High Tides [Sieglinde] Empty
PostSubject: High Tides [Sieglinde] High Tides [Sieglinde] Icon_minitimeAugust 18th 2015, 01:42

The sun shone brightly overhead, the skies blue and barely a cloud in sight. To some it was a beautiful day, but to the Delta it was horrendous. He woke up with a roaring headache, it made his brain pound in his skull. Thump! Thump! Thump! He groaned, the sound pained as he rolled over onto his side, his right foreleg now covering his eyes as he tried to block out the light from his den entrance. It was much too bright for his taste, and was flowing in as if it was trying to urge him to get up. Which he did not want, and refused, to do. He sighed, the jaws escaping his already slightly open jaws. Today.. is not a good day.. he said mentally. The hustle bustle of camp was loud and would not allow the brute to sleep in the quietness he so craved. Flattening his ears he tried to block out the noise, but it was not having at it. Sometimes.. he hated pack life. The amount of wolves that Agavos was now attracting was many, they had to at least have twenty members at this point. No longer were they such a small rumor, no they were growing larger. And although it was good for them, he also hated how many wolves were here now.

Moving his arm from over his orbs he opened them to reveal the golden color to the now well light den he was in. The only color that was displayed on his entire pelt. With another groan of protest he pushed himself up to stand. The pounding stopping him from walking out of his home for a moment before he began to move. His head carried low as he refused to raise it today and his eyes narrowed and gloomy looking. He knew none would talk to him, barely anyone did. He was more of the ghost that went along, helping when needed but never socializing much more than that. He left that part of his job to his equivalent in ranking, Breeze. Due to the pack meeting he now was known by name and rank. And from what he had said, they now new him as the anti-social one as well. Quite unlike Breeze, it was rather amusing at how two completely different personalities had gotten the same rankings in the same task. But the decision was made by Desmond, and he wouldn't argue with it. They were both there for reasons that the believed and he respected that. Quickly grabbing a small hare from the pile he continued on his way to get away from the noise. Today would be a slow, relaxing day. And he new just the place.

Having eaten his rabbit alone and in peace before he got to the sandy beaches of Poseidon's Ring, he now stood with his paws tucked into the warm sands. A cool and soft salty breeze blew and it made his pelt ruffle slightly as the air came into his nostrils. His head was already clearing, and the pounding in his head resolving into quiet tapping after a few minutes. This place had done wonders to him. His eyes were shut as he stood still and lone, no other voices disturbed him. It was peaceful here, the only sounds were the waves crashing against the shore and the soft blow of the wind and an occasional whistle. It came from the arch of rock that lay a few yards from him now, even though some said it was the ghost of a wolf. He did not believe in that story, but would let it be told to the younger generations that might come in the spring. Opening his eyes for the second time today he began to move forward, closer to the blue waters that soon wrapped around his paws. He made his way to some rocks that stuck out from the waters below. Jumping up onto one he lay himself down, the sizing of the rock fitting perfectly with his frame as it seemed to wrap around him. The breeze was stronger now when he was above the waters, but he did not mind. Laying his head on his soaked forelegs he allowed the bottom of his jaw to get wet as he gazed out to the ocean. Wondering what it would be like to live out there, and what was at the end of it.

It was an odd thought, but he could not help but think it. The night pelted demon often thought of things like this. But lately his mind had been on something, or someone else. The escapes into the night had left him drowsy now. He doubted that he would stay out as long for quite some time. Braelyn was something he needed to figure out before he met her again. She was definitely nothing to him, she was something. But that is what bothered him. He could not pinpoint what he wanted her to be to him, and it was slowly killing him. He could not talk about it to anyone because then they would treat him as a traitor. The rouge Mjölner, on the other paw, was someone he never thought about, or at least tried not to. He'd rather forget the whole thing than experience it again. But he knew it was only a matter of time before his identity was figured out to the cannibal, and he bet he would be stalking the borders awaiting for Desoto to leave the safety of his lands.  The thought of that almost made him want to jump into the depths of the sea before him and never surface, but he wouldn't do that.

It was most definitely summer now; the sun being a clear confirmation to the upcoming heated days. The rays came through the leaves of the trees, ending as golden shadows on the brown earth. Sieglinde appreciated the warmth that the sun gave, but she was not fond of it. The dark hues of her fur reacted poorly to the heat, absorbing it rather than reflecting it like white-pelted wolves. It was during these times that she would seek solace within her own den, staying in the shade. And it was exactly where she was; lying safely in her own sanctuary. Having not left her den since the day before, she did not particularly wish to leave it now, especially since she could feel the heat radiating off the ground. But she could sense the temperature lowering in her den, going from a cool to a chilly. Any longer and it would no longer be comfortable. Sighing, she pushed herself up to her paws and cautiously poked her head out of her hollow.

Once she made sure that there was no one around, Sieglinde climbed out, stretching her body, arching like a feline. Humming pleasantly, she felt her bones pop back into place, her muscles releasing all tension. Rolling her shoulders, she looked towards the sky, seeing the scattered sparkles of sunlight through the leaves. This wasn't enough warmth. She would have to go somewhere else where there was less shelter and more sun. Shaking herself to beat away some of the cold, she began to wander out of the forest. Not really having a set direction, she went towards the left of her den, believing that it wouldn't take long for her to leave the woodland. Oh, how wrong she was. For what seemed like hours, it was just tree after tree with the occasional shrub that greeted her as she continued on her path. Musing to herself, she said, "Goodness, when will this end?" Despite the slight wariness now in her mind, she continued forward, hoping that eventually she would reach the outer stretch of the forest.

Fortunately, it was easy to tell when she had left the pack clearing when the treeline abruptly stopped and there was just a spread of green and yellow out in front of her. The dark fae hadn't paid attention to which way she had gone but she was fairly sure it was south. The sun was almost glaring down upon her fur and she immediately felt her pelt warming up. Her paws soon began to walk on sand, rather than dirt, the soft sensation beneath her pads disrupting her cadence, causing her to stumble. Sinking slightly into the sand, she gazed at wonder at what it lead to. Crystal blue water splashed softly  against the white, shimmering from the light of the sun. Mesmerised, she went forward, stopping just before the seawater line, staring out into the distance, hardly being able to take her eyes off the scene. A tingle of coolness sprung through her as the tide pushed small waves towards her, kissing the tips of her paws. Not wanting to get herself wet, she retreated back a couple of steps, but stayed a considerable distance from the sea.

A squawk brought her attention from the water to the seagulls fluttering about on the beach. Feeling slightly mischievous, she stalked towards them and once close enough, leapt into their midst, anticipating their surprise. Immediately, several squawks flew at her,  as the birds flew up and away, obviously flustered from the sudden scare. Chuckling lightly, she repeated her actions, occasionally nipping her jaws near them, teasing. She travelled a while down the coast, stopping only when she saw a dark shadow up ahead. Ceasing her playful antics, she shook herself to rid her fur of any sand before casting a curious glance towards the giant rock formation. Jade eyes glimmered with interest and she started into a slow jog.

As she approached the rock formation, she realised that there was another smaller rock blocking her way. Nearing it, she noticed that there was a dark form settled atop of it. Narrowing her eyes to have a clear look, she recognised the shadow as Delta Desoto. She had only ever seen him once during the pack meeting and they had exchanged no words. Why was he here? Dragging her gaze over his figure, she observed that he looked particularly forlorn and generally unhappy. Drawing nearer, she subtly padded up to him, making her presence warm and submissive. She didn't want to startle him and create a bad impression. Smiling softly, her expression kind, she murmured, "Delta Desoto, it is a pleasure to meet you on such a...warm day." Deciding not to speak much in order not to overwhelm him, she jumped straight to the point. Her voice still soft and gentle, she uttered, "A penny for your thoughts, sir?"

High Tides [Sieglinde] Empty
PostSubject: Re: High Tides [Sieglinde] High Tides [Sieglinde] Icon_minitimeAugust 19th 2015, 19:57

For a while it was quiet. For a while it was just him and the earth, basking in the heat of the sun. His eyes had closed as he began to relax a bit, still stiff from his thoughts but less.. troubled. His dark pelt absorbed the rays of the sun that shone down upon him, and the rock he lay on soon became warm to the touch. If it were not for the water below him he would have worried about overheating in this heat. It was a rather hot day, but as the bits of water sprayed upon him as the waves hit the rock he now rested on, he was cooled. The small fizz of the particles of salty water in there air was also cooler than being in the camp clearing. Undisturbed and alone.. it was rather nice now that he was here. But it seemed that almost everything he could or would think about always led him back to conclusion of what troubled him. Something was wrong with him, he had never felt so unhappy as he did now. Before he had been fine, almost happy, but now something bugged him and he couldn't pinpoint what it was. Agavos was fine, he liked living in the strange group of wolves. He may not know many of them, but slowly he was getting accustomed to many of its members. As a Delta it was his job to look over them, train them. Which was another thing he also had not done quite yet.

At the end of the hunt, when he was promoted, Desmond had said that he, with the help of Breeze, was supposed to train the wolves. But now, about a season later and he still had done nothing. A few thoughts were coming into his mind, and slowly he was forming something. He hoped it would be done soon, he wanted to finish his first training task soon. But he also did not want it to be boring, or else it would have barely any effect. His jaws opened to let a sigh come from his lungs and into the air. It was soft against the sounds of nature, almost blending into nothing. All he saw still was darkness, his eye lids being closed made sure of that. But still he could picture what lay before him, endless amounts blue from both the sky and water. Only the liquid was darker and a tad green the farther out one would look. Behind him white beaches lay and soaked up the sun. To the left there was the arch that when the wind passed through made a soft whistle or howl. And atop and behind that was the forests, inland where one would go to the camp clearing or neutrals. Along both sides of him the shore line extended. For how far it went exactly he did not know, nor did he really care. He knew it was there and that was all that mattered to him.

The sound of distressed squawking from the distance alerted him that he was no longer alone. He opened his eyes and raised his head, looking over in the direction from the noises came from. His gaze caught onto the white and gray feathers of the seagulls as the flew into the air then back down onto the sand. From where he was he could only see the birds as they rose into the sky, but could not see the culprit of their loudness and panic. He rolled his eyes, a low growl coming out from his closed jaws in annoyance. His ears flattened as he lowered his head onto his dry legs again. His eyes looking back out towards the sea. Dropping his tail from its position at his side he let it hang loosely off the rock. It just dipped into the water, the tip of it becoming soaked a tad as he left it there. The bounding of paw-steps was becoming louder against the sands, but he did not turn his head. He kept looking out to the sea, thinking of nothing but everything. The banner of his that was in the water moved with the soft waves as much as it could. Drifting back and forth as the unknown being made itself closer to his own mass.

"'Delta Desoto...'" The voice was soft, feminine; a murmur. As almost as if she wished not so startle him in his silent state. Moving his head he looked over at her, his golden orbs scanning over her frame. She was smaller, not tiny, but small. Her eyes were a jaded green that seemed to glow against her dark pelt. Green eyes.. just like..no. He blinked to get rid of the thoughts, his eyes looking away from the she-wolf for a moment. She was gentle, almost as if he gave off how troubled he was at the moment. She said it was a pleasure to meet him, but would it still remain? He never really got first impressions down right, Fel would be an example. He still frowned upon that moment and he had a feeling that she would never let what he had said go. A penny for his thoughts? A season ago he had asked Braelyn the same question, only used hare instead. He sighed once more, his head turning back to the female who still stood in the waters that surrounded him. His golden optics locking on her face in a gaze of neutrality. Void of most emotion as he opened his jaws to speak. "My thoughts are jumbled. Trying to figure things out, you see. I want things, but I cannot have them. I have a training task that I still need to plan, wolves to oversee, borders to patrol and loners to accept or decline. Agaves has grown quickly, and me and my nature are finding it difficult to become accustomed to the new wolves around here. I have been here since the beginning, yet I only know a few wolves, not befriended any." He stopped his words from going forth, not wanting to trouble the vixen before him. She was a member, not a higher ranked. She needn't be hearing of the complaints of a superior. He offered a tense, half-hearted smile. It only reached halfway across his muzzle, and barely showed his teeth. "Anyways, you are Sieg..." He shut his mouth, his eyes narrowing in thought as he tried to remember the rest of it. But he could not and it bothered him a bit. "Sorry.. I'm not the best with names; if you hadn't guessed. But if I remember correctly you are a hunter, yes?   Tell me, who accepted you at the borders, and how are you liking Agavos?"

The Delta's words brought a sympathetic smile to Sieglinde's face and she settled beside the male, listening carefully to his words. From his tone, it was evident that he tended to keep his emotions in check and was an impassive character. At his reply, she was given the idea that the role of Delta was one that required attention and time, with the additional willpower to handle important matters within the pack. Lowering her head in respect, she replied softly, "Sir Desoto, you were bestowed with a title within Agavos and as default, you are one that I respect. I should not think that any one should be upset because of your nature, as you have the trust of the Alpha and I do not think that anyone would question that. I, for one, am content to know that Agavos is in good paws. No one should expect you to make friendships if you do not wish to, or if you hadn't had the time." Pausing slightly, she continued on, formally introducing herself, "I don't expect most to know my name yet and thus, this is a good opportunity to introduce myself. Indeed, Hunter Sieglinde, at your service."

Lowering her gaze demurely, she gave a small huffed laugh, accompanied with a gentle smile. Staring out at the sea, she took in the shades of glistening blue with a tinge of green, appreciating its beauty let the breeze wash over her, breathing in the salty air. Recalling her acceptance, she thought back to the Alpha and their first meeting at the border, she turned back to the Delta, eyes shining merrily, "I was accepted by Alpha Desmond on the outskirts not too long ago. Agavos is delightful and I have enjoyed every moment of my being here. Although I haven't met as many people, I do hope to be acquainted with the rest of the pack." She did not have much to say as she was still very new to the pack. "So, Sir Desoto, what brings you to the sea? Perhaps, it was to relish in the tranquillity that the waves provide?
