She gazes. "She sings." She believes.

The weather was fair that summer day, or so she at first thought when waking up. Later on however, the sun started to really beat down on the Erenyx lands, it was almost too much to even dare adventuring into. A part of her wanted to remain in her den, but she knew better than anyone that there were duties to be done before resting. She was lucky sometimes to even catch a meal between checking on the station and eying the pack whilst doing a run down of a health census. So far everyone seemed well beyond average and quite full of energy even despite the growth in temperature. After doing inventory, the healer shook out her pelt from all the debris found in the den and finally forced herself out of her station to get some fresh air. She wasn't too fond of the sun shining directly in her eyes as she entered the outside, but she adjusted gradually to the lightning while continuing her travels to the heart of the camp. Cliché treated herself to a light snack, nibbling off a smaller hare from the food pile and filling her stomach enough for a nice run through the neutrals. She figured it was the best medicine to go running and find some new material for healing agents and poultices. It only took a few moments in time to be spared as she enjoyed her meal before bringing herself to stand and begin trotting, which phased to a steady sprint through the land. The terrain soon then changed from pack to shared territory, the smells of all four packs colliding as one as well as the fresh scent of herbs and flowers lingering through the atmosphere.

Eventually, the fae came into contact with an array of light and dark pink blossoms coating an entire pasture not far off from another pack's borders. She stayed clear of any others that may be lurking, though as she soon realized there were no other scents in the area, she relaxed and kept low within the tall flowers. The smell of the blossoms soothed her to the core, putting her in a trance that could most certainly send her to bed while it was silent in the meadow. Cliché swayed quietly with the wind against the pink flowers. However, silence soon became a distant memory as the sound of crackling wood made her ears twitch backwards. The pasture's odor was overcome with a burning smell, making her nose wiggle with distaste before her eyes shot open to look at smoke rising from the blossom trees nearest to her. Behind her was a line of fire coming in from the west, though it was covering as much ground as it possibly could in short time. Soon, if she wasn't quick enough, she would be surrounded and burned alive. The amber-fiery eyed fae didn't suit well in this environment, it only brought back fearful memories of the past, and she was in no position to repeat them. Quickly on her paws, she sprinted back in the direction of home, but was distracted and forced backwards as a burning cherry blossom tree blocked her path, sending burning embers up towards her face. She hissed and turned her head at moment's notice, rearing back swiftly and taking the easiest direction she knew, even if it led her to another pack's land.

As she stared into the approaching flames, she couldn't help but feel as though she could not move. Memories began flooding back, and the helpless cries of her pack rang into her ears, she could recall the fire that separated all of them. It forced her into hiding and surviving on her own, and while that fire seemed to make her stronger, she always questioned the safety of her family in the end. Shaking her head, the smoke began to feed into her lungs and poison the oxygen within them, making her scoff and slow down as she kept going. This was not good, she needed a way out, but could hardly see through the fire where a proper exit was for her to take. And honestly at this point, she couldn't remember the direction she even came from, and the sun was long gone from determining her path back home to safety. Panicked and unsteady from the burning sensation in her eyes, she threw back her head and howled to whoever was near her in hopes someone could save her, as she couldn't save her own hide.

For an aging brute, wanting to deal with extreme, obnoxious heat within the possibly very last years of his life, is definitely not near the top of the list. Since the summer started, there had been a constant grouchy expression on his face, and he had become rather snarly. He wasn't sure what to do in the summer, other than go to places with water to lay in and hope they hadn't dried up. But today was the hottest of all, and in the lands of Erenyx which didn't have many trees, it was not the best place to be in. He hadn't been to the Redwood Forest since his last encounter with Cliché, even though it was the place he could think of with the most shade. For some reason he couldn't seem to bring himself back there, a weird thing to thing about but he didn't questions what he felt. Everything was for a reason, and for a wolf following instinct, to go against just that was unnatural. Growling at the sun for creating the heat that it did to torture the plants and creatures on the earth below, the elder stalked out of the territory before breaking into a lope to find some shade within the neutral territories. The addition the heat did not help the tension that grew in the pack as members grew tired of Teren and his rule. To tell the truth, Lyonitus was sick of it as well. The bond of brotherhood doing nothing for the support that his brother might've hoped to have for at least two or three of the present brothers. But as far as he knew since the border where he'd been demoted, Baritos wasn't too fond of brother dearest either- which would make for good fun once the Alpha was challenged.

Reaching the land of Blossom Pasture, a place of sheer beauty with it's weeping cheery trees whose branches fell to the ground Lyonitus felt something other than the peace he normally was. No, this was a feeling of dread. There was a mistake in him coming here, to the place he admired for his beauty and peace. Something terrible was bound to happen indeed. However, the wolf could not say what exactly it was, no one would surely know until it happened. He knew he should leave, but something told him to stay. Tilting his nose up into the sky, he scented the air. A feint, yet increasing, scent of smoke... An omen of only one thing. Fire. Eyes widening in a moment of realization, Lyonitus' body froze in a split second of panic before reacting. He rushed forward, no not away from the area; through it. He didn't make a sound of panic or terror, simply just followed his instincts of telling him to run in that direction. A wall of flame steadily began approaching, hungry trails fighting to reach a thing to burn first. Embers flew in the air off of the trees. With them they carried the dark heavy air of smoke that made it harder to breathe. And as the smoke began to surround the large male, he wondered why his instincts still told him to run within the flames, was he ready to die? But then there was a howl, one he recognized. Perking up at it he immediately sprung into action. Cliché! She was in sight, but a tree was falling. Rushing forward, he ducked his body as low as possible  to make it under the timber. The heat singed the fur on the tip of his tail, but within the adrenalin he failed to notice it. The sole healer of Erenyx wasn't facing him, but he could tell she was having trouble breathing, like he was becoming. But he wouldn't let them die here, he still had a bit of a kick within him. Widening his jaws as he slowed his pace down to a halt when he reached her, the elder gripped the scruff of her neck, pulling her in front of him before lowering his body and tossing her on his back. Raising to his full height he began walking forward while ordering, "Bury your nose and mouth into my fur to help stop the smoke. You've inhaled way too much, but you need to stay awake. Two eyes are better than one. I'll carry you, and you help look for a way out. I don't care if you don't like it, so don't bother about complaining. You're going to have to put aside your unreasonable hatred for me if you want to ever see that missing son of yours."

She gazes. "She sings." She believes.

Lost and confused as the flames grew higher and fuller around her, fearing this would be the end, she looked frantically back and forth for a source of refuge, but was fruitless in her efforts. As her song would hopefully be loud enough to hear over the roaring of flames within the pastures, she became full of doubt once it was not reciprocated, that was until a figure dove into her range of sight through the ring of fire. She was afraid that it had been an animal spooked into finding a way out before it was consumed by a hell-hound's breath, or perhaps a demon of some spirit here to reap her soul and drag it back where it came from. The creature was large, but as the flames grew closer and it darted forwards, the light soon highlighted the other's features. Lyonitus. Despite the situation at hand, she would have guessed this would have been the only time she had ever been so grateful to see him. Too in shock to even notice, the large wolf had grabbed her at an instant and thrown her atop his shoulders, her snout wedged between both blades and the scruff of his neck. Shaking her head, though not in any mood to argue, she held onto him as best she could. Given the height difference, there was some hope for her at this level after all. There was an exit, to some extent, but the measures to take while getting from here to there was a risk she was willing to steer Lyontius and her into. Whatever damaged remained she would fix after some recovery - some dangers were worth taking.

Though given the fact the wolf was still an Elder, she trusted the idea that he knew his way around things and could hold her weight long enough to escape. "Not far west of this circle, there's an opening where the fire has not scorched yet. Stay low. The timber seems to be getting weaker, so we'll have to make it fast before we're forced into the dirt and burned alive." There was no time for suger-coating, if they wanted to make it out alive, he had to be aware of what he was getting himself into, while saving her as well. Breathing low, she blinked a few times and got a hold on her surroundings - the flames were getting closer. "There's a chance we can make it, but you'll have to jump over a log. Can you handle that with me on top of you?" She asked, but could reason with no response, but simply trust in return. Her ears flattened against her head, tail tucked close to her while her legs dangled away from where his limbs were.

The added weight of another on his own, was something he wasn't too fond of. His back would be hurting later, along with his legs and lungs. It would require every ounce of strength and determination in his body to save both himself and the healer. He could not understand her, not to mention that every time he'd think he'd have it, she'd add another twist and path to reach her head and heart. He tsked, a green and silver-brown eye looking around for the nearest exit as his voice spoke aloud to the she-wolf on his back. Each time he shifted, he could feel exactly how her weight pressed down onto his body. I better get some type of bonus points for this, considering how I am going to hurt after. He was strong, and could hold both their own for a while, but certainly not forever. His age came with all it's downfalls, and he dreaded the day where he had to wobble around whenever he walked. The day he would need someone else to look after him more. But with the way things were going down in Erenyx currently, it was almost definite that he would not have that kind of support. Mentally he shook away the thought, it was not worth thinking of now. His ears perked at the sound of her voice, turning in the direction she mentioned, he saw what she had found. It was risky, but it was the only way out. Taking a few steps forward he attempted to get a better look at what they were going to have to deal with. Lowering his head, his tail swayed and flicked once behind him. "I don't have time to think wether or not if I can do it, I just have to try. Because standing still is sentencing us to death, and with movement we're at least attempting to stay alive."

The log wasn't too high, but jumping over it with Cliché..? That was something else. Drawing in a breath the former Elite began to run. He focused on keeping his body fairly level for her sake. His job was to get them out of there, the she-wolf just needed to keep an eye out and stay with him. As the burning log came closer and closer, Lyonitus' desire to stay alive only increased. The flames that danced on it's surface held weapons of heat that would not be missed. He could clear it, he knew that he could get over it. However he would get burnt paws in the process. But that was the sacrifice, he'd have to make. Crunching his body together, the wolf leapt off the ground, his fore-paws and legs moving through the heat smoothly, but not safely. His pads began to burn, and he knew his hinds would be given similar treatment. He could only hope that the pretty vixen on his back wasn't marred. Sucking in a harsh breath, he refused to stop, running on forward to the way out. The tree above was growing weaker, daring the two wolves to take the chance. Cursing under his breath, Lyonitus would then call out, "Move your head to the side so we can make it! You can turn your head into my shoulder so your eyes don't get burnt!" Lowering his head as well, he sprinted through the untouched ground, holding in a sigh of relief at touching cooler temperature. The timber above them crackled but he still ran on, not slowing until after they made it through the second obstacle. He was not harmed in this one, other than his current burns complaining, but he did not know about Cliché.
