Renegades [Open] Empty

The Delta decided to wander the lands aimlessly. He had no particular place in mind and nobody who he particularly wanted to join him. He was relaxed this morning. The autumn mornings were becoming frosty and increasingly cold by the day. His mind wandered form his body, thinking of things that he never thought of before as his paws carried him somewhere, anywhere. Rushing water was sounded ahead, which pulled the white male's attention back to reality. He smiled and slowly moved closer to the murky waters that were before him. It was a secluded little area, which was quite pleasing to the male. He had not found a place that he could retreat to when his daily life of a Delta became exhausting. His body pulled him to a flat boulder that peak a little over the waters below. Smiling as he moved closer, he decided to take this spot as his rock of relaxation. He climbed up upon the large, flat rock and slowly inched forward. He did not want to get wet today. Once he heard no cracking or crumbling of the rocks and dirt, he carefully placed his body down into a comfortable position. Leaning on his side, he let his left paw dangle off the edge as his right foreleg became a rest for his head. The sounds of the small waterfall and tiny fry leaping in the waters were sooting to his ears. It was the most relaxed he had been in a long time. Tranquility filled the area as nothing but the sounds of the forest around him began to sing a melodious song. He inhales the air, crisp and clear. Then exhaled, allowing his lungs and body to relax and give into nature. He was not tired, so he did not try to sleep. he simply laid there, relaxed and at peace.

His mind began to wander once more. He though of those whom he had accepted into their pack. There was Paislee, Tastu, and the only male he had accepted, Xerentis. They all had some quirks to them, as it was clear that they all had some sort of expertise in something, but not knowing what. He had an odd connection to the Hunter in which he had last spoken to at the border. His bi-colored eyes were permanently cemented into his brain. They were nothing like he had seen before. His personality was unlike that of others he had spoke to. He was honest and said he would do what he can to serve this pack. It made Malachai wonder about him. He was odd, that he knew. There was something about this other brute that intrigued the Delta. Malachai had then decided that he would keep an eye on him, just in case he isn't who he said he was. He had no concerns about Tastu and Paislee, as they clearly were not the most experienced of fighters. He then huffed, thinking to himself. When will that one beautiful female come along and make me act like a fool? It made him smile at the though, just a little. he knew he wasn't entirely ready for a commitment such as a mate, but he sure was interested in mingling. He wanted to keep his options open, but not too open where someone he may have no interest in wanders in and tries to get with him. He knew that Tastu and Paislee were not options for him. He looked at them almost like apprentices soon becoming warriors. They still had a lot of training and learning to do, and he would gladly put himself in the place of a mentor if he so needed. He would for anyone, for that matter. If one needed help in learning new fighting or hunting techniques, he would happily assist them in such a thing.

Slowly, his mind went blank. His cyan eyes fluttered closed, but not for sleep. His breathing was deep and slow as he meditated. He was completely relaxed att hat moment. Maybe, someone else would wander along and they could simply enjoy the beauty around them and discuss anything and everything. Who that one might be? He had no solid idea, but he shrugged to himself and thought that he would find out eventually.

((OOC: Mind if I pop in? I could use some extra threads :D))

To put it bluntly, Paislee felt like an idiot. She had nearly screwed up her chances at the border, then was selfish enough to ask the alphess herself if the warrior could have a higher rank. Stupid, Paislee growled to herself. It was almost torture to be putting herself through the internal war, trying to decide if she was a good wolf or not. Should she even be alive? She greatly missed her pups, and Jacob... Jacob, wherever he was now, had to miss her... Surely, he resented her, at least a little bit, for not even trying to save him. For not waiting to allow herself to die with him. But no, she was selfish... The war raged on inside her, the demons and the angels fighting as they desperately tried to decide whether or not Paislee deserved to be alive. Such a cruel way to see yourself, as cruel and selfish, yet at the same time, most of her believed every word she told herself.

Finally, she couldn't take it anymore. She needed something to distract her and get her away from the constant reprimanding she put upon herself. She finally looked up from the soft dirt and moss that she had laid at the bottom of her den, and she turned her almost emotionless gaze toward the entrance of the den. She rose from her haunches and trotted, her blank expression never leaving, out of the cave in the side of the strange cliff like formation. She walked across the clearing and headed out into the territories of her home. You're pathetic, a voice chorused in her head. You messed up, but yet you pity yourself in an attempt to make others pity you as well. You attention-seeking leech, get over yourself. She snarled, shaking her head violently from left to right. That voice was tormenting her, yet at the same time, it also kept her sane from the almost too good side of her. You let Jacob die, and your pups too. You should feel sorry for yourself; you're not pathetic because your pity yourself, you're pathetic because you value your life over your own family's. Scratch that... maybe that side was just as bad as the other.

Either way, the pain was just beyond her breaking point, and she was slowly growing weary from the persistent debate between the two sides. "Nice going, Paislee," she laughed bitterly to herself. "You've failed, yet again. Not only that, but you failed at controlling your own conscience? Both the demons and angels are both right... you are pathetic." Was it worth it? No. Was it right? No. Was it going to affect her anymore than anything else in this insane life? Probably not. She leapt over a fallen tree with ease, her muscles contracting and releasing like springs underneath her silver pelt. Her diamond eyes shifted across her surroundings, while the war continued. Her expressionless face never changed, simply lifeless and turned into almost a frown. Oh, what a life. Randomly, she remembered an old song that her mother used to sing to her when she couldn't sleep, the familiar rhythm and notes all permanently sketched into her mind forever. She finally came to the bank of a pond, and she glanced at her reflection in the rippling water, desperately trying to convince herself that she was good... that she was worth it.

"Come up to meet you,
Tell you I'm sorry
Come up to meet you
Tell you I'm sorry
You don't know how lovely you are

I had to find you
Tell you I need you
Tell you I set you apart
Tell me your secrets
And ask me your questions
Oh let's go back to the start
Running in circles; coming up tails
Heads on a science apart

Nobody said it was easy
It's such a shame for us to part
Nobody said it was easy
No one ever said it would be this hard
Oh take me back to the start..."

She couldn't help but smile as the words drifted into the air and floated around in her mind. She didn't realize how quickly the memories from the past quickly changed her mood and how she was thinking. Images of how she used to fall asleep pressed up against her siblings and her mother, while she dreamed innocent and childish dreams about her father whom she never even met. As her eyes skimmed over the water, taking in the aspects of her smile and trying to manipulate the things she was saying before into better things, like how much she missed Jacob, and how he surely missed her as well... And her pups, even though they never grew up, and their lives were cut shorter than any wolf deserved, she still was willing to bet that they loved her as much as she did them. She flicked her icy blue gaze up, and it landed on a white figure across the pond. She immediately dropped into a crouch, hiding behind a bush, but it did little to conceal her. Did they hear her singing? Did she bother them by being there? Silent worries filled her mind, washing away the happy memories. Who was that? she thought frantically.

Between the sounds of the water and the other creatures around him, a voice came form nearby. He immediately recognized it as the female he had accepted at the border. The warrior called Paislee. His ears perked, looking for where her voice had been coming from. He figured that she must have seen him, but not recognized him. She must have crouched or hid in the nearby brush to avoid being seen. He pondered on wether he should acknowledge her presence, or leave her be to come out into the open on her own. Shrugging, he called out into the blank area. "I could hear you. I know you're hiding. I have no need or wish to harm you." He flicked his tail and focused back on the waters that rocked below his paws as they dangled form the edge of the large rock. He looked out over the small pond, trying to spot a fish or two for a meal if he gets a bit peckish. Nothing particularly bothered him about someone being around him in his state of relaxation. Now, if this other began to tell the ghostly male about their life and feelings, he certainly would leave or tell them to stop talking. He was not in the mood to speak of feelings and such. Even if he wished to, Paislee would not be the one for him to exhort those feels out to. He looked around the area, wondering if she would appear or remain hidden until he left the the pond. if that is what she so wished, she would be waiting a long time. He was not leaving anytime soon.

The thought for a little while, wondering about his next moves as the Delta. What was to come of him? Maybe he would ask the alphas if he could hold a pack hunt to see what these newcomers were made of. Or perhaps spars to test their strength. He thought about it, and would surely bring it up in his next meeting with the pair. A cold wave of wind rushed though the valley. His winter coat had already begun growing in, so he did not feel the cold of the wind on his body. He suspected that no young would be birthed into the pack this time around, as they were still small and slowly growing. They would not have enough time to support pups at this time unlike the other packs. Pyrvanthros still have rules to create and wolves to meet and welcome to their now home. He thought that Magnus and Chiara would have a litter at some point within the next year or so, so they would have an heir to the throne. He knew that may happen, and more than likely in most situations. He would not mind pups running around, as it would surely bring out the more childish part of him. It would also bring out the father figure in himself as the alphas would not always be able to keep an eye on their young. Either way, he was loyal to them entirely and would make sure they, and his pack mates, would not come to harm. This was his home. His family. He was an important role within the pack, and would not let them down. Especially Magnus. He wanted to prove himself tot he alpha male. He knew that it would take time, which was understandable. He already had Chiara's trust, but her mate would be difficult. He wished nothing but loyalty to him and his mate, and he just needed to prove that by being the best he could possibly be. He wanted to show Magnus that he made the right decision with allowing him to follow them. And granting him the privilege of being their Delta.

The more he thought, the more his mind thought of new things. He thought of litters being born, becoming a mentor for a young one someday. He thought of himself being a role model for the younger ones, and even some warriors who wished to be one of the best. Malachai wanted to be one of the best. He desperately wanted to. He wanted to forget his former life and start new. Clean. He was going to be the wolf he knew he could be. One that was successful, and cared about his pack mates. A wolf who knows right from wrong and pointed it out the second it's noticed. He wanted to simply be himself. He never got to be that before. Simply himself.
