The crisp autumn air nipped at Clare violently, sending a shiver down her spine. The winter was here, leaves were begining to change into vibrant colors. Although the cold winds would normallly force Clare to find shelter, today she enjoyed it. It had been months since the killing of Eli; it felt good to finally feel something, even if the wind could possibly freeze her to death. As the leaves accumulated in small piles, Clare couldn't help but drift off into her thoughts. The memories and thoughts of leaving her home came in an aggrevating rush. A sullen shadow seemed to wrap around her thoughts. Clare had instituted that she must forget the past, but with the fuzzy snow that now came down like a black and white flim, her mind couldn't help but wonder off. She wondered how her father was, was he better? Had her mother left him, or was she still with him? Are they even alive? The last question made Clare grimance. Although her parents didn't treat her well, she still had a heart. She couldn't imagine death upon them, only vengeance. As the snow swirled down in a violent squall, she pushed her ears back and lowered her head. Somehow, winter was always her favorite season. She smiled as she remembered how her real father would take her ice skating on a large lake by the boarder. Remembering how gallantly her father was as he stepped onto the ice, her mother soon following, made her miss him even more. Those were the good days, where family was one and she didn't need to be afraid of the world. She had everything she wanted, until the world decided to unleash all hell upon her. Clare looked up and squinted her eyes, a snowflake landed on her maw and she closed her eyes. Some may see the snow, while others feel the snow. That was what others didn't understand as they gazed at Clare and heard her story, the look of pity in their eyes. They might seen the pain, but never had they felt the pain.

Clare cursed the day she was given the scar on her maw, a constant reminder of what she was running from. Running from her problems was easy, but forgetting them was the hardest. Opening her eyes, her baby blue eyes scanned the area. She had no idea why she was out here, but for some reason she felt the need to continue forward. As she observed the area, a strong scent of a marking made her stop in her tracks. Lifting her muzzle up, she smelled the cold air, following the scent of what soon became a marking of a border. Clare sighed and turned, walking away with soft steps. She was use to passing borders, but never did she call upon the pack. After leaving home, she did eventually find a home called Cedar Grove. There she met two fantastic females- Flash and Ariste. Together they were like sisters. But her home was soon ruined, causing her to go on her own once again. But it seemed like the world was giving her a second chance, soon leading Eli to her. Taking a few more steps away, she couldn't help but pause. What if this was what she needed? Is there such a thing called a third chances? Well, you never know unless you try. Turning around, she made her way back to the border, standing there. Was she really ready for another home? A lucky chance for it to be taken away like the others? Flashes of doubt passed through her mind, but she pushed them aside. No more doubts, time to have some morals. Arching her back, closing her eyes, she sang a melody. The soft, but confident, melody bounced off the trees out into the unknown, white void. Lowering her head, she could hear the melody echoing, the wind becoming her mockingjay. She smiled slightly and watched the snow, waiting for someone to anser her call. Maybe  third chances do exist?

Gazing into the white abyss, a shadow appeared. It seemed to melt into with all the nature surrounded it, but yet contrasting at the same time. A beautiful fae who walked out and sat in front of Clare, it seemed as if Clare was looking into to a mirror, the only difference was the faes eyes. Her amber eyes looked glistened with silent joy, something Clare could not help avoid and she smiled. As the fae spoke, Clare was careful to listen and to pay full attention, this wasn't her first time at a border. Her smile widened and she bowed her head slightly, “Hello Delta Rose, I’m Clare. It’s a pleasure to meet you.” She shifted her paws and sat down, mirroring her posture. “I come to ask acceptance inside your pack. I have come from far away and my journeys have prepared me for this moment. I will bring strength and loyalty to this pack, if you allow me. I am a great hunter, speed is in my favor.” Clare’s ears flicked slightly as she a leaf fell down on top of her head, making her shake her head slightly. She watched the fae and took in  her appearance. Clare was normally never able to become friends with females, for she always coward away from others. Gazing at the fae with such a joyful demeanor, she couldn’t help but crave a friendship from her. Maybe an optimistic friend is what she needed in life, and what she could see now, this fae has been her long. Maybe life won’t rip her away like the rest?
