The morning was bright, a hint of sun in the sky and perhaps even a few hints of blue throughout the cloudy grey. While the day seemed warm, and could have almost been spring he knew it was to not be true. Spring was no where near, and while he had hope he knew it would not come any sooner than it had in the past. He felt some disappointment in that, but he tried to not let it get to him. He was feeling good, no not good, great. Things had changed, for the better it seemed. He had grown up, not physically but mentally. While he had felt old at such a young age, he knew now more about life and the nature around him than he did before. He felt more in tune with plants and the earth around him. While his angered outlook on life would probably never change, he knew the things that happened, was for a reason. Shaking his head, clearing his thoughts he found himself walking through ankle deep snow. He had reached the top of a small slope and down below sat the falls. He remembered this area, in the late summer early fall he had caught a young deer here. It wouldn't have survived on its own, but he had run into trouble. What was the faes name? Ariste? Yes, that was it. He had met her here, for the first time, while trying to bring home the fawn. He had not seen the slender fae in quite some time, and he figured the worst had probably happened. Snorting softly, a white cloud forming above him he walked down the slope. The falls were still moving despite how cold it had been. However the water that pooled out from the falls was frozen except for the water near the base of the falls. He walked to the edge of the beach and leaned down looking at his own reflection the clear ice.
He looked bed ragged, gross even. He hated it, winter had really done a number on him. His once glossy coat had lost any sheen and he had grown thin. As if he was not already thin, he looked almost gross in comparison. Turning away from his reflection, bright blue orbs looked up at the falls. How elegant they were, tumbling down as fast as ever into the pool. While one day he feared the worst for the falls, drying up and never reappearing he hoped he would be long gone before any of that happened. Straightening his posture and clearing his throat he glanced around. The falls were partially empty, at least from what he could see. No other wolves were around. This was often a place of solace, but he knew the off chances were a wolf would come trampling by. Slowly laying down, Altair rested his large head on his paws looking at the water silently. Maybe one day, things will look better. He thought to himself, closing his eyes and relaxing.

Arrelys sat down several feet away from the male. During her morning stroll, she happened to spot him where she would normally rest and drink water (when she felt like walking a distance). She had observed him ever since. Nobody was going to keep her from going where she wanted to, but it would be useful to see if the wolf was aggressive or dangerous before going anywhere near. From the looks of it, he seemed to calm and relaxed. Not a bad mood. The cream she wolf stood up and began to walk swiftly over towards the falls and the male. As she advances, she began to relax and move slower. He smelled like Agavos.
"Hello," the she wolf said simply within a very short distance. "I'm Hunter Arrelys. We've never met before."She paused next to him. Her tail began to wag slowly with a little bit of anxiety. Arrelys has had her experiences with male wolves. And they weren't great at all. She even bit a male before she left her birth tribe. He was a total butthole. The she wolf couldn't imagine anyone tolerating him...but her idiot sibling and parents. Arrelys pushed those thoughts away before she started to dose off in her thoughts. While waiting expectantly for an answer, she began to scan him from tail to head. His fur wasn't the best looking, but his signs of being a fighter was unmistakable. Nodding her head discreetly, she looked away to avoid being creepy.

Finally feeling some kind of peace in his normally reckless life, Altair relaxed his whims and closed his iridescent blue eyes. He was tired, but at least he felt some sort of relaxation throughout his body. He was often so tense, and pent up that normally this type of relaxation would hurt him. A stiff cold breeze skirted through the trees and whispered around him, bringing in scents of prey but also a fae. He did not recognize her scent, but she smelled of Agavos. He had begun to tense up as her scent curled around him, but as he smelled his pack he relaxed. He had no intention of fighting today, or arguing for that matter. He knew how sneaky the Erenyx wolves could be, especially with prey near. His thoughts slipped back to a time when it wasn't cold and prey was still plentiful. He thought of Ariste, and how she wanted to please her pack badly enough to attack him. As he heard the fae's footsteps draw near, his thoughts came back to the current situation. He opened his eyes and looked over to her just as she took a seat only a few feet away.
Hearing her speak, he quieted down his own intentions to give the first greeting and nodded to her. "Hello Arrelys, I am Delta Altair. It is good to meet you, it seems I have been lacking lately in meeting new wolves." He said with a slight huff of breath. He looked away from her white beauty back to the falls, but he couldn't help but think that she was beautiful. In many ways she reminded him of wolves in the past, but she seemed softer, more delicate to him. Pushing those thoughts away, he straightened up and turned back to her. "Are you just out wandering the falls, or are you hunting?" He asked, his voice not as sharp as before, softer. "I wouldn't want to interrupt, but It is good to see another one of my pack members." He said, not giving a reason as to why. However, he knew he had become lacking in greeting new members and even speaking to them. He had become introvert, and less talkative then before. He needed to peel back that shell a bit and come forth. Waiting for her answer, he continued to look over her well groomed fur and pretty eyes. He couldn't help but smile, even if it was a small one.

Arrelys froze a little bit when she heard "Delta Altair". Thoughts began flowing in her head rapidly. She didn't whether how much respect did he expect from lower ranking wolves. He wasn't the alpha, but she wasn't going to act as if they had equal ranks. The she wolf thought of her moment with Delta Breeze. How she was content with the respect given. The black wolf had the same rank as the wolf next to her. That must mean that they were equal and required the same level of respect. "Nice to meet you, Delta Altair." The wolf dipped her head and lowered her tone instead of giving him her normal cheery voice.
"I was taking a morning stroll. This is the place I go to drink and relax before I start my duties." Arrelys avoided eye contact as much as possible even though it was tempting. He had nice blue eyes that stood out from the rest of his body besides his frame. The thought of that made her shiver a little. She had never really complimented any wolf inside of her mind, especially male wolves. The she wolf always found them arrogant and narrow-minded. No brain at all. But the wolf next to her was much different. More like the calm, pleasant type who could accompany her any day. She quickly noted in her mind that his voice became softer. The wolf was tempted to look at him again, but she refused until he said it was okay. "It's nice meeting someone new. I'm fairly new here... and I feel like I hold myself back a lot when it comes to approaching others." Arrelys said with little embarrassment. What kind of pack member doesn't make too much time to get to know other wolves in their pack? Or even none at all? She felt his gaze on her, but she couldn't tell why. Perhaps she may or may not want to know.

When he had spoke his rank, he didn't expect much from her. Yes, his rank was still new even to him but he had forgotten it usually meant respect. He turned his gaze to her for she had frozen a bit in step and could not help but feel amused. He had looked away for a few moments, pondering what the fae would do until she spoke to him. He felt an amused smile come to her lips as he looked towards her and nodded his head. "It is a pleasure, Arrelys." He said with a another small smile taking his chance to glance away from the beauty back to the falls. Nodding his head in agreement to her words, he could not help but sigh softly. "It is a nice place to relax, be able to get ready for the day. I do not visit as often as I once had. Many memories reside here." He spoke to her, but had not looked at her as he did. When he did turn to look at her, he noticed her avoid eye contact, and he rose a brow. He knew that he was above her in rank, but he always enjoyed some eye contact. Giving an amused chuckle, he stepped closer to her and took a seat. "No need to avoid eye contact Arrelys. I know you are being respectful, but it is alright." he said quietly to her, giving her a comforting nudge with his nose. "Some may act negative towards you but ya know, it is ok. I am glad you approached, a new wolf should always feel welcome." He said with a smile to her. "Do you like Agavos thus far?" He questioned tilting his head to the side.

Arrelys relaxed a bit when he told her that she didn't need to avoid eye contact. She looked at the delta male with a little relief in her eyes. Avoiding gaze often made her very anxious, which could lead to a bad conversation. She wasn't used to that at all. The she wolf took little breaths of air before she answered his question. "I like it, I really do," she said. "It's great to be accepted into a pack. I've been lonely for too long. I needed to get fresh start. Too much-- Arrelys stopped talking and looked over at Delta Altair. She wondered if she'd spoken too much. From her experience, it wasn't polite to ramble about things without asking someone the same question in return. In her birth pack, she often received reprimands from her parents from it. Many times the situation would end in a fight. Nobody would be able to guess by looking at her. "Do you like it here? I know you have high ranking, but you know. I guess what I'm asking is... Do you feel a strong connection to your pack?"

He could see her physically relax as he told her to be calm, it seemed she had dealt with other high ranks who weren't as kind. It didn't surprise him, most high ranks in other packs could be real butts. He had met quite a few, even his own family. The high ranks he had met in this pack were not as bad, he respected all of them, from the female Delta all the way up to Alpha. They were all different in many ways, but they were all kind in their own ways. He heard her take a breath in and his gaze flicked back to her. He had been watching the falls lost in his own thought, which seemed to be quite normal now a days. Giving her an encouraging smile, he listening to her. He was glad to hear she liked it in Agavos, not every wolf could say the same but he was happy none the less. He waited for her to continue, but she had cut herself off and had stopped. He looked to her and frowned seeing her gaze at him. He tilted his head slightly in confusion, wondering why she had stopped. "Why did you stop? I was enjoying your story." He said trying to encourage her a bit. "I wasn't going to make you stop because you kept talking. That would have been rude." He said quietly to her, but knew it could have been a lost cause. He felt as if some had told her she talked to much and made her quiet down. He flicked his tail at her question silently thinking. "I do feel a strong connection. I do enjoy Agavos, and while I do miss my home somedays I know it isn't worth it. My home is long gone, and without a pack I would not be who I am today. So yes, I do like it here." He paused for a moment before looking to her, "Sometimes it is better to let go of the past than stay with it. Maybe it will help you." He said with a small smile, hoping to show he was not trying to be rude. As he spoke the snow began to fall down in large flakes around them, and the wind picked up a bit. He shivered in the cold and looked to her. "I think it is best if we try to find shelter. I guess a storm blew in while we were talking." He said glancing to the sky seeing it dark and brooding.

Arrelys sighed and looked down at her paws. "I apologize. It's just the way I've been taught over my lifetime. All of the abundant display of superiority were towards me despite my rank in my birth pack. I usually didn't care to listen because of the wolves who gave them to me. They had no right. I learned the hard way from my mother however. I have no clue why it's affecting me now." Not being herself often made conversations awkward. She couldn't stand that--her tendency to end conversations when she felt that way proved it. I need to get out of that, she thought to herself. Just be myself. The cream wolf listen to Altair as he spoke. It was great that he had a strong connection to his current pack. She could tell that he had a strong mind despite being with him for a short time.
However, his comment after that made her turn her head. When he smiled, Arrelys returned the favor. "You are right, Delta Altair," the she wolf said. "If your nose still points toward the past, your future won't point forward. It will be harder to move on from difficult situations." Somehow when she said those words, she felt hypocritical. She apparently didn't use that wisdom before. It made her pelt tingle. Her ears twitched at his last words. Arrelys felt it too despite her thick coat. She stood up and waited for the male wolf to follow suit.
