| Name: Nyda (Nee-da)Gender: FemaleAge: 3 YearsPack: AgavosRank Requested: HunterAppearance: Nyda, at first glance, is slender but the more one gazes at her the more defined she looks. Compact, lean muscles flow down her frame, covering her sturdy bones to give her strength. A hide of grey smokey fur give her protection against the elements of Mother Nature. Her fur is of course double layered. The hair closest to her skin is fluffy in the cold to keep her warm against father winter, with a dense coat of guard hairs to help shed the snow easily. In spring her coat is less fluffy, giving her a thin look as if she rarely eats. But let it not fool you, her strength is well in hand. Dark amber eyes rove continuously, never looking in one place for long. But do not think that it is a shifty look, no, she is constantly on guard for the unexpected. She never hurries in her task unless she is actively hunting, but even then she is cautious, careful to make the right choice instead of barreling into a situation without first making sure everything has come together at the right moment. Her ears are the short, rounded type if her species. Her hearing acute at picking up the quiet scuffling of tiny feet of mice burrowing under the snow. For Nyda, she is a calm, gentle spirit but, like her kind, can turn ferocious in an instant if need be. Her patience is long, sometimes indifferent to the goings on around her, but she is still ever watch full. Photo:
History: Nyda's history is as extravagant or heart breaking as some that grow up. No, her story is quite drab actually. Born to a pair of hunters, Nyda came into the world at a most prosperous time for her pack. Life was good for the single female pup of her loving parents. The pack was strong and healthy from in the north. Prey were plentiful in their territory wherever they stalked. No one was want for food. When the little female was old enough to leave the den she was quiet, except when it came to meal time. Then she would give a lusty howl for the hunger to be satisfied within her belly. She played with the other pups, defining her spot with their own ranks. Nyda was swift in the punishment that she met out if one pup or another tried to fight for control of her. Sharp teeth would fly if a pup tormented another unmercifully and she would take it upon herself to protect the weak ones. But as life was, the weak would have to either survive by their own will or surrender to the cold embrace of death. She mourned by herself when a weak pup had given up and succumbed to the darkness. But she would steel herself to it after a while.
At four months she began to train herself in the art of tracking. She tacked the adults as they ventured away from the pack on errand but, cursed quietly whenever she gave herself away. The adults hid their smiles but were indulgent if the errand were not a serious matter, but nipped her flank non too gently to point her in the direction of home should it be. Over time though she got better and better at her tracking, silently moving through the forest like a shadow. She soon was bringing down small animals herself as she extended her skill to hunting. Her nose was a good asset to have for she could smell out a good number of things. The pack was proud to have her soon to join the ranks for she exercised caution when she left to be alone. It felt nice to be alone. She was calm and collected. She didn't know it yet, but this young girl would soon be off to explore a new land.
Explore she did. She had earned the rank of hunter within her pack, but Nyda wanted more. She began to feel restless. She knew life outside her pack was nothing like it was within it. There had to be more dangers than the ones at home. When her second year came, she announced that she was to leave. Her parents were saddened by this but nodded in understanding. It was the way life was within a pack. Some grew up and left and some did not. Her alphas were disappointed as well, knowing that they were loosing a valuable hunter but they did not try to sway her to stay. Instead, the whole pack joined together in one last final howl of loyalty, compassion, honesty, and joy. With that she disappeared into the shadows of the summer forest, as mournful howls of goodbye filled the air. She answered with her own song and that was the last anyone from her birth pack saw of her.

How did you find Age? Another site I was looking over.
Example Post: Thump..thump, thump..thump....blood surged through veins, making a roaring sound in the twitching auds that perked high atop the cranium of a huntress. Dark amber eyes locked onto a smaller form that had frozen in fear. Ever so slowly the huntress moved forward, placing a paw down carefully so as not to startle the prey into flight. A black nose twitched, scenting the fear that hung in the air. Suddenly, the small form bolted from cover, fleeing the hand of death that awaited its victim. The huntress surged forward, back paws digging into the hard turf to be propelled after its target. She breathed in a calm breath, while she flew after her prey. The rabbit darted a sharp left turn, then right, but the larger hunter tried to anticipate the target's movements. As it was she, instead of turning left went straight to intercept the rabbit's path. Sharp canine teeth opened wide as strong neck muscles lunged towards the prey. She felt soft fur brush against her pink tongue and she closed the deadly trap of teeth around the spine of the rabbit. A scream of pain rent the quiet air as the rabbit kicked and twisted, trying to free itself from the death it knew was coming. Swiftly the huntress shook her head, quickly ending the life that would feed her and give her strength.
Nyda dropped her prize at her feet, her pink tongue snaked out to lick the blood from her dark lips. She was thrilled that she could take care of herself, happy that she had taken hunting and tracking seriously as she had grown up. Some of her kind did not fare well alone, usually succumbing to death of starvation because they couldn't adequately find enough food. She, herself, instead tried her hardest to pay attention and make adequate choices.
Standing over her prize, Nyda pulled a deep breath in to calm her racing heart. When she slowed her heart, her gaze scanned the surrounding wood. Birds started up their calls again, the wind moved through the trees. Life continued for the living. And Nyda, Nyda settled down to a nice meal while she thought of where to travel her lonely paws to next.
