We are what we think we are Empty
PostSubject: We are what we think we are We are what we think we are Icon_minitimeJanuary 7th 2014, 14:24

Lontark had just recently eaten a small rabbit that was feasting upon a bed of clover. A quick snap of its neck and he ate most of it whole, barely tasting the blood. Lontark was searching for a pack and he finally came across a border. He lowered his wet, shiny nose to the moist grass and his nostrils flared. He got right up to the territory border and flattened his ears, backing away from it a few feet and looked into the territory, his bi colored eyes narrowed, searching for a presence. He hadn't found one and instead of keeping quiet Lontark lifted his nose to the air and quickly lowered it as he heard a crackle of a bush, it was the wind. He lifted his nose once again and inhaled, as he exhaled a loud, piercing howl escaped his vocals and he stood squarely just outside the border, as his brief howl came to a stop his nose lowered and he stood there, scanning, waiting. He wanted to be accepted, become one of the pack, hunt, fight. Belong to the pack.

[Sorry it's short.]

We are what we think we are Empty
PostSubject: Re: We are what we think we are We are what we think we are Icon_minitimeJanuary 7th 2014, 20:48

Spring, what joy it brought everyone, what with the warmth and the green and the new life. Crap, that's what she felt of this horrible season. It rained far too much and riddled the earth in slick mud, rendering it difficult to hunt or groom oneself. No, Chiara much preferred fall or winter to this slop of a season. The only good thing was the abundance of helpless cute little baby animals for the warrior to bite their heads off. In their premature state they put up little fight and with the amount of them they could easily fill her up on a patrol if she found a stand of baby bunnies to decapitate. The fae sighed, walking through the woods and over judding rock. Her life had now turned very dull what with Nyx being busy, Esmerelda being, well gone and Kodiak up and vanished. She was grateful for Steele to give her permission to accept new members, for from the scents on the wind a flock was on its way. It made the fae pleased somewhat, for new members meant new wolves to bully into submission and test out in the sparring ring. So far her training had earned her a near perfect winning streak, aside from the higher ranks. No loner or warrior had beaten her, and every day she improved until one day she would stand out as the ruthless killing machine she was born to be.

Nearing the border a small male howl found her ears and her interest. Since it was on her path she decided to check it out, maybe get the hang of this accepting deal. Trotting forward Chiara made long strides, covering ground quickly until a clearing in the trees hid a grey male standing there. Bristling her pelt and curling her tail up in dominance Chiara walked forward defiantly at him, not avoiding him at all. He was well built and reeked of fresh caught prey, obviously he was capable of providing for himself, and his scars proved he had fought before, how perfect. "You, state your name and business here. I have a short tempter and patience, so don't waste my time whelp." She ordered, standing in front of him though still shorter. Her tail curled up and over her back and her lips draw back into a snarl, warning him she would attack if provoked, which wouldn't take much.

Lontark hadn't been waiting at the territory border for more than five minutes an a female came to greet him in, not the friendliest manner but he didn't expect her to be friendly. He was a stranger near her home land. Lontark watched her body language, his tail hung low to the ground, not showing any physical dominance. He looked her over swiftly before his eyes met her paws and he licked the side of his mouth that blood still stuck too. As the female spoke, his ears flicked about and he grunted, she was a feisty one. He liked them feisty. A small, unnoticeable smirk leaked along his ink colored lips and he spoke. "I'm yet another pathetic loner in your pack ridden eyes looking to join this pack I so luckily stumbled upon on my quest." He flicked his ear and Inhaled the crisp scent of the female before him and the grass and flowers, tree leaves and the heavily marked border. "Wouldn't dream of it." He spoke to her wasting time comment and he finally spoke his name in a crisp tone. "Lontark." He flicked his ear once and they returned to their erect position and he waited and listened. He was hoping he could get into this pack, belong to it and make friends and enemies. Each he took a liking too equally.

His relaxed manner irritated Chiara so she lunged forward, aiming to bite at his nose but coming within a hair's length. It was meant as a threat to knock off the cockiness and give her some real respect. "Show me more respect you pathetic excuse for a wolf or I'll give you something to complain about." She growled, rising over his maw and expecting him to lower himself before her. True he did submit already, but Chiara liked to make other mentally submit to her, push themselves to that point of embarrassment and disdain for a complete stranger; yes, that's what she liked. "Admittance? That's a joke, you and everyone else around here wants to enter my pack, what's so special about you? Can you knit me a den cover from moss? Or perhaps you can sweet talk baby birds to shit on others heads?" She barked, relishing in the mental images.

"This land belong to Alpha's Steele and Esmerelda, I am the Lead Warrior Chiara, and as such I decide who make the cut into the pack, so enlighten me Lontark" she said, hissing out his name as if it tasted vile in her mouth.

The large male lowered his nose as she lunged forward, his instincts told him to lunge back but he remembered this no rogue but a pack wolf near this wolfs territory and home. He kept his ears erect as her lowered his front first and let his rump fall roughly to the ground with a small thud. He flicked his ear. "Do you get enjoyment out of bullying poor little wolves like me?" He asked calmly before his head lowered to his paws and he sighed softly. No others were around to see what'd he be doing but it was a submissive stance he hated but would deal with to get in. Though this wolf hadn't earned his full respect she had enough, her think a bit before testing her patience, which seemed to last for a minute.  He'd give this she wolf a bit of respect but he didn't respect was exactly given out to the wolf who showed the most dominant of gestures or bared there teeth around once In a while. He believed it was earned. "I'm not any better than any of the wolves, each pack is only as strong as its weakest member, no? I see myself as equal to those requesting to join this pack, I mean if I didn't find myself suitable for the pack life I wouldn't have drug my lazy ass to the border." He shrugged while he remained staring at her paws. "I can hunt, fight..everything everyone else says they can do but actions speak louder than words, do they not?" He stopped talking and remained still, he began growing irritated but kept that hidden.

Pleased somewhat by his display Chiara backed off a little, clear that her point had been made. Prepared for a intricate monolog of what he could do and most likely not perform under pressure she was pleasantly surprised when he gave her an honest answer. Raising her eyebrows at his statement she mulled the wolves over and erased the look to glare down at him. "In this pack we have no weak link, for they are cast out. We are all strong and live up to the strength of our highest members." She said, her voice not as harsh now as his words drove into her somehow. Stepping back off him was the signal for him to bring himself some comfort if he dared, she wouldn't hold him in the horrible stance, she wasn't that annoyed.

"You are correct, actions do speak louder than words. You say you can hunt and fight? I can already tell that by your full belly and scars. I only care about how well you follow orders, for once in the pack I'll truly decide how well you can fight. I say fight for you seem more like a warrior than a lowly hunter, am I wrong?" She questioned, but not giving him the chance to answer. "I'm not the type to slaughter loners on the border for no reason, so if you prove valuable to bring into the pack I shall expect to see you in the sparring ring. Only there will I see just much much of a fighter you are. For now however, give me one good thing you can do that would make me want to invite you into our awaiting arms." She said sarcastically, curious if he had any real talent. "Can you be loyal? For that is the first law of Erenyx, to respect its Alpha's and serve them with your life if needed."

Lontark let the female speak before she backed off, he knew this was a subtle display of wit and if he so dared looked to her eyes or lift his head she'd be upon him, so he kept low and submissive. He waited for her to speak again and shrugged his shoulders. "If you think I'm going to so dare let myself become that weak link, you're strongly mistaken. I wouldn't let myself grow weak and be known as the weak one, only mutts and omegas deserve to be called weak. But I respect your decisions and shall tuck my tail and run out of her before you so elegantly chop me to bits with your feisty self if I so say something wrong." He spoke quietly, his bi colored eyes growing glazed over and irritated he blinked and shook his head slightly. "I follow orders of those superior to me. I'm cocky not dumb. I show respect and get it, that's how it works I suppose. I'm loyal, my last breath shall be so breathed from my limp body defending this pack and this pack alone, if not what is my breath to be used for? I can run particularly fast, but that's common, no super power. I can leap and bound over objects twice my height if enough speed is progressed, yet not common. So perhaps I can't tell you of my talent and rather, show you?" He flicked his ear and licked his drying nose the moist air around him caused the inside to become slightly runny but the outside to become crisp. He flexed his shoulders and waited.

Growing more and more intrigued by the male Chiara started to circle him like a shark, swishing her tail in indifference. His ears fell upon her like rain drops, saying of his talent or lack there of. He claimed he was ordinary, nothing special, so why she she let him in? Deciding to change tactics to see what he was made of Chiara decided to turn up the heat. Circling closer she draw her tail under his chin and flicked it on his nose, "Now I wouldn't dream of chopping you into bits with my "fiestyness" as you put it. I also hardly see you as weak or even becoming weak. There are several in my pack I disapprove of and I'd love to see you in action with them, blood spill really gets me going." She purred, curious how he'd react to this deadly side of her. His words of getting respect came true to her, for she had the feeling he spoke the truth. then he asked to show her his talent, how quaint.

Backing away from him so her back was turned to the loner she snickered under her breath. "I'd actually like to see that. I'd be willing to push past my previous statement of not fighting loners if you obey sparring rules here and now. The best way to show me your strengths is to fight me here and now, unless you had a better idea. I trust you know in sparring no serious injury is given and the winner is determined when the latter is pinned. I must warn you though I've never lost a spar with any but my Alpha's, and thats a fact not a gloat." She said peeking over her shoulder to wait for his answer. Would he fight and win his way into her pack or turn and run?

Lontark hadn't implied to fight here at the border where his blood could be spilled, where the hunters blood could me spilled. He had only wanted to be let in and in time his true talents would be shown and noticed. As the female before him moved and walked about his eyes trailed along her body, smirking. As she touched him with her tail he didn't flinch nor move and now he placed her front paws flat on the ground and pushed his front up and let his hind paws shoot out and catch his body, as he stood his tail remained loose and his head low. His eyes didn't meet hers, Lontark didn't see the point in fighting this female. No one was around to watch. He quirked an eyebrow and licked the corner of his ink colored lips. "I wasn't exactly implying we fight here and now. More along the lines of if you did grant me the honor to step into your packs territory under your Alpha's ranks my true talents would show." He spoke with a blank tone, all one tone and seldom. "Of course I love to fight, but is fighting really, truly necessary as I don't know your strengths more do you know mine." His voice held the same blankness as before. He had been traveling for a bit and his muscles ached and his mind set was on one thing and one thing only, getting into this pack. "I mean, if what you're aiming for here is to show me you aren't a force to be messed, I believe your unspoken words." He said with even less enthusiasm then before.

Smiling at him for not moving she continued to circle him, examining his body and muscle structure. He seemed perfect for a warrior here, strong loyal and obedient. As he spoke however her smile vanished, replaced by a playful pout. "Aww poo you spoil my fun. Oh well, perhaps once you're in the pack I can give you a test run, f you think you're up to it." She said, flicking her tail tip on his nose before moving away. "I just need to you state your pledge to the pack. Pledge your body and soul to the pack and its leaders before I gain you entrance." She cooed, her voice hollow and captivating. She really didn't think about fighting him out here, he could easily turn the spar sour and with no one to know she's out here she had her doubts she could fend him off. He was quite larger than her, and even though she had talent she wasn't stupid to put herself in a position like that. Waiting for his answer she sat down before him, wrapping her black tail around her feet. The wind picked up and blew at her fur, glancing up she also saw the sun getting higher. She should be on her way, but she waited for the male to finish here.

Lontark let his bi colored eyes watch the circling paws around him, a small smirk tugged along his ink colored lips. He sat as she sat and flicked his ear and let the eyes that were watching her paws scan over at the trees and such. "I will fight for this pack and this pack, anything and everyone of the packs I will fight for and protect with my life. My last breath shall be spent protecting one of Erenyx, because if it isn't, what's my breath even worth?" He let his eyes meet her with a slight tilt of his head. "I pledge my  all my abilities, I pledge my soul to this pack..." He let his voice trail off and looked away from her eyes to the trees once more. "I Lontark, pledge my life to this pack and this pack only." His words spoken and done, the wind the not sound hear in his rounded ears. His words laced with truth and honesty, pride even. Lontark stood now and shook his head half at as the wind nipped at his ears, all he needed was her to say he was welcomed and now a member of this pack and he'd be on his way. Though he wouldn't underestimate any member or take this pack for grated, it's name had gotten around for even a rogue to hear about, so it must have something it ruining the pitiful rogues. He was determined to find out what.

Smiling at him now Chiara sat before him, thoroughly satisfied with his pledge. He spoke from the heart and soul, all she could ever ask of him. He would be a good member of the pack and contribute much. "I accept your pledge and welcome you as a warrior of Erenyx. From this day forward you govern under the lead of Steele and Esmerelda as well as the high ranks. You shall serve us as Warrior Lontark." She said, her voice strong and happy. Her stomach then growled and she remembered needing to hunt before the days end. Turning her attention back to the warrior she dipped her head. "I must be off, but if you follow my scent trail you'll find the main clearing. I look forward to seeing you at work here and perhaps holding up that deal of a spar in the future. Good bye for now." She spoke, and just like that she raced off, leaving the bewildered male alone. Chiara would hunt, but for the next few weeks would keep an eye on the male. He interested her and she would enjoy their spar when it happened.

ooc-You need not reply to this. You may change your name to Warrior Lontark and change your name color. To do this click on "ranks" at the top of the screen then choose Erenyx from the options. n admin will accept you into the group and your name will turn red.
