A Day in The Life of a Healer [Cael] Empty
PostSubject: A Day in The Life of a Healer [Cael] A Day in The Life of a Healer [Cael] Icon_minitimeJuly 27th 2016, 08:33

Crow bustled around the healer's den. His mind not really focused on his task at paw. Organizing his supply of herbs, whilst making note of the ones he was running low on or was completely out of. No instead, Crow was lost in his head. Agitation clear in his features, his teeth gritted, bristle tail held limply behind him. Not his usual cheery self, though he had no idea why. His nerves just felt grated, like something was poking away at his subconscious. An irritating sort of itch that he just couldn't shake. " The hell is wrong with you?" He growled, when he accidentally paired the wrong herbs in the same pile. Fixing his mistake Crow, leans back to sit on his haunches. Closing his beady green eyes he inhaled deeply. The vast array of herbal aromas filling his nasal passages to the brink. Until at last he could no longer hold his breath and let it out. What seems to be the matter? He wonders, nibbling on an itchy bit of chest fur. His mind casting to the events of the past few days. Finally landing on his secret meeting with the Alpha of Helidos and his own Alpha Desmond.

Ah yes.... Crow had been present for a very important meeting. One that had joined the two packs together in alliance. Yet this was something Crow had wanted so why were his nerves so edgy? Puzzled, Crow bites his lip perturbed. He had been the one who'd suggested the meeting. Never having expected it to go further than an alliance between the healers of the packs. But at the meeting Sitka had revealed more serious matters. An all encompassing alliance against a pack the brute had called Erenyx. It seemed the ruler of that pack had murdered the former Alphess of Helidos. Along with many of their key pack members. Leaving the pack drained and weak. Vulnerable to attack, hence Sitka's proposal for an alliance. So the meeting had go on, with Desmond agreeing to Agavos joining forces with Helidos against this so called monster. A meeting to be set up for the packs to meet. So why was Crow feeling the crunch of his nerves?

Shifting the scruffy Healer opened his eyes back up, glancing at his collection of herbs. Comfrey, Thyme, Alder, Catmint and countless others. Some in greater quantities than others. A good stalk considering the deathly dry weather the pack had been enduring. Would it be enough though? He couldn't help but wonder as he stared down blankly. Would anything he did be enough? He was a healer, it was his job to assure the health and well being of all he came across. But how was he suppose to do that if war threatened to consume his comrades. What if he wasn't good enough... what if wolves died...? And that was what had set his nerves ablaze. The imminent threat of death. Uncontrollable, undefeatable death. Crow could not fight it, he could try however wolves would die. Like his dear brother Sparrow they would die, ripping them from this world. Taking them away from those they loved. The very idea making the healer's heart break. " No." He mutters out loud. " I won't allow it. No one else dies." He voice was a determined rasp, eyes blazing. Deep down however he knew his efforts were futile. He could not protect all from death. Only delude himself into believing he could.

PostSubject: Re: A Day in The Life of a Healer [Cael] A Day in The Life of a Healer [Cael] Icon_minitimeJuly 27th 2016, 09:10

It had been a couple weeks since he was injured and since he joined Agavos. His ankle was feeling much better except for it being occasionally sore. Within the time of being away from the Healer den, Cael had mainly been staying around the clearing. But eventually he got bored. He had never, not been able to train and work himself, he had always been able to at least run. But this, this was different. He was injured, and yet he still left the clearing that one day. It wasn't like he worked himself really hard, he just... wanted to explore his new home. Although the Healer probably would not be pleased with the fact that he left in the first place, especially since he put a lot of weight on it while hunting. But Cael really didn't care, he wasn't going to sit around all day and let himself waste away. But right now those moments at Springhill were all that was going through his mind. Because although he wasn't supposed to be doing much on his ankle, he did do stuff. And now he was heading to the Healers den because of his ankle. The ankle that he stupidly injured. Because he couldn't just follow the Elite back home and decided to trek through lands he didn't know well in the dark. You could say Cael was angered with himself, but really, he was just disappointed. So as he walked back into the clearing and towards the healers den he noted the pain in his ankle. It didn't hurt much at all, in fact it felt quite well. But there still was the distant feeling of a little soreness and he knew, that maybe if he didn't go hunting, he probably wouldn't be feeling that. Cael felt as if he was good enough to do anything right now though. He felt like he could run to the top of a mountain. But he wouldn't. He felt a little guilty about even leaving just to explore. He wouldn't risk injuring himself even more then he already was.

Cael stopped at the entrance of the Healers den and by the scent of it, Crow was in there. It was mainly silent and Cael went to speak but soon heard Crow's voice. It wasn't cheery and happy at all, and by the sounds of it he was worried about wolves dying. But why? Was something happening between his pack and another? Or was it just a worry altogether for him. Cael didn't know and was a bit curious as to why that was. But he wasn't sure if it was disrespectful to walk into the Healers den without permission so he called into it, "Crow?" He could hear his voice echoing through the den. Waiting patiently for the voice of the Healer again. He didn't know what to expect when confronted by the Healer. So Cael just waited, peering into the dark den. His face showing no emotion to how he truly felt, which was a bit worried for the Healer. If he was worried about war, then he could end up worrying himself so much that it puts him out of his job. Then what will the pack do without a Healer to help them in the case of an injury. Cael pushed those thoughts aside quickly though. Cael wouldn't mind a war, he loved fighting and it would put his skills to the test. But he could see how others could be worried. There would probably be wolves stronger then them. But the way Cael saw it, if he couldn't win a fight. Then he wasn't worthy of it in the first place. His thought process may be a bit different then others, but he didn't mind. His ways worked for him, so he shouldn't be complaining.

Crow's worried agitated state was disrupted by a tentative voice calling his name. Blinking his beady green eyes, Crow wonders if he was hearing things. However as he cast his nose into the air, he could smell the familiar scent of Warrior Cael. Rising to his paws, Crow attempts to hide the agitation in his features. His gritted maw loosening into a smile, he turns towards the entrance of the den. " Warrior Cael, please come in." He murmurs, his voice a low rasp. Shaking his head some Crow shoved his misgivings aside. Cael was most likely here for his check up and Crow couldn't be distracted. Not when a wolf was in need of his assistance. Pull yourself together, he thought. " Have a seat won't you. Please let me take a look at your ankle." He adds, waiting for the brute to enter his dimly lit abode. His nimble paws shuffling against the cool dirt as he waited. His body still more tense than normal, his thoughts scattered. He takes a deep breath and lets it out. Your useless like this, he thought. You mustn't allow your fear to consume you....

Cael listened closely to not only his surroundings elsewhere but inside the den. Peering into the den before he heard Crow call him in, so Cael moved slowly into it looking for the brute until his eyes fell upon his dark form. He nodded to him a greeting and sat as Crow wished and held up his paw for him to examine. He noticed the smile that was held on his face, even after what he heard Crow speaking of. So Cael decided that Crow must be hiding his troubles. Cael wanted to ask about it and get more answers about this pack maybe, but he figured that Crow did not want to show that he was experiencing any issues. He wasn't sure whether to ask about it or not. So eventually he might decide to, but Cael decided it was best to avoid that at the moment. Especially since he seemed quite tense, and Cael was a bit hesitant to tell him about hunting. He knew it was best to speak the truth but if it would upset this brute, Cael did not want to speak of it at the moment. He did not know how Crow would be if he were truly angered, so he would just wait. Tell him if he asked about it first. Crow was obviously not in a good mood and the fact that he put strain on his ankle most likely would not help his mood. So he just sat silently and waited for the brute to speak. After all, this brute did like to speak a lot. He just wasn't sure what it would be about and how much longer he would have to keep off his ankle. So he was glad that he was here with Crow, to not only get answers but to take whatever was on the brutes mind away. Distract him from his thoughts. And maybe get to know him better to actually have an ally in this new, unknown, land.

Crow blinks realizing Warrior Cael had joined him in the den. His beady gaze flickering over the brute, he inclines his skull to examine his paw. " How has it...." His words trail off as he peers closer to Cael's ankle, using his maw to slide the piece of bark he had placed on it as a brace off. His eyes suddenly narrowing he looks back to the brute's face. " You haven't been taking it easy have you?" He accuses, anger flashing in the depths of his pale green eyes. He snorts turning away from the brute, his worries of before forgotten. Anger bristling in his fur like a porcupine that had been taunted. He stomps over to his supply of herbs, sifting through them in search of the ones he needed. Muttering under his breath in annoyance. " Nobody ever listens to me. You know why listen to the healer, he only wants to make sure you can walk again." He huffs, grabbing up what he needed from his supplies and tromping back over to Cael. He drops down the herbs, then grabs another piece of bark from the pile.

" Now your going to have to wear one of these for another few days. If you had listened to me... well you wouldn't be in this predicament!" He snaps, pushing the bark onto Cael's leg far less gently than he had the first time around. Once finished he shoves some herbs towards the brute. " Eat those!" He growls, " Or suffer the consequences of your foolish actions..." He adds, daring the warrior to argue. " I don't know why I bother with you pack wolves sometimes. Your all a bunch of num nuts, if you ask me..." He mutters darkly, turning away to arrange his herbs once more. " I've got more important things to worry about than you and your ankle. You ever think of that? Hm? Lives to save? No you only think of yourselves!" Grumbling he continues on under his breath.

[ Lol sorry he's in a very bad mood! ]
