The female stood at the edge of the border, the scent clearly indicating that a group of wolves inhabited it. Making sure to be a good few wolf lengths away from the scent markings she considered what she had heard of this pack. The female would never admit to being weak, however she was a wolf, and wolves were meant to live in packs, and so maybe she would concede to be....longing. The life of the loner was not for her, but neither was groveling to superiors who had no idea how to run a pack - the female was looking for a future, and this pack; this pack piqued her interest from the moment she had laid eyes upon the territory. The glimpses showed a promising land, but more importantly a pack that defended its borders well and didn't seem to take nonsense very well either. I never planned on being a loner forever anyways she thought evenly, and considered her options. The fearsome reputation of these wolves didn't deter her, it would have made her avoid it like the plague should they act like doe instead of wolves.
Hopefully these wolves wouldn't be a group of geese leading her on a chase for something that couldn't be found here. She wasn't overly hopeful though, reputations were easily distorted. If she was lucky she would meet with a high-ranking wolf in order to assess the real state this pack was in, not that it mattered once she cast her lot in with them. Although she reflected that if a subordinate came it wouldn't be that much of a loss - for her at least, the other wolf might find themselves losing quite a lot of blood but that didn't really matter.
Enough stalling she snarled to herself, face a mask. Standing there she lifted her maw to give a short howl. If they were alert they would hear and come and check what a loner was doing so close to their territory lines - perhaps they might snarl a little; if they were not she woudl wait a short while and then make a decision to seek out some fun within the borders or move on.
