I Summon Thee Empty
PostSubject: I Summon Thee I Summon Thee Icon_minitimeAugust 13th 2015, 21:02

the dark red male kept moving, a slight sting in his step but it was countered with the sadness in his heart. It was weeks ago, months even that he had been separated from his uncle and he still felt that loss. How stupid and reckless he had been to chase after that prey and for what? Nothing. Not even a mouthful of course hair but a lungful of river water. And that was in late winter. He had been lucky enough to even survive the chilling cold of the water to even make it ashore. For days he had roamed up and down the river, howling for his uncle but alas, he did not answer. Finally Toothless had given up on searching for his uncle, not sure that the old wolf had been able to survive on his own for long, and yet again underestimating some one with better experience than he. This was his first time alone and he had to admit, it wasn't as fun as he thought it would be.

On he went away from the water's edge, forging his way through thick brambles or less densely pack terrain. It wasn't long before he came across the scent of other wolves. The summer sun shone brightly overhead, a playful breeze swept his scent towards the lands where it smelled strongly. Curiosity made him edge closer, that and the breeze pulling him, urging him on even more. Hunting had been ok but it wasn't anything like having others around to help bring down large quarry. Shrugging his shoulder, Toothless continued on till he reached the boarder, then sat down. Here he would probably fair better and could extend his training even more. Making up his mind, the young male lifted his nose to the sun and let out a summoning howl. When he finished he lowered himself to his belly, tail sweeping the ground back and forth as he trained his eye on the prize.

Rose's paws carried her forth from the camp clearing. Her tail swayed as she went to do something she found herself quite enjoying, the border patrol. Her paws hardly touched the ground as she kept moving, body and tail swaying with every joyful step she took. Her heart was beating and her breathing was gentle, she decided to take it fairly slow today. She was always running but now she was going to try to take it easy and relax. She was in one of her best moods and as she neared the border, she slowed her pace and caught her breath. She let her tail swing neutrally between her legs and she hid in the shadows until she saw the he-wolf that had called her forth by being there. Slowly, she approached with a smile upon her face. She sat down and curled her tail around her body and let it rest upon her front paws. "Hello fair stranger, I am Guardian Rose of these lands known as Helidos. Whom might you be and is there anyway I may be able to help you?" She smiled and tilted her head ever so slightly to show she was curious. Her ears flicked slightly as she awaited to hear the male speak unto her. She swayed with the autumn wind that wove it's way through the woods they were in. Rose kept herself friendly, as that was all she could ever do to welcome another. Her amber eyes searched the brute in front of her, watching him carefully in case he may attack. She rolled her shoulders back and made sure she sat very still and straight, but relaxed to let the other wolf know that was of no harm to him.

((OOC - Sorry it's tiny <3 low on muse, it'll be better next post~))

I Summon Thee Empty

It was a short duration of waiting for a member of the pack to come at his call but come she did. Out of the forest she came, slowly, cautiously but with a friendly smile upon her maw. The young male's tail stopped its rhythmic swaying as his sparkling blue eyes laid themselves  on the fair pelted fae. A coat of the purest white of snow adorned her graceful frame. Her eyes of honeyed amber were filled with curiosity and friendliness that he forgot himself for a slight moment as he held his breath. When she spoke it was a pleasant sounding monotone. Her name she gave without any hesitancy, adopting a dominant position yet a friendly demeanor.

Toothless slowly rose to his forepaws, keeping his head low and glancing up at her every now and then. He gave the guardian a smile, his lips turning upwards without even a hint of teeth. "Good day Guardian Rose, my name is Toothless and I do so hope you could help me." Toothless said. Keeping ones teeth hidden was a hard thing for anyone to do even when talking, but for the young male he had perfected it since he was a small pup. "I am in search of a new home and would ask if there is any room in your family for another? Traveling has left me lonely for the comforts of others and I do so hope to contribute my own skills to help keep your home running." He continued. He was polite as any young and brash male could be, for he saw no reason to become hostile with this fae. She had greeted him in a friendly manner so it was only logical to reply in kind. He liked this fae immensely and hoped that they would become good friends.

Rose was able to relax more, honey-amber eyes staring upon the brute with kindness. She studied his facial expression, searching his sparkling blue eyes, she adored the color they were. She smiled again, wagging her tail and letting it thump against the ground lightly. "There will always be room for one more in our pack." She said loud enough for him to hear, shifting from paw to paw as she knew what she needed to ask. "Toothless, what skills can you offer to Helidos? Where do you see yourself within our ranks? What was your past like?" She spoke quietly, letting her questions settle in the air. She watched him, not seeing teeth when he smiled made her worry. "Uh... Toothless, you have teeth, right?" She blinked quietly, knowing it was an odd question. "Sorry if that seems rude, my good sir." She added in an apology in case he took offense to her asking. She thought about all the wolves she had met, the stories they told, the pasts they shared, the scars they showed. They were all broken, but at least they were together now. Broken together... all the pieces fall into place, it's amazing. She thought quietly to herself, ears roving forward so she could pay attention to the brute. She was slightly lost in her own thoughts, but she paid attention to the male as well. Her eyes staying on him as he would speak. She simply waited to respond and accept the male into their home. She wondered what exact rank he would want, a Healer, Hunter, or perhaps a Warrior. She didn't see a gift of food, nor did he smell like herbs. So she was guessing that he would be a warrior. She studied his build, he looked like a Warrior. But then again, she looked small and smelled of herbs, not much like a strong and well built Guardian. The muscles she did have were all in her legs and shoulders. She used them for quick attacks and the ability to dodge faster. She was good at escaping, throwing her weight around to move with her quick paws. Using her tail for balance, she was built for speed. The Alphess was small too, which always made Rose wonder if the Alphess felt connected to Rose in that way.

Blue eyes watched the fae closely, seeing her bodily relax even more as her honeyed orbs shone with kindness. One could get lost in those orbs, he thought to himself. The guardian's tail swayed back and forth, thumping upon the ground as a smile graced her lips. She confirmed that there was indeed a place for a new soul and Toothless's tail wagged happily and his eyes sparkled. Questions danced from the fae's lips, asking about what skills he could offer Helidos. What rank he saw himself in, and what his past was like. Toothless sat up a but straighter, his head tilted to the side as his blue orbs took on a far away look, summoning the memories of his past. "Dear Rose, I am skilled at fighting and give my all to any challenge. Of course I can hunt and track well, but I prefer to protect what I hold dear. It burns in my blood to defend and if you deem me acceptable I swear on my life and honor that I will not hesitate to defend this pack as a warrior."
He paused, gathering his thoughts about his past, then with a sigh he told a short version of it. "I am three years old, dear fae, but I trained hard to fight since I was a young pup. Others would think me as crazy as my uncle but I proved that it was not so. I left my pack at two years of age with my uncle following behind me and we traveled a while together. A few months ago though, we were hunting elk near a fast flowing river and I followed a few of them into the water. It was a stupid mistake and I was separated from my uncle. I haven't seen him since and sadly feel that he is no more. As for my mistake, it is not one that I will be repeating anytime soon I can assure you." Finished with his tale, Toothless closed his eyes at the painful memories of being swept away from his uncle Zedd.

The young brute smiled again, humoring the strikingly white fae as she asked the worrying question. It was a question that others asked but seldom. The ones he had come across had only laughed and pointed out that he had no teeth. Boy were they wrong. He chuckled aloud, finding it quite amusing every time someone asked him that question. "No, not at all. It's quite alright to ask that question. Yes, I do have teeth but I find hiding them an advantage for me. It is the reason that my name is Toothless. My entire pack named me that actually. See if one doesn't show their teeth, others sometimes misjudge the situation. When an angry wolf is upset, they usually show their teeth to show their displeasure. Not me, however angry I get. I will usually only unsheathe my teeth in a fight and only then when I make contact will they emerge. But I will show you anyways to settle your curiosity and worry." The red brute opened his maw wide, showing the guardian that he did indeed have teeth. When she finished inspecting them he closed his maw and waited for her verdict on his acceptance.

Rose chuckled as he opened his maw, showing her that he had teeth. She leaned forward inspecting his teeth and leaning back slightly, she had a plan. "I understand why they call you 'Toothless'! Not a single tooth within that gummy maw of yours!" She pretended to be serious, eyes widening and her face taking a look of shock. She glanced over and pointed her maw at a tiny, but reflective, puddle. "Take a look yourself!" She was very serious, standing up and moving to the puddle, pointing her muzzle at it as she tried to usher him over. Once she was done teasing him, she smiled. Laughter coming from her maw and she would turn towards the camp clearing, taking a couple of long strides and then turning back with a cocky grin. "Welcome home, Warrior Toothless. Let me show you to your den and then you may do as you please." She breathed out the words calmly, amber eyes darting from him to the puddle, an easy and playful look on her face. She smiled once more before turning away and trotting off towards the camp clearing. Oh how she loved accepting others into her home.
