| The shelter was lonesome now with the sudden disappearance of Cheshire. She felt irresponsible knowing she had let her partner slip away like so, but what was she to do in any case, she could not force him to work, and there wasn't all that much work to do in the first place. However, the silence was too loud to bare for the clean state of mind she now held after some time to herself and her happiness. She didn't wish to put a dent in that now, not after trying to fix it since last year when she had no one left to depend on for joy and comfort. Incapable of staying in the healing den, even after finally finding some rest ad peace to herself for even a little while, she took the liberty in escaping the area without a sound. The ground was now soft as spring finally reached, surely the pack will be filled with plentiful numbers, however, she was a bit skeptical about the disappearances in Erenyx. She had hope that the new apprentices will fill that empty gap, but kept it quiet for that she didn't want the same horror brought to this new life. Cliche half-expected the male being such gore to have a sense of knowledge within that numbers are what strengthen the pack. He'd be a fool to allow that much potential, let alone power, to go to waste.
With little worry, she took a whiff of the floor and kept her head low while her ears stayed pointed and alert atop her head. Tail calmly swaying, she moved casually through the clearing on silent paws, hoping never to disturb the peace found ironically among the barbaric pack. She'd never forgive herself for breaking such a moment of serenity while the sun began to set off into the horizon. Perhaps it was best she be in her station, providing thyme and lavender for those most restless before they go into their dens for the night, or honey for a sore throat so that they may sing with their lovers towards the full moon, actually. However, the lead healer continued further and further away from the camp and into their nearest territories that which the pack claimed as their private ground to explore without intervening packs. As little knowledge she had of the land, the healer observed her surroundings and took note of her marks so that she may return in the darkest hours without getting lost. How unfortunate she may be if she were not careful - she could only imagine the worst having already gotten to her. Eventually the moon will be at its highest, cloaking the territory in it's fine pale light while the sun will be gone elsewhere. And as for that, the atmosphere began to get darker - the light lavender pinks fading into that of a dark blue. It won't be long before night will settle and the creatures of the dark will emerge for a game of chase.
And with the company of a family of crows lined along the trees, the fae hummed happily for them as she walked and they'd caw back in unison. They seemed delighted, and watched over her as if she needed proper protection and a lovely companion for her late stroll. Cliché never minded them in even the slightest. The deeper and deeper into the forest she went, the more she began to take key opportunities to mark her tracks. And as she had expected of, nightly creatures scampered from their homes and into the bushes for food. She too, took the granted chance in fetching a badger that put up a nice fight, but the crows encouraged her for the better that the meat could be of greater use. She spared the life quickly and dined alongside three large trees to grand her shelter from the wind. Meanwhile, a few crows accompanied her below as if to share the meal, however they seemed less interested in it as soon as she tried to tear off a few pieces of the meat. Cliché did not wish to disappoint them, so she set out for a little while to fetch some berries and smaller game like mice for them to eat, having hid the badger's corpse in the pit of a tree's roots until return. As the wolf and crows ate together, she found happiness in the little family she stumbled upon and felt a bit of an ache in her heart as she began to miss the times where she'd eat with her family. The past will always catch up - and as will the fire she saw so long ago she could never forgive herself for with the death of an innocent. THANK YOU MALIA TATE FROM ADOXOGRAPHY |

| L y o n i t u s . . . | With the season of love and lust coming to a painfully slow close, the hormones of the wolves were died down and dormant. The bellies of the already impregnated she-wolves swollen and full of growing and maturing life. Many of which had already birthed the little hellions into the world. In Erenyx itself, there were few faes who dared to take upon the feat. Although a pack, the system his brother ruled by was none to recommended for raising young children. And with the event that happened in the previous spring, which he was not present for, it almost promised a fifty percent chance of death when just being born. Though the death of these children did decrease the possible numbers for the group as a whole, Lyonitus understood his Alpha's actions. Some things had changed from his last rule, and some did as well but still stayed the same. Teren preferred his pack to be strong rather than have weak links. Previously, he had not even allowed female pups to have a chance, and elder kidnapped ones were solely there to breed once or twice until they were murdered. He had improved, but, yes, he still killed off the weaker ones one way or another. And that is what the people of this land failed to see: Teren isn't as awful as he used to be. The blood of the brothers' would never be innocent, he understood that, and there would be many that disliked them. Even in the black brute's current rule, he could hear the murmurs of gossip and hatred about the old guy. About him sometimes even. It was the part of the life as a family member of a supposed hated family, and he took it in stride.
Night have been a sort of sanctuary in the winter months. He didn't have to hide away from the desperate females that only wanted their desires to be sated. And that one she wolf, who he hadn't bothered to learn the name of, the one he had brought as a token for Teren was gone. Disappeared. Probably, hopefully dead. He never wanted to see her again. She was fun while it lasted, though he never would have given her what she might have wished from him. Back to the topic at hand, nights were peaceful. The same went for all the seasons, including the current one which he disliked; Spring. Most were sleeping and therefore witnesses were lesser. He could be himself while alone, the big goofball that was hidden under the hardened "I'm an arse" exterior. Tonight was no different, and as he pranced around, tail held high, the redwood forest he caught a scent. A very familiar one. Taking the risk of either being accepted or aggressively asked to leave, the Elite approached. Not loosing his current playful manner. The Lead Healer was a vixen he had some sort of affection for. Love? He doubted it, it was the very thing he promised would never happen to him. To fall in such a spell was like falling into a ravine with water and sharp rocks at the bottom; Death. But the she-wolf was different. For some reason he had treated her with empathy, an emotion he hadn't felt or expressed since his younger days. She seemed to not belong in the pack of demons, but yet she fit in so perfectly. Strong but good. A combination he had never seen before. So perhaps that was it, the thing or quality that intrigued him. Nevertheless he wanted to get closer to her, even is she found him as a pest.
As he stayed in the shadows, watching her exchange with the crows, he was both confused and amused. Who plays and socializes with those damn birds? Pesky little vermin. She then trotted off, hiding away her kill of a badger and searching for something. Perhaps a meal for her friends who refused to eat the large rodent-like thing. Leaning against a nearby tree, he softly rocked back and forth, awaiting her return as he relieved some of the tension in his body. His eyes were closed until her scent became stronger, her form entering his line of vision. She gave them food, little mice and such. Caring... and with them she dined, on her own personal feast. A meal that looked like could spare a few bites for a brute like himself. But no, he would be a gentleman tonight, or as much as he could be. Instead of just eating her meal, he could take it. Show off his innocent intentions and then perhaps join her and the birds. Crouching low he stalked forward, using the shadows and bark of the tree to his advantage. He made sure to stay downwind, taking in the target's scent but it not her own. And then, with a large leap, he burst into view. A grin stretched on his face as he landed before her, between her and the black birds who flew up into the air cawing out in protest before landing a few feet away. Bending his head he quickly gripped the smaller animal in his jaws. Moving away as fast as he came, he bounded a yard or so away. His tail was wagging playfully and a mischievous glint in his bi-colored orbs. The flying things that had moved away form him now returned cautiously back to their meals, pecking and tearing away at the smaller flesh. He kept his eyes on the girl however, lowering his head in a playful challenge. Either she'd leave the meal to him, or she would chase after him in a game of keep away. He wondered what she would choose. |

| Eating peacefully, she hummed whilst tearing through the meat and stripping it of its coat rather cleanly and as professionally as she could with a set of sharp teeth. Her scarred muzzle, now healed over but completely noticeable, soon was covered in the bloody pink shade as she ate quietly among the crows. They seemed just as at ease as she was as they dined happily in each other's company, and she didn't so much as bother to wonder what called the murder of crows to stick closely together. Though she couldn't quite say she ever complained about anything other than the loneliness she felt waking to an empty den and nothing else. Perhaps her station when it was a mess or her supplies was out of order, but she truly never complained about anything. It was a nice quality to have, she thought, but there could be far better abilities, ones which could help her make a lasting impression on this place of theirs. However, as much as she chose to blame Teren for her despair, she knew he was the ruler she would choose overall between him and the former leader. Though she couldn't bring herself to say it aloud, and that was what hurt the most. Before she could begin gnawing hungrily at the limbs and feasting on meat surrounding the corpse's bones, the earth near her stirred. Just when she had thought it was the wind, a dark brown mass leaped from the area and into her breathing space. As the sound rumbled from the weight and into the ground, the crows scattered and flew up in a fleeing mess of calls and fluttering black feathers against the blinding white light from above. She squinted at the skies where they fled and glared back down at the creature with an appalled expression. The most they could get out of fear from the fae was a mild gasp of suddenness and stiff limbs, but she did not scream or cowardly back from it like most perhaps would.
With the force of the leap came the overwhelming familiar scent of the familiar male, the supposed Elite male of the pack, taking on her ex-mate's rank. So it hadn't been the area that smelt of strong Erenyx after all, she thought, noting silently to herself that the odor was a bit prominent for just her in the territory. Glaring furiously at the two-toned, but rather handsome male, she snarled just before he could dash away. She hadn't noticed he had captured her kill and snuck with it in escape till she saw it dangle from his jaws. Rising to all fours, she curled her lips over her sharp mouth and struck an annoyed glance in his direction. The crows eventually found themselves back to where they were, but kept aloft the situation between both wolves. She was in no mood for games, and stood there without giving him the proper satisfaction of playing one with him at any cost. They fed on what she provided them while she was being antagonized by someone with greater years - the idea in itself was highly ironic. It irritated her to the core to have her only bit of peace shattered and toyed with. "What are you, a pup that can't catch his own meals? Grow up, Elite." She spat, letting him have the meal and turning on her heels to join the crows again as she did. Cliché was fully aware he'd perhaps come back to her and bother her, like he always did in order to annoy her. It seemed to be a reoccurring thing between them, and she particularly did not find a fondness to the fact he was specifically in her ex-mate's former rank. They were beyond the same wolf, yet within the same element of strength. Lifting her chin high, she huffed and sat protectively near the crows, trying to regain her composure before she snapped at him. After truly knowing the wolf, she feared little of him and did not care what rank he held against her own - she'd fight him like he was her equal, and treat him as such unless forced to otherwise. 700 WORDS LYONITUS NO NOTES THANK YOU MALIA TATE FROM ADOXOGRAPHY |

| L y o n i t u s . . . | She was shocked for a moment, as he bounded away with her meal. But that shock soon turned into annoyance and anger. Through his playful attitude and mischievous eyes, he could take in every message she was currently sending him. And none were positive. His tail waved to and fro behind him, trying to get some other reaction out of her. The crows had settled back down by then, their beady eyes glaring at him too. I feel greatly outnumbered.. For whatever reason his body language began to change. His head raised and tail lowered. He cocked an eyebrow up at her questioningly. But then she insulted him. Telling him to "grow up," and spitting his ex-rank out with such distaste it stung. He couldn't deny it, he winced as she turned away. The burn from the demotion only adding to the wound of the cold shoulder she was giving him now. She's chosen birds over me. What is more degrading than that? Closing his eyes, the elder sighed in defeat. Cliche wasn't the she-wolf to play around with the blood of an enemy. But for some sadistic reason, Lyonitus found it absolutely thrilling.
Except, of course, in moments like these.
Walking calmly back towards her, careful not to scare away her precious woodland friends. They looked up at him, watched him carefully. Some ruffled and flapped their wings in warning, but he paid their movements no mind. He didn't want anything to do with the birds, he just wanted the species of his own that sat with them. Cautiously he took each step, never taking his eyes off of her stiff form. She was attempting to remain calm, to refrain from yelling at him. She was doing what any lady would do; keep her tongue in and dangers hidden. He came up behind her, maneuvering his body around her own but careful not to touch. Lowering his head he lay the badger at her paws, gently. And as he raised his head he softly murmured, "Elder." After resuming his full height he stepped back a few paces. His voice then becoming a little more rough with a bit of a bite to it, but it wasn't directed at her. "It's Elder again. Teren threw a fit and demoted me. Guess I am just a worthless piece of dung. My own brother sees me nothing but a damn fool." He chuckled darkly, his laugh devoid of any humor. "And you as well. I don't know what I did to you to deserve this treatment. Anything that I said or did wrongfully to you I apologized for, and yet you treat me just like everyone else has. And I thought that you might be different. That one night of Satan's Cliff... I actually thought I had found someone else to confide in; to trust. To get to know me and like what they see not because of Teren but because of who I am. But you're just like everyone else. Blinded by the demon's hellish actions towards you and the awful thing that your damn ex-mate did to you that you won't even take the chance. You've given up, Cliché. What happened to that fae who didn't hesitate to put me in my place? Where is she? Because she sure as hell ain't here anymore."
He shook his head and turned away, walking back into the lines of trees. He paused then, not bothering to turn his head back. He knew, despite her closed of demeanor and jabs, that she was still grieving for the losses she had made. But what the wolves of Erenyx and she needed was hope. Even if he was empty of the emotion it didn't matter much for him. He was getting old, nothing extraordinary was going to happen to him. But the lead healer had her whole life ahead of her.She couldn't let this one tragedy ruin her. "Your son, the one who fell of the cliff during the battle of pups... did they ever find his body? If they didn't, how do you know for sure that he's dead? He might be alive, waiting to come back. Don't let him see you so broken when he does." |

| The honey colored she-wolf stiffened slightly in her spot as her packmate neared around her ever so quietly with her own kill, only to unexpectedly release it where it had initially been and correct her from earlier. She didn't move or make another quip at that, she was wrong in this sense, but mildly confused as well. Looking to the older wolf now, she narrowed her gaze, as if she were indirectly asking for answers from such a quarrel, but knew she wouldn't be receiving any logical explanations in the end. The healer turned her gaze back to the crows, her gaze softening as she'd turn her ears backwards to listen, the anger fading as well as the tension in her shoulders. Instantly filled with regret as she held her snake-like tongue, she sighed and internally asked for forgiveness, but refused to believe that was enough. Her tail brushed at the back of his front paws slightly before he began moving away from her, the figure which blocked the sun from her average form now leaving her to the rays of light covering her once more. He did not deserve that, at all in fact, he had been so kind to her out of freewill, and all she had done in return was complain to his petty little tactics to create a fire in her. At that point, he made her fur ruffle so much that it blinded her from all the good things, and perhaps a life filled of darkness was not healthy, but what more could she do. It was difficult to move on even still, but little by little she tried. Lyontius just seemed to be one to pester, and then heal it again after all the bickering that was said and done.
Please, don't go... Cliché winced silently to herself at the sound of paw-steps fading away from her, the crows fluttering off and away from the wolves, in which made the distance even more noticeable and lonelier. She stood up slowly, peering quietly to the Elder with hurt, sorry-filled eyes; amber shades of a dull flame just waiting to be rekindled and brought to life with tender-loving care. The healer inhaled heavily and brought up her head, keeping a leveled, strong gaze with the other, "This fae has not given up. She's fighting, and trying to survive little by little. She may not be perfect, but she's sure as hell trying a lot better than most around here to stay sane with him in control." She couldn't help but feel somewhat angered by such a statement, though he was right. The she-wolf knew that she was losing her self-worth and confidence in a dark place like this, but it was home, she knew she didn't belong anywhere else. Perhaps she wasn't the same wolf last season, but neither were any of the individuals here. Change is never-ending, and war most importantly has made quite the impact on some of the members that still remain. As he'd turn away from her, Cliché would huff and snarl loudly to grip his attention back onto her, "I know rules are to respect your Elders, but I ask of you to come back here and to speak with me like the Lyonitus I knew would have." She said in a stern tone, holding her ground and paying little attention the crows which nestled in the branches above her. Their beady eyes trained on the wolves below as a strange audience to be watching.
As her son was mentioned, all feeling was then lost. She looked at him as if she was drowning, though in slow motion. Her body grew numb and cold, however of course she had thought of all the possibilities of him being alive. She still had some hope, but she was never sure of what could happen. "All that's below Satan's Cliff is water. No one would find his body there.." She stated, having looked over the cliff-side herself with a sheer hope he was floating or perhaps swimming to the closest shore. But being that the tides were high that day, the chance was quite slim he'd survive at that age. "I don't. You think I haven't thought of that myself, as a mother? I tell myself every morning that he's out there, but I also tell myself that he might not be. I don't know, Lyonitus. I.. don't know.. And that's what hurts the most." Swallowing hard, she forced down her feelings and shook her head quickly to erase it from her mind, but there was no doubt in it still being there to taunt her. "..And that doesn't change anything for the rest of my sons." She whispered lastly, always keeping all of them in mind, at that. Quietly nodding to his last words, she stood still and looked at her paws, swaying slowly to herself as a small coping method. It was one of the easiest, quickest ways to slow her pulse. Exhaling slowly, she lifted her head back up and closed her eyes, allowing her muscles to relax before she'd get worked up again. "If he's alive.. I just hope he's healthy and safe.. wherever he is." It hurt her internally knowing the possibility of him alive and having not seen him, but she knew the consequences surely enough. She didn't need him in Teren's sights, most importantly. 897 WORDS LYONITUS NO NOTES THANK YOU MALIA TATE FROM ADOXOGRAPHY |
