No longer was he a mere Healer. He had been waiting with a patience extraordinarily rare of him for the day that his sovereign realize he was above average. Now, he could say with much the smugness that would be expected of him, that the other wolves in his field of work were lesser than he. That, among other things, had been something that he, himself, had always known and believed to be true. The only difference was that now the rest of them could know it, too! He mused the likelihood behind him slipping away and having a chance to celebrate. To rejoice! There was something that he had always enjoyed doing - something he found beneficial to his work; to the understanding of the body and its function - but sadly he had been so horribly deprived of it lately, what with how busy the pack had been with its alteration in leadership. It was becoming harder and harder to get away from the pack lands as frequently as he would have liked. The Alpha would take notice of his absence - he did not have the kind of presence that was easily forgotten, after all - and then how would he justify his reasoning for always being away?

Oh, my sincerest apologies, thy noble greatness . . . I have been ever so invested in an affair with a beloved Helidos she-wolf. So utterly foolish and naive is she.

Of course, there was no real affair. Not truly. It was only a matter of time, though. He so desperately wondered when he was alone what had happened to the wolf that found joy in snapping hearts like the delicate twigs they were. He had missed his chance to be a fathe - ha! He could hardly even bear the thought. If he happened to mess up so royally, he would leave his most dreary regrets behind as he left the to-be mother alone, wondering miserably how she had been so laughable as to think he would care enough to stick around and be a parent. Some wolves, more than others, were so easily played. He supposed, however, that he would not want it any other way, for what would be the fun in that?

On his journey, he had caught himself a prized specimen: a pudgy rabbit. To think he was not also a Hunter, and a Warrior, and a Healer all at once. Clearly his capabilities surpassed that of a single title, but of course, he was not complaining; there was plenty to enjoy about being a Lead Healer, for her rather liked how the unenlightened were forced to come to him with their sore bodies and broken limbs for assistance whenever they screwed themselves up. He could fix them right up, quick, brand new, and then he would remember his success later on, should ever he need a favour in return. For the time being, however, none of the mattered, for no sickly wolf resided inside of his quarters back in Erenyx. He enjoyed having his space, because it left an opening for him to partake in a hobby of his. He would not be expected back in Erenyx until nightfall if he could manage. He could find himself a cozy place to curl up - perhaps under one of the brilliantly hued trees in this magnificent place! - and then he could get to … work.

Settling down, his large body a likely threat to anyone who dared to disturb him, he began tearing into the flesh of the rabbit. What was strange, however, peculiar even, was that he did not consume any of it as a meal. Any onlooker would think that he was out of his mind, wasting such a satisfying opportunity to fill his stomach. But his reasoning behind this catch had not been to sit down and have a snack, no. He was very purposefully, very much so, dissecting. The smell of the animal’s blood would soon enough be tainting the air, and how it smelled of pretty flowers and decorative leaves. There was now a gaping hole in the side of the rabbit’s body, and he was peering inside, a fascinated glint in his cerulean eyes, in search of organs to satisfy his curiosity. He was a Healer of oddities, that much was true. He would never be happy to simply heal the body. He liked to understand the body both on the outside, and on the inside, too. It was pitiful that he could not find the corpse of an actual wolf to study, but until that wondrous day, he could settle for rabbits and other creatures that his kind preyed upon.

The unlucky visitor that would come to pass him by was in for a most dreadful shock! His mentality was questionable - surely there was something off in his head - but he cared not for the opinion of someone he would not claim to consider significant. He did what he did for scientific purposes. He was pursuing a greater, broader understanding than any other Healer in his work. They would thank him for his efforts later on. Of this, he was certain, for why not bow before him and call him the outstanding Healer that he was?
