| Only a few moons had passed since Seyda had been accepted into the pack, but she had not yet let herself relax. She was having difficulties making friends among her pack members, a fault of her own. She was as seemingly cold and uncaring as the high mountains she'd been born and raised on. She was a wolf from the far north born into a land where a single misstep would lead to a gruesome death for not just a pup, but any wolf. A place where wolves starved in the spring and summer as easily as they did in the winter. In a place where to survive, a pack must rely on one another. No one knew a knowledge more than Seyda knew that. And so, she settled into an uneasy routine.
Each day, she awoke well before dawn and surveyed the living area of the pack from the den she'd scouted and dug out. It was slightly set away from all the other dens and slightly elevated. It was a strategic place she'd chosen so she could step out of her den and, in an emergency, immediately read whatever was happening and spring into action. She would then drift through the dark morning air as ethereal and nearly invisible as smoke itself until she came to a clearing that had become more and more familiar to here.
Here, she trained. She trained relentlessly and for hours, until her tongue lulled and her whole body shook with her pants, and still she trained. Pushing her body regularly to the edge, so she'd know where the edge was and how to push it back. She trained until her limbs trembled and her body demanded that she eat something. And then she trained again. Until well into the morning and the afternoon, she finally came to a stop.
After her training, she returned to the living area of the den, snatching a rabbit to eat as she did so. Once there, she spent equally as many hours dedicated to reacquainting herself with pack life. She submerged herself in the traditions and expectations of it. Observed how wolves reacted to other wolves of lower, equal, and higher rank than themselves. This was the time she also tried to make friends, although it was hard for her. She remained aloof despite the never ending politeness she addressed every wolf with and she had made no real strides forward in making a friend, or even an acquaintance. During this time she tried to be as helpful to as many wolves as she could, politely inquiring if anything was needed. Most refused and sent her on her way.
After her time among the camp, Seyda's favorite part of the day came. She went running. Determined to know every inch of these lands that we're know hers, she spent hours exploring as much of the terrain as she could. She explored close to the living area first before branching out in her chosen direction that day, exploring all the way to the borderlands. In this way, she was slowly becoming intimately familiar with every inch of the packs lands.
On her way back, with the sun having already set behind her, Seyda sought out herbs or rabbits to return to camp with, knowing that every wolf must contribute as much as they could during these harsh winters. Where her pack was from, every wolf hunted, every wolf learned to fight, every wolf learned healing. A pack could not afford to keep a single mouth that did not hunt for the pack.
Returning to the pack, Seyda dropped off whatever herbs or food she'd managed to catch before once more spending time among the pack, trying to become a part of them before retreating to her den to sleep for a few hours, wake, and do it all again...

Seyda was back in her small clearing, training just as the sun came up. She felt off today, like she couldn't quite clear her head immerse herself in training like she usually did. She growled loudly in frustration and took a swipe at a tree, gouging long claw marks into the bark.
She was feeling incredibly upset with herself, both from her failure to really connect with any member of the pack thus far and also her inability to lose herself in training like she was usually able to do. She took in a deep breath, retreating within herself to try and recenter herself.

| It was unusually early for the male to be up and reasonably awake, but he made due with the energy on hand and hunted a small portion for the pack's food-pile towards the heart of camp. He took pride in such an achievement, being that usually by this hour, he was still very much asleep and dreaming of the past where some of the worst, and greatest memories of his lie. He'd never tell a soul of such times, at least not now, not while he was still trying to get a feel of his new home, even if he had been here for a few months now. Xerentis knew his limits upon adjusting, and knew ahead of time that it would take a lot longer than a few months to settle in just quite. In that time since arrival, he had manage to socialize with a great portion of his pack, dropping his name here and there, but never to make a huge impression with friends or colleagues other than the dearest warrior prior to the training session held at the start of the pack's formation. But he also made friendly relation with the Delta male at the borders, secretly hoping that bond could potentially grow stronger in the near future, however not allowing his hopes to get the best of him, too. There were still several to keep in touch with, and his interests grew stronger with the competing hunters here at his side. Everyone held a purpose, the wolf knew, but if he truly wished to make his mark on these territories, he'd have to stand above the rest. Currently, his attention rested on a few hunters, and even warriors, noticing their skills and harnessing them to make him stronger in secret. This was how he learned - observing others quietly as a spectator and training himself to fight alone, or at least, that's how its been since leaving his natal district. His mind wandered off to wonder what was going on at home before he shook his head and connected with the present. There was no time for that, only sleep could bring him the effort now, he had more important tasks to tend to as of now.
As noon rolled on by for the hunter, Xerentis had managed to add four plump hares from the last hour to the community pile. It wasn't much, but it was four more to add than what he had captured that early morning. His shift was through, at least for now it was, and he selfishly treated the next few hours to himself to enjoy before going back to his duties. The dark ivory pelt of his matched the dirt-ridden snow which he walked on, snowflakes collecting at his backside and ears as he'd casually stroll through the terrain whilst carrying a quiet hum. His bi-colored eyes peered through the opening land curiously, catching the body of another not far off from where he stood nearest the pond. The brute stood still for just a moment, registering her scent from the given distance to ensure she was in fact in heat, and wondering if he should greet her properly or politely leave her be. She looked distraught, worn down even, as if she had over stressed her body in an unforgivable way. Narrowing his aqua and fiery amber eyes in concern, he decided to risk in going forth with the idea of meeting face to face, keeping his presence low as he'd naturally walk forwards on silent paws. He tried not to disturb her as he'd enter the land and expose himself beneath the winter sky's light, keeping her fully in his view before nearing the pond before them both. "Something troubling you, miss?" Xerentis asked, politely ducking his head in equal respect for whatever rank she held, and noticing how new she was by her scent as he leaned down to drink from the cool waters. He lapped as much as it took to quench his dry throat, retreating back to a standing, level chinned positioned to peer towards her with mild concern. Even though he was of no superior rank or a healer by choice, it was his duty to take responsible for all his packmates. This became apart of him from a young age when death was unable to be ignored in his family - such qualities came easy, for him, it took a lot of agony to get him to where he was in the present. |

| If Seyda was surprised by the approach of the male, she made no signs of it. Yes, her eyes had been closed but her other senses were just as keen. She had scented the male and he had smelled of Pryvanthros. She knew that did not necessarily mean she was safe from any harm from her pack mates but from what she had observed, they were all loyal and honorable wolves.
What was most impressive to her, perhaps, was she had not heard his approach. Certainly she had heard tell tale signs of something in the area. But it could have easily have been minutes away, as small as a mouse. She had not heard an approach of a wolf. Whomever he was, he was stealthy. A hunter, perhaps? She flicked her ears in the direction she smelled him in, straining to pick up any sound he made.
When his words reached her, Seyda opened her eyes. She was feeling much calmer than she had all morning and she was actually glad to have been found by this other wolf. It was an easy way to distract her. She turned to face him full on, dipping her obsidian head respectfully as she observed him with her unwavering icy gaze. Another ivory wolf. There seemed to be many of those in this pack. However, she found herself momentarily stunned when she looked into his eyes. She was used to her own glowing eyes catching people off guard, especially in the night when her fur made her seem all but invisible and her pale azure irises glowed. This wolf's eyes were just as eery as her own. One eye was an aquamarine while the other was a close to red amber color. They were beautiful, she thought, her head tilting to the side slightly as she observed him.
"I am fine. I simply found myself struggling this morning." Seyda said, her voice low and musical. She was going to leave it at that but she did not want to seem distant and cold as she so often did. "I apologize for my poor manors. It has been a very long time since last I was regularly in the company of other wolves. It seems I am no longer talented at interactions." She finished softly, a slight dip in her melodic voice, the only indication she was unhappy with what she had just admitted.
She dipped her head respectfully once more, "I am Warrior Seyda, accepted at the borders by Alphess Chiara only moons ago. I do not believe I have been introduced to you." Seyda finished, trying to sound as polite as she could. She was really making an effort to ingratiate herself to at least some of the wolves she came into contact with.
