were hypnotized. |

| Having dealt with the rude fae, he was tired of anymore issues that might come his way. He was ready to commence his training with the young fae. Trying to remember her name, he thought of her form. Her coat was much like that of Azul, but her name did not start with an "a". Her eyes were not like his either. She had two different hues of eye color. One eye was blue, while the other was brown. It was different, a selling point for the young fae. Any brute would be intrigued by that, but not he. Making his way from the hunting grounds, he followed her scent. He was not surprised when she came to the waterfall. It was a beautiful place, filled with falls and a large pool to capture it all. It was calm and peaceful, a place to find serenity or one's self. Small creatures came here for a fresh drink of cool water, or perhaps take a bath and make themselves clean. When his silver hues looked to the fae, he saw she had a kill. Shocking discovery, but also a good sign. While on the approach, he snickered. "I see you have done much better than before. Earlier we did not get a chance to speak. Have you had any formal training?" He waited for her reply, taking a seat as he did so. |

| Nyx was still gazing at the waterfall, hypnotized when the scent of her mentor laced her nose. She still didn't know why he had chosen to mentor her, but the young fae was honored. She couldn't wait to learn what he had to teach her, to be the best of her abilities. Her gaze remained on the beautiful falls as he came up next to her and sat down. Her ivory ears flickered towards him as he spoke, asking her a question. Blinking her different colored eyes, Nyx still did not look at her mentor. She wanted to know that he was respected, that she wouldn't challenge him. Keeping her gaze towards the ground, she spoke. "Yes, I have had some training. I realized that after watching others fight, I was not trained properly. As you already know, my experience with hunting is little. I was put on the front lines as a fighter and never had to worry about hunting." Even from a very young age, Nyx was put at the very front of battles because her old pack was so desperate for fighters. She was never even taught correctly and was lucky to be alive.
Gazing out at the falls, she remembered some of the battles she had gone through. In order to keep herself safe, Nyx had remained hidden most of the time. It was not that she didn't want to fight for her pack, it was that she didn't know how. Her memories flashed through her mind as the young fae sat, waiting to hear the words of her mentor. |

| For once the Beta actually cared what this fae had to say. She was young, but very brave. No other wolf had wanted to be anywhere near this brute and especially not alone. Just as his fur was black as sin, his heart and soul shared the same color. He was filled with anger and anxiety, mad at the world for everything and anything that had bothered him before. Steele took it out on the weak, hating them for having such an existence, curious as to how they survived all these long years. Azul for instance, five years old and yet, he was so weak. Would no other wolves come to find this hard truth? In the back of his mind, he continued to think, still actively listening to the fae. She may be worthless to him now, but with the proper training, he could have many uses for her in the future. "Before we start teaching you the proper ways to do certain things, I must admit I am rather curious of your history. How old are you? Seeming as you are so young, why did you leave your previous pack so early?" As he asked these questions, he thought more about the white fae with different eyes. What did she think of the Alpha? Of the other wolves in this pack? These were questions he would surely ask her, perhaps he would do it now, or wait for her replies. What if she enjoyed the Alpha though, then his training and hours of work would be lost and wasted on another weakling. Before thinking on it more, he asked "what do you feel of the Alpha?" |

| Nyx stood in front of her mentor, excited to be learning. The question he asked made her eager disappear, and she tensed up. Sitting down stiffly, her different colored eyes looked him over closely. "I left my birth pack, Mentor, because of a love that I refused to give. Because of my demon eyes, I hypnotized him. I fell directly into his trap, and he was furious at me for not giving him the love he had for me. I was too young, yet he wanted everything from me. I'm considered a pup wherever I go, and no one bothered to show the least bit about fighting or hunting. My old pack was like poison, and I am glad that I'm gone. Believe it or not, I cannot really hunt at all. I stole food from others as a loner. I survived with my ability to run, and that is all. "
She looked at Steele, plopping down like a pup. Nyx looked for his reaction, a smile back on her face. The small fae was trying to forget what had happened, and learning new tactics would be a start. At his other question, Nyx shook her small head. "I have not met the Alpha, so I do not know what my opinion of him would be."

| He listened to her, waiting for her to reveal a dark part of her past. The more she spoke, it seemed the brute was actually starting to care. How could a pack not train their your wolves? It seemed to be blasphemy to the brute. If he had his own pack, that would never happen and no brute would ever try and force his love on such a young fae. It would not be tolerated. If anyone were to ask Steele at this moment, he would deny it within a heartbeat, but it was now that he would swear himself to protect this fae. No wolf would come to harm her, no brute would try and relive a piece of her past. Perhaps the old black heart wasn't so bad a wolf after all, but then again, perhaps it was just this very moment that the brute felt for the young fae? Not even Steele himself would know the answer. "Nyx was it? Well, in time you will come to find that the Alpha is not so much a leader, as he is a fluffy bunny. But I have plans for something better. If you continue your training with me, I shall find a good place for you within my plan. Now as I can see you have hunted successfully, bringing you one time out of two in my eyes. We need better accuracy." Stretching his legs before her, he let out a whine. It had been a while since he had actually taught a wolf to hunt or fight. With a flick of his tail, he was back up and ready to go. "So what all do you know of hunting? What kind of game have you taken down before?" |

| As Nyx listened to her mentor's words of the Alpha, thoughts raced through her mind. One would think with strong wolves like these, but the Alpha would be even more so. According to Steele, apparently that was not true. The small couldn't help but be curious at what his plan was, but she knew it would be rude to ask. She felt she had no reason to fear him, for she would be as respectful as she could to this male. Even with his violence towards War earlier, she didn't think he would kill her. Keeping different colored her eyes from his in a sign of respect, Nyx spoke. "Seeing as you're my mentor, I will take your word of your opinions. Continuing training with you would be what I believe my best option. I have hardly hunted at all, and that rabbit was pure luck. As far as my accuracy goes, I will get better with practice I am sure." Standing up, Nyx shook out her fur. The scene of the falls caught her gaze, the ivory fae thinking of how she would enjoy taking a nice swim in their cool waters. Now was not the time though, she was training. Shaking her head to clear it, she silently save that idea for later.
Standing up, Nyx stretched out what little muscle she did have. The small fae's ears pinned back as she half yawned and half whined as she bowed her body to stretch more. If they were going to train, Nyx didn't want to look like a fool in front of her mentor. Snapping her head up, she remembered something that she had to do. Her eyes still didn't meet his in respect, but her voice was full of energy. "Oh! Before we go anywhere, I want to thank you. Even with this plan you have, you are still taking the time to train me. You are willing to train me even though I might not be very useful to you. It means a lot to me, so thank you." Looking at him, she smiled. Her small, pink tongue lolled out of her mouth in a goofy grin. |
