The female had a rather average appearance, but the muscles of a wolf are not unimpressive and she found herself bunching her hindquarters and making a calculated jump as she released her energy. Warm smoke trailing out of her maw as she landed, exhaling. The chunk of ice was stationary but detached from the main piece. She didn't doubt her ability to get back to land safe and sound. It was cold and frigid but it didn't bother her, she lay down and breathed in - oxygen burning her throat and hit her lungs like ice.
Closing her eyes she fixed her paws on the edge so she was laying as comfortably as possible on the frozen water. The water was calm now, lapping gently at the edges of the floe and she could feel it vaguely. Her senses sharpened, it was a pleasant change - there was nothing, water held little smell, and there was only a gentle lull of the waves ricocheting in her ears, eyes closed, and fur warm she enjoyed the numbness. She glanced around, reluctantly opening her eyes, hoping to see no one. Closing her eyes she settled and fell into a light sleep, breathing in the freezing air.
