| Nothing was the same anymore. The sun seemed a little dimmer, the air a little colder, the prey a little dry. Since Alphess Rose's death Teeku hadn't felt right. He didn't want to move, let alone follow through with his warrior duties. He didn't talk with his packmates, he'd become a recluse. His normally bright deep amber eyes holding a now dull look. The life which once shined in them seemed to be snuffed out by the death of his friend. Today was the first day he'd left his den, let alone his pack's territory. Weeks had passed since Rose's death. Yet the ache of her loss still hung in the air, like a thick storm cloud. Weighing down on Teeku, like a rock was tied around him. Despite these feelings, something had pushed Teeku out of his den, out of the territory and beyond to the lands considered neutral by the packs. What it was he didn't know, though he couldn't deny it felt good to stretch his long limbs. He was normally a very active individual, his body unaccustomed to such laziness. Feeling sore, the gangly looking dark brute walked a tad gingerly. His paws carrying him in no particular direction. His deep amber eyes though fixed ahead were lost in thought. His tall slender ears perking as the sound of water crashing against rock, met his audits. Curious the brute picked up his pace in the direction of the noise. His pelt buffeted by a gentle gust of wind, sending an array of smells drifting into his long maw. Taking a deep breath, Teeku paused his eyes closing.

| It had been a few days since her acceptance into Erenyx and she has successfully avoided getting in the way of the higher ranked males. Tulie's step had a bounce in it as she trotted happily through the neutrals. Her nose lifted to the wind, then drifted down to the ground taking in the scents of the forest. It was lovely this time of year, new herbs were sprouting and the buds were growing on the trees. It was a time to rejoice, to have hope. The earthy fae kept going, traveling through the neutral territories with nothing on her mind but a feeling of happiness washed throughout her for no other reason than she was content.
The fae soon heard the roaring of water in the distance and realized that she was a bit thirsty. When she approached the water she spotted a dark colored wolf. She walked up to the wolf, a scent rising to the air telling her it was a male. "Hello there, how are you doing today?" Tulie said with a delighted grin when she realized that this wolf did not smell like her pack. Her tail flashed from side to side happily, as she waited for a response. |

| The sound of rushing water is disturbed by a voice. An unfamiliar call, it was distinctly female. Blinking open his eyes, Teeku looks around to find he was indeed not alone. Padding towards him was a tawny colored fae. Normally he would of been more defensive, especially after the run ins he'd had with Erenyx wolves. But he just couldn't find it in himself to even tense his muscles. No instead he stood where he was, his deep amber eyes looking dully back into a pair of friendly green ones. Her soft voice, followed by a delighted grin forcing him to respond. Clearing his throat Teeku started to speak, his own voice sounding foreign to him. " Greetings..." He murmurs his own tail attempting to wag. He tries to return her smile, though it only comes off as a sad looking grimace. " I've been better..." He admits, his amber eyes roaming over her. His nose twitching as he takes in her scent, recognizing the stench of Erenyx on her fur. If he'd been his normal self Teeku would be alarmed. He'd met many unfriendly Erenyx wolves in his short time living in Helidos. Yet again however he couldn't bring himself to feel much of anything. No instead he slowly sank his thin haunches to the ground, eyes still fixed upon the fae. Wishing he could feel as happy as she seemed. " H-how about yourself...?" He inquires trying hard to remember his manners. He barely even realized how weird it was, having a pleasant conversation with an Erenyx member. Perhaps she's only pretending... he thought. Perhaps she'll try an end me... The scary part was, he wasn't sure he'd even care. |

| The dull look he gave her instantly had a sincere, concerned look come across her features. Her green eyes softened the intensity of her friendliness. He made an attempt to wave his banner and smile but it was as if it was too much of an effort. His beautiful amber eyes had the look a pain in them so she stepped closer. Her maternal nature had her wanting to fix his problem but she couldn't if she didn't know what the cause was. She looked the dark make over, noting that he didn't have any wounds so she crossed that off her mental list.
Showing no fear, she kept getting closer till she was only a lunge away from him. Her voice softened as she spoke, "What's the matter dear? Can I help you? What happened to make you so sad that it breaks my heart?" She inquired, lifting her leg to paw at the air towards him. He looked to sweet to be so sad that it really did cause an ache in her heart. She didn't like to see anyone hurting. |

| Once again, the fae's actions surprised Teeku. Her eyes seemed to soften, her body posture too. She slipped closer to him, so close she could of easily lunged for something vital if she pleased. Yet instead, as he stood there looking dully into her face, the fae let out a soft slew of concerned questions. Teeku blinks his dull gaze, his eyes flickering over hers seeking answers for her behavior. Perhaps she wasn't truly Erenyx, perhaps she was a former member? Surely a fae this kind wouldn't reside within a home full of monsters? He didn't have much time or energy to ponder however. Instead he sighed and looked to his paws. " Not unless you can bring back the dead." He murmurs, his deep amber eyes flickering up from his paws. Watching as a paw batted in his direction, causing his heart to ache. Rose had done the same thing, the exact same thing when they'd met. Her eyes however had shined with mischief, taunting him to chase her.
Huffing the memory away, Teeku flicked his ears against his skull. Everything inside him hurt, like he'd been pummeled by the demon himself. How was it possible to hurt so bad? To feel as if a part of ones soul was taken? I wish you were here... He thought thinking of the snowy white Alphess. Shaking his skull he realized Tulie was still looking at him, that sweet look still gleaming in her eyes. " Sorry..." He mumbles, once more glancing to his paws. " I shouldn't be burdening you with my problems. My name is Teeku, I'm a warrior of Helidos. Who might you be?" He inquires attempting to show interest. His eyes however still looked dull, as he watched her.
( Thank you for your patience! So sorry I made you wait so long!) |

| (OOC: No problem I know you're busy ^-^) "Not unless you can bring back the dead.".. He said with a sigh as he looked to his paws. A concerned whine escaped between her lips and Tulie closed the last little bit of space between them. He had the look of such sad defeat that she leaned her shoulder against his dark one. Giving him her support and a shoulder to cry on if he needed it. "I can't bring back the dead sweetheart, but there is a reason for everything. Even death has its reasons for taking someone close to our hearts. But do not grieve too long, for if you loose your will to live in this life, how can you live in the Other Forest? I believe that the one you hold dear would want you to keep going but to not forget them. To keep them close to your heart so that they will be with you always." She leaned her head against his to comfort him, hoping that she had lifted his burden somewhat so that he could see the light of hope.
He shook his head as if to clear away a memory that gave him great pain and mumbled an apology to her. She nosed the fur of his neck in a playful gesture, trying to make him smile. "Don't worry about it darlin, I don't mind at all. I like to help if I can because it gives me great happiness to see a smile on anyone's face." She stepped away from the dark male prancing backwards as if to entice him for a romp, but she stopped when he introduced himself. "Oh, I'm sorry forgive me, my name is Tulie. I'm an Autay in..,"She hesitated a moment and winced as the last word left her mouth, "Erenyx." there it was said. The dreaded pack name that struck fear and anger into wolves everywhere was her home now. |

| A whine escaped the strange fae's lips. Her body moving in even closer than before, so close her shoulder now leaned up against his, offering support. Turning his head, so he can watch her Teeku listens in silence as she spoke. Her words much like that of a mother, not like his own however. No his mother had never really been the mothering type. A reason? He thought as she continued to speak. He could see no rhyme or reason to his friend's death. She'd stepped innocently upon a snake. One she probably never even saw upon the ground, to unfairly have her life ripped away. Resisting the urge to lunge out with a growl and tell her she was wrong. Teeku forced himself to remain still, to listen. When she finished speaking he bowed his skull. Perhaps she was right... perhaps Rose wouldn't want him to feel this way. She'd want him to be....himself. Happy go lucky Teeku, the Teeku who raced and play bowed. The Teeku who got so nervous when talking with his Alphess he nearly forgot how to speak. Yet how was he suppose to be that Teeku, when his heart was no longer filled with joy but the hollow creak of sadness? How? Swallowing hard, Teeku nods some, blinking and looking away. " She would want that. Rose would." He murmurs truthfully. " But how am I suppose to just forget? How am I suppose to rid myself of these feelings? When my heart feels like its been dug from my chest..." He mumbles his words trailing off as his head shook sadly.
At his apology, Teeku felt a nose press into his fur. A playful nudge, deep down in his heart he felt the vague feeling of playfulness. The one that normally burst forth from him like a puppy. Yet now was dimmed by his sadness. Blinking at her he attempts to wag his skinny tail, it brushes against her flank. " Well I'm sorry I ain't smiling." He admits, wishing dearly he could give the fae what she wanted. Yet the muscles in his face felt incapable of such things. Watching as she sort of pranced from his side, the sunlight dancing in her green eyes. Then she confirmed what he'd been wondering this whole time. She was indeed of Erenyx. Shocked, Teeku cocks his head sideways. " Tell me Tulie, what is a sweet fae like yourself doing in a pack full of... well monsters?" He asks, his dull eyes flickering with the smallest amount of curiosity. " Surely you cannot agree with the way Teren runs things. Being an Autay and all..." He adds having heard the rumors of what Teren did to pups in Erenyx. |

| She knew about heartache, how it felt to loose someone that she cared for, only it was slightly different. In Teeku's case, it had been a dear friend; in Tulie's, it had been her first love that had overlooked her and chose another. But she had chosen to leave that situation so as not to live in the heartache of never having the one she wanted day in an day out.
The darling male sat and listened as she had given her counsel, dark head bowed in silence as she spoke. The roar of the waterfall was like a soothing melody to the fae and she listened to it as she spoke. Then he too spoke, his voice filled with pain though his dull eyes spoke of defeat still. The pain in his voice could be heard more as he asked her questions, too which Tulie sat upon the mossy ground, her bright eyes taking him in before she replied. "Teeku, no one can ever forget those we love, and we shouldn't try to. This Rose meant something to you, yes? Would you really want to forget her? To forget all the memories that you made with her?" Tulie cocked her head at the dark troubled male then answered her question. "No, I don't think you really do. Because then you wouldn't be you. As for the feelings. They never go away and sometimes it's hard to move on. But over time it gets bare able. This is the life you must live. Not spend your life grieving but to live it with happiness that you still breathe. The breath in your lungs is a gift. Do not waste it for you would be doing Rose a disservice to her memory."
Teeku attempted to wag his tail and Tulie was happy. It wasn't much but it was a start. Maybe not today but maybe their next meeting he would not be so sad. He cocked his head with curiosity when she confirmed that she was from Erenyx. She looked down at her paws and with a sigh her shoulders slumped. Then she lifted her head, green eyes meeting dull ones with much sadness in them. Sadness filled her own as she opened her maw to speak once again, to answer the other's inquiry. "I..met a fae at the border. She looked so troubled and I wanted to help her. I still do. She doesn't believe that there is good in her but I know there is. I can feel it." She said with conviction. She had started of hesitantly but grew more sure of herself as she spoke. "No, I do not agree with him. He is a tyrant, a demon who would take pleasure in killing the innocent little lives that came into this world without a choice." Tulie let out a whimper, thinking of the stories she had heard about the pup battles and worriedly looked back in the direction of Erenyx. "I give my life to those pups that have been born. I will not stand to see such atrocities committed. I will protect them and show them there is more to this life than cruelty and bloodshed. There is love, hope and compassion," Tulie looked back at Teeku, her eyes begging him to understand. "They need me Teeku. It's not their fault they were born to a father such as he. They will be better than him and I hope they are not him as they grow older. I pray they do not." Tulie looked down at her paws, sadness finally making more than an appearance upon the earthy fae. Her body trembled with the thought of that terrible Alpha, of his line continuing on and producing another one just like him.

| The tawny fae now sitting at his side, Teeku listened once more. Her words wise beyond her age, filled with emotion, conviction even. Suggesting she too had lost someone near and dear to her heart. Of course she has... He thought. We all have... Feeling embarrassed by his self absorbed behavior Teeku slowly nods his head. " Y-your right." He stammers, his voice soft as he spoke. His deep amber eyes examining his long limbs as he did so. Unable to look the fae in the eyes, afraid he might break down further. " I guess I just don't want to remember right now... cause it hurts. That's not fair though to Rose, or me..." He huffs softly eyes flickering to the shimmering water before them. His ears focusing on the rhythmic pounding of the falls.
Taking a soft breath Teeku relaxes further, enough he is able to look back at Tulie as she answered his question. His dull amber eyes suddenly intent upon hers. Soon his eyes filled with a solemn understanding. She's brave... too brave, he thought imagining what it must be like living amongst such wolves. She may of seen a flicker of good in one or two of them, but Teeku wasn't so sure about the rest. Surely all the good had been snuffed out of Teren ages ago, along with the lives of many. Blinking Teeku's ears flicker back at the whimper which escaped Tulie's lips. Scooting closer, he finds the opportunity to offer back some of the comfort she'd given him. His pelt pressing against hers in a kindly manner as she finished off her speech, her eyes pleading with his. " I understand Tulie." He says softly. He did, he truly did. The need to save such innocent lives from such a beast. Though he wasn't sure he'd be willing to sacrifice himself for such a thing. Not when hope seemed so futile within the borders of Erenyx. When the idea of failing must lurk around every corner. " I just fear your bravery will get you no where. I have seen what that demon is capable of. Witnessed it myself." He shudders at the very thought. " I do hope you'll be careful." He adds gaze serious. " I'd hate to hear you were torn to bits by Teren. The world needs more wolves like you around Tulie." |

| The Erenyx fae sat there with her companion, a Helidos wolf of all wolves. She was not supposed to like him, he was supposed to be her enemy, but the sweet hearted fae could not help herself. This male had done nothing to her only her pack in the war and wasn't that over with? Yes, it was and now things were as settled as they could be between the two packs. Tulie was loyal to her guardian and reserving judgment on the rest of her pack members before she gave her loyalty out freely to the others. Her alpha she feared and respect only his strength but not him, never him could she be loyal to. The pups were a different matter entirely, they could not defend themselves adequately nor hunt for themselves. They were her charges and she would try to teach them to think with their heads and their hearts. She hoped that they wouldn't follow in their father's paw prints and idolize the monster that would spill the blood of innocent life.
The autay looked into the eyes of her new friend and saw the understanding that she desperately needed. "Thank you Teeku, for understanding. Most of my pack members I doubt would be as understanding as you. Although Tundra might, if she really stopped to look inside herself." Tulie said the last in an offpawed remark. Her heart was big and wanted to weep with joy when there wasn't even a flicker of doubt or judgement in the darker male's eyes. He had scooted himself closer to her side, his turn in giving the young fae support and speaking what his eyes were telling her. His voice continued to spill forth giving her his warning about the brute of an alpha running the dark pack and shuddered. She leaned against him comfortably, both giving and receiving support from the other and he paid her a compliment. If she'd had not fur the blood would have risen to color her face a bright pink in embarrassment; as it was she gave a small smile and looked down shyly. "Why like me? I haven't done anything special, I only sat here listening to you because you seemed to need it. It's better to let grief out than to keep it in you know." She said looking down at her paws rather shyly.

| Teeku shrugs his thin shoulders, his eyes blinking down at the fae. " No need to thank me. Your the one who should be thanked. " He finishes, noting her mention of a Tundra. Teeku was sure he'd heard the name before, perhaps even seen the fae. He couldn't place a face to the name however. Shoving the thought aside, he could feel Tulie lean back against him. Drawing in a deep breath, Teeku released it softly. It was the first time in weeks he'd felt something. Instead of being numb with pain, he actually felt connected. It was all thanks to the tawny she-wolf beside him. Tilting his head at her words, Teeku almost chuckles. Instead however it turns in a quiet chuff. " Why? " He repeats, his amber eyes glittering in the reflection of the water. " There ain't many who care enough for wolves of a different pack to stop and help them grieve. Especially not Erenyx wolves. Perhaps I'm wrong about you, but I'd say that makes you a good wolf. I for one, believe it." He finishes, noticing the way she now examined her paws. It nearly made him smile, mostly cause it reminded him of himself.

| The darker male was different from her pack mates, and for that she was greatful. He wasn't cold or standoffish, but kind and welcoming. The waterfall was in constant motion, gravity pulling it ever onward. She looked up at him as he spoke kindly, her tongue snaking out to wet her nose and she parted her jaws in a friendly smile. "Oh but I must thank you Teeku, besides you and possibly Tundra, I haven't made any friends." she said.
His words continued, and her ears laid back while her eyes returned to look at her paws. "You are right. Not many Erenyx Wolves would have stopped. Instead they probably would have taken it as an opportunity to kill you. I am a good wolf, and I hope to stay that way. But I want to continue it within Erenyx. There has to be a way, I just know there is." she said with a ring of hope in her voice, looking up at the male beside her. It had been a while since she had been this close to another wolf and she found that she rather enjoyed the comfort. The Erenyx pack was not one to show their feelings easily but she was grateful that this male was, even if he was from Helidos and grieving. "How are you feeling now Teeku? Are you better? Because if not I am going to shove you in the water." she said with a playful nip at his shoulder. She had to lighten the mood, and the only way she knew how was to play.

| Teeku's chest which had felt so hollow before, lightened as Tulie smiled his way. It felt like his heart had been turned to ice and then something had turned the sun on, causing it to melt. Lowering his skull some, his ears went back and his lips twitched as he attempted to smile. It took a few seconds but finally his lips pulled back to reveal a small gentle smile upon his narrow maw. " It's not everyday I'd claim to be happy about having a friend in Erenyx." He says his voice joking. He nudged her shoulder, then fell silent as she spoke once more. His deep amber eyes less dead looking as he watched her. His gaze however dropping to his own paws as she vowed not to give up on Erenyx. He didn't want to be the one to break her heart. To tell her that her dream of changing Erenyx may never happen. How could he crush the hope he saw in her eyes? He thought. " If there is a way I'm sure you will find it." He remarks, eyes coming back up to look at her. His amber gaze however pleaded with her to be careful. He blinked however at her question and the emotion vanished replaced by a small flicker of light. " Better than I have in a long time..." He admits, dipping his head to her. A look of half surprise creeping onto his face as she threatened to shove him in the water. " You'd have to catch me in order to do that!" He barks, quickly pulling backwards away from the water as she nipped at his shoulder. His gangly form dropping into a playbow. His amber gaze watching her for any sign of movement, ready to pounce away. |
