Thought we could get this thing started. :3

Day by day would the blinded grow to something much greater than its day of blossom. It had seemed the sun had not shined thus so bright all season, spreading a sense of hope over the wandering lands to what had not yet been explored by the young one's orbs. Colors of all kinds surrounded the silence, their touch was so fragile against another - nature's sweet sounds whistling their secrets into the winds that passed. They wrapped him in a blanket of a light, welcoming hand around him and through his darkened pelt one had almost never seen wander about these regions. His coat was a deep ebony to resemble the obsidian stone alone, shifted to match the same dark velvet one's blood would possess the color of when bleeding from their deepened wounds. Symmetry within his fur was blindingly charming, framing his features and gifted looks to where his own hues lie. The color of his mother praised so highly within him, he barely noticed, for he could only could see the father in him now. The magnificence of coming so far, for such a short amount of time it seemed, made so much sense to him. How one could grow from a tiny seed and turn into one of the most eye-catching specimen's none to life, nature and the sky. It was truly beautiful, he thought.

He lifted his snout to look up into the stretched atmosphere above, exchanging soft gazes in strange directions as the colors could not be any more awing. Wolves did what they did most around this time by themselves - while the young yearling stay aloft the attention and study them from a comfortable far. He said little unless appropriately asked, he had learned this through his mother's small commands, watching at how Ryland's progress had improved beneath the caretaking. Thus his own heart still battled with the love of becoming a fighter like the great ones before him and more. However, the difficulty of it being was that he no longer held a mentor, and had been doing his best to work amongst his father's higher duties to catch up. Kenai was a wonderful being and teacher, and a part of his heart felt shattered to see all of that now gone. He wanted to be just like him, just like his father had when he was a mere Delta, he was told once before. That was gone now, and now the adolescent was in need of another worthy fighter to take his place. But another portion of his internal being sought to find that missing piece he heard others once speak of, and even possess, to what he was left to discover when he was older, he was told repetitively. What fools they were to realize that he knew what it was already, though he hadn't known all the same. He didn't know what it felt, what it looked like, what it tasted like, even, to know what the word 'love', was, but was faint of its description. When he pictured it, he saw his parents, and the leading duo known to be his true Alphas. He found it intriguing to know more of, but his mother had told him that it would only come at the most noticing times, and will be difficult for him to clear. She spoke of him to enjoy life to what brought to him, for patience was the key to what she said, he noticed, carefully taking it into stride to mind his duties and abilities to himself to what could soon be his potential future.

The scream of banshees above broke his reverie from the sunset that cast over his head, sending the male to glare in random ways to the source of the noise before he could hear their hysterics within the trees nearest to him. His obsidian dipped muscle twitched with annoyance as he rose to his four paws, grunting as he turned his body and moved back to the edge of the reflecting pond. As he neared it, the handsome adolescent stared into his mirrored image, sighing as a depressed, lonely ache in his stomach grew with not spending as much time with his family anymore these days. Everyone was busy, whereas he was not and only wished for the accompany of another his kind. Was that too much to ask? Was it a bother, he knew not, and deepened the next exhale to drop his entire strong torso to the ground and his paws to splash at the water's shallower surface. The brute lay his chin over his forearms, curling his tail against his side while his ears narrowed against his head beneath the only silence of the neutrals. The horizon's rainbow of passionate shades mixed against his emerald eyes the more he kept them open, humming a soft tune to himself as nature's sounds faded and the only noise he could register was the beating of his golden heart.

Changes in seasons were always advantageous. Summer brought bounty, autumn and winter purified the earth, and spring revived the land in flora and fauna. And yet to growing wolves, each turn of the season also meant becoming stronger and gaining more wisdom and experience in every coming day. Athena continued with her apprenticeship passionately, determined to prove her worth to her mentor and most influential figure, Lead Healer Creek. As a healer in the making, the young fae spent most of her time in the healers’ den instead of frolicking with her brother or the friends she didn’t have. The time she spent with her parents seemed short-lived, but there was no room for argument. The alpha pair had priorities, she convinced herself, like keeping the pack in order. A sharp bite impaled Athena’s heart every time she reminded herself of her solitude. The fae began to wonder if her frail social skills would impair her abilities as a healer, but stubbornly decided otherwise. Though of a genial nature, she did not receive the emotionally developmental situations as most yearlings of her age did. Instead, she invested her time on her training, practicing everything from meticulous sorting of herbal stocks to the practical application of her knowledge.

But today would be different. She decided to put aside all of her loneliness at least for one afternoon. All duties were completed, regardless of whether or not they were assigned to the apprentice, giving her the rare advantage of leisurely time. Athena trotted happily among the forest belonging to father, paws moving gracefully with a jovial bounce to each step. The summer’s emerald hues overhead were illuminated by the golden rays, casting a pleasant, earthly aura around the fae below. Her head held high and tail swaying to the rhythm of her own pace, she moved in the direction of the Mirror Lake, soon crossing the edge of Helidos territory and heading into the neutral grounds. The lake, she assumed, would reflect the beauty and fullness of the golden sun’s rays.

Athena’s skill as a healer was undoubtedly impressive, but her knowledge in navigation disappointed her. Several hours went by before she caught the humid scent of her destination, quickening her pace to reach the water before dusk. The fae flew at a canter, tawny orbs darting around the surrounding foliage to choose her best path. Even so, a tendril of a root was obligated to catch her paw, confirming the clumsiness that so flawed her grace. She landed on her belly with a dull thud, snarling at her own stupidity such that the winged occupants of the woods took flight with frenzied cries. Athena silenced herself immediately, rose to her paws once more, and continued her journey after shaking her rusted, creamy fur free of any dirt.

A satisfied smile crept onto her muzzle as she finally reached the lake, paws silently stepping onto the bank. Her innately curious gaze scanned the water which so beautifully reflected the painted sunset sky. Only then did she notice the ebony brute on the opposite side of the pool, sending a wave of shock through her mind as she did not expect the area to be occupied. After a moment of studying the mysterious, dark figure, she identified the young wolf as Apprentice Apollo. She had seen him from afar many times, like most wolves in the pack, but rarely engaged in interaction. Taking a deep breath, she slowly walked by the water’s edge, approaching the male with as much of her mother’s grace she could exhibit. The varying tones of her silky pelt swayed like the surface of the lake, her movements casual yet deserving of her place as the alphas’ only daughter. Upon reaching the relaxed male, she cleared her throat to subtly announce her presence and continued in a smooth, friendly tone, “Hello… Apollo, right? Forgive me, it’s been a while since I’ve talked to anyone other than my mentor.” A polite smile adorned her face as she looked at the impressive young brute, her gaze soft and amicable.

Thoughts passed him so easily within the seconds added to his life. He watched them play before him, his smile shining brightly in each one with his sister and arrogant brother at his sides. His parents looked down at them all with smiles, nuzzling against each other like nothing could tear them apart. It felt like forever since he had seen that. How pathetic, he thought bitterly of himself, depending on the past to be a consistency and still remain there for him through thick and thin. He needed to grow up sooner or later, especially if he were to be an adult within the next year. Yes. His dreams would come true of becoming a warrior, to put away the depressing details and training to work in finally doing something for a change that didn't have to do with listening to wiser Warriors teach him the pros and cons of being a fighter. He felt more than ready, yet no one seemed to see it around him. Then something had hit him as hard as a tidal wave would to sharp rocks - someone was here, watching him. The young brute blinked, long and hard to clear his thoughts, quickly darting his eyes to dance over the lake and sense a higher presence becoming of his surroundings. He sniffed the air once before reaching to his paws, watching as a graceful figure emerge from the darkness and lap at the waters to what he stood oppositely of. She was indifferent; simply that of a fae he knew proudly of, but not to a personal degree.

Then she neared him - her steps just as angelic as her entire aura that flowed from her toned small shoulders. She too was a yearling, only a few days in age older than him, but it was hardly recognizable other than how much power they held between them. It was foreign to see such an individual alone, if not accompanied by another in the state that they were in fact in the neutral grounds. When she announced in question towards who he was, he frowned inwardly in the fact that he seemed to of now been able to make it clear to all the pack whom he was and his title. That would have to change, he thought, "Your majesty, Athena. Why does one such as yourself travel out here without someone of aid?" His words was edged with a timid, dark tone, the signs of adolescence and the becoming of a great brute surely showing in the way his body developed compared to the female as well as the deepening sound of his voice. A brow curiously raised, he made the best of his efforts to do as he was taught, pivoting his front paws before him and slowly, elegantly extending his body in the praise of her presence. His mother and father had displayed many of these actions to her parents, and he would do the same, for she was just as highly important as them. Her blood is enriched with that of an Alpha's and once was wise Healer's, and from what he had been told, so had his somewhere in time.

He roughly cleared his throat and left his tail lifelessly to sway against his hind legs, "There shall be no apologies, miss. You are pleased to call me whatever you seek to rightfully fit me as a wolf. But please, do I dare ask in having the favor of your company this late evening?" Apollo raised his head and body back to his regulated level, standing just slightly taller than the light sable creamy she-wolf in front of him, "I am terribly lonely out here, and if you are to be alone as well, I could only wish I protect you while we're out and about before the dark sets in. It is better to be my life than yours to be sacrificed, ma'am." The ends of his crimson fur across his back stood on end in discomfort, as he believed he could do greater in trying to impress her than this. She was the spitting image of her mother, more or less, as well as a mix between the lighter tones of her father. He could most easily see the resemblance and the gifts she had received from both sides of the family genes. However, he knew not of her experiences, what she was learning as an Apprentice, as he did not see any signs of fighting carved amongst her other than her natural beauty. Perhaps he was mistaking her for another if his judgement was incorrect.
