| Hearing that his love was no longer going to be a member of Helidos, Kenai found himself going through a deep depression. He had not seen his pups, nor did he know where they were. He did not know whereto find Aurora, no matter how hard he had tried. In the end, he finally found himself giving up. She was gone and there was nothing else left for him, except for his pack. Feeling the loss of a loved one, forced the brute to run from his pack clearing and make his way to the only place he felt truly safe and free from hurt or despair. It was a favored place of his, his favorite in all of the world. It was in Eden's Hollow he found peace. It was here he and Aurora had shared time together, mated and grew to love one another stronger than any bond he had ever felt before. Perhaps she still loved him, but perhaps not. Kenai could not grasp the idea she no longer loved him, but in the end, he would die thinking she did. In his time of aloneness, he heard a small voice after him. He turned to find the Apprentice, son of Azul, was behind him. In their moments together, they spoke of the pack and of other few things. Kenai had been a mentor to the pup, a best friend to his father, and a great wolf to have around the others. But when their conversation took a turn for the worse, Lucas found himself running from the Elite. Kenai chased after him, worried for his safety out in the woods alone. Though the pup was a year of age now, it would not stop him from finding danger, or worse, death. Just as his eyes could see the young pup, a large mass got between them, heading towards the younger wolf. Kenai howled to get the bear's attention, but it was set on the prize before it. Kenai lunged to bite the elbow of the massive beast, being flung back and forth until he could no longer hang on. He closed his eyes as his body rocked against a boulder. The pup raced to get away, feeling the drool of the bear upon his back. The pup took little damage from the creature, while Kenai took most of the force. He jumped in front of the pup as the bear swung its mighty paw. Claws dug into his flesh and rattled his bones. Blood smeared across tree trunks and rocks, grasses and weeds. Lucas ran for his life as he watched the beast continue his attacks on the helpless wolf. Lucas ran for home, running straight to his father, telling him the news. Though Lucas did suffer a small wound, Azul seemed to be more concerned for Kenai. This conference between father and son would be their last under one pack. Lucas was angered that his father cared more for the Elite, than for his own son's life. He raced from the lands, while Azul discovered the remains of Kenai's mangled body. Azul lifted his chin to the sky and sung the song of sadness. The Elite of Helidos was no more.
