| She trotted to the outskirts of the clearing, and made her way to one random den. She assumed that the two wolves might have already been out doing random warrior duties. Her tail patted her heel in a rhythmic beat, just like her heart racing. She sniffed the air, and realized suddenly, she had no idea who she was looking for. She had no idea who Warrior Drogo or Warrior Nnyla looked like, or where they reside. She didn't want to call out for them, looking like a lost fool, and breaking the silence by doing so. She didn't want to follow Aurora's scent all the way back to her den because what if she then thought she was pathetic for not following simple instructions such as find two wolves. She scratched her neck to brush the dust and winter slush off her fur. She shook herself, and sat once more. Waiting. Hoping sooner or later one of the two would stumble upon the calm wolf, or if she didn't find either, then go back to her den, make it suitable, and hunt for her dinner, or she could just ask around. Her best option for now was just to sit and wait. Waiting. Hoping. Still waiting. Should she ask around now? Yes. No, not yet. Maybe soon. She sighed and flicked her ears in annoyance. Still waiting. |

| (ooc - hey there! Just a tip, usually threads meant for specific peeps are discussed previously via the chat box or thread with person/s involved. But it's cool. Did you want just me or both me and Drogo?)
The Warrior Nnlya had ended another amusing lesson with her student, Lead Hunter Eclipse. The brute had progressed quite a bit since he first asked for her help. She found it sweet how he asked her to teach him the ability to fight in order to protect his mate and soon-to-be-born pups. But after today's workout - of which she was rather proud - she decided a quick afternoon snooze was in order before she patrolled the borders. Along her way she admired the spring weather. The twittering of young birds reminded her of the pups that would soon grace the packs numbers. The idea of having pups of her own intrigued her and she hoped for them someday, should she find a suitable mate.
On the outskirts of the Pack Clearing, she passed a number of old den sites. Previously used by wolves who had abandoned them in favour for one with their mate. Nnlya's den was of course further in, near the Beta's den, so as to provide a good view of the clearing and any goings on therein. Outside one such Den was a raven-furred fae. Scenting the air, the warrior could tell she was new to Helidos, perhaps only a day in the pack. Silent paws sent her closer as she called in greeting. Hello there! She trotted forward further, her tail wagging lazily and a grin upon her face. Though her senses we're always on high alert for any sign of danger from the fae or their surroundings. You're new here, aren't you? Well, welcome to Helidos. I am the Warrior Nnlya under the rule on Alpha Azul and Alphess Lucy.
She stood tall and proud before the fae. Despite her dirtied, multihued coat of charcoal, coffee and cream, she felt she was a rather imposing sight for any wolf that might mean harm to her pack. Her cerulean eyes scanned the clearing before returning to the fae. Nnlya was cautious, knowing that some wolves who joined the pack could be dangerous. Being a loner for so long that they forgot the customs and traditions they were bound by. The warrior waited patiently for the younger wolfs response. |

| The morning had brought with it the warming cascade of the spring sun's rays. It had been a morning just like all those before it since his arrival. He rose before the sun and took to the forests to train. Keeping his body and mind in their prime was of utmost importance to the warrior. He had a duty to protect those who shared these lands with him, and protect them he would. Chattering song birds signalled the full morning arrival, and the end of his training. Large paws kissed the earth gracefully as he trotted back towards the camp. The malleable soil conforming to the contours of the pads of his paws with every step. With spring came new life, in every aspect. Trees would see the return of their bountiful cover of leaves, flowers would rise again to bless the ground with their enchanting hues, and most notably, the arrival of wolf pups. A flicker of excitement danced within him at the thought of the pups that would soon grace Helidos with their presence. Several females were expecting pups in the coming weeks, and bring cheer and delight to the faces and hearts of the wolves.
His time as a pup had been short lived. Training and honing his skills to be the best fighter he could be had begun so quickly. In body he may have been a pup, but not in his mind. From the earliest moment possible it was drilled into his mind, and the mind of the high born sons that they were to be soldiers. Soldiers who's sole purpose was to protect and serve the king. And while he knew that the same cruel fate would not fall upon these pups, he was bound and determined to ensure their puphood knew nothing but hope and joy. As the camp clearing came into view, a familiar face greeted his eyes. A smile tugged at the corners of his lips though his naturally hardened features stiffled the full extend of the smile and muffled it to a mere light grin. A new face sat near Nnlya, ebony fur covering the body, though her eyes held a familiar color. The same enchanting blues that shone brightly from Nnlya's own eyes.
He approached the females and allowed his head to dip into a courteous greeting. The obsidian female smelt only faintly of Helidos. A new addition, only a day or so if he were to guess. Glassy amber eyes shifted back to Nnlya and settled. "Good morning Nnlya, I see you are making new friends." he said, trying to lighten the usual rough tone of his voice. He allowed his gaze to shift back to the newcomer. "Greetings miss. Welcome to Helidos. I am Warrior Drogo, proudly sworn to serve our Alpha and his Alphess." he said nobly. Training took over as his position assumed its usual, formal stance, his muscles rippling beneath his copper and ebony stained coat. Keen eyes observed the cautiousness that radiated from Nnlya and shot her a very discrete nod telling her that she needn't worry. |

| She was relived that both of the wolves had shown their faces. Wow, what luck. She returned the dip of her head, and blinked her eyes at the other wolf. "Thank you, I was told to look for a famous Warrior Nnlya, and Drogo. Seems I have had luck and found both. I request only a mentor to help me with training in this spicific subject. You two seem kind and friendly, if you decline, that is okay. I right now just need someone to help no matter who it is." She stared at both the eyes of the two wolves, feeling this rather awkward to look just one in the eye. She tried to listen to her breathing only to clear her mind of the thoughts bobbing in the waters of her mind, but tripping up and making her breath choppy, inhaling longer and exhaling less, and then vice versa inhaling shorter and exhaling much longer. She realized that she had gone cross-eyed staring at her dark nose on the tip of her black muzzle. Great! Just blew it. Okay, good bye. Never coming here again. She thought. I wonder why I have been so bad lately at acting around other wolves. She pushed the thought away and hoped that they were not watching the stupid act. She lost topic and remembered that she was talking. One day she would be saying those words to a new comer, and possibly mentor them. But until that day she would be a good wolf and sit in the sidelines training her hardest and working her way up to recognition. Maybe that was a good thing.

| Nnlya observed her friend as he approached, glad for his company. She could see he was watching her as she did him. His introduction was kind yet formal, similar to her own. He sent her a nod of reassurance that clearly went unnoticed by the new fae, though the warrior did not relax her stance. She was still yet to know the darker wolfs knowledge of pack customs.
Nnlya chuckled slightly as the fae referred to both herself and Drogo as famous. It was as she was to reply that the warrior noticed the wolfs gaze linger on her own eyes. Her upper lip curled slightly into the remnants of a snarl, though her voice remained calm as ever - a true feat for the fae. It is unwise for ones gaze to longer for so long on the eyes. Unless you know a wolf well, the gesture might be interpreted as a challenge. She warned the fae cautiously, but kindly. But the younger wolfs gaze had already altered, staring at her nose as she breathed, turning her cross-eyed. Nnlya coukdnt help but chuckle somewhat at such a comical expression, and it easily lightened the mood.
I don't quite know about famous, but it seems you've found us regardless. I would be honoured to train you as a warrior and perhaps give you a rundown in the ways of the pack. She paused, thinking for a moment before realising she did not know the faes name. Pardon if you have answered this many times already, but what might your name be? And might I assume that you were granted entry into the pack under the rank of a warrior? Feeling at ease, she settled herself on her haunches beside Drogo, sitting as close as their friendship would allow. Although slightly closer as she rather enjoyed making the soldier a little uneasy. In short, their fur mingled slightly as she sat and he stood. Tentatively, she dared rest her head upon his high shoulder, hesitating a moment before placing her head softly amongst his fur. She knew if he found issue with this action, he would surely let her know. |

| Hearing the strange new females words his brow raised in confusion. Famous? He had yet to reside within Helidos for a full season, how could he possibly have a claim to fame as she so spoke of? But he did not have long to ponder the subject as he felt she shift in demeanour from Nnlya. Shifting his glassy gaze between the two females he could see the unbroken eye contact, which did not sit well with Nnlya. At the curling of her lip, muscles snapped from their relaxed state into preparation, rippling beneath his charred rust coat, ready to intervene should things take a turn between the two. But such intervention was not required and the tensions eased as the curious new comer's face morphed into a rather comical one. Hearing the light trilling chuckle emanate from Nnlya he let himself relax once more though still holding his formal posture.
Nodding in agreeance with his friend's words, he added his own, "I haven't the faintest idea how such title as 'fame' should bestow two such as ourselves but none the less it would seem you fated to find just the two wolves you sought." He left out asking for her name as he would have done were their meeting reserved to the two of them. He saw no need to ask her the same question twice. "I too would be more than happy to bestow my extensive knowledge in the art of battle upon you." he said gruffly. Some may have though him cocky or brooding as to his word choice, but he was a highly skilled fighter, and had several lifetimes worth of experience. His words held a pause as Nnlya let herself recline upon her haunches to sit beside him. The closeness with which she sat was an unfamiliar one to the brute. The hairs of their coats brushed against each other causing him to cut short the breath he was in the middle of taking. He quickly glanced to his side just in time to see her lean her head over to him and gently rest it upon his shoulder. The initial contact prompted a minuscule jerk of his back and shoulders as the muscles tightened.
Allowing the air to slowly leek from his nose, his muscles loosened and he turned his attention back to the female. "I do have conditions if you wish for my help." he said, a much more serious, strict tone sounding through his words. "It will be hard work. You will be required to push yourself beyond your limits. Mornings will be early and nights will be late, but I promise you that if you do as I say and put your heart and soul into it, you shall become a better warrior than you could have possibly dreamed." he said bluntly. His hardened jaw and blazing eyes watched her carefully to examine her reaction to his words. Her initial reaction would tell him much about her, giving him insight as to what route they would need to proceed with to shape her into an exceptional warrior. |

| "Famous, well that was just something that came off the top of my head." She smiled, and noticed she had made Nnlya uncomfortible by staring too long. She looked at the floor as if she were thinking to hide her gaze to rest upon just one. "I am Yiska. I'm sorry I haven't introduced myself yet." She replied. "I am well known in battle," she remembered all the fights she had with the other loners. She had no pleasure watching the flashbacks, and the desperate moments, but she had learned a lot that fighting could go a long way by just as simple as gazing for too long at one another. "Marrok just thought I could use a touch up." One fight had espically had caught her mind. It was when a loner had fought her over territory. He just came up one day, and demanded she left. He ran off wimpering like a fool when she was done with him. It was then that she realized she could do some harm to others. She sighed at the time when she had fought with that same loner, this time her luck being not so great. The amount of death and sorrow and guilt and horror was too much for the poor wolf. If she had a recorder and recorded her whole life and showed it to the most legendary pack, they would give her the duty of lead warrior anytime. The weirdest part was that the loner looked like her brother Kallik. He had died four years ago in an avalanche. She remembered the two wolves in their den with their mother, practicing howling at the moon. A silly thing to do, they were just pups. The snow fell. Horribly loud like a thunder storm right next to you. Screams of her mother and brother filled her ears. She was the fastest one to react and ran, hoping that they were on her heels. But they weren't. Those horrible moments, that scary story just to give pups a fright-those split seconds were all she had left. She shied the thought away swearing never to think about it. She could never even if her life depended on it could tell them to impress that she was the only one to escape. Never. Not now, not tomorrow.
Never. |

| Nnlya almost chuckled when Drogo stiffened at her touch. It never ceased to amuse her how unused to female company and close companionship he was. She thought long about His words. Perhaps this was a chance to improve her own skills. She was a formidable warrior, no doubt, but the brute had come from a world completely different to her own. His training methods would be different, harsher even. But ultimately to become as expert a fighter as he would truly place her in good stead for future battles or perhaps even higher ranks. Though she was quite content serving where her pack needed her most. She did not think him arrogant for describing his knowledge as "extensive" for she had heard his story and could consider that word as a possible understatement. She on the other paw had been trained from a small pup in the ways of an Alpha, to fight, hunt and lead a pack. Though her years as a Loner taught her how to survive on her own.
The new fae, Yiska she called herself, had finally introduced herself. Nnlya thought Yiska a rather odd name for a wolf, but felt she had no say in the matter as some thought the same of her own given name. This faeboasted of being well known in battle, alluding to past fights she would have won in her life. It brought to the forefront of her mind the very first day she arrived in Helidos, making a similar claim to the Beta Marrok as he inquired of her skills. Though her argument for this stood firm, If I had not won so many battles, I would not be standing here. But she was also reminded of the many battles she had fought in the years previous. Of her one rule that she struggled to uphold, fight to survive and never kill unnecessarily. true, most packs were kind and allowed her to pass through their lands unharmed. But others were far more violent. An old repressed memory beg and to resurface and she forced it down, along with the emotions it dredged up. It seemed to be appearing more and more lately. Perhaps her mind was telling her to speak with someone of the event, but she could think of only one wolf she would possibly tell the story to.
Returning to the present, Nnlya was amazed at how much Yiska reminded her of herself when she first joined the pack. But she would try to help Yisks as best she could, helping her to avoid the mistakes she had made. Sitting up properly, she finally raised her voice, deciding upon a course of action. If the Warrior Drogo agrees, I believe training should begin tomorrow, before first light, that you might be well rested from your journey and ready to begin a new season of your life. If there are any questions you have about the pack or our ways, please ask now. Or do not hesitate to ask either of us the moment you consider them. We are more than happy to help you. There was a pause as another thought drifted through her mind. Do you have a den yet? Perhaps, if you are so inclined, we might help you construct one or provide opinions on a good one to choose if you wish to select an existing den. when she was done! she closed her maw softly, her teeth clicking in her head as the interlocked. |

| [So we have a bit of a plan Yiska. I am going to post Drogo's exit in this post, then you and Nnlya may do the same if you wish or we can just call it done, then I will start up a new thread for the actual training to take place the next morning. Hunter Altair will be joining us as well.]
Drogo listened to the female who had now introduced herself as Warrior Yiska. She told them she was well known in battle, which he had no reason to dispute the truth behind such a statement, but as he examined the way she held herself, he did not see a warrior. If she truly was as capable as she claimed, then Marrok was indeed correct, she was in need of a tune up. He was confident in his skills that he would be able to shine this now dulling rock back to its former glory, and to see what she could do. The training would be hard, but if she was persistent, she would reap the glory that came from it. Having Nnyla along side him to aid him in the task of training the new Warrior would make for a surely much different atmosphere. He knew her to be a very skilled warrior herself and was eager to see what methods she used and the tricks she had learned. One never stopped improving as a fighter as long as they continued to try, and was open to new things. He knew this very well. He had seen many fighters, stuck in the ways they had been taught fall to those who were flexible, and who opened themselves up to the knowledge of others.
Nnlya's voice broke the air and she suggested that training begin the following morning. He nodded in agreeance with her words and awaited their end before adding his own. "Tomorrow morning we shall begin. Get your rest tonight Yiska. I assure it will be needed. As Warrior Nnlya has suggested, we shall begin before the great sun takes it's place in the sky. We shall meet here and then make our way to the hollow." he stated bluntly. He was a lethal weapon, born and raised to be the best that he could be. His duties had been drilled into his mind from the day his training began. It was a way of life he would never soon forget, and that had shaped him into the hardened brute he was. He took training and fighting seriously as was evident by the resolute tone and mannerisms he exuded when fronted with the subject.
Precision toned muscles rippled as the brute rose to his feet taking his usual formal stance. "I must take my leave but shall see you both early tomorrow." he said giving a courteous dip of his head to each female. He would let them discuss dens and what not, he needed to eat. "Warrior Yiska, it was a pleasure to make your acquaintance. I look forward to your training. I see a great Warrior in you. Do not prove me wrong." he said then turned his gaze to Nnlya, "Always a pleasure Warrior Nnlya." he said, with a slightly lighter tone and letting his hard set jaw melt into a modest smile. Giving a final nod, he spun on his heel and set out to find his next meal.

| Perfect! She dipped her head in response to his good-bye. "Delta Aurora courteously offered her den, I think I'm set for the night. I do have only three questions, do we have to hunt for ourselves, or do other hunters hunt food for just elders and sick wolves?" She realized the question was silly, but she honestly didn't know the answer. She was not a very formal wolf, and was usually at a lost for words. That was one of her worst flaws. She was so great full for the family she now had, and the generous wolves she had met. "And are there other packs around here? If so, have you ever had to fight them off yourself?" She realized she was asking a lot, and even if she emptied her head full of questions, the poor wolf would not be able to keep up with the so many thoughts. She yawned, showing her long white fangs accidently. The day had gone by so incredibly fast. She had only slept about half an hour which was unhealthy, and she planed to go to bed early so that she had at least some strength in the morning. Her stomach rumbled once more, and if wolves could blush, then she'd be red. |

| (Ooc - Yiska, try not to colour your posts too much. If you need to say something out of character, just make a little note at the beginning or the end of your post as I have done, otherwise I appears as part of your post and can be confusing. We usually only colour the speech of our wolves.)
Nnlya said nothing as the young fae spoke of her recently acquired den, only nodded in acknowledgement. It was kind of Aurora to do such a thing for the newcomer. But then came the questions. There were only a few and they were relatively simple to answer. We have a pack kill pile here in the clearing that everyone might share from. But it is expected that any wolf who is able to hunt should contribute something to the pile, not just the hunters. And we only take what we need, no more. We can't be at our peak if we are fat with deer meat in our bellies now can we? In harsh times we must ration the food, giving first to those who cannot hunt for themselves and thinking of oneself last.
She paused considering for a moment the faes other question. How much it would be prudent to tell the new wolf. As for your second and third question, there is another pack in the area that goes by the name of Erenyx. The complete history is somewhat hazy and I will therefore tell you very little that I might not give false information to you. Know this, they are led by an Alpha called Steele who was once the Beta of this pack. And he prizes strength and bravery above all else. No I have not had to fight them off personally, but I have been in a number of fights during my time as a loner. As for other members of the pack, I cannot say.
With that, Nnlya stood and bowed her head respectfully to the fae, saying with all the authority she could muster, I should take my leave now, as should you. We have an early start tomorrow. And if I know Drogo, a long and hard one as well. We'd best get our rest until then. I'll be waiting here for you before first light. With that, the warrior turned tail and left silently for her den.
(Ooc - we'll end it there if you don't mind. Drogo has organised the proper training thread which I will be replying to as soon as this is posted. And so it begins...) |
