| Ripples in the earth quaked as frequent passing boom roared over the ground and shook it beneath its feet. It echoed from another's pitter-pattering of four behind them, treading up the steep rocky sides as the larger creature dragged along a fresh meal for their feast. The cub pawed at the bigger one's side and whined for a taste, but she kept moving and huffed down at her child to hush and follow along to her orders. Only then they could rest first, as it had been a long day within the mating season of others to finally catch up on her pile. The lifeless soul hung from her jaws, singing too and fro to the shift of her body to each step the higher she climbed towards their home. Nudging her cub to huddle inside, she dropped the meal and pushed it over to the pile before standing at the cave's mouth. The wind blew strong through her thick brown pelt - only to cause it to make her dark brown eyes squint below as the icy air burned within them. She roared a soft growl to her cub to begin its rest as she quickly looked around her surroundings, pointing her snout high to sniff out for any intruders. Once the coast was clear, the mother bear turned back deeper into her den, lowering her snout over the offspring to clean out its fur and eventually curl around it for more warmth. The cub stretched its tiny paws over her stomach and yawned a small growl as it buried its face into her chest. Her muscles were worn from the early hunting and now it was time for her deep slumber now that the winds were growing stronger. Giving one last look around her, the mother laid her head down upon the cold hard floor and shut her tired eyes to fall asleep to her cubs heart beat. |

| Icy winds swept past the brute, ruffling his coarse pelt and nipping at his nose and face. In front of him was the mountain, a behemoth of cruel granite and ice-ridden ledges. To his right, the calm waters that surrounded the mountain. Above him, the grey skies filled with gathering storm-clouds signalling a potential thunder-storm. Beneath him, the freshly fallen snow and silvers of ice that had formed. And all around, the mist that hung in the air, a persevering force of nature to blind and deceive the foolish. It was a frozen paradise, Tye mused to himself. Tye faltered in his movements, tail swaying slightly behind him as he cast a glance over his shoulder to make sure that his fellow pack-mate and comrade was still behind him. It was an eerie silence that choked the air. The mist only aided it. Once or twice Tye had heard a splash and looked over only to see what looked like an enormous snake the size of a log slithering in and out of view. That was impossible. He had never seen a snake that big before and there were no scales, only skin like that of an eel. Gaze lingering for a moment as if hoping the water would ripple again, he glanced back at the mountain as he caught the scent of freshly killed prey and damp fur. There was their target, the bear. Tye leaped onto the bottom slope of the mountain, paws shuffling through the snow-covered granite. The cave was only a few metres upwards. If luck was on their side the bear would be so deep in hibernation it wouldn't hear them or smell them.
Otherwise, well Tye had seen wolves who had their insides handed to them on a silver platter. Such pleasant times those had been. He made his way up the slope, as silently as he could which for him resembled a ghost. He made barely any noise as well, keeping his foot-falls quiet and steady and tail lifted so it didn't trail the snow. He padded forwards making his way up the slope to the bear's cave. As he neared it he could glimpse the pile of kills along with fruit here and there. Four twitching fluff-balls of brown were nestled in various places around and on top the bear. The cubs. Tye watched them, assessing the danger level as medium. The cubs they could out-run so the only problem was not waking the bear up. |

| Struck with foolishness to such an agreement, the young healer sought to find the food and planned quickly ahead that she would not hesitate to remove it for the sake of her life, let alone his as well. Below little pebbles fell and tumbled off the sides of the steep rocky slopes she followed upon shortly behind the ebony male at tail lengths away. The form of his body glowed miraculously within the fog, providing her fainted ambers to find him with ease - to help guide her way closer to his side to when the path would widen enough. Using the space as an advantage, she made sure to remember this in the case of an attack, eying her way nervously to catch a gasp from her lips to when she saw how far of a drop it was. She was frightened by heights usually, as to what it still could not become identified in her mind as to how she managed to even get into the mountain pass without fainting. Whether it be luck or just the fact she was ridden with daydreams, Cliche could not be the least bit of mad when being with the trusty male near to her side. The guardian like build he possessed and the golden heart behind it that only she could see made her feel at ease, even with the tension rising in the air around them as the winds blew stronger.
"To thee shall you wish me a bit of luck in going into the depths of danger. May you stay guard and keep watch of the vile creature that try to dare in catching me?" She cooed close to his triangular ear - words peacefully blanketed into a silk-like sweet honey for a voice. The fae moved slowly forwards as she laced out a light pink and black tongue to caress the brute's ear before sending a low rumble of delight through from her angelic windpipes until finally craning her neck away sheepishly to peer inside the darkness amongst the den. Two beasts, one larger than the other lay peaceful at rest like the warrior had mentioned, but her eyes did not fall on them for very long as they were smoothed over in the enriching sight of a hearty meal before them. Using the little training she knew at heart and the advantages she withheld, the small fae emerged quietly inside, pawing cautiously at the cold, numbing hard floor with her head and body low to the ground. When the coast was clear, she started to move faster with her pace towards the meal, waiting patiently as she watched the sleeping bears if they would move. Satan's Edge had been told to of removed all traces of scents, and from what she sensed already, is that her natural perfume was thin and more or less over powered by the bears close by. Keeping quiet still, Cliche pawed at the ground, crawling towards the end of the meal to reach out the farthest she could with her neck and widen her jaws around the limb of the animal as best she could do. As she felt the leg become secured between her teeth, her ears flicked up behind her to hear, taking in a slow, nervous breath of air before shutting her eyes to remain utterly still. |

| While they rested in the warmth of their thick pelts and coziness of their granted shelter, the mother of the offspring kept close to her young and provided as much as she could so that the cub would not have to fend for themselves against the bitter winds that blew frequently on through. Her snout rest at the ground, for her body was turned opposite from the food with her back facing it, paws neatly stretched over the mere cub so that it would not be harmed. She was protective over her young, for that was natural in her case, though finding food would come very difficult, and with that she had been working at numerous amounts of time to help the cub grow and develop the reasons to begin hunting for its own survival. Over worked, a low growl exhaled from her large lungs and body, twitching the end of her wet nose in her sleep as her eyes remained clearly shut. Unfortunately, the cub squirmed beneath its mother's heavy arm and pried their self to be free. When it finally was out from underneath her grasp, the cub waddled close as a shadow along the walls crawled closer. A soft whine moved after the image from the small bear, watching as it was caressed into the body of a wolf nearing their food. While studying the creature at a close distance safely near his mother's large head, he moved down to paw at the mother's cheek to awaken, before then moving back around to follow up closely behind the other creature to growl a call to it to back away. Picking itself up on both back feet, he swept curiously his one paw at it to flee, yipping again to what finally began to make his mother's body move as she was annoyed with the cub. |

| Tye turned his head slightly as he heard Cliche gasp, eyes flicking over to her form to check if she had injured herself somehow. Seeing she was unharmed, he turned back to the slumbering beast scanning the stock-pile more carefully. A lot of fresh berries, pine nuts that scattered the cave floor, a half-eaten elk, a young buck with its throat torn out, the carcasses of a dozen birds such as ravens and carrion that were whole and two red foxes, their bodies twisted and necks bent at awkward angles. And near its back paw, a dead doe with part of its back leg dangling by a stretched ligament that was threatening to break. All the blood had either poured out on the kill or all of it had spilled out from the wound on the journey back to the den. Since there was no other wounds, the neck or chest for instance, it would've had to die from blood loss though he pitied the lone predator who had to leave it at the appearance of Sleeping Bear Beauty. Dear old mother bear was not to be challenged after all. Well, unless she was subdued or tired or both which was what he was counting on for this challenge to be successful. It may have seemed like a mad wolf's game but he wasn't foolish enough to gamble a wolf's life if there was no chance of survival. From Cliche's speech and what he had seen from hunting the other prey she was capable provided she didn't panic. His tail flicked once, heart leaping into his throat in surprise when her voice rang through his ear like a siren. It was a short moment, half a minute before Tye's heart settled back down into his chest and he answered with a wry look, "No I'll happily watch on while it tries to maul you to death."
It was a jest of course. He still followed behind her on careful, quiet steps as she slunk forwards stealthily, ears leaning forwards and gaze shifting back and forth from Cliche to the bear and its sleeping cubs. She was being almost too cautious but that was okay for now. As long as the bear wasn't waking up. He almost smiled as she extended her neck as far as it could possibly go finding the sight a mixture of comic cuteness and slightly awkward. It may have been her determination combined with her eagerness, expressed in her movements. They were perfect for the situation but he had never found anyone who would make such a thing look so innocent and pure. Confidence belied her every movement, a quiet kind of confidence which he guessed was born out of being tasked with learning the ways of a healer and warrior. Separate skills but the aforementioned quality was required to face the differing hardships of both. It was admirable and for a fleeting moment he wondered if he had found someone who truly was similar to him with the qualities of a healer and warrior, the former more than the latter. It was an uncommon path though, one that Tye could relate to. Perhaps in time she would show him some tricks of the trade so to speak, jolt back some recipes or tricks he'd forgotten. A sudden movement caught his eye. One of the cubs had wriggled loose from its mother's hold and was ambling towards them. Tye's eyes flicking to the mother as it growled at her to back away. "Drag it out or the cubs are going to wake it up," Tye whispered, taking a few steps back so that the cub would hopefully stop making so much noise and to give Cliche space while keeping an eye on the family of omnivores inside. Tye lowered his head as the bear began to shift, annoyed. The fur on the back of his neck and sides began to rise, bristling slightly. They were much, much faster than the bear. By the time it woke up they would already be vaulting down the sides of the cliff and torpedoing across the earth at break-neck speed. All Cliche had to do was run... |

| Silence engorged the fae's surroundings, her small stance to remain as still and broken as an unwanted statue that had seemed to of stood in the same place for so long that it was able to collect dust. As the mother fidgeted in her spot and her amber hues flickered over the cub that stared at her, Cliche knew there was only one option left in the game. Run. The idea was of only a small back up, but that was the simplest strategy she could constitute for what played before her. With some aid of Tye's words, the young Healer nodded once and quickly submerged lowly on her paws over to the pile and locked her jaws tightly until it snapped in half. Her ears pointed skywards at the large sound, but it was too late. The mother was getting up, and her time was running short. Shaking her head, Cliche picked herself up and carried the limb out from under their noses, using the little agility she had in her tiny body could contain.
As she ran, she payed no attention but the gaping cave's mouth at the end of the tunnel, seeing how Tye's blue hues were used as like the north star was for lost travelers. She used it as a compass, finding herself gliding closer and closer to him for safety and an escape from the bears behind her. In truth, she cared less of the food and more of her survival, but the adrenaline rush she was given was too much to deny in not laughing over. "Help me get this out of here!" She asked in a hushed tone as she saw him still standing there alone. The weight of the prize was heavy enough not to hold her down, but the more the merrier in aiding her to pick it up would make them gradually keep up with each other when sprinting back down the mountain side. Glancing back at the bears, Cliche trembled in a slight rush of fear, then averted her soft amber gaze to Tye with widened eyes, "Go, go! We need to get out of here before they get us!" She said as she neared closer until finally standing at the entrance's opening. Heaving the kill up over and tighter between her jaws, she nudged him to move, eying back at the creature that stumbled to it's feet in the attempt of trying to get a feel of their surroundings now that something had been stolen. |

| Tye's eyes widened slightly as the sound of bone breaking shattered the air. The barks of the cubs grew louder. The other cubs, roused, started to snort and whine. Luckily Cliche was already running. The awake cub was already ambling after her on unsteady, clumsy legs. He closed the gap between them in two quick strides, taking part of her kill in his jaws and helped haul it towards the entrance. "Great idea picking a kill that was hard to carry by yourself," Tye said in a muffled voice. The awake cub swiped at Tye's leg, its barks reverberating around the cave walls in a cacophony. Tye moved his leg swiftly, avoiding and lashed out with his foreleg knocking the bear cub over and sending it rolling across the floor into one of its siblings. They were already at the mouth of the cave. Cliche's words galvanized him. He ripped off a portion the kill she'd taken, making the load significantly lighter and at her nudge he began to run, turning once he was outside to look for her. She was right behind him, not even a fur's length away from him. A roar split the air, filling the surroundings. Dear old Mother Bear had woken up. Tye started to bark at it. They were sharp, threatening noises which he wanted to draw the attention from the bear to him. The bark tapered into dangerous growls as the bear's hulking form emerged. His hackles raised, fur rising. His ears folded and so did his lips to reveal gleaming ivory fangs. Fear would've been a reasonable reaction but Tye felt a thrill of excitement, a shot of adrenaline that coursed through his veins like liquid silver. Cliche was safe for the moment and that was all that mattered. The mission? Imminent threat approaching which was expected. No injuries. Out of reach of the enemy? Check. They were looking good so far. |

| Her eyes looked over his heroic yet demon-like stance that he displayed before the foul beast that dare try to catch them. The bear was at most three times their height when on all fours, and she did not even want to know how much it weight with one sweep of it's deathly long sharp claws to the small face of a wolf. Cliche did not place her bets on who's to win this challenge, all that mattered now was getting the Hell out of there before it was too late. Tye seemed busy, but that was not needed. Though she knew he was doing it to save her hide from being snatched away, now they needed a way out. An escape plan. The healer could not place at the dominant stance the warrior withheld, as she was but a lowly mender and not a fighter, but a lover over all. Clearing her throat, she pinched the kill between her jaws as tight as she could and drug it behind Tye for a safe haven before the bear could fight back. She looked down into the dark depths of the rocky mountain sides, keeping a clear mind to stay relaxed as the fear of being so high up soon gradually pulsed through her body to the tip of breaking point. This was not a time for a coward to rise, not at all, not ever. Growling over the male's side, she turned around and started heading to safer ground, hopping down the rocks till she found a steadier place to settle for a moment and peer back up at the warrior to see if he was making any progress. As much as she grunted to haul the meat after her, her body was wearing thin of energy and it won't be long before the bear would get the advantage. She could hear the vile growls and see the spit foam around it's jaws as it snapped closer to the obsidian wolf, barking forwards the command that she thought was to get away, "Tye!" she cried over her shoulder, barking loud at him to grab his attention to flee. |

| Tye continued to bark, tail lifting into the air as the bear let out another roar, this one filled with rage. As Cliche dragged her prize behind him he moved forwards a little intending to shield her from the bear with his body. It shifted, irritated and took a wild swipe at his face with a tree trunk-sized leg. Ducking underneath it Tye raced forwards and latched his jaws around the bear's other leg with a snarl, fangs sinking into flesh and muscle. Mama Bear's roar of pain rattled his bones, deafening all other noise. Cliche had made her move by then and he was glad for it. He shook the bear's leg, using his whole body to tug it backwards to throw it off balance. A massive paw hurtled towards him. Tye yelped as the bear's claws raked his side, letting go and skidded across the ice-ridden slope. He got up slowly, wincing. The claws had cut deep. Pain throbbed through his now bruised rib. Crimson red trickled from the three marks. He didn't let up and barked again, showing blood-stained teeth. It came closer, blood-lust in its black eyes. Blood trickled down its leg pooling onto the ground. Tye dodged another swing, feeling its claws skim his ears. He bolted further away snapping at the bear's legs as he did to make it follow him. A burst of pain shot through his side. It was to be expected. He pivoted, close to the edge of the ledge and cast a brief glance for Cliche as she signaled for him to run. She was ready. The bear had reared up onto its hind legs giving Tye a narrow opening to move around it to get back to Cliche. The other option? Scale the mountainside using the ledges, rocks and narrow protrusions freestyle. He opted that the other option as it would give Cliche time to get down. He barked again drawing the bear as close to the edge as possible and when it slashed at him ferociously, he turned around ducking at the same time and leaped from the ledge onto the steep slope below through the mist making his way down. |
