A new day, a new chapter added in the life of a calm and efficient hunter. Large pads carried the huntress forwards. To where, she had no idea. She had only been away from her birth pack for a year, a year this season actually. The winter had been a bit rough for a lonely hunter. She wasn't able to bring down larger prey, but she had managed with a sickly elder deer...once. The rest of the time she had had to contend with mice and the caches of a few foxes. Life was certainly more tougher when alone and that made her take note as she experienced it. She didn't complain though, she didn't wish she was back home. Life was just different now that she was on her own and she threw herself into the fight of survival. Soon enough, her pack's territory slowly drifted away and she was in the neutral lands. She made her way south, coming down a large range of mountains that rose up to her left. For a whole year she had travelled with those mountains off to her left, and after a while it was a slight comforting sight to see them rising up as if reaching for the blue sky. But, now with the warmth seeping back into the world they began a down ward slope. It was as if she were coming to the end of the path and she felt the slight loss of the sight.

At the foot of the chain of mountains, she sat and looked around herself, trying to decide on which direction to take. Shrugging her shoulders, Nyda decided to keep going south and a bit east. Flowers poked their new heads up, spreading their beautiful colors and enticing bees to spread their pollen. It was a beautiful sight to see spring spreading her bountiful carpet across the land. Days past and she turned her nose more to the south. The terrain had taken on a decided change as she continued her journey. She walk under trees that were strange looking to her eyes, they were nothing like the pines and fur trees in the north, yet they were pleasant to look upon. Then a new scent caught her attention, curiosity as well as caution made her advance her movements. It was the scents of many wolves mixed together. It could only mean one thing...a pack. She moved fluidly over the ground, as if a shadow, with her coat helping to camouflage her form if not her scent. The wind playfully lifted her fur as it took her scent towards the boundary, she stopped within a few yards of it. Standing there, at the edge of the boundary line, Nyda shifted her weight to one side, finding a more comfortable stance. Then, taking a chance, she threw back her head and voiced a sweet melody, lacing it with curiosity. Will her chapter be ended here, or will another chapter be added to her life?
