| It was a near perfect spring day in Pyrvanthros. The sun was at its highest in the brilliant blue sky, the wind blowing just enough to cool a wolf down. Large brilliant violets were sprouting from the ground, their flowers so vibrant they drowned out everything around them. Even the breath taking view of the mountains beyond the valley, seemed dull in comparison with the sweet smelling blooms. Treading through these flowers, her thick pelt collecting pollen as she went, was the form of a fae. Her thick skull, and broad shoulders easily seen over the tops of the high flowers. Yet she didn't seem to care as she ambled along. Her sturdy paws carrying her at a gentle pace as she went, her nose twitching. Inhaling deeply, Tatsu sighed. It felt good to relax some, to enjoy the wonders that spring brought. No more worrying about the prey, no more frozen whiskers, no more trekking through belly high snow. No, spring had arrived and it was in full swing. Bringing with it a new sense of purpose for the newly appointed Delta. Ever since arriving in Pyrvanthros she'd been battling her feelings about her past. Attemtping to overcome the guilt that rampaged through her heart. A nearly impossible feat, now made slightly better. Being a Delta meant she had to shove away those feelings, that she had to step up to the plate. Take on the responsibility awarded to her by her alphas. A subtle push in the right direction for the once lost fae. |

~Chassity walked along the grass fill of violets as she took in the nice view. For once the land she roamed looked happy. The flowers in the ground complimented the view greatly. Autumn originally was her favorite season, but the beauty of the land made her quickly change her mind. In her old tribe's territory, there were only trees; the good was that the red leaves made the place a littler prettier. Her favorite season was now spring. The warrior roamed freely as she allowed her piled thoughts to fly away. My thoughts shouldn't point toward the Barbain tribe. It should point to the Pyrvanthros, where I long to stay. My service is due here, and it's where I belong. The warrior had to repeat it in her head multiple times to allow her weight to truly vanish. It wasn't going to healthy for her, or the pack. She was soon distracted. Her gaze went towards a mostly brown she wolf who looked a tad bit similar to herself. Chassity padded toward the wolf confidently. "Hello," she said when she was away from the wolf. She didn't want to frighten her. "I don't think we've met."~ Made by @Arrelys |

| Tatsu's head swiveled in a swift yet smooth motion. Her pale yellow oculars snapping onto the form of a grey she-wolf with bright blue eyes. Her voice calling out and meeting Tatsu's thickly furred ears. Tail pulling up just enough to snow her rank, Tatsu turned towards the fae. " Greetings newcomer." She murmurs, her voice as usual was soft with a fierce undertone. Her pale oculars difficult to read in the blinding sunshine. " It's true." She adds in reply to the fae's comment. " I am Delta Tatsu. Who might you be?" She inquires, able to scent distant lands in the she-wolf's fur. Having stood still when the she-wolf called her name, Tatsu allowed the fae to come to her. Her eyes roaming over the stranger with mild interest. Taking in her form, the way she carried herself, the tone of her voice. She noticed the confidence in her stroll, the fae's large size. Concluding she must be a warrior Tatsu gave the smallest of smiles. It wasn't something she was good at but something she'd learned was necessary. Allowing others to see she wasn't as cold as she came off as helped her in the long run. She wanted to be respected as a Delta not feared or disliked. Awaiting the fae's response, Tatsu spread her paws allowing her weight to be distributed evenly on all four paws. Her nose twitching she does her best to avoid inhaling too much of the sweet smelling pollen which clung to the flowers around her. Although she enjoyed the smell, she didn't much feel like having a sneezing fit in front of the newcomer. The last thing she wanted was to look like a fool. Especially in front of a she-wolf she'd likely be training one day soon. Mind wandering, she couldn't help but wonder if the fae was any good in battle. Having craved a good spar, since the one she'd shared with her fellow Delta Xerentis. |

~Chassity paused briefly when the wolf's tail was erect with dominance. From that movement, she could tell that the wolf nearby was high ranking like the lead hunter she met. But something told her that they were too different. The she wolf kept her tail down and slowly walked closer toward the wolf. "I'm Warrior Chassity. Pleasant to meet you, Delta Tatsu." The she wolf looked at the delta without looking into her eyes. Her blue gaze remained emotionless. "I'm new to Pyrvanthros." The wolf dipped her head with respect. When she caught the wolf's smile, she returned the favor, but it was less obvious. Smiling wasn't necessary her best skill. She couldn't help but think that Tatsu reminded her of herself. ~ Made by @Arrelys |

| Tatsu relaxed after she was shown the respect she was due. Her tail slowly coming down, her shoulders relaxing some. There was no need for her to hold her dominant position over this fae, who obviously knew her place within the pack. So instead Tatsu dipped her head slightly. " The pleasure is mine, Warrior." She murmurs in reply, her piercing oculars scanning over the fae's averted blue ones. A pang rippling through her heart as she noticed the resemblance this fae held to the only female pup in her litter. Shoving it aside, Tatsu tries to refocus her mind solely on Chassity. She was no longer a warrior, part of her job as Delta was to get to know the pack members of Pyrvanthros, including this fae before her. " So... Chassity tell me where do you come from? " She inquires, leaving the question rather broad. Allowing for a simple answer or a prolonged one. Either way she'd given them a conversation starter. Meanwhile, she set her paws back in motion, beckoning the warrior to join her in her stroll. Finding no reason to stand still while they spoke, she found her paws setting a steady pace. Her pale oculars glancing sideways at her new companion. Still difficult to read they looked slightly warmer than before, the sun making them seem honey colored instead of piercing. |

~Chassity trotted quickly to Tatsu's side, but slowed down so that they were directly side by side. "I came from the Barbain tribe," she said simply. She wanted to keep her phrase short, but she felt like adding more. "Growing up there was very rough. A soft member wouldn't last there. There were always fighting. It was rare that a day would do by without blood on the floor. Thankfully, my mentor taught me essential skills. Handling myself was one of them. When I rose to the rank of lead warrior, the fights started pointing toward me no matter how I tried to help," she paused. The last sentence could be a bit misleading to the delta. She would wonder how the fights lead to her in the first place. "The fights would happen because the higher ranking wolves treated subordinates like they were nothing but bugs that crawl under their toes. Most of the pack members didn't take it well. Battles started raging from left to right for opportunities to receive higher ranks. Everyone want respect, but it was impossible to get it with a lower rank." Chassity glanced to the side to check of Tatsu was following her words. "With my rank of lead warrior, I tried my best to treat everyone with respect. But I failed... There were far too many arrogant, disrespectful wolves with high ranks. I had hope then, but it all vanished when I attained the rank of guardian. From then, I knew I had to leave when I had the chance." The delta's question brought memories to the warrior. She began to see the images of blood, teeth, raised hackles, and more blood. It was as if those pictures were right in front of her face. Chassity didn't realize that she kept shaking her head to the side. It made her feelings obvious--which she didn't like. The warrior immediately stopped moving her head, but didn't bother to look to the side in case the delta had thoughts about that.~ Made by @Arrelys |

| Tatsu strolled along in silence at Chassity's side. Her head occasionally nodding, her eyes flicking to the warrior then ahead assuring her she was listening. She had yet to learn much about any of the wolves pasts within the pack. A result of her often withdrawn temperament. She however was striving to do better and felt encouraged by the fact Chassity was comfortable enough to open up to her. When the fae finally finished speaking Tatsu could tell she was struggling with her memories. That same look flashed within her eyes. The look Tatsu wore so well. " I'm sorry you had to go through all that." She murmurs, her pale oculars flickering over the fae, then forward. She could tell the she-wolf was now uncomfortable, that her memories we're too much to bare at that moment. " But I'm glad you escaped and found your way here. Pyrvanthros is a pack of second chances. I think most of us are running away from something in our past here. Together though I think we'll learn to stop running." She says thoughtfully, her voice soft as she glanced back to her grey companion. " Or at least... I hope so." She finishes the smallest of sighs escaping her black lips, her face lifting to the sky as she glanced at its vast blueness. Her own past threatening to creep up on her.

~"I can tell," Chassity said slowly as she thought of her word choice. "Being victims of our past will bind us together--and allow us to form a special bond. Something other packs will not be able to take from us. We will be strong as one. We will no longer run away, but we will stand together under one name, Pyrvanthros." The warrior paused and looked beyond the Violet Sanctuary. She began to vision her pack standing in one line while they face the issue that challenged him. Head up, heart strong, they refused to back down without a fight. A smile began to appear on her face. The was what she always wanted in a pack. She believed in Pyrvanthros and from then she knew her heart would devote itself to pack mates. Her intense blue gaze went back over to Delta Tatsu. "Where did you come from...before joining this pack?" The warrior asked. She didn't expect to for the wolf to give every detail; however, she would like for her companion to at least give her an idea of where she came from. Chassity didn't get her hopes up too high in case the wolf opposed to answering.~ Made by @Arrelys |

| Tatsu's broad head swung back down to look at Chassity once more. Her black rimmed oculars eyeing the warrior as she spoke. She respected what the warrior was saying, appreciated it even. They were beliefs she held close to. Her hopes for the future of the pack. Again attempting a smile, Tatsu nods her skull some. " That is what I hope." Tatsu murmurs, her eyes returning to their surroundings. " We all deserve at least that much, I think." She continues her voice still soft. Realizing the warrior no longer followed her, Tatsu slowed to a halt. Allowing her muscular haunches to sink amongst the flowers, she sat facing her pack mate. Her thick ears perking some as a question came her way. The one she always dreaded when connecting with others. Feeling trapped Tatsu hesitated, her eyes fixing on Chassity with great intensity. Could she trust this fae? She couldn't see why not... She was a new wolf yes but seemed devoted to Pyrvanthros. Her values similar to Tatsu's. " I don't often share my past with others." She says in all seriousness. " I do hope we can keep a certain understanding here. That anything I am to tell you will not be repeated to others. As your past will not be repeated by me to others. Our past is ours to tell and no one else's. Agree'd?" Not waiting for a reply Tatsu continued. " I come from the north. Far from here nestled in a large vast valley lives the Nothern Valley pack. They are my birth pack, and as far as I'm aware they're still around..." Eyes distant Tatsu looks away from the fae, and to the peaks of the mountains which surrounded them.
" My brothers and I were heirs to the Alpha pair. My parents ran are pack strictly. Believing firmly in the unity of the pack. Out of our litter they chose me to follow in their pawsteps. I was more than eager, sucking in all that they told me..." Shaking her skull some, Tatsu sucks in a small breath as she continues. " From the moment I set a paw outside of the nursery I was training in the ways of our pack. Everything and anything I could be taught my parents drilled into me. In particular the art of being a leader and lots of battle training. It was a good life for a while, a quiet one. Our pack was healthy, strong, feared even... But as you might of heard the saying 'good things don't last.' Well that was true. On my second birthday I was given a chance to 'prove' myself to my parents. To show how much I had learned. I was eager... that was until I realized whom I would be displaying my talents on... My own brother Valor. He'd been caught fraternizing with outsiders. I know my brother... He was not betraying us in any way but my parents did not feel the same way..." Huffing Tatsu's gaze looked bitter. " But being eager as I was I agreed to show my brother a lesson. I believed it was for the better of the pack... that it had to be done." Shifting her paws some Tatsu, lowered her nose a little revealing a half moon scar running over the top of her maw. Her eyes though they looked at Chassity were far away. " I sent him away bloodied and battered but with his life. He managed to give me this scar... A reminder of my actions I suppose..." She murmurs shaking her skull in disgust with herself. " After that things only got worse. My mother she became ill, weakened with age. She started to prepare for my accent to the Alphess position. That's when she decided I would need a mate. Not any wolf though one she hand picked. " Tatsu's eyes became darker now like storm clouds had invaded them, clouding her eyes. " I of course fought the pairing. I was young, bull headed, independent. I wanted nothing to do with being tied to a male. Especially not one I hadn't chosen. But over time he won me over, Maseo did. Not long after that I was pregnant with his pups, and we were happy... so happy." Her voice was wistful, hollow even as she went on surprised at how easy it was to just keep going. How good it felt to let it all out, the truth, the whole truth.
" Then my mother died and it all went to hell. Maseo challenged my father for the position of Alpha as was tradition in our pack. Despite his best efforts and a valiant battle, he lost...." Tatsu's voice almost broke, she had to swallow hard to prevent it. Not wishing to show how much pain these memories were causing she gritted her teeth before continuing. " My father then proceeded to murder him... He killed Maseo for no reason other than he felt like it. Cold from the loss of my mother I suppose. Or perhaps he didn't wish to give up his throne or perhaps he just liked it... I couldn't tell you." She spat her words now fused with anger. " I couldn't do anything about it either. I was heavily pregnant with my pups. I had to stay within my pack or risk them dying. I couldn't lose them too. Not after Maseo. So I remained within my pack, ruling alongside my wretched father. Then in the spring I gave birth to my pups. Three healthy babes. " The anger in Tatsu's voice melted away slowly, replaced by an ache. " I spent six months with them, teaching them all I could. But they could sense my depression. They were hurt by my struggle to connect with them.. with anyone. It broke my heart. I was there but not there... Does that make sense?" She questions, barely even noticing Chassity was there anymore. Not waiting for a reply she continued, tone solemn. " No matter how hard I tried to move past Maseo's death I couldn't. So I left... I may of hated my father, been disgusted with his actions. But I knew the rest of the pack would care for my pups. Better than I probably would ever be able to.... That night that I left, they awoke in the middle of the night. I could hear them calling for me. I could hear them.... their voices... I will never forget..." Falling silent Tatsu bowed her head, her shoulders tensed. Guilt bubbling in her chest like a rampant fire. It was nearly a solid minute before she was able to speak again. " I spent a while on my own, trying to figure out what to do with myself. It wasn't until I wondered close to Pyrvanthros that I finally settled back into the pack life. Hoping it would give me back those pieces I'd loss when Maseo died... I'm still hoping." She admits as her story rounded to an end.

~Chassity saw the delta sit down among the flowers and decided to follow. The warrior slowly rested her behind on the grass and relaxed her shoulders. Relaxing was something that she didn't do often. The wolf listened to the higher ranking wolf as she elaborated on her past. Everything seemed to go fine until the delta's mother died. A pain stabbing feeling entered her heart when Chassity found out that her companion's mate got murdered by her own father. That reminded her of how she felt when she realized that her own father killed the only wolf she loved in the Barbain tribe. However, she couldn't relate to the pups much. She never really knew the feeling of love towards more than one wolves. Just one. She even made it clear to the wolves in her hold tribes that she never wanted pups. Not in that pack. Having kills from here to there, it wasn't worth it. When Tatsu finished, the warrior shifted her attention back to her companion. Her thoughts were still alive. "I understand that you often don't share your past, Delta Tatsu. I swear on my that this wouldn't be shared to anyone. Everything you explained is going to stay between us. I promise," Chassity dipped her head, wishing that she could look into Tatsu's eyes. "Now that you told me about your past, I will return the favor."
Chassity sighed as she thought of where to begin. "I spent my whole life in the Barbain tribe. I believed that I was born to two guardians, but the treatment I received didn't prove it. Whenever there was playtime, I avoided at all costs. When I first tried to join, the other pups, including my sisters, would give me the cold shoulder. They would tell me that I should die alone and that I didn't belong there. I reported such treatment to my parents, but I felt like they didn't care. Nothing would improve. Absolutely nothing. I felt very vulnerable knowing that they couldn't protect me from the smallest things. I started to feel resentment," the warrior looked to see if Tatsu was following. She then went back to explaining her past. "When my time of apprenticeship came, my two sisters received betas as mentors. My mentor was Corinth, a warrior. I didn't like my alpha's decision though deep down I knew they were punishing me for my actions days before. But I also felt like they held a hatred towards me, but I didn't know why. Vanice, my mother tried to comfort me, but I didn't take it well. Her and I never shared a true, genuine connection. Why did I get lesser treatment when I am her daughter also? During my months as an apprentice, I worked very hard. Corinth made sure that I was always on the top. He knew of my struggles of being treated horribly. I could tell that he had been through it before. I knew that everyone expected me to fail."
The warrior took a breath. Honestly, she felt great about proving her whole tribe wrong. They never underestimated her again. "My warrior ceremony came much earlier before every other apprentice, even my two sisters. They were very jealous. One of them even told the alphas that a 'daughter of the unknown' shouldn't be first to get a higher rank. Oblivious to the truth, I defended myself. It all went down hill like a spiral after my biological father confessed. It all made sense. Perhaps that was the reason why I was treated unfairly. My father barely paid attention to me; my 'stepmother' and I never had a real connection like she did with her pups. That was the most crucial moment of my life. I didn't know who my mother was and from that, part of me was missing. The days after the truth, I avoided everyone--except Corinth. Despite my lack of social life, I still did great. I even got promoted to lead warrior at three years old. The alphas actually wanted to replace my father with me to be their guardian. My father didn't take it well; he was adamant about that. He was willing to fight me to the death. Imagine that? I turned down the opportunity, but I was eager to tell Corinth about my compliments. That never happened. On the same day, I found him dead. As I was examining his body, I saw my father approach me with an evil glint in his eyes. I was angry. I was very angry. He knew Corinth was important to me. During our argument, he taunted me. He even lunged at me and tore the back of my ear." Chassity bent her neck forward to reveal an ugly scar behind her ear. "I tripped him and sunk my claws deep into his chest. I wanted to finish him off, but I couldn't I needed answers about my mother. Automatically, he told it all. From there, I learned that my mother name was Cassidy and I was born in the Donaran tribe, where the brave and strong wolves were. The direct opposite of the savages I had to live with. He killed my mother to keep his status. Then he said something that startled me. 'Now I'm deeply regretting keeping you alive'. When he tried to attack me again, I killed him. Immediately after killing him, I felt two warm presences by me. I knew they came from my mother and Corinth. Wolves, especially Vanice, were torn when they found out of my father's death. But that worry was shortly forgotten by the alphas. They appointed me as their guardian. I served them for a year before I left between a pack war."~

| Tatsu was grateful when Chassity took up speaking. She felt drained after telling the warrior about her past. Exhausted like she had relived the entire thing, right there and then. Assured the warrior would not speak of her past to anyone, Tatsu inclined her skull. Her pale oculars fixing upon the fae as she opened up further about her own past. Listening in silence, Tatsu nodded occasionally to let the warrior know she was indeed listening. Her oculars usually so cold and hard to read, softened as the warrior explained that her parents weren't really hers. That the wolf she believed to be her father murdered her only friend. Tatsu sucked in the softest of breaths when the fae reveled she killed her own father. It was something Tatsu had wondered if she should of done. Ending the life of the monster who'd took her beloved. But Tatsu's father hadn't tried to kill her. She could not with a clear conscious murder another without good reason. Revenge didn't seem like a good reason, not to Tatsu. Chassity on the other hand had been left no choice. The brute she'd believed her blood had been determined to kill her over a position. Shaking her skull sadly, Tatsu's eyes flash with sympathy. " You may not of belonged there Chassity." She murmurs when the fae finishes. " But Pyrvanthros needs you here. Don't ever doubt that." She says her voice firm. She would not tolerate wolves of her pack treating others in such a manner. Never... She thought, her pale gaze looking over Chassity and to the mountains. Imaging her pups now nearly a year of age frolicking amongst the flowers. Sighing she shakes her broad skull, rubbing pollen from her nose with a large paw.

~Chassity felt a little touched by the delta's words. Something that was rare. The warrior rarely revealed feelings or even have them. She was stone cold from ear to toe. That lit a spark in her. The feeling of being wanted was beyond of what she could express. "I'm here to stay. From the moment I stepped into these lands, I felt like my heart lied here. Whatever happened in my tribe won't define who I am today. I will be here and do nothing but my best at Pyrvanthros. That's a promise I'm willing to make." The she wolf sighed and looked around the scenery. ~ Made by @Arrelys |

| Eyes drawn back to Chassity as she spoke, Tatsu listened. Her pale oculars flashing radiantly in the blazing sunshine. Her head tilted slightly to one side. For once she seemed to had broken the ice between herself and a pack mate. Let her walls fall to the ground and reveal her softer side. It seemed Chassity had done the same, her words greeting Tatsu's ears warmly. She gives a smile, and this time it succeeds in showing warmth. " I'm glad to hear you feel that way." She says as she once again finds her paws, rising to them. Here she paused and stretched her back arching high in the air as she did so. " I will hold you to that promise." She adds, her pale oculars a bit more serious. " We need that sort of devotion around here. It is key to Pyrvanthros' success as a pack." Imagining the future Tatsu fell silent, allowing her muscles to relax now as she stood. After a brief lull in conversation, she sighs. " Well I hate to cut our time here short but I have duties to attend to." She admits thinking of the borders. Spring would surely bring newcomers with it. So she would be one of those in charge of keeping a careful eye out for potential joiners. " I'm sure I'll see you around though..." She inclines her skull slightly. " It was a true pleasure getting to know you Chassity. If you ever need anything, please don't hesitate to ask." With that the thickly furred Delta, turned and trod away. Her mind blissfully quiet. As if a weight had been removed from it.
