| The sun was high in the sky, burning brightly upon the water, forcing rays of golden light to reflect and illuminate the land even more than it was already doing. Blinding the pup as he walked alone through the woods coming forth from the trees to the shimmering pools of blue. It was the first time he had ever seen water and was unaware of the dangers it possessed. However, the pup knew that what he was doing was wrong. It was never like him to wander off alone, but it beat sitting at home complaining to den walls about his boredom, for the walls didn't talk back. Assuming he would find someone or something to play with, he snuck from his father's den leaving the Elite and his daughter asleep on the cool hard ground. Tiny paws and stubby legs carried himself long and far, absent mindedly traveling to the sound of rushing water for it intrigued the male pup. The sense of adventure he had was masked by how the pup was a coward and more sensual than other's and this travel was for him to find out just how strong he was. Wanting nothing more than his father's approval and respect.
Cream paws stepped close to the water's edge, the soft dirt on the banks of the lake crumbled under his weight causing the young apprentice to yelp and scramble backwards. Sitting back upon his haunches he bark at the ground, his soft and childish sound was easy on the ears but still annoying at the same time. For Leo, sounded more like a girl than his own sister. More so, a walking-talking contradiction. Fear slowly rose in the male's body as he seconded guessed his actions and thought about returning to the den, but then panic settled in, he didn't know his way back. Standing up the cream colored pup turned his head to the woords, where his beautiful emerald eyes caught glimpse of something moving slowly towards the forest edge. There in the distance, Leo saw another wolf, almost instantaniously he started to growl as vicious as he could, his legs naturally backing up one step at a time, until the pup lost his balance and fell into the water. Leo went under and bobbed back up, spewing water everywhere and choking on the liquid. "Daddy help!" A vocalized scream was sent out through the land, the pup was louder than he expected, sending a shockwave to anyone near by. As he dipped under and above the water, he struggled to stay afloat in the deep water and the more he kicked the further he swam out. It was at this point, he knew, he should have never left the den. Would he ever see his father again? Tears welled up in his eyes as he continued to choke on the crystal clear water. |

| Tree's stretched towards the sky, the way the dark green blending with the light blue sky made Aurora smile. Finally, this palce felt like home, the pack members and the lands were familiar to her and life was bloomig everywhere around her. Eyes cast forward, she set off into a pace heading for the rapids where she would be able to do some self reflecting. All she wanted to do, was cool off from the heat of the summer sun upon her thick coat of fur, and try to escape her mind. Aurora followed the sound of rushing water, her mind stuck on duties as the delta of the pack, her prior meeting with Kenai, and the possibility that maybe one day she would be honored to stand beside him as Azul's second Elite. A smile crossed her face and the fluffy white female padded forth. It was then she heard the ear piercing scream and her heart lept to her throat. "What on earth was a pup doing at the water alone?" Aurora said loudly as she began to race through the trees to where the sound of the drowning pup last was heard. In the near distance through an opening in the tree's, Aurora saw he vantage point, the cream colored mop of fur was splashing around in the water, choking as it tried to fight it's way back to the edge of the water with futile attemptes only forcing himself further back.
Without hesitation, Aurora ran from the woods and lept from the banks of the lake into the water. Long white legs kicked off from the soft dirt, her body stretching outwards as her front paws reached as far as she could to get a good amount of distance to where the pup was. Fear rising in her mind on whether she would reach him in time, Aurora however, was an excellent swimmer and used to icy waters instead of the warm waters she had dove into. A wave of water surrounded her body as she connected with the lake's surface, the water gliding along side her body as she skimmed the surface, her body now wading deeper. Powerful legs forced their way through the water as she swam closer and faster to the pup. Instictively, she grabbed the pup hard by the nape of his neck and dragged him to the banks of sand and clay, his tiny body lying there soaking wet and tired from the extent of fighting the effects of drowning. Aurora collapsed next to him, her body sprawled out before him, half in the water and half upon the land with the pup still in her mouth. Slowly letting him go, she gasped fro air as she nuzzled him to get him to spew water from his mouth.
Aurora looked at the young pup and smiled, at least he was alive. Rejoicing thoughts ran through her mind but Aurora was unable to speak, she looked tenderly at the pup and smiled as she rested her head beside his, giving him time to focus and collect himself. Taking a deep breath, Aurora calmed her body and continued to gaze at the young apprentice. It was then that she found herself deeply attached to him, every motherly instinct took over and she began to nurture the child. Slowly she stood up, her large white body was now skinny and small for the fluffy white fur was slick to her sides. Picking the tired youngster up, she brought him to the wading pool where pups were allowed. Where the water was not deep or a hazard and where she would be able to keep her eyes on him. Lying the pup on the flat rocks, she curled up beside him, their wet bodys cuddling together. It was then, Aurora began to groom the scared and crying little male. "There, there child. I am not going to hurt you. Nothing is going to harm you, you are safe. Be still." Aurora's soft motherly voice hushed the child as she lapped her dark tongue over his body trying to clean him and shelter him from danger. "Everything is all right, I am here now." She spoke once more, pulling the child closer to her body and resting her head over his hiding him from the world. Aurora closed her eye, whoever he belonged to she felt the sting in her heart, they almost lost him. Such a tender child was almost lost to the water, Aurora chocked back tears, she nearly wept for the young apprentice.
A slight breeze blew over the two of them causing Aurora to shiver and the cream ball of spiked fur to poke his head up, he didn't say anything but his beautiful eyes captivated her and as they peered into each other's eyes, Aurora had nothing but love for the child and wanted nothing more than to mother him. However, she knew nothing of him, who he was, or whom he belonged too. Right now, her concern was making sure he was okay before returning him to the pack clearing, she didn't want to take away her time with him. After all, she saved his life and he had now just saved hers. Aurora whined a comforting sound to the pup as he whined out of fear and confusion beside her. He didn't move and neither did she, not until he was ready or someone came looking for them. |

| ((Time Skip- Per Kenai- Kenai's pups have been killed. The following takes place after.))
It was all too real, Aurora's heart was racing, as she frantically stood by the water's edge. The beautiful white fur now stuck to her body as she sighed heavily, her face turning to Kenai. Each of them somber, still trying to process what had just happened. As she looked down, the lifeless body was a wet ball of fur, and Aurora couldn't help but cry out. Tilting her head back she let out a vicious and angry cry, then faded to a cry for help, and into pure sadness. They were gone.
Trying to replay the events in her mind, she watched it all go down again, he stomach churning as she held back the vomit. The two pups were playing and splashing in the shallow water, when the young female wandered out too far, and all she could remember was Leo jumping in to save her. As they struggled to stay afloat, it was then she recalled the alligator. In a panic she remember jumping in after Leo, her body wading in the water trying to steer clear of the alligators jaws. Eyes widened in horror as she saw the alligator swallow the young female whole. As it went back for seconds, Aurora, watched as Leo's leg was snapped in half and dragged under water, but released. It was too late. Aurora and Kenai both had failed to save either pup. Now Leo, lie lifeless ont he floor.
Lowering her head, she walked over to Kenai and her look said it all. There were no words at this time for her. Dipping her head beneath his, she rubbed her head under his chin. "There was nothing we could do, Kenai. I'm sorry, I tried." The sound of her voice strained from the water and the struggle. Aurora stayed there, her head heavy, her body cold as she stayed close to Kenai. Staying by his side, waiting for him to say something, for him to tell her it wasn't her fault. Aurora's head dropped as she sat by his side, her eyes not leaving the water. It was over, but it was only just beginning. |

| After their interaction among the other wolves, it was apparent that she liked him and he had been curious of her as well. He had two pups, which we not his own blood, but he cared for them all the same. Those two pups were everything, and when she was around, they seemed happy. It was like the perfect family coming together. Kenai could rely on her to watch them and so when she accepted taking them out on her own, he was very thankful and proud of her. She was everything he could wish for in a mate. That morning, Kenai had been aiding the Alpha in some pack matters, allowing the fae and pups to play, but as soon as he was released from his duties of the day, he rushed towards them. He saw Aurora first, she was smiling towards him and her tail gently wagged with glee. The two young wolves were playing by the water's edge. The scene was so peaceful and tranquil. But it soon all changed. Out of the dark waters, the alligator came up for a quick bite to eat, taking the small female within its jaws. Kenai was in shock, unable to move, while both Leo and Aurora rushed to her aid. Finally the father was allowed to move and rushed as well. By the time he had gotten there, it was all too late. They had lost both pups and there was nothing he could do to bring them back. As she moved herself closer to him, he heard her call. Pressing his body to hers, he shared the lone howl, adding bass and a deep tone to it. Their shared song rang over the lands, alerting the pack that they had lost two lives that day. As they finished, Kenai lowered his head to rest over Aurora's back. He smelled her sweet scent, feeling her warm fur rush over his face. He closed his eyes and dreamed of being happy once more, just the two of them. No pups to worry about. But as he thought of it more, he knew Aurora had wanted a few pups of her own, ones she could love until she took her last breath. Kenai was not one to refuse the wishes of a beautiful fae, and if she would have him, then whatever she wished would be granted. Kenai nuzzled against her lovingly, trying to find a smile as he spoke. "I know you tried, Aurora. I wish I could have seen it coming." His voice was low and soon he moved his chin from her back. He stepped to her side to stare into her bright and beautiful eyes. "Aurora, we should probably leave this place and move on with our lives. I know it will not be easy, but I really think we should talk somewhere safer than here." He gave her a weak smile and licked the side of her cheek softly, just once. He wanted her to know that he did not blame her, and he cared for her. In his future, he wanted to see her, only her. "Come, let's go..." he motioned for her to follow at his side. |
