Narrow fibers suspend from the support of limbs- rough, clawed texture allowing for the strands in only a small portion of corners to slip between the cracks, offering a strong base for operation. Transparency blending the construction in with the natural backgrounds. Here, in the mist of the shadows and devil's playground would it the slightest of drafts find its way past the large variety of foliage and make the web dance, it's complex threads moving with the breeze as one. It was rather brilliant really, how it swayed for her eyes clear and yet, practically deluded and invisible to the true victims of it's curse; the ones that could not see it hidden in plain sight. On a rather typical day, the edges would have shining. Outlined in the beamed ray of light that transpired from the star of the day, even the heat from such a source would have no affect on the material. But instead, the thin fibers would let the light pass through: keeping the secret of its location.
Braelyn, entrapped in the magic of the web would observe and scan the structure with her vibrant hues, the green enhanced from the fog that emerged from the fire that grew beneath the ground and it's monsters that lurked in its core. It had been a victory, a true success for Erenyx as they had won the war. For what felt like nearly moments ago, the day that had already passed replayed on repeat in her mind. The Delta unable to shut her mind and close the doors that had been opened. The battlefield was ruthless, the plain stained and stricken with the blood of foes and allies. Souls lost, the devil's demons took it upon themselves to drag only but the blackest of hearts down with them and even the purest just for entertainment. No one important to the fae had been erased however, as she did not have any close relations to any of the wolves in the pack. Oh, but there is the situation of the black brute. How Braelyn wished more would have been done in the time between her rival and Teren's ending howl.
Broken leg, bloody face - tearing a limb or breaking another would have been a great thrill. Surely the Delta sent him back to Helidos beaten and with a score to settle. It was nice to have an enemy as then there would be no doubt the two would reunite and finish what was stared. Permanently. Lips at the edge lifting into a small smile, the scene of battle would once more flash before her eyes. The rain pouring, blood seeping and drenching wet coats with the combined streak of lighting and thunder in the sky, Braelyn was truthful to say the day would never be forgotten. She had survived her first war and that was worth all the endless amounts of sorrow the fae had been given in her younger years. But what was next? A silent sigh became released from the Delta but although hushed, it had been filled heavy as it came from the fae's lungs. The cold season had once more been swept over the land, the wind bringing chills, pushing more and more snow filled skies in the lands direction.
Patches were already scattered across the terrain, covering leaves in specks as the winter made itself known. With its presence, the dooming nature of mating came as well. The Delta had already sealed her fate however, the deed done. Pups would be roaming the territories in the next spring, but for Erenyx Braelyn had faint hope the next generations would survive. Once again the alpha would call upon the adolescents to fight and like before, very little would live. Members were already growing tired of the Alpha's violent ruling as Chiara had, but like the vanishing female and her mate, wolves after that would begin to leave. Braelyn would have a choice as well, to flee or stay but at this moment the Delta had no say to future plans or choices. Just as the spider would come into view, its dark body sulking across its creation with its red symbol, the fae would slowly hoist herself from her sitting position.
Muscles sore and still rather injured from the battle even with medical healing, it would take a few more days before her wounds would fully heal. Turning frame and leisurely walking away, the Delta paced past the spaced towering trees, figure moving with the fog in one direction while the flecks of newly snow would begin to fall in the other.

He'd given up on sleep. First it leaves him, then returns. He felt better through those days, like he had more spring to his step. But now it left him again, leaving him twisting and turning trying to get a position that it might wiggle its way into. Though it didn't work, and the chill of the night now caused his curled up body to shiver as it sunk into his pelt. And now he was jealous. Jealous of the males that had females who returned their affections and kept each other warm through winter nights. Felt envy towards them for something he wanted with someone, but couldn't have or reach. His feelings were wrong and disloyal, but other than those he was true to Agavos. He trusted that earth colored she-wolf, more so than anyone he ever had faith in. And if he had stayed in Erenyx or if she were one of Agavos' own he would waste no time in courting her. Course that might draw attention to the two of them, and they were not ones to really be in the spotlight. Even if they were Elite and Delta. Her well being after the war troubled him so, but he hid it inside. Telling himself that she was fine and they would see each other again.
But he had gotten this feeling in the pit of his stomach the day before. It didn't make him feel sick, it was more of a 'something just happened that shouldn't have' sort of thing. And by looking at the faces that surrounded him that day, it wasn't anything concerning his pack. The thought was still in the back of his mind, and he wanted, no needed to figure it out. A sigh escaped his jaws, the carbon dioxide emitting from his mouth creating a cloud of heated air against the cold pure air outside his body. Dawn would be coming soon, and he didn't want to be here when everyone woke. So he stood, his tired muscles and healing shoulder letting out a shot of complaint earning a grunt from his lips in reply. He hoped the damn wound would just heal completely soon, he grew tired of its nagging. Moving out from his den he did not even look to see if there was food, he just kept walking and as soon as he silently made it away from camp, ran. Not knowing where he was going or what the rush was for him to get out of the camp was, but he let his instincts guide him. Trusting his mind to get him where he needed to be.
He found himself at Lavender's Grace, the colorful ground being flecked white white. It was strange to think that a year ago he had been here. The first wolf to come and answer Desmond's call for new members to start his pack. But what could have caused him to come back here? Back to this place of change again at the beginning of winter. A huff of air blew from his nostrils as he glanced up at the sky, the sun apparently just beginning to grace the earth with it's light. Flicking an ear he began to walk forward, his golden eyes dancing around in search of anything. His instincts and mind refused to answer his questions, no matter how deep and hard he pushed to search for them. He supposed that they didn't know either, only that he must figure it out and that it was here. The mist swirled around his paws and to his chest, creating an eerie look to the also beautiful place. And then he saw her, seated before a web. He stayed silent, but then she stood and began to walk away. She seemed troubled and upset, but he was glad she was here and alive. The marks of the war still were evident on her body, but they were fading. Blinking he moved after her a small breathless word came from his jaws. Yet it was loud enough for her to hear. "Braelyn..."

Distance slowly but surely becoming clear, the web much like the rest of the world would go back into hiding as eyes could no longer be placed upon them. The thin threads that were once captivating the souls mind and thoughts, stealing then for pleasure and mischief, would disappear. Rolling over the blank slate of winter that blanked the once colorful landscape. The mist would form and shape itself as if it sensed a presence of life, seeking to smother it and drag it into oblivion. No one would notice and no one would fight it as the devils fog captured its victims. "Braelyn..."
That voice, the masculine rumble so distinctive it was no question she had heard it before. But there was something different about it, unheard. So out of breath it was like the source could not breathe. Quiet did it finds it's way to her auds, however able to cut through the dissolving mist and have had been enough to stop the fae in her tracks. Dare she turn around? Braelyn did not know what to think, them meeting once more like fate wished it. What was he doing here? Surely not scouring the lands like an idiot waiting for the next time she came out into the neutrals. Processing the thoughts that jumbled in her enclosed mind, only one sparked any true interest. Did she even wish to see him? After all that had been done, there was time to save the both of them and walk away. Act like she had not heard his voice or recognized the familiar brute if he managed to run into view. For what had felt like forever, rather than the reality of minutes, the Delta would turn her head, giving into fate as it obviously wished for them to meet again. Why? The fae had no clue but then, she wished she did. Green striking a pair of golden yellow, the fae could not find her words. How now they only appeared so beautiful even with the countless times they had meet before, it put her tone at a lose however the moment was short lived as her muzzle opened to release the words held on her tongue. "Hello, Desoto". Soft in its own, it had still been proficient in slicing with ease through the silent atmosphere for her friends dark ears to hear and retain.
Cold. That was what the temperature had come to, the chilled weather decreasing in a single second to drop in the night's once empty space. The frost alone on the bottom of ones paws enough to send even the mightiest of beats inside. Hibernation, she believed is what it was called and while those of terror on her species slept, it was now that the packs could roam about without the worry of anything other than themselves. Truly, the fae could not find any reason to fear the rival and companion in front of her. Braelyn having shared her story and him to her, the two were brought together by secrets and similarities. How long ago that now seemed as already the time from then to now had flown. "To what do I owe the pleasure?" Inquire now out and about, the faes interests as to why he was here was now revealed. Swinging her body around to come face to face with the brute of Agavos, with the streak of dawn rising from behind her it seemed to light his position well enough for a visual observation.
Glancing over his shadowed figure, marks of battle were evident though faded - much like her own. Agavos did not participate in the war as that had been strictly between Helidos and Erenyx. Where did he find himself hurt? Perhaps his own was thrown into another war but news like that would have by a day reached the ears of everyone in neighboring territories. Braelyn, by already knowing how the conversation would take place from previous discussions, could figure the topic would come up at some point and her questions answered. Silent turmoils of the haze picking up and casting itself over the land, it would reach the faes figure, distorting her thick fur in all directions as it forced and seeped its way past. The cold touch of its presence enough to earn even the slightest shivers to come from the Delta. Having dealt with worse, it was nothing new for the fae and with her own wounds still exposed, the frozen touch was not necessarily un-welcomed. Much like the brute.

She froze once his voice drifted into her ears, or so he hoped that was the cause. But she did no move. No acknowledgement of his presence, no perk of the ears to make sure his voice might have been real. Quietly he swallowed, his weight shifting as he waited for her to move. May that be towards the brute, or away from him. Her brown body was unmoving, her face hidden from him. Turn around Braelyn, you know better than to fear me.. Raising his head he tried to get a better look at her, without actually making it seem like so. Why she was just standing there was beyond him. Was he not wanted? Should he just leave? There was never something like this between them, they had always welcomed each other's presence. Even in their first meeting, she did not turn him away. Skeptical, wary they had been at first, yes. But the had grown rather comfortable, enough to share their pasts and feelings. Things they could not tell anyone in their own packs. Yet, now she seemed to want to reject him. Frozen she stood, waiting, possibly, for him to leave. But why? The season? Had she done something that related to him, betrayed him? He took a small step back, about to leave before he say her neck move.
Slowly her face became available to his golden eyes as he met her green ones. The scar across her eye still evident, a reminder of her past but he did not mind it at all. Still there were no voices, just silence as they stared at one another. His eyes drifted across her face, looking for any signs as to what might be going on in her head. But there was nothing. Her body was still stiff, her eyes cruel in not answering his questions. Slowly her jaws opened allowing words escapes from her jaws, a simple greeting. But for some reason it meant a lot to him. He wanted to move closer to her, but she still faced her body away, like she might bolt for it if he lifted a paw and stepped towards her. If she was afraid, he understood. However he wouldn't take advantage of her, he wasn't that kind of brute. Flicking his tail he silently dipped his head, eyes closing for a brief moment as they still held gazes. And then she spoke again, her body slowly facing towards him. He smiled at that silent message, even if it wasn't intentional to send one to the male. Shrugging his shoulders he walked forward, relaxed yet tensed. "You tell me. All I know is that I was finally getting sleep, then I woke up in the middle of the night. My instincts are telling me to go, but I didn't know where. So I let them guide me, and I wind up here. Also... I felt as if something happened yesterday. But I couldn't figure out what. Perhaps it was just me being weird then." He stopped a foot or so away from her, his head gently cocking to the side, scanning over her still healing body analyzing the injuries she sported. "What about you? Shouldn't you be resting so you heal properly from the war? Which I heard, from our recently returned scout by the way, that your pack won, congratulations."
He silenced his vocal cords, not allowing words to just spill absently through his jaws. Shaking his neck and head he shook off some of the snow that rested upon him, careful not to get any on the fae before him. His eyes would then return to her own, still trying to get into her head. Wether or not he was wanted here was still in questioning. He surely felt like he wasn't unwelcome, but at the same time, it would be better if the Elite wasn't here. Why couldn't he just read her like he read everyone else? Why did he want so badly to know what was going in her head? When did she become the only wolf that he could remotely want to spend his days with? How does she manage to make him nervous yet completely comfortable at the same time? The effect that the vixen had on him was solely known to him, he doubted she even knew. It was taboo to feel such a way, yet he couldn't stop it. He finally understood what his parents had felt. Understood why they did what they did. Why his mother took upon a fake mate to avoid an assured treason. He did not want to put her into the same fate, he wouldn't be able to stomach the though of someone having what he saw was his, but it would be the only way. However, he didn't understand why they hadn't told their sole daughter and his brother of the truth.
There was something off between them in the air, an unspoken tension as to what was going on. He felt it, and he knew he would hate the negativity it seemed to promise him. It hung in the air above them, wrapped around them brushing through their pelts. He swallowed, her body held it. The way she had frozen, her voice failing her at first to greet him. Her eyes, the way they looked at him with an emotion he couldn't name. Something had happened, something that in one way or another would relate to him. She wouldn't have told anyone of his past, would she? Exposing his blood that was a sin, even if born out of love. Something wished that was just it, but he felt as if it might be worse. Swallowing slightly he lowered his head more to her own height. She wasn't tiny, nor was he necessarily large, but he was still taller. Taking a small step forward again, he asked gently, "Braelyn.. what's wrong?" Then almost as if something clicked in his head they slightly widened. Something had happened, but why the hell he felt it was beyond him. Her scent was different, laced with the traces of her heat but that wasn't it. There was something different it seemed about it, btu he wouldn't ask. Instead he murmured, "So I was right yesterday then. Something happened with you, that somehow relates to me. Something that makes you so hesitant to be around me now. Braelyn, please, tell me. You know you can tell me anything, right?" His golden yellow eyes almost pleaded with her own. He hadn't told her yet, about how he truly felt. But he felt as if somehow a little part in her just knew. If it wasn't his past that she spilled, then what in the name of his ancestors could it have been that she acted like this in front of him? What was it that had caused her to change?

Pigmented orbs made no move to direct themselves in an opposite direction, the green hued spheres staring straight into the holes of a bright yellow. The lightness of the color standing out in the pitch black background it shared. Uncanny, did her eyes remain even as they were seemingly trapped in the golden place of the other. Greeting the male had been a simple task and yet she had managed to find difficulty in releasing the syllables held on her tongue. Still. Silence was among the two souls, it's quiet presence pressing itself between them as the gap between him and her was evident. Motioning to shove the two directly apart and at the same time, together. Why no one was talking was beyond control as the fae only rule over herself and yet she still remained hushed. Perhaps for the same reason Desoto continued to speak nothing and instead study her. That she knew as his eyes would sweep across her face and when in contact with her orbs, go solid as if he could not understand. What did he not understand? What did he wish to know that could not be asked?
Braelyn did not give anything away through expressions, practically stone and if the brute wished to know, he would have to put his thoughts into an inquire. However there were many times the Delta could recall she did in fact smirk or smile around the brute - showing her somewhat pleasure of being in his company. Nothing that she may say the same had happened around another. It was not hard to see that even without the use of words, messages could still be put down and sent to one another. As with the use of her body, unintentionally did the Delta send the other a message after releasing her own vocals to hopefully rid the unnecessary tension. With that, he smiled and Braelyn could feel the weight coming off her shoulders a bit at the fact that the brute did. All too soon was it replaced by something heavier though as Desoto came closer, her question answered as the other revealed how his once dream-filled sleeps were replaced by early night rises.
The Delta had no words to say to his suspicion though he had been right, something did happen. Something the fae had timed horribly wrong and if she could undo the deed by any means necessary, would. The Earth did not work that way sadly, and with everything done Braelyn chose not to see any reason to fear her future. Bringing this upon herself. Closer did the brute come, his steps tensed as they forcefully stepped into the snow - producing craters behind him. The Agavos wolf walked until the two only had a foot or so separating them. The proximity made the faes internal life organ beat beneath her chest faintly faster, whether from nervousness or unease at being so close, it was still noticeable to her and more so confusing. Auds twitching, the pair of tawny triangles would pick up the other mentioning the war. Word did travel fast. Supposing now would be a time to speak, Braelyn once again opened her muzzle to do so. "I should but can not. Wounds will not keep me at bay from movement as I see they do not keep you." Blinking, her lips would turn slightly into a smirk at his quick praise. "Thank you."
Erenyx had won the war and while it was victorious, Braelyn could not see how it would have been hard. The lovely Quinn had been much smaller than Teren and with size not necessarily a factor in battle, it did matter a bit regarding a wolf's speed and strength. The Alpha of her pack took down Quinn all too soon, giving the impression that war would not have been needed as he could have easily killed her after he murdered her sister Lark. Guess it wasn't on his mind at the time.. Glancing a bit upwards as the brute would be taller by a few centimeters, genetics playing a part of his height, her eyes would meet his once more. During their travels getting a closer look at the injuries he bared. "How did you come to obtain those wounds? I do not recall our last discussion you having such fresh markings." Observing the brute as he quickly shook the piled snow amongst his fur, Braelyn did not move to do the same. Letting the crystallized liquid build upon her tawny coat, dampening the first layer as it faintly reached the second to clump up her soft fur.
Banner swiftly flickering, the fae motioned the thing to her side, lowering her haunches to the terrain to be seated. The snow she once let build now descending off her as it fought with gravity. Silence seemed to be taken with the conversation as once more it plunged itself thick into their space, the speechless presence ringing into her ears as the male continued to try and read her, knowing fully well of the tension they now shared. The negative aroma she gave off herself. But wasn't that always what she had been seen as? Hasn't there always been a tension? Braelyn could only see herself in the eyes of another and in his, she only seemed to represent herself. Nothing more or less. And it was this she liked about being with the brute. With him the Delta could be herself and to jeopardize that or change the way his eyes reflected her would be something the fae did not ever wish. Braelyn liked hurting others, to watch their bodies tremble with pain or see the hurt reflected in their eyes but that was only when they've wronged her first. Desoto has done nothing to do so and for that, he might be the only soul so far she did not wish to hurt. Lowering his head further to her height, Braelyn would scan his golden hues over once more and thinking the conversation would change to a more normal one, instead another weight was pressed upon her shoulders.
How easy it could have been to blurt a simple "Nothing", but the brute gave no time for any response to: come out as the other resumed his speech. Voice a bit more stern than it was before but still gentle as he pleaded with his eyes and voice for her to share. Yes. Her problem had something to do with Desoto but she could never speak of such things. They weren't horrid just, unpleasant. Like old times - as her walls would be crushed down, in half the time they would be brought back up however Braelyn did not know if they were as stable as they once were with the male around. "Maybe at one point it did, however the situation no longer involves you Desoto; Just a girl and her miserable timing." Braelyn disclosed, the faes honey tuned vocals slightly more austere as she tried to give him the best possible explanation without really doing so. The Delta's plan had been stupid and with it, a failure before it began as she had never done something as manipulative before. There was no need to bring it up as her colleague in the plot probably would not wish or even consider the unexplained emotions she began to possess.

With the sun now slowly rising in the sky behind the two wolves, they were able to see each other more clearly. The multiple shades of brow in the Erenyx wolf's coat were becoming more apparent, where as the male was becoming less of a shadow. The mist still hung close to their bodies as the two now stood closer together, talking. The sun was waking the animals that still rose in the winter months, doing minimal work to warm the earth and its residents. Even though the time might be beautiful, the situation was not. Something had been shifted and changed, a different look in each of the predators' eyes. They had once been so open, so understanding, and accepting. But now they gazed, one concerned trying to get in, the other trying everything to keep them out of the loop. For the Elite, it was harsh to come from the she-wolf he cared for. To have recently accept his feelings he now held to just be pushed to the side without an explanation. He knew not if she felt the same, and he wasn't sure if he was brave enough to ask. For now there was only hope, that they could return to who they once were before whatever had happened between the two.
His answer to her question might have been a bit long and not so solid, but it explained himself. He truly did not know why the fates wanted him here, or why the two kept meeting alone, but that was how things were and he couldn't question it. He supposed the reason was to find out what was causing the tension in the air, but with her blocking him out, Desoto was finding it difficult to read her. He sighed as she responded to him. It was an answer to one of his questions, but didn't explain why she had been here before dawn or what exactly she was seeing in the spider web. But he felt like she wasn't really going to answer him at all. But what could it be if she wished not to tell him about it? The reason she was here obviously had to have some relation as to why she was blocking him out, he just hoped he could find out what it was before she left him. Changing the subject off of herself, Braelyn questioned his own wounds. Stating as how he idd not have them the last time they met. "Oh these?" He looked to his healing shoulder and shrugged. "Just the wounds I received when the new Delta of Agavos challenged me for my rank. Not as exciting as a war but, still left it's mark. I bruised his windpipe up pretty bad, he's been coughing and voice scratchy for a few weeks now." Part of him wondered if she even cared, or if she just asked to make it seem like she did. All he knew was that she was hiding something, and he was going to figure out what.
As he drew himself closer to her now sitting form he searched her eyes for something, anything. But she was like a princess hidden behind a think wall of stone and various monsters keeping him from entering. She gave away nothing, completely keeping him in the dark. And he hated it. It left an uneasy feeling in his heart as it cried out for her to accept his concern. But apparently his actions weren't enough. Gathering his courage he stated simply that he knew his instincts were right, then asked. Asked what had happened, asking how it related to him. And lastly, if she knew that she could trust him. But he was met with silence at first as she gazed at him, eyes like stone. Then her voice came, no longer was it sweet but it was harsh. His mind swirled as she spoke. Maybe at one point? Not anymore? A girl and poor.... No, please no. Not that please. His eyes widened as he drew his head back and way from her, blinking as he did so. His mind was blank, just trying to take in everything about it. So this whole thing about not wanting to see him, why she was tense around him now, was because of some.... moment she had with another male? Voice quiet he softly whispered, a small plead so he could be able to understand. "Why?"
But once that simple word was released form his jaws something snapped in him. His jaws clenched and his lips pulled back slightly revealing his white teeth. His eyes were now narrowed as he look at her, his body now tense as well. His voice lowered now, becoming deeper yet louder. "Why?" he pressed. "Was it even your choice, or were you forced? At least tell me you had some type of decision in the matter. Do you care for him, and he for you? Or is this just spur of the moment thing you decided to take part in?" He shook his head, turning away from her and paced. He knew he had no control over her and what she decided to do with her life but, "Damnit!" His voice was strained as his tail lashed as he came to a halt. He was overreacting, but he was always overprotective. He couldn't help it. He failed with his sister and now in a way he failed again with Braelyn. He couldn't and didn't even want to think about what had been done, his face was turned away from her. Not wanting to look her in the eyes at the moment, but he didn't want to leave either. Closing his eyes for a moment he would simply listen to any words she might have to say, his ears however were flat against his skull. She told him he was the one she trusted, so why had she not come to him if she desired something like this? Why give herself away to someone who barely even knows her? Maybe that was it, the fact that she might see that he knew too much. "What I don't see is why you would give yourself to someone you obviously don't care about and vise versa. You told me once I was the only one you trusted enough, felt at ease around. Yet now... You push me away because of something that you did, and it hurts, Braelyn. I don't understand it, or what you wanted to accomplish by doing this, but I wish I did." His voice although still laced with anger was slowly calming down, the fire in his eyes dying down. An ache now rested in his chest as well, if only she knew how he truly felt about her.
Turning back towards the fae once more he slowly approached, his eyes locking once more with her own. Only this time he wanted her to see. The pain he held in his eyes, the anger. He wanted her to understand, what he felt. Why he acted like he had, but part of him just couldn't. He had never been one to really express emotions, nor had she. But he was trying to tell her something important, and the first step for him, was making her read his emotions. "I wish I did because I care. More than you think. And more than I probably should, but I do." He stood directly in front of her now, his chest almost touching her own as he gazed down at her. A sad look in his eyes. It was not pity or sadness for her, but for himself. He was too late it appeared. What's done is done and she can't take it back. She wasn't even his in the first place, what was he thinking? And that is why he stood so close but did not touch her. She was the forbidden fruit for him. He wasn't allowed to have her no matter how much he wanted, and it was awful. "I know it is wrong, taboo even. But I can't help not..." He shook his head, stepping away from her. It didn't matter, he silenced himself. Eyes closed as he slightly hung his head before her. He shouldn't even say anymore when it was obvious how things will end up. Braelyn was the thing he wished for most, but she was not in reach for him to catch her.

Slowly would they turn, gathering and collecting the voice they had become so accustomed to detecting and listening to. Vocals deep and soothing that went along with the others matured age. Beginning to direct and change the course of the topic in the conversation shared, the fae brought up the males own wounds as he had done subtly to her just minutes before. Having noticed the flesh-showing wounds in the first few moments of the brute arriving and the Delta finally turning to gaze at him. They were not bad, nothing that could not be healed but like her own, the marks would be shown for a while until the fur started it's own repair and began to grow back. At the mention of them, she only watched as he shrugged at their sight, soon putting in an explanation like she had asked for. New Delta? Interest rose as the fae wondered what that could possibly mean had been the outcome for her companion. Had he lost his rank to this unknown stranger or was the golden-eyed wolf granted something better? Braelyn found it amusing how on their first encounter when asked about his goals how he had spoken of not having any. None that he saw himself possible to reach and yet in the months that followed the warrior was soon turned Delta and now perhaps Guardian? Elite? The Delta could not trust such predictions as she did not know how the Alpha of Agavos acted - however, she could not see the male before her becoming anything less than what he deserved and had received just a few months ago.
Listening further to the brute, a small smile found itself to be placed upon her lips. Satisfaction in her emotions at the fact he at least did something to the other to remember what he was capable of. With the end, the fae had no words left to give the Agavos brute - not sure what was left to be said about the topic as he had brushed it off so quickly. So much for changing the topic... Braelyn figured some type of comment could be said and so softly, the fae let her small smile stay as she spoke something simple. "Good." Disappearing as her expression turned neutral once more, the Delta silently sat. Finding a sort of comfort and fear mixture in the unknown of it all. It caressed her figure, smoothing her soul and jagged edges as it seeped into her blood - consuming her completely and deadly like poison. The cruel void she provided was unintentional as the silence itself followed her like a shadow; Making it harder to talk and get a proper word out to sooth the brutes own wishes.
Orbs like a razor, they would attempt to slice through the stone she had built around her soul entrance. So young to be so damaged, Braelyn had her heart in a secret garden with walls very high up. Hidden and unlocked as the Delta had never received much experience with anything some wolves would get around one another. Mother ignored her. Brother's despised her. Never having a father to care. The fae had, while in the company of ones she would call family, always been on her own. If there was one thing her pathetic excuse of a kin took from her it was her ability to trust and open up. How many times she had tried and yet got nothing but taunts from the two pearly bastards. Voice coming off much harsher than she had originally intended as the fae would explain to the male in her best efforts about the situation, Braelyn had expected no less than what she was given. Golden targets widening in a mixture of shock and disappoint, the Delta observed as the previously caring wolf took himself backwards, letting space separate the two from their once close proximity.
"Why?"
The brute would softly whisper, pleading with Braelyn and his own thoughts. Although the fae could understand if he had been disappointed, what the brute did next was something she honestly did not expect. Desoto snapped, everything stiffening as his jaws clenched and his glistening teeth were displayed for view. Gentle golden orbs now cold as he stared straight for her and she to him. Rising quickly to all fours at the sudden act of aggression, the Delta did not do so out of fear at his actions but the instinctive intuition inside her at the fact that he could possible strike. For what reason she couldn't figure out, but either way if her friend suddenly turned enemy then the Delta would be ready. Desoto spilled words, many in fact as he pressed question after question. Banner twitching at her side, Braelyn steadily watched the brute as he let his aegis slip between the syllables he released. The other turning his figure to hide away from her before yelling in frustration which in reaction caused her auds to slip back slightly, eyes finding the floor for a moment. The fae took notice to each word he had chosen and in making her reply she only formed a second short chuckle at his accusations as she came to glance back up. "Of course I do not care for him, neither he for me. My choice, while timed poorly, is already done -" Pausing for a moment, her green orbs would strike his shaded shadow at the returning mention of his last sentence. "-But do not let that you mistake me for a whore, I thought long about it and I never do anything without justified reason."
Turned away, the brute had come to a halt in his outburst of a tantrum but he did not leave. Nor did the male take any steps from his position to act like he would. The recent Delta of Agavos had no more reason to see, and if he did not wish to see her Braelyn would not judge him if he indeed took off to collect his thoughts or calm down. All too soon, the brute began to spill more words. This time slower as he silenced his burning anger and rage. She would listen, head lowering slightly as she would hear what he had to say and wait for any movement to come from him. Desoto, at that very thought turned around to face the Delta and when their eyes struck one another - no longer were hers narrowed to catch any attacks as she clearly saw what she had done. The one wolf she had specifically said the fae would not hurt had been. Not just emotionally but in his soul. It showed in his golden gaze, the hurt and anger forming all in one emotion to coat his eyes. Immediately did her chest plummet, solid spring green descending down to look anywhere but at the pain-stricken male in front if her. Understanding now why he had acted in such a violent manner just moment ago.
Auds traveling to place themselves upon her head, Braelyn could not do anything other than listen to what the male had to say next. They struck her, painfully so as he continued to come closer and while she could not see his face but only his chest and below. The distance between the two was obviously limited as he stopped just centimeters from her form, his masculine scent directly in line with her nose as she now did not dare look up. Braelyn couldn't but with his final speech, she forced herself to meet his face. Green tracing his saddened features as Desoto once more put space between them. Head hanging low and silence washing over them. But this was different, no longer was the quiet soothing as it became clear the male had no more to say. And that frightened her. Sighing, the Delta would lower herself to be seated, jaws parting to whisper barely loud enough for him to hear. That is whether he wished to or not. "Nor can I." Hues finding the snow, the fae would target the plenty-full white substance as she let herself become silent for a moment. Such a confession indeed did the two share. "I push you away for you have already had this fate. I do not wish to bring the past forward and hurt you.." Tone soft, there was very little reasoning with her last words. She had already hurt him, unintentionally yes but it was still done. Banner swaying to shield around her paws, Braelyn kept her gaze focused on the landscape. Afraid to look up again.
"If only for a moment please speak. While I am content in my silence, I can never be in yours."

Good was a simple praise, nothing too special about it. But at least it showed approval, so that was a good thing. There was nothing else to say about however from her, he left no room for her to comment. Well that would be true if he had stated his new ranking, which he hadn't. But the she-wolf made no move to speak more about it even if she was wondering if he had won or lost. Truthfully he couldn't answer that question. No winner was officially announced it seemed. The fight was stopped, Desoto moved up as did Altair. He could ask Desmond, but it might make him seem egotistical and conceited. And those two things were never a part of his soul or in his wishes. He served his life for others, even if it didn't seem like it. Never once had the Elite asked for something extraordinary, most of it just to be excused in a situation that was too hard for him to handle mentally. But it seemed when he asked for something, or someone, fate had a love to play his life to be harder than it needed. Pulling his strings to see how far he could bend till he broke. In response to her he nodded twice, even if it might be a tad late. "This means you truly do need to step up your game, Braelyn. I've surpassed you now, not that it really matters for us." He shifted his weight after that, silence consuming them as he stood slightly uncomfortable.
And then he opened his jaws, asking something he was obviously not prepared for. And the answer he received threw him so off-balance that he crumbled to nothing but anger and sadness. He snapped yelling things he never really wanted or would say to her. A whore? He wouldn't think of her as such a thing. She, although not pure in mind, was never one to give her purity away without careful inspection and caution. Or so he hoped. Her reasons had to be justified one way or another, even if he couldn't understand them. There were females out there who were such a being, but he avoided them at almost all costs. He had no interest for there desperateness and so called "needs," so why should he force himself to get into their knowledge of possible bachelors? There was no reason to. A growl came from his jaws at her thoughts of him thinking she was one of those worthless wolves, deep and aggressive, even though it might come off a tad differently. He spoke onto nothing about it, how would he respond without giving his feelings away? 'No Braelyn, you're too good to be a whore, I just said it because I can't bear the thought of you being with any male besides myself in such a way..' There was no way to do such a thing, so he held himself back from commenting on it for now. Instead he kept pacing, torturing himself as his mind came up with images he truly couldn't stand. He wanted to yell and scream more, not at her though. But at his own sleep-deprived mind for putting such a thought into picture that only he could see. Shaking his head as he paced he shut his eyes forcing them away before they could corrupt his mind further. Eventually he slowed to a stop as he just held his face away from her, but not leaving. Never would he just want to leave her alone, especially now.
And then he let her know...
He turned his head to her, locking his emotion filled eyes with her own as he allowed her to see him now. Her narrowed eyes slowly softened as she realized why he reacted in such a way, but she quickly looked down. Not able to meet his eyes and he wanted to lift her chin to make her look at him, but he didn't dare touch her beautiful form. Instead he walked forward, his voice coming forth to speak for his feelings. He came close to her, close enough to have her in his reach. A small step forward and his chest would be pressed against her muzzle, but he didn't take that opportunity. He held himself back while he watched her even though she wouldn't look at him. He understood, and that's why he stopped himself and stepped away. His eyes closed as his head lowered in defeat. He noticed she had looked up after his last words, but she hadn't said anything. Not yet anyway, and it was like he wasn't being accepted, and it filled his heart with dread. But then her soft whispered voice came to his ears. The words filling him with shock, happiness, and hope. His eyes opened immediately as his head snapped up to look at her, his jaws slightly agape as he did all he could. She was looking down again and then she continued. She felt the same, but pushed him away so he didn't have to repeat his fate? Just so she couldn't hurt him? A warm feeling settled inside him, that was all it was. Not because he knew too much or wasn't deemed worthy. Braelyn did not wish to cause him anymore pain.
He must've been silent for a while because she then pleaded for his voice. For him to say something to sooth her fears. He smiled softly but didn't say anything. He stepped forward, lowering his head further. Once close enough her gently brushed his cheek against her own, applying more pressure as he went down to her chest and under her chin. He lifted it along with his own and guided it towards his own body as he wrapped his neck around her, keeping her close. "I don't care." He murmured softly. "I don't care if my past has to be recreated again for our future. If I have to take in a pup, if it comes to that, of ours, so be it. I only ask if such a thing happens that you tell the others of us and who they are. Leaving out no detail, and I will do the same. We can't deny our feelings, Braelyn, only accept and decide what we should do with them. You shouldn't have to worry about hurting me, not about such things. I am only hurt by what you did, but I can accept that it happened and in a way it was for me, I suppose? Not that I approve, obviously. And to ease your mind, I am sorry for what I said. You are not a whore, your intentions were pure even if I don't completely understand them. You could never be such a thing. It's just my jealousy speaking more than my head, forgive me." He pulled away, so he could look in her eyes, needing for her to see the honesty in them as he continued to speak. This wasn't easy for him to do, and anyone could find them now. But he had to do it anyway, and he would.
"You, and your sneaky little ways, have somehow managed to wiggle into my mind and heat. Ever since the night we met upon that mountain's cliff. I don't know how you did it, but you have and the emotions I feel with you are foreign and I can't fully understand them. You are a constant topic in my mind, always there. Your voice, your image, everything. When I lay in my den at night unable to sleep, I can not stop my mind from bringing you up. Like I said, it is wrong for me to feel such a thing for a female not in my pack, but to Hell with the rules! I feel at ease around you, maybe not in the moments before or now, but I do. You accept me and whatever type of brute I am, and it means more to me than you'll ever know. I can't have you completely, I know that even though I wish it wasn't true. I can't return to Erenyx, and I can't force you to leave but I am here, always. Some call what I feel affection, but I would prefer the term love. A foreign emotion to me, I don't understand it but I sure damn will try. But what I feel and know is only for you, only can be accepted by you. You have to tell me what you want from this. From me. Please, love, I need to know before I probably embarrass myself further.."

White.
That was all she could see. The pigment was plain, colorless in its whole as it blanketed the once hue-varied landscape. Coating and covering every crease and crevice in its path to were nothing was untouched from its frozen grasp. It was the only thing available and in sight of spring optics, the hues battling with the clean and perfect color of nothing as they blended into one another. Yet at the same time, missed by just centimeters as vision would be draw to the cream shaded paws that had come into view each time the orbs gazed down to see what was out of the ordinary in her perpetual view. How the wind blazed through her coat in a soft manner, the deadly chill wrapping itself around her figure. Earning a slight twitch as the bitter fingers found her skin. The fae had no wish to succumb to the harsh environment, yet even as her paws became numb to feeling, laying here in the snow until frozen did not seem at all that terrible. It would take her mind off of the fact of her actions and it would set her free of the weight on her shoulders that only wanted to shove her down deeper. There felt as if there was no escaping what now faced her, and to what she spoke continued to feel more like a bad decision as the brute near stayed hushed.
Braelyn hated it. The vulnerability, the awkward silence that hung above their heads as they shared emotions and thoughts. She hated how this caused her to suffer, how the male got under her skin enough to where the Delta could not shake her ever-growing feelings that she had desperately tried to deny and forgot these past few months. It was something she could not explain and at the same time, could effortlessly if she wanted too. This was all so new to the fae, and as much as she was afraid to gaze up, her emotions terrified her even more. Anger, hatred, excitement - the generics were what she was known to but this.. this void, warm sensation was different. Strange and certainly slightly uncomfortable. Auds pinned faintly near her skull, Braelyn left her eyes to the perfect white beneath her, the fae unsure of what to do next as her banner gracefully flicked to her side to wrap around her paws. Minutes passed for what felt like hours, time seemingly restricted from moving forward to continue the story-line that was her life.
Listening to the possibilities of moments pass by, the Agavos brute chose to seize one, her auds catching the sound of crunching ice crystals as he walked. Whether away or closer she did not know. That was until a black source disrupted her colorless gaze, immediately catching her attention before she realized he was closer than expected. Braelyn's heart nearly dropped to the pit of her chest from beating so fast as she felt the male slide his face against her's: muscles stiffening at the touch. It was more.. affectionate than she was use too - or that's how she interpreted the gesture, anyways. With a soft force, the Delta's face was lifted up and pulled toward the male that naturally caused the fae to stand from her seated position. Green orbs now face to face with a pitch black that resided on the brutes shoulder as he wrapped his neck around her own. The act comforting and in the seconds she stood there resisting the natural urge to pull away from the close proximity, Braelyn found herself enjoying the moment. Body relaxing as a stroke of a strange warmth waved over her. Involuntarily breathing in Desoto's scent, the fae pressed her muzzle into the space between his neck and shoulder. Instinctively closing her eyes as all she focused on was how this felt and how the brute made her feel. The Delta felt safe in his grasp, like she no longer had to worry or be on alert until they had to go separate ways. It was odd, to say the least. Nothing remotely what the fae was use to.
Murmuring his words, Braelyn gave her attention to what the male spoke, listening to every word and every detail of them as they came. The fae supposed her actions were for him as he put it though if she was to really think about it, it had been for the both of them. Even if at the time she had not known of his feelings or her own. Lost in the blur of everything happening, as her mind wandered so did Desoto and it took the Delta a minute to realize instead of a black, she was staring into a deep golden color. The emotions screaming out of them as he forced it to show. Braelyn stood still and unwavered, not sure what to do but listen and hear what the male had to say. What did one do in this situation? Was it impolite to sit or look anywhere but the face of the other? The Delta was not above looking into someone's eyes but nevertheless she didn't necessarily find it that comfortable either. The entire thing was too intimate and right now, this had to be the most awkward eye contact she has had with anyone. In that however, there was something that just dragged her in. Made her focus on nothing but his eyes as she could not look away. Maybe it had been his words and the complete honesty behind them or the fact that he felt how he did or the entire circumstance but Braelyn was lost. Lost on what to do, how to act or what to say. It was as if she was a pup again, staring into space as her brother's talked their nonsense and she could not relate to whatever the hell they conversed.
Noticing now that the brute had finished, the Delta's mouth parted slightly as she tried to find her words, something- anything to say in response. Eyes gazing to the side, the fae began as what was more obvious to her and probably him. "You have truly put me at a loss of words." Tone gentle, she would pause for a moment to gather her own strength before her orbs would strike his and she spoke a bit more openly to her thoughts on the matter. "Desoto, you have gotten under my skin. Destroying whatever walls I was holding to keep you at bay and like a virus infecting me until paralyzing death, the whole thought of you has taken root deep in my heart. Becoming something I can not shake or run away from as it eats me from the inside-out. And I hate it."
"I hate how you have found yourself a home in my every thought and I hate how I love you. I love you Desoto, something in same I have no knowledge of and it literally tears me apart how much I wish things for us could be different. How I wish I can go to Agavos and live 'happily ever after' with you or you to Erenyx but that can never be. How I wish I was exposed more to this feeling between us so I would know to handle this situation. But I don't. And neither do I know exactly what I want from you Desoto. I have no idea but what I do know in this moment and now is that I want you Desoto. I want you to stay true to your words now and not walk out on me like everyone has in my lifetime, I want you to be honest and truthful to yourself and to me. What we both wish for, are you sure? Because if your answer is no, while it may hurt I will walk away, I will forget this conversation happened, I will forget about you and you will never see my face again until our packs are at war and any feelings I have for you now are nothing but a memory."

He was met with silence.
His confession, it took every ounce of will and mental strength he had to say to her. It might be unexpected, out of line, and certainly wrong, but it was the truth. He could not fight the feelings he had for the girl before him, no matter how hard he might have tried. They had stuck with him, played with his mind and forced him into a state of conflicted feelings and an emotional wreck on the inside. How many days had he spent pondering over what things would be like had he initially stayed within the pack of Erenyx? Too damn many to count. The same amount for if she had come along too and lived in Agavos. They could be curled up in his den, her belly holding his pups and not someone else's. He could have been the one to take care of her, to hold her when she cried out in pain. But that wouldn't be him. Nor would it be anyone most likely. She would be alone at home, receiving help from others. However the emotional bond he could provide would not be replaced nor given. A feeling of embarrassment and dread held in his chest as he waited for her response. His eyes almost begging her to say anything. Well, not anything. He didn't want her to reject him. Cause that would make this ten times worse than it already seemed to be heading. And then as her jaws slowly parted to speak, he became hopeful. Eagerly awaiting the sound of her voice. But nothing came. Um, what?
She then looked away, her green eyes breaking the connection they had just formed. No, please don't look away. Look at me, Braelyn. It's just me. Even if you don't feel the same don't just- His mind shut up as soon as the first sound of a word drifted out from her lips. Rendered her speechless? Was that a good or bad thing? He wanted to ask, but he kept his jaws shut as she snapped her orbs back to his own. Captivating him in just one look. She had him wrapped around her paw, and she didn't even know it. Her words, figuratively worded to form a perfect image in his mind. If there was one thing he envied about the vixen, it was her way with words. He grinned sheepishly, unable to deny his persistence when they had talked before. "'And I hate it'" That knocked his smile on his face clean off as he could only stare at her in confusion. Did that mean she hated him? Wait, she isn't done, idiot.
Each time the word 'hate' came from her lips he winced a little. Wishing for her just to stop saying the word. Stop saying what the hell she hated about him or what he has managed to do. Get under her skin, she'd gotten under his own too. But did she find it really all that bad? But even with the words she spoke after the dreaded one, he could only feel some sort of happiness. He was ever present in her mind, as she was in his own. But what if she didn't want anything to do with him anymore? And with just one word all those thoughts of doubt and possible heartbreak left him. Love.
She loved him.
Warmth, happiness, and fear all settled in his chest. So this is what it felt like. He now understood his parents, a tragedy paired together. Once they exposed themselves to each other, they couldn't simply forget. He could understand why they had committed treason against their own homes, he wanted to do the same. Why? For Braelyn. She was all he could see now, he green gaze locking with his golden one. Her scent drifting delicately into his own nostrils. This moment, too good to be true. But there was also the fear. The fear of being found out, the fear of being rejected by his own children once they found out the truth. The fear he now held for her as she returned home to the place he had no right to enter. She wished for it too, their existence together. But knew it could not be. Neither would go Rogue, nor raise their own children in that environment. Plus, Desoto happened to know a wolf out there who had a special...fondness for young ones. I want it too, so badly. He remained silent, not daring disrupt her words. If he were to even chuckle it would mess her up. They were flowing freely from her jaws as she continued to stare at him. He would be polite, the gentleman he had always been around her, and let her finish her words before he could say anything more. Besides, he was enjoying the emotions swirling in her eyes and voice. And what man would ever turn down the confession from the female that brings him so much joy and comfort when in her presence?
Leave him? Oh no, that would not do. Forget about him? Even worse. He would have no such thing even be said again from those jaws of her's. But was he really sure? Did the elite really want to go through and recreate his past? His eyes narrowed down at her, a small growl coming from his lips. "Hell, no. I won't let you do that to me, to us, to you. No." He stepped forward again, pressing his forehead against her own as he stared into her eyes. The upmost sincerity in his eyes. His tone was still soft, but slightly husky and uneven from the rapid beating of his heart. "You want me to be honest, Braelyn? My heart is torn two ways. To loyalty and to love. I'm stuck in the middle, and I don't know what to do. All I know is that I want you. I want to care for you like any brute would for the she-wolf he loves. I want to be the one to curl around you at night. I want you, in every way possible. But I'm chained, bound, as are you. And I want to scream my head off at night when I think about how much I want you there with me. Lulling me to sleep. But god-damnit!" He shut his eyes for a brief moment and sighed. Swallowing the lump in his throat he reopened his hues. Whispering softly as he stared at her. "I can't walk out on you. I can't. If I could I would've done it long ago. I'm sure of what I want Braelyn. Are you? You've already- He swallowed uncomfortably. "Got a father to your children. Do you really want me to mix myself with them?" He waited for some indication of her answer. A word, nod, or some other type of body language before he nodded. Pulling his head back he moved to her right side, brushing his head along her shoulder for a few moments. Every cell in his body was filled with nervousness and yet certainty pushed him forward. He wanted this, she wanted this. They had the chance, all they had to do was take it. Moving slowly he pressed his body against her side, leaving his scent on her own. Probably wasn't the smartest idea, but for the sake of his mind he needed to stake his claim. Braelyn was his, in heart, soul, and mind. And he wasn't about to make this moment between the two like her time with the other insignificant male.

There was an unsettling feeling. Something that was not being shared, being told and exposed to the world they now stood in. If the life before had ever fallen still, hushed in the dead of night or day as time dragged on in an essence of certain eternity, those had never met the situation now. It was worse.. or better. The fae had no conscious thought as they all jumbled together, her focus gone and abandoned as it left a statue. A solid, rigid surface that as the moments went by would crack, forming fractures in the material that would completely collapse apart in any second. Braelyn spoke: she said every word, every syllable that formed her sentences from her muzzle with a clear and stressed tone. Revealing anything - everything that the Delta was feeling in that moment and in the past from the start of it all. Of this.
Gazes clashing, she never moved her view away from his own. Watching with a keen eye how his grin came and fell, how he winced only slightly at a specific word she used; nothing was unnoticed and nothing was missed by her eyes as she carefully observed his motions. And then there it was. Something she never thought would spew from her lips and yet it had. Braelyn loved him. The fae did not fully understand the emotion, she did not know if this even was the foreign feeling or just the season making her lust more heightened. The Delta knew very well this was wrong, so wrong however this was meant to happen. As a fae which believed in everything happened for a reason, Braelyn could not help but see how fate wished this and instead would stop fighting herself. Accepting what would become of her.. of them.
Caught up in the moment, more of her emotions showing now than she had ever shown before the Delta was slightly confused as all of a sudden she saw Desoto's golden orbs narrow, the raspy sound of his growl slipping from his muzzle enough to draw her back from whatever blank state she had been in seconds ago. In the time between the end of her speech and to now. Unable to react fast enough, the fae was moved back only a paw step as the male came closer, his forehead pressing against her own and nothing else in her sights but the deep gold of his hues as they stared at one another. As she had before, Braelyn froze. Trapped in the color with no other choice but to listen to what the Agavos brute had to voice, she stood - heart beating rapidly and her lungs heaving as the fae would have her full attention on him. Desoto's speech seemed like poetry, his voice pleasant upon her auds as she listened and eagerly awaited the next sentence he had conjuring.
Lips lifting to offer a smile, Braelyn would let her eyes close as she finally lowered her head away, thinking about which words she would choose to answer the male she held close. Faintly smirking and looking back up, her gaze softly met the brutes. "As far as I'm concerned, you are the only father." The Delta was ready to be with him, he undoubtedly had her heart. Earthy fur mixing with the shadowed wolf as he brushed against her, first at her shoulder before moving downwards to completely cover her side in his scent. An aroma she gladly accepted though she knew before going back to Erenyx she would have to get rid of it. The Delta, nervous and excited at the same time, for the first time in the presence of the male let her banner sway happily.
