The camp clearing... She guessed she had found it. Scents of multiple wolves were scattered about mixed in with the signature scent of her new home. She let out a sigh, there was much to be done. Get familiar with the territory, make a few friends, and find out exactly where she should go to attend her duties. But for now meeting new wolves was the task at hand. She had enjoyed her meeting with Azul, the conversation quite pleasant actually. But he could not be the only one to share a friendship, others would be greatly needed. She looked around her eyes scanning the forested terrain that surrounded her, the scents of the wood filling her nares as well as the scent of her own kind. Planting a small smile upon her lips she thought to herself, This is it.. Home. A new one... a fresh start.. And indeed it was. There was no better feeling to be in a place you knew you would enjoy. And most likely the place you shall breathe your last breath. Nothing better at all. Minding to herself, she began to walk around the area. Her gaze looking at the scenery and any traces of how the pack lived. Any information would be good to know, after all. She hoped to find someone to speak with here. Allowing her face to become known. Even if, she hadn't met them personally yet. A feeling in her gut told her she'd find some good friends here, a potential mate maybe, and perhaps a few enemies. And the thought excited her to the edge. The unknown possibilities. The unfamiliar landscape. And most importantly, the unknown of what would become of her own self. The canvases needed to be painted and the stars would align. Allowing her to know what she does not know now, in time. But it couldn't be done alone.

Kike had followed her new found friend, Nnyla, into the pack lands and had found herself at the pack clearing after a long trot from the boarder. So unlike her, Kike actually wanted to look around and explore her new home. Normally she would slink around, avoiding everyone until she could get a feel for them. To observe their daily routines and habits until she was comfortable enough to approach them. But with happiness bursting through her she could help the excited smile that graced her tawny lips as she advanced calmly into the clearing.

Autumn had painted beautiful colors through the trees. So beautiful it could make the heart sigh. And inwardly she did sigh, sighed at being sheltered in a pack that she could call home. Where she would and did have an actual friend instead of a sword hanging over her head everyday just waiting for a signal from a cruel alpha for it to release and end her life. Nnyla had said that everyone there were equals. A fact that was still hard to comprehend in her mind. Her previous pack had no such equality. It was "do your duty, keep your head down and mouth shut!" Otherwise the alpha may have had you executed for any number of imagined slights. Though she did like that Nnyla would just come right out and speak her mind. It was different, but nice.

But here there was none of that. Here it seemed everyone was genuinely happy for the air was thick with the ghosts of laughter that had come before. Kike, first let the hunter in her free, going with the side of caution that had for so long helped her to survive. She lay at the side of a large maple, her ears pricked for the sound of footfalls if they should draw near to her resting place. In a small shallow hollow, at the base of the tree, Kike worked her paws at widening it. She raked at the dry packed ground with her claws and  nosed away the multi hued colored leaves then lay facing the clearing to watch the comings and goings of her new pack mates.

As she walked around viewing how the Autumn season affected the trees, she spotted a she-wolf. Her coating was a mix of browns that blended somewhat in with the ground she lay upon underneath a maple tree. She raked at the dirt seemingly bored or lost in thought. And by the scent of her, she was fairly new as well. Perfect. Someone who is new to these lands as well and may be looking for someone to speak with.. Changing her direction she went and padded over to the vixen, amber-gray eyes brightened by curiosity. They seemed to be around the same age, with the other female a bit older than her. Perhaps a year or two or three. But age was just a number anyways, it said nothing about a wolf's capacity and personality. Just merely something that could be used to determine who has been on the Earth longest.

Letting a small smile grace her features the newly appointed Caretaker sat, a few feet away, with her tail placed gently at her side. Her voice was simple and friendly as she spoke, with a gentle lace of her curiosity."Afternoon, my friend. I am Caretaker Elsbeth, a newly appointed member. Might I ask, but who would you be?" Her head cocked to her left a tad, her lips still pulled back in a small smile. She was glad to have met someone around her age, sometimes the younger ones could be a bit in over their heads. Though she knew it was difficult to be helped, and didn't care much to point it out. It didn't bother her until it got way to out of hand anyway and that was when she would say something. Her fur rustled as a gentle wind blew by her ears trained forward for the sound of the other she-wolf's vocals.

Caretaker Kike, you need to go to the Ranks tab at the top of the page and choose "Helidos".

Her head up, eyes and ears alert, she scanned the clearing in her calm collected way. She observed a fae, her coat a lovely dark brown mixed with black and white with a mask of copper fur, as she wound her way through the camp. When her eyes met Kike's she changed the trajectory of where she was going to come towards her. A friendly smile graced her lips as she sat a pace or two away, her tail laying to the side of her thigh. She introduced herself as a fellow caretaker, her voice laced with curiosity and Kike was pleased to have one of the same rank as herself make herself known so soon. A delighted smile settled across her own maw as she took in her profile. A nice shape she had, her eyes a peculiar color that Kike found suited the woman in front of her. And the calm. The calmness was the most refreshing. Kike sat up on her haunches in respect not wanting to spoil another possible friendship and gave a bow of her head in response. Honeyed eyes shined with a happiness that she thought she would never feel again. "Hello to you as well, I am pleased to meet you Caretaker Elsbeth. I am also a new member. I was appointed caretaker as well. My name is Kike, Caretaker Kike." The fae called Elsbeth looked to be a couple years younger than herself, but in her eyes it looked to Kike that they were older. If not in body then in spirit. They seemed to have seen more.

Kike watcher her cock her head a bit to the side and she wondered what Elsbeth was thinking. Her wall was crumbling from around her the more she was in this place. It was like the ones she meets were tearing her wall down faster than she could keep them up...or was she just standing back and letting them tear it down. Hope was blossoming inside her at the prospect of living here. So far two wolves had greeted her with kindness and if this kept up she knew she had found her new home. Suddenly, a puppy like exuberance moved her and she stood to her paws, tail wagging with joy."Again, I am very much happy to meet you Elsbeth, may I call you Beth? It's been a very long time since I've had a friend." Kike calmed a bit then asked another question. Aware of her tail going almost crazy, she dropped it, letting it relax. But her eyes, after so long of living in darkness, came to life. "Sorry for the excitement. Do you know your way around here a bit?" she asked. Looking at her Kike wanted to have her as a friend. It would also be a good thing that if they were, they would have each other's back. That is if they were good friends.

The honey toned eyes of the other face before her showed such excitement and happiness that is was both overwhelming and exciting. It seemed as if she were new here too and had the goal to make a few friends and meet others. Caretaker Kike.. That was her name. Her voice floated into her ears which caused her small smile to widen a tad more. Her tone of voice was just as excited as her eyes which still had yet to dim. The multi-hued female had to say, she seemed bright and full of energy despite being older than she was. "Well then, I guess we will be seeing more of each other hmm? After all as our jobs are the same we'll probably overlap more than once or twice."

She took the remaining time after her words to take in her appearance more thoroughly. Shades of brown and tan covered her mass, and the hue of her orbs stood out nicely and complemented her features. She did have a nice build, not to large nor to small. Overall she seemed like someone that she'd love to get to know more. Suddenly the other vix jumped to her paws, her tail wagging like a pup seeing snow for the first time. The sight brought a small chuckle to come from the darker colored maiden's lips. This was... unexpected. However she didn't mind. It jus showed that the other was possibly even more excited for her company. Her apology coming soon after along with a question.

In reply Elsbeth could only smile and answer her wishes. "Yes, yes you may call me Beth. And it is exciting for me as well, my travels have brought me no time to properly get to know someone before we parted ways. A friend here would be very nice and welcoming and I think you've filled the first slot." At her quick apology she let out a small laugh. Her excitement was quite refreshing as she guessed her calmness was to the other vixen. "No worries, my friend. I find your excitement rather enlightening if you will. As for how well I know the area I am afraid I might just be as lost as you are."

Kike calmed herself further, dipping her head a bit in embarrassment. Her eyes though, still held their happiness at conversing companionably with another fae without stiffness, or an underlying anger. Too long she had been under the paw of a despicable alpha male, a male that her memories tried to overwhelm her with. But, she pushed them away, locking them behind a door where they'd hopefully never escape. Here in these lands of Helidos there was a sense of friendship, of family. She hadn't been there long and already in the space of a few heartbeats, the atmosphere of the clearing was seeping its calm and serenity into her soul. She felt no animosity anywhere. Then, a seed of doubt blew into her mind. Planting itself deep within her core. What if this feeling ends? What if something happened to destroy her new found home? What if a pack member from Ash's pack followed her here to kill her??? The last thought nearly had her in a panic of fear for these peaceful wolves. If any of them died by one of her previous pack then it would be her fault.

So many things passed through her mind, many scary images. But, her outward appearance showed nothing of her inner turmoil that was making her paranoid. A smile graced her maw as she lifted her head once more. "It's great to have finaly settled down." She said with a sigh and glanced around the clearing, her ears alert if another wolf showed itself. She turned back to her second new friend listening intently. Her ears pressed forward to catch every word Beth spoke. She brushed off Kike's apology, telling not to worry about it. She continued to speak, telling Kike that she herself was still fairly new. Kike nodded her head, hearing Beth say that she was just as lost as she was and knew very little about the lands they now inhabited.

She controlled her excitement, projecting a calm and happy aura as she voiced a few more questions. "What do you think we should do first? Go to the den and check it out?" she asked calmly, shifting her body so that she stood shoulder to shoulder with Beth. She was beginning to feel like an interrogator with all the questions she was asking. But, Kike waited patiently for her answers. She didn't want to seem rude.

The calm demeanor of the conversation seemed to still remain. Each vix could see the other's delight in their eyes. Both equally glad to have found a home and made a friend so quickly. Both of her meetings had been rather calm and light hearted. The conversations continuing without a seeming flaw and the two getting along fairly well. Though perhaps with Azul it may have been slightly forced, but they had gotten along just quite as fine as if they would have met and she was a membress. But here with Kike, nothing was forced, nothing was false, and no jumping to conclusions either. Evenly pure and smooth. In the future to come, Elsbeth hoped the two remained close and got to know each other more. And when the Spring came, if chosen to be given the task of helping a mated pair take care of their children, they would often let "their" kids play together as they talked and watched over them. The thought of the image let her soft smile grow, but it also soon disembarked from her mind as the other she-wolf began to once again speak.

"'What do you think we should do first? Go to the den and check it out?'" The cords and tongue of the darker shaded wolf progressed as she shifted to sit shoulder and shoulder with Beth. With a smile she leaned to the side lightly bumping her shoulder with her own as she let out a small laugh. Jumping to her feet she spoke. Her eyes bright and voice happy. "Sure why not? It would seem like a good place to start before anywhere else right?" Her tail wagged as an expression of her excitement to explore the area with he other vix. She wasn't sure if the other would react differently with her now boosted excitement, but with how she had reacted earlier the Caretaker could guess she'd be alright with it. After all, if one acts one way but dislikes it when another does it, what kind of wolf does that make them?

The two ladies were getting along quite well, but with that deeply imbedded fear inside her growing Kike tried to squash it. Her outward appearance however betrayed no hint to what she was feeling. Showing nothing of her inner war. The only emotion she let come to the surface of her being was her happiness. Her tail wagged, brushing the dried fallen leaves aside and revealing a wide swath of rich dark loam underneath as they chatted like old friends. Friends were something that Kike had never had in her previous pack, aside from their pups that is. She had not wanted to befriend the adults of that pack. They had treated her as if she were no better than a slave, but she could at least hunt and fight, rising through the ranks as she gave them the front that they had wanted. They had tried to brain wash her but she had caught on fairly quickly and faked the horrified looks that she had perfected whenever they spoke about the evil that other packs were. The faes telling her that they were only protecting the pups by stealing them away from the evil of their packs. No a friend or confidant in that pack had been out of the question. Only the pups did she love as if they were her own, and when they were cruelly ripped from her she had traversed that long dark path of depression. Now though, she was far away from that soul sucking pack, much to her relief. Here, in this pack of Helidos, she could almost feel the very air vibrating with positive energy, with an aura of..family? Yes, a family. That's what it felt like. A family of love.

Now, she had two adult wolves that she had befriended in such a short amount of time. If she had been born with the ability, she would have cried tears of joy that the fates had taken pity on her and showed her kindness in leading her to this pack. Kindness after so long in the bleak void of darkness. She had two friends that she dearly liked now, and she could count on them and they could count on her for she would have their backs. Beth bumped her shoulder gently, playfully into Kike's and Kike let a delighted smile beam it's brilliance upon Beth as she approved of the idea of going to check out the caretakers den. Her golden orbs reflected the bright gleam of happiness that also flowed within the depths of her companion.

Ah, to explore the wondrous lands that belonged to this pack had her instantly curious to see what mysteries it held. To wander it with this easygoing fae by her side would make her feel much more comfortable and at ease. The lightly colored fae was usually reserved, making it seem that she was cold hearted and unfeeling but it was just a wall that she had constructed around herself from the years of living under Ash's rule. She took a chance with her new friend and let that wall come down fully. Trusting Beth and the other wolves of Helidos. Kike Laughed with delight as Beth pranced around before her, the vixen mimicking her own actions she had displayed earlier. At least they were free to display their emotions here. So carefree with them. "Come on! Let's go sniff it out and see if there are other caretakers here." She said, striking a playful pose with her front end almost laying on the ground. Her paws splayed wide as her bottom rose up into the air, tail wagging like a banner as it tried to entice the other fae.
