Trotting quietly along the lake edge, Chayton stopped suddenly, whirling on the backs of his paws, ears perked as he heard something, and cerulean orbs searching the surrounding area before he noticed them... A fawn and a doe, little tails twitching, warily approaching the lake. He knew for a fact that he couldn't take them both down on his own, but could attempt to frighten them off, so he did. Hackles raised, and head down low, he stalked forward, his muzzle pulling back to reveal yellowed canines, and let loose a savage growl. The doe and fawn both lifted their heads from drinking, looking over at him in alarm, before they darted off in fear.
"Good." He muttered, his bright eyes dulled, beautiful pelt matted and dirty, and ears down. His spirits were low, he hadn't had such an easy time fitting in with the pack, he had preferred to stay on the edges, making his den near the outer rim of camp, where he could hide out if something was wrong. The toll it took on him was starting to show. He was afraid of making friend in case something happened to them like it did to his parents, and normally this would not be a concern. The thing was, he had started having nightmares since he joined a pack, and he had starting worrying that terrible things would happen to the wolves he befriended, and got to know, so he decided to stay there, but keep interaction to a minimum.
"I should wash up..." He spoke softly to himself, padding closer to the lake, briefly glancing at his reflection and shuddering, his coat quite a sight for sore eyes, and then walked in. The water was cool, calming him and he slowly untensed, lowering his head so that the bottom of his muzzle skimmed the water. "That's better." He said, contentedness apparent in his tone.

As the fae lingered at the farther side of the lake, she kicked numerous pebbles to the side, landing into the lake with a ca-plunk. The water devoured them whole, sinking deeper into the sky's reflection, rippling into smaller circles that expanded. Kennedy had grown tired from staying in her den so days on end, she needed space, serenity to ease her mind and be given exercise. She had no intentions to meet the other packmates, the fae didn't want anything to do with any of them. Nyx and Creek were the only ones she had liked, Ember was not the most socially active fae, but you couldn't really blame her. After the incident back at the swamp, she had no recollections of whom she was before and who she had ever met. Kennedy in all honesty was jealous of the fae, if only she could erase her history and start all over. The face of her brother Modo still stared deep within her soul, the memory of his fangs and claws lashing at her back sent shivers down her spine followed by a pain to the long scar at her hind quarters.

Kennedy's vanilla creamed tattered ear and other flicked back at the sound of sprinting hoof sounds, the pebbles before her started to tremble. Looking up over the long grasses that could tickle her snout, she saw a family of two deer scatter away into the forest's shadows. Her dark sapphire hues peered through the grass, squinting at the other side of the lake. A brute, much larger than herself stood at the lake's edge, bathing peacefully to himself. She made a noise in disgust. Last thing she wanted was to be caught from one of her packmates, especially a male. The fae had already dealt with both Betas on her first day at the border. The Beta male didn't exactly frustrate her, but the female made Kennedy's blood rise to boiling point. If only... The voices in her said hissed, swirling with ideas as they sucked her in secretly. Shaking her head, she looked back to the brute, then turning. She stopped to a dead end. The lake turned into a small stream that curved around the pasture, the only way to get passed was to go in the direction of the brute and cross over. "Damn it. Why must my luck be so unfortunate?! For God's sake, why?" Kennedy cursed under her breathe in defeat.

Her head bowed, then slowly lifted to the brute. There was no doubt in her mind that he would notice her, maybe if she worked her way passed real quietly he wouldn't look up. Then again, her scent of the pack's was strong, if he would sense it, the fae was done for. Kennedy gave up, shoulders slanted, and a sigh escaped her maw. She trudged against the lake's side, walking into the water that went to her knees. Her underbelly became heavier as it was grazing the water's surface and becoming drenched. Might as well give up, Kennedy. He's going to see you. The voices said. Kennedy glared at her blurry reflection, like as if it was the one speaking. "I didn't ask for your opinion. Go away." She muttered.

"Hm?" Chayton's head lifted, mucky-looking water dripping off his bottom jaw, the pristine water around him mixed with dirt from his pelt, as it came off of him when he had submerged himself. "Wha?" He turned his head, one ear perked and one flat against his cranium, and he peered warily at the she-wolf that was nearing him. Tail tucked in, he lowered himself in the water even more, both ears now flat against his skull, eyes half-lidded, and muzzle skimming the water again.
"Do you hail from this pack as well?" He called out, not unkindly, yet somewhat hostile, for he didn't enjoy being caught in such a personal moment. Tilting his head, he let out a huff of annoyance, eyes opening slightly, as he took in her appearance. Nice creamy-white fur, and pretty blue eyes, he looked hard at her, a faint tugging at the back of his mind bothering him. She looks faintly like that pretty femme I met in that one packlands... Imena(Dream)... Hm... He mused inwardly to himself.
Shaking his head quickly, scatting water droplets, his face-fur fluffing slightly, he tried to quickly erase that thought. The issues that befell the beautiful white wolfess were not pleasant memories, and they upset him quite a lot, making him want to raise his fur, and bare his fangs in protest and denial. These types of thoughts just brought him down, and made him believe that anywolf who came incontact with him was doomed to experience pain and end up offed. He thought and strongly believed he could never amount to anything, and never make his deceased parents proud.

Kennedy pierced her ears against her head, stopped in mid-step to the sound of the brute's words. Damn it.The fae lazily looked up from the lake's top, eyeing the male carelessly. "Are you surprised?" She sighed and sashayed her way through the shallow water to dry land, shaking her fur till most of the water was drained. "I'm sure the fish love the taste of dirt floating in their home." Kennedy's tone held irritation, she just wanted to leave. To go back to her isolated den at the clearing's edge and never see anyone again. There was no use now, he was starting a conversation and Kennedy would have to listen to it out of respect which she cared little for in this pack. The large male crouched close to the land, he should no aggression nor fear.

"I'm Warrior Kennedy, you?" Her dampen tail curled at her side, covering the long scar across her rear as she sat. Bring her paw to her snout, she scratched her cheek for a moment, then setting it back down at her side. Kennedy swayed on her feet, basking in the sun's warmth as she waited for the brute to respond. He looked the complete opposite as her brother had, Modo resembled the apprentice Nyx. Covered in a pelt of snow white, piercing silver eyes like the Beta male. Whereas this male had a mix of dark grays, browns and light browns, a pair of light blue hues gazing up at her.

A intriguing scent of a hare's blood teased at her ebony wet nose, her ears perked, and pupils stretching larger with bloodlust in every sniff. Her eye darted to the brute to see if she should stay, but the twisted mind of hers told her to bolt after the kill. Training her keen sense of hearing behind her, she heard the noses of a large hare nibbling on grass not far from where she sat. Kennedy stood on all fours, instincts taking over her body. She nodded to the brute to hang on, then pounced into the tall grasses, hiding herself within them. Kennedy lingered above the grassy field, muscles hunched and recoiling behind a creamed pelt. Her moves made no sound, the hare before her burrowed pleasantly, not even bothering to look up from his work to see her only a couple yards away. A long, pink tongue rolled out of her maw, licking her chops as she could begin to imagine the rich blood of a hare seep into her mouth. Long black claws dug into the rich dirt beneath her, setting position to pounce. Her ears pierced against her skull, slowing her pulse to not breathe so loud. The hare lifted its head to sniff the air. It darted as her scent finally was registered to its tiny wet nose. Kennedy jumped into an increasing sprint, leaping and digging her legs into the ground every time they hit surface. She could feel her heart thump rapidly as she bounded after the hare.

The hare was wise, faking left and bouncing as fast as it could take it. Unfortunately, Kennedy was already ahead of the game and took a dead right, running faster against the hare mouth agape. A menacing laugh rippled out of her throat, she hadn't ran this fast in months, it felt free to feel this way again. As the prey slowed down, the fae opened her jaws wider, pouncing onto the hare with her maw wrapped around its grey neck. Her paws slid out from underneath her, sending her side into the dirt, snapping the hare's neck without trying. The tasty blood poured from where her canines punctured the flesh, filling her mouth with the delicious liquid, and grin lit her face. Bring herself to her feet, she trotted back to the sun spot near the lake's edge, dropping it at her feet and laying down to feast upon it. Kennedy looked to the brute to see if he was still there. She bowed her head. "Sorry, it's a habit." Kennedy smirked.

Raising his head from the water, he surveyed her form, and then quietly picked his way out of the water, sitting a little bit away from her, unsure of the limits. He dipped his head to her, chuckling at her sarcasm, and then spoke softly, "You misjudge me femme. I just needed a nice washing up for my pelt was horrid. I haven't done too well in the pack, despite my being a warrior. Past..." He paused, searching for a word, and then his face darkened slightly, "issues."
As she introduced herself, seeming slightly disengaged from the conversation, her took in her posture once more, trying to read the she-wolf, though his attempts were of no use. "I am Chayton, former apprentice of the once-great pack Aldrion, before it's horrid downfall. Now a member of this pack, though I have yet to decide if it is where I shall stay to spend the rest of my days." He tilted his head slightly to the side, studying her some more, then seemingly becoming very interested in his paws as he thought carefully about how he should speak next. He wasn't very sure how to speak to this wolfess, as he didn't often converse with the others in the pack unless required to.
But it seemed he didn't have to think long as she darted off, after the scent of prey. He watched her carefully, his wise gaze appraising her movements, the way she pounced, and yet, when she slid, he inwardly winced. He was so used to precise, carefully calculated kills, since that had been drilled into him in his birthpack, before he had run off to Valhalla, and it would never leave him. As she came back he dipped his head to her, then answered her with a simple, "It's fine. Doesn't bother me."
With a shrug, he returned to his previous thoughts, before speaking his mind, "How long have you resided with this pack?" A pause, "How tightly-bound are they?" Another pause, "How much do you trust them." He fell silent once more, awaiting her response to his short firing of questions.

His questions irritated her, but made the fae curious to as why he wanted to know so much about her. Pinning down the kill with one paw, her claws tugged it towards her out of instinct, arching a brow to the brute. "What is this? Twenty questions?" Kennedy rolled her eyes carelessly, a sigh escaped her mouth. "If you're trying to make conversation, asking me questions repetitively isn't going to get you far. As for the so called-how-long I've-been-here?-crap, I've been staying here for about-" Kennedy tossed her head from side to side, thinking of when she met the two who visited her at the border. "-I believe a few months give or take. I try not to remember that day to be honest." She had only met three wolves in the time she had been here, the young fae, the apprentice named Nyx whom as annoying as she may be had grown onto the Hunter. Then there was the couple from Hell, the Betas, Steele and Esmeralda.

The names left a bland and toxic taste on her pinkish black tongue, Kennedy made an noise in disgust. "If you knew the certain individuals from that day, you wouldn't want to remember either. I don't trust any of them, I keep to myself and that's it. Understand?" The fae's tongue rolled out of her mouth, lapping the blood of her stained maw to rid the rotten taste. "I presume you're new here, Mr. Ask-The-Fae-All-The-Questions? The scent of this...." Kennedy paused to stop herself from insulting the pack. "pack, is not very well embedded in your pelt. Word of advice from me, I suggest you don't meet the Beta female. She's quite the character." The sense of sarcasm in her voice was not as blunt as she had expected, either way, Kennedy did not care for Esmeralda and would prefer to rip out her throat if given the chance. Others praised the ashen fae's presence and loathed meeting the onyx male, where as Kennedy was vise-versa. She'd kill herself before ever bowing to the fae out of respect, in which was not earned from her point of view.
