| After resting up, she'd been told to get to know the territory. She thought and thought about where to go. There is Eden's Hollow, Rapid Falls, Grazing Plains, Slippery Swamp, and Amor Glade. Since she wanted to relax just a little more, she decided to travel to the falls. Even though she was told of the dangers the falls held, Aveira still wished to go. Always had she been a wolf of curiosity and of exploration. She traveled paw-look-paw, paw-listen-paw, for she was still afraid of the woods, even if it has been years since the attack. As she went, she became more excited. "I wonder if there is anyone else there!" Even as old as she was, she couldn't help but let out her energy, quickening her pace to almost a gallop and lengthening her strides to as long as they could go.
She made it to the falls, exhausted, but still ready to play. She looked across the way, seeing nothing but water rushing towards her. Suddenly, she became very timid. All of her energy vanished, leaving a shell of a wolf. Aveira then lowered herself to the ground, not daring to take another step, to just watch the water. She looked down, moving her paws in the dirt. The fae sighed, wishing she hadn't come. "Where is Ember? I'm sure she'd be willing to train me for a little while..."
Something moved in the corner of her eye. She lifted her head to try to get a better look, but the spray of the falls clouded her vision as it leapt into her golden eyes. "Who's there?" She barked. Standing, she notice stones, almost like a jumping path. She visualized herself jumping across the rocks. "No sweat..." She murmured. Aveira placed her paw on the stone to swiftly swipe it away. She began to pace back and forth, pondering the question on how she is going to get to that thing she saw before. "What'll I do? I'm too afraid to jump..." She perked her ears, noticing what just came out of her maw. Enraged, Aveira replied to her own statement. "I am NEVER afraid! I certainly won't be now!"
She hopped on the stone, hoping she won't slip. "Now the next one." She said to herself. Aveira leaped from stone to stone, never loosing her determination. Eventually though, she stopped cold. "Did I take the wrong stone?" She whispered. Her floating island was about seven feet away from the stable ground. She gripped the stone tight as water drenched her golden fur. "Is anyone here???" She whined. "Can someone help me???" Aveira waited to see a wolf, any wolf. |

| Just a few hours prior, Cerys reached the pack boarder and called her greeting. The mahogany brute Marrok greeted her and welcomed her into the pack, christening her a warrior and inviting her to explore her new home. After he had run off, she had been given the choice to either venture to the camp and get to know the pack as a whole or explore the territory first. Multiple factors weighed on her mind. Getting to know many wolves at once sounded fun, but she felt more confident with the thought of chancing upon them one at a time. It also appealed to explore so that she’d have the chance to hunt. While she wasn’t the most skilled, the rumbling in her stomach certainly encouraged her to try.
Following her nose, she caught many interesting scents. Prey and wolves and terrain unexplored all filled her senses, and she found herself bounding forward eagerly. Emerald eyes were alit as she took in her new home, and while her loud gallop alerted the prey and chased it into hiding, she wasn’t put off. She was reveling in just running nowhere and knowing she could waste the energy because she would be safe for now. She would have a pack that would keep her safe. At least, she hoped they would. If they didn’t, it wouldn’t take much to regain her strength and travel on. It was all some grand test view of finding what she wanted and putting it to the test.
Soon enough, a particular scent, one familiar but different caught her attention, and she headed towards it. In her home to the north, there had been a waterfall. She had always been rather fond of spending her days there, racing across the rocks to help train herself to move faster, make her jumps more precise. It had been one of her fondest memories of the territory she’d grown up in, and when she saw the great mist of the water cascading down, her silver tipped tail wagged with glee, and she couldn’t resist the desire to leap into the pond at the bottom. She splashed below, snapping at the fish she saw and missing grossly, until she heard something. It was just a ghost on the wind at first, and then heard it again and looked up.
There was a fae stuck up above. Her heart froze in her chest as she could see the fear in every line of the other wolf. Clearly, she was stuck.
Climbing from the pond, she quickly made her way to the top of the falls, racing frantically. Cerys had the heart of a hero, and seeing any wolf suffer wasn’t in her capability. She didn’t want to leave the other fae there longer than she had to. As soon as she was at the top of the falls, she bound up to the edge of the river and looked across the distance. "Can you turn back?" she barked. Her tail stood straight out behind her as she looked across the distance. If the fae made the jump, she’d be safe, but if she didn’t, the current would sweep her over. Heading back seemed the safest. |

| Aloe Vera....Celandine...
The raven black fae glided like a feather over the rocks, stepping effortlessly over the slippery stones. Her yellow eyes flashed as she searched for the two precious herbs that she needed. Her search led her to the place called Rapid Falls, where the water sprang from its bedrock, freefalling to the pool below. She had seen a few falls throughout her life, but none as beautiful as this one. True, some were large and majestic, but the way the water fell into the pool, with fish lazily swimming around in its depths, with the flowers springing up at the sides, and the way the rocks looked as water splashed on the sides, it was magical. She could spend a few brief moments away from her quest, couldn't she? The herbs were for her personal use, not the Healers, though they may appreciate a few clumps of Aloe Vera, seeing how rare it was.
Leaning her head down by the pool's edge, her pink tongue flicked out, dipping into the water and curling back up to enter her mouth. The water splashed on her naked skin, temporarily relieving the pain of dry skin cracking, opening old scars. Aloe Vera should be nearby, but she wasn't sure about Celandine. It was a flower, so it should be in a meadow or something of the like. Stretching out her skeleton-thin limbs, she got up, ready to continue the journey to find the herbs she needed.
Suddenly her eyes flickered towards to movement over to the top of the Falls. A golden-amber fae, with black on her back, was hopping from stone to stone on the top of the falls. The fae was almost halfway across the falls, before she was stranded on a rock. Rolling her saffron-yellow eyes, she heard the fae call for help. She was about to respond when she heard another fae's voice. Would she help her? Erika climbed up the rocks, curious if the fae would actually make it across the falls. |

| The scent of other wolves is what drove Ember there as she walked. The scar on her face bared to all as well as the pelt of any other gray wolf. Well, that and she couldn't help but want to explore what she had forgotten. Smells and sights so foreign to her yet she knew that she had most likely been here before. It seemed that many wolves came there, the fading scents of other who were probably gone proved that. She walked leisurely along, taking her steps absentmindedly. The sights of the forest were comforting, but the cry for help was not. Ember's ear flicked forward from where they were resting against her head. The fae went from a walk to steady run and she listened for another cry for help. If there was another then that would mean the wolf was alive. When there wasn't one Ember moved into a flat out sprint, desperate to help another from possibly being killed. The scent of the wolf was close but faint, two others surrounding it. A sigh of relief and a gasp of worry both came from her. The wolf in need could be getting help, but she could also be in grave danger. Ember did not stop sprinting until she could see the golden-ish brown fae stuck on a stone. There were two other faes, on seemed to be trying to help her and that was the one Ember ran up to.
She made it just in time to hear the gray fae call out words of help. Ember nodded in agreement. "She is right! You need to turn back or the current could wash you away. Find a safe path across the stones, but turn around and go back the way you came." Ember cannot remember if she was ever in a situation like this, but that seemed like the safest and best option. Her heart thundered in her chest, willing the fae to come back to them safely. Looking at the fae, there was a brief recollection. Before Ember could grasp the memory, it was gone like a thief in the night. Ember so badly wanted to climb onto the stones and help the other fae without just words, but she knew that if she did that they could both be killed. She caught sight of another fae just watching and Ember couldn't help but wonder why she wasn't trying to help. The fae shook the thoughts off and focused on the fae in need. Ember's pale gray eyes tried to give a comforting look to the fae, wishing she could help more than just giving words. |

| The right side of her face, devoid of fur and covered in a dark landscape of old and new scars twitched with the arrival of a 3rd fae. A gray wolf, with a scar on her face padded forward, giving help to the fae trapped on the rocks. Was that golden-brown fae so ignorant that she couldn't figure out how to get out of a situation like this? Did she really need the help of 2 other faes? Her angular body, with her bones jutting out, sauntered forward with a grace unexpected from her appearance. She reached the edge of the river, near where it took the plunge down to the pool. Turning her body, she hid the macabre guise of her face from the golden-brown fae, as to not startle her and send her flying down the falls....down....down....down....
"Vacillating in this situation isn't an option. Make haste while you cross the stones, but do not rush. None of us can reach you if you slip." She raised her voice over the falls, and it rang like a bell's pure tolls, harsh and metallic but somehow lovely to hear. Her ears pressed themselves onto the black skull, weighted down with the strength of the water's fast pace. She was close to the edge now, close enough to tumble down into the falls and into the pool below. Her claws dug deep into the slippery bank, the lean muscles that replaced the normal fat of a healthy wolf flexing immensely. "Come on, come on, I can't waste much time waiting for the outcome of this situation. Either you die or you make it over to the faes over there." Her words were cold, like the moon in winter. She had to be cold, to let the fae know of the danger of the circumstances at hand. The comforting encouragement that the other faes gave wouldn't be enough to induce the fae to cross back to safety. |

| In all of her panic, Aveira could scarcely tell that there were three wolves, one of which she already new. She dug her claws into the slippery stone and turned her head towards the two comforting wolves. You will not die, is what she kept telling herself, just turn back to safety. She scanned the water rushing off the edge and twitched. "I..." She said. "I don't know if i can..." Realizing no one could ever be able to hear her, even with super hearing, she tried again. "I'll try!" She yelled. The water shot up from below, hitting her eye just as she took a leap. The slippery rock had laughed at her foot, for before she knew it, her lower half was enveloped entirely in almost freezing water. She clawed the rock frantically, searching for a stable hold. The water blew past her, a white bird soaring the blue skies.
Words were mumbled in her shuddering ear. Weak.... Usable.... Useless... Rage and determination swept through her petite golden body. Aveira's eyes grew a bright yellow flame as she launched herself from the consuming waters to the laughing rocks. "I shall not die!" She yelled, but not loud enough to hear above the rapids. Quickly analyzing an escape route, she leapt. The fae ran over water, dodged the fall of death, and landed on the grass beside the river. With adrenaline rushing through her veins like a man thing, she didn't acknowledge the faes who were watching her, urging her on the whole way. Aveira flopped onto her back, heaving heavy breaths, trying to understand what exactly had just happened. Finally relaxing, she stood and registered the faces. "Ember! Wolf! Thank you!" She barked as she ran to the wolves. "I am dreadfully sorry for causing you all the such trouble." Aveira's excitement subsided and she replaced it with embarrassment. "I should have never have tried to cross." She lowered herself into submission, not daring to look up. She waited for any remark, whether it be of concern or of annoyance. |

| Cerys looked over when another wolf appeared beside her. The shewolf took in the appearance of her packmate briefly before looking back towards the fae stuck on the rocks. She hadn’t noticed the other fae at the base of the falls until she called out, and then she glanced down. Some part of her had a faint sense of relief that there was a wolf down there, should the stranger fall. It would ensure that someone could get to her quickly if she fell. There may not be much they could do for her, but she would have someone near, and that was a small comfort. When the other fae slipped off the rock, Cerys felt her heart seize with worry. A stranger or not, no wolf deserved such a cold death, and she moved farther up the river, searching for any path across that she could get to the struggling fae.
Her steps halted and she looked back when she heard the other howl refusal to die. "Come on! You can do it!" she called back, prancing in place anxiously. "Almost there. Don’t worry. Keep moving!" All of her worry was for naught, she realized with relief as the golden brown fae made it to the other side, and she found herself wagging happily. The young fae relaxed and she began trotting towards her. Stranger or not, she was pleased to see that the other was alive and well. "Don’t be sorry! It was impressive that you saved yourself like that," she remarked. As the other ducked down in submission, she lowered her own front half to paw at her, attempting to be comforting without nuzzling against her. She’d learned not to nuzzle a strange wolf, though she obviously wanted to, just to reassure herself the fae was alright. "Not there, certainly, but you live and learn. Are you alright? Any wounds on you?"

| Ember let out a sigh of relief, the worry leaving her once the golden fae was alright. Her mind kept going back, wondering how the fae knew her name. "No need for apologies. It is very relieving to see that you're alright. How you know my name is puzzling, but that does not matter at the moment. Are you in need of a healer? Is there anything I, or anyone else, could do?" On the outside, the other fae looked alright. There really was no telling of any internal damage until it made itself evident. When she thought about injuries, the scarred one came to mine. She had been rather harsh to golden fae. Ember turned her head to look at the fourth fae of their company. The sight of her bones jutting out and of hairless parts of her body took no effect in Ember. No pity shone in Ember's gaze, knowing that if she were to look that way she wouldn't want pity or sympathy. Calling out Ember spoke. "Are you going to come closer and join us or sit there? You look rather lonely over there, but it is your choice."
Not even waiting for the scarred fae, Ember turned her head back to the other two. She addressed them. "I'm Warrior Ember, it is nice to meet you both. Though, I do believe you already know me some way. Am I correct? There was an accident recently and I lost all of my memory, so I am sorry if you were someone of great importance to me." Ember took a few seconds to shake out her pelt, setting back the fur that had been ruffled by the wind.

| She watched calmly, almost detached as the wolf in question slipped on the rocks. The golden fae scrabbled on the rock desperately trying not to fall into the cold, wet embrace of the river trying to escape the fate of many in who had been in the same situation as her. To be thrown violently into the pools below, smashing on the rocks, one final shriek of agony as her spine broke on the rocks finally splashing into the pool below...oh... The golden eyes watched disappointed that the fae regained her balance. It would have been the most excitement the thin she-wolf had seen all day, actually all of her time in this pack. There was no fun to be had here, barely any fights or political assassinations. Yawning the dark fae was about to turn away from the others, terribly bored and ready to return to her quest of finding herbs when she heard one of the faes speak to her, requesting that she come over.
"Hm. I'll come over. Hopefully I won't terrify the poor dear. " The last two words were laced with a sarcastic poison despite the soft, musical tones which emulated from the mutilated she-wolf. She took her time in coming over, not worrying if the fae was in any serious harm. It was mostly curiousity of how her new pack worked in these situations that drove her to come over, not for the concern of a potentially injured fool wolf.
She arrived to where the 3 faes sat, the golden-brown fae who had stupidly started this whole event, a brown fae with emerald eyes, and a gray fae with a scar across her face. As she sauntered over to them she overheard that the gray fae, called Warrior Ember had lost all her memories. Interesting... Suddenly remembering her "lowly" position as Omega she reluctantly lowered herself to the ground, flattening her ears and tucking in her tail. "I am Omega Erika." Quickly she straightened herself up, disgusted by the formalities. She studied the golden-brown fae, her left eye mimicking the right and staying unblinking. "How did you get into the predicament in the first place?" she hissed in her sing-song voice. |

| Aveira, quickening her pace along the mossy rocks, heard the first fae yell for her to keep moving. The female gave no response as she slashed the water and every rock with her claws. As she landed on the loving land, she had gone into submission. Feeling something by her maw, Aveira shifted to look up at the one pawing her. She gave a slight smile and sat up, embarrassed that she couldn't go across herself. The female turned to the first fae. "Impressive? I was almost killed for a stupid decision. I certainly will learn to not go about something like this without company." Confused from Ember's statement of knowing her name, she looked to her. "Oh, no no. I've no injuries, nothing for you to do either."
Noticing Ember turn and yell to the bottom of the falls, she remembered the third wolf. Aveira looked to the bottom and saw her. She looked almost unhealthy, with her bones jutting out from her sides and her thin black fur. Though she knew all too well that this was not the case. Being brought back by Ember's words, she twisted her head to the fae. "You are correct, Ember." Aveira's eyes widened at her comment. "Why wasn't I told? I mean, I know you don't remember me, but..." She was about to ask thousands of questions, yet she decided not to. "Well, since neither of you know me, my name is Warrior Aveira. Obviously I'm new. I was welcomed not too long ago by you Ember." She stood tall and proud, when she told the two of this.
Movement had caught her eye, she curved her head to see the dark wolf standing just slightly behind Ember. "Hello Erika. I know you think me stupid and useless to this pack, maybe even unneeded. I must learn from my mistakes, must I not?" She listened to the female's uncaring words. "I was always one to explore. I was coming to the falls and had seen something dash into the forest on the other side. Curiosity got the better of me. I no longer have the jump I used to have, neither do I have the bravery. Instead of turning back like that of a smart wolf, I stayed, afraid." She made sure that the Omega knew that she was not embarrassed by her actions. She stood tall, but still she was a little more than two thirds this wolf's size. The smallest, she remembered her brother say, is always the quickest to learn and run. Yet you must always make sure to fight your own battles. She did not back down, not ever. She knew that this wolf did not care for her well being, so she must care for herself.
((Sorry guys, I've been busy with school.)) |

| Curiosity! That was the urge that led her to destroying her face and her life. That stupid part of her mind that goaded her to do idiotic things like approach a human and his dogs. Memories of the attack flooded her mind, destroying her feebly built link with sanity. The baying of dogs as they chased her through the forest, the hot, rancid breath on her tail, the snap of jaws, the blood and her black fur flying through the air....
A snarl entered her throat, vibrating through her body as she shook with anger and the desperate attempt to control her sudden urge to kill....a dog...a wolf...something! She hated her own kin now, for their vainity and contempt for her. Another memory flew by, one of her parents and littermates staring with her in horror before running away. "She's not our daughter! She's an ugly, vile thing, a monster!"
Pacing back and forth like a mad, trapped creature, she suppressed the desire to attack the little wolf who had unintentionally reminded her of her destruction. Finally the rush of memories and ugly rage subsided and she took a deep breath. Her back was turned to the 3 faes and she dwelt in her mind for a few moments, ignoring the others' presence.
((Sorry its short I'm on a tight schedule and I just managed to squeeze this in)) |
