| Having witnessed more aggression from Steele, the Elite needed some time in his favorite place. He walked from the falls until he made his way to Eden's Hollow. The trees were lined with moss, branches talk and stiff. Large redwoods grew in a large circle, causing a clearing to form. The sunlight broke through the treetops, causing liguht to touch the floor. Few wolves knew of this exact location, it was his secret place. Kenai hadn't told anyone of its location, but that didn't stop others from following his scent. The wolf made his way to his spot. Once he was in the circle of large trees, he laid in the sun, soaking up the rays. His eyelids closed, protecting his silver eyes from the bright morning light. He laid on his adequate, allowing his body to contain as much warmth as he could. His tail laid out, bouncing up and down off the floor. His chest rose and fell with each deep breath. Finally he was calm and at peace. He would not allow the Beta to get under his skin. Not this time and not ever, even if Steele did anything in his power to piss him off. |

| This was not the first time Kenai had ran from the Beta. That was not their first confrontation either. The brutes had a full blown out history of disdain for one another. Kenai had joined the pack before Steele and it seemed as though Azul favored his Elite far more than the Beta. This upset Steele along with many other issues. The Elite was too weak in his eyes, unable to face a fight like the rank he held. Steele could only assume he was a wimp, taught by Azul himself. Words were used to light the desire to fight in another's eyes or to continue the fight with higher intensity. Words could not stop fangs and claws. Not even their own prey, deer, used words. They fought with hooves, antlers, and teeth. They kicked out their legs in aggressive ways, threatening to kill their adversaries. Steele pushed his snout to the ground, following the scent of his enemy. He continued until he found the clearing.
The keen hunter's eyes scanned, searching for Kenai. His pads were quiet on the ground, bringing silence with him. His tail quickly rose as he saw the target lying on the floor. Steele approached from the flank, watching Kenai completely unaware of the danger he faced. |

| A rancid smell crossed his nose and he knew exactly who belonged to that scent. "Steele" he said as he slowly turned to face the other. His body was relaxed, even though he despised the other greatly. His lush eyes looked to the blackened male, staring down at him. Did he really wish to continue their spat now that they were alone? But Kenai knew if he fought with Steele, there would be hell to pay from his Alpha. Azul disliked the need for violence when words were much better and a wiser choice. The pack should not be fighting within itself, that is weaker than talking it out. "What is it you wish? Why have you followed me here?" He slowly stood, proving to the Beta he would not lay down and stay down. If he was going to speak with the other, it would be on equal terms. Dominance was dead here and he would not accept it any other way. This was his place for peace and joy, yet with his very presence, Steele had killed that aura. "If you wish for a fight, there will be none here." |

| "Yes, it is I." Blackened paws moved closer to the brute, snickering to himself. This was going to be fun. Here they were, alone and separated from the rest of the pack. No other wolves knew of this exact location within the hollow. His smile changed from a smirk to more of a toothy grin. His eyes laid upon the other, never leaving the Elite's form. Again, he chuckled to himself, louder for the other to hear. "Your assumptions are correct, I fear. Maybe you have begun to know me all too well?" Snickers escaped from his onyx lips. "You think you have earned the position you hold? Truly earned it?" he asked as he started to laugh. His voice rang throughout the maze of trees, scaring the wild birds to flee from their nests, seeking safety and shelter from the malevolent predator. His tail arched over his back, asserting himself and glaring towards the other. Their eyes met with a clash of anger between the two. Sure Kenai had been calm as he spoke, but he knew when the other brute was becoming increasingly angry. He knew the signs like the back of his paw.
If he continued to push the male, he would have no other choice but to fight him. More steps brought the black male to the blended fur one. He looked over his body, assessing his opponent as he had always done by nature. "The only reason I could see you backing down now, would be for fear. Possibly for fear of Azul discovering the truth about his Elite." |

| Spiteful words attacked the brute's ears, trying to rip and tear at every strand which held the Elite together. But it would not work, not this time. Kenai may not have been as strong as Steele physically, but when it came to intelligence and controlling his emotions, he was much better. "What is the truth about me, Steele?" his voice was calm, like an untouched pond. "Do you truly think Azul is such a wolf that would just give a position for no reason? How low do you think our Alpha is?" Quickly he jumped to his feet, no longer allowing the other to have any stance over him. Silver eyes collided with one another, unable to break their stare. Kenai's body now changed, holding his head defensively and the rest of his body was prepared. He knew what the male was capable of and he knew that if there were a fight, he was completely on his own. He did not fear fighting the other. His only fear was what Azul would say had he discovered what was going to happen here. "Speak first, calm the situation, then work it out. Fighting is not the answer.." Azul had taught him that when they first became allies. Until now, Kenai had lived by that statement. He didn't know how far Steele would take this here and now, but he would do anything to protect himself, even if it meant killing the other. |

| An evil chuckle escaped from his deadly grin. He could see the effects his words had on the Elite. With the change of Kenai's stance and the way he spoke, Steele knew exactly what was going to happen. Saliva built up along the edges of his lips, his snarls had begun, and then little snaps and other aggressive antics occurred. Steele stared at the other, growls paused his words as he spoke. "Alpha Azul is nothing but a lousy, weak, and stupid leader! He does not deserve the position he holds! he should be killed for the ways he wishes to keep this pack. This is unlike any wolf pack I have ever lived and fought for! This 'speaking first and fighting later' is dumb! Not even the prey we feast on abides by such lunacy! What this pack needs is a little chaos, a bone thrown into the ways it operates, to change things up and give these wolves the freedom they desire. And they do desire it!" Soon the male was closer to the other, staring him down still. Steele was now ready for what he had always wanted, what he dreamed of day and night. The chance to finally put Kenai down and out was here. Nothing could stop him. Nobody would discover what had happened here, as long as he finished the Elite.
With a loud snap of his jaws, he lunged at the male, trying to force him to the floor. If the mixed brute could avoid his attack, he would run to the trees, using them as a push towards Kenai again. |

| The Elite had not expected such a forward attack. Large canines dug into his fur, burying themselves into his skin. A loud roar rippled through his throat and out of his mouth. Whipping his head to the side, he bit into the Beta's neck. He sunk his teeth in, until the Beta released him. Once they no longer had a hold on one another, he dashed around the larger male. Kenai used his agility to best the other. "You should not say such things about your own Alpha! Maybe you should just leave and take whatever traitors who feel the same with you!" he snapped at the other. Kenai's tail curled over his back, watching the male as his words seemed to strike something within the black-hearted wolf's soul. "You have no friends and no allies, do you? That would be because not a single wolf in this pack hates Azul as you do. They adore their Alpha and respect the way he upholds the laws of the pack. You are the only fool to doubt his judgement!" As he finished his words, he dashed towards the other, grabbing his tail tightly in his grip. |

| Feeling the bite in his neck, he finally released the other and made a rather large gap between the two. Collecting his breath, his chest rose and fell rapidly. Adrenaline coursed through his blood, causing his heart to beat faster than it ever had in any fight he had ever had the glory of winning. Perhaps Kenai was stronger than he assumed, but he would never allow Kenai to know such a thing. Before the male had time to strike again, the brute spoke. His onyx lips curled back in distaste, bearing the blood-stained fangs that he contained within his powerful jaws. "You know nothing of what you speak of! I can offer so much more than the Alpha of this so called 'pack'! Azul takes the honor of an Alpha out in the ways he controls this pack! he should be put to death..." grunts and words from the other paused his words. Malicious speech ripped and tore at the onyx brute. "As shall you!" he snarled as he felt the grip on his tail. Silver eyes targeted the mixed coat which held onto him. Pulling his tail from the death grip, he latched his teeth into the skin once more. This time the bite was in his neck. Steele shook his head like a rabid dog tearing meat from a carcass. Warm liquids soon flooded his mouth, tasting the life fluid of the Elite. |
