The grey she-wolf ambled between bare trees, the only the sounds were of her breath billowing around her and the quiet crunch of snow beneath her paws. The north wind was constantly swirling around with glee, breathing frost onto all it touched. The forest shuddered and groaned at the cold. Strong gusts tossed snow and ice into the chilled air, as if trying to imitate a blizzard. The large fae wasn't really bothered by this weather, for she was built to withstand the harsh cold of the north. Breeze kept her dark ears perked as she listened for any approaching dangers. There were rumors of a new pack in these lands. The Grey Wolf narrowed her golden eyes against the wind and scanned the barren landscape. Only the pale tree trunks and tangle of brush branches were visible. The scents had been faint before, but gradually strengthened despite the wind and cold. Come on! Where are you all? Breeze wondered. She paused, a tall dark figure amid the pale grey's and whites of her surroundings. Those scents could have drifted on the wind from some distant place. Then again, maybe she really was trekking close to the border of this strange pack.

A low growl rumbled in her chest. I will find these wolves...or at least their border! The large fae bounded forward, her gait now a slow lope. All around her, snow glittered under the light of the winter sun. Suddenly the scents were overpowering. Breeze quickly halted her advance and let the scents wash over her. There, a few paces away, was the border, clearly scent marked. It wasn't subtle at all, and a wolf would have to be truly foolish to miss it from this distance. Breeze tilted her head up with a triumphant pride glittering within her golden orbs. The grey female took a moment to look around and check for nearby wolves before she settled a respectful distance from the scent markers. Well I sure won't be waiting around all day for some patrol! Breeze raised her muzzle and let her voice ring forth. It was a call, not demanding, but one that simply let others know of her presence. The sound was cheerful, almost musical. Most would be surprised to hear such a noise flow from the maw of a creature as strong and large as Breeze. The she-wolf continued to gaze about, searching for any pack wolves who might answer her greeting. She kept her posture respectful and humble, but not submissive. Breeze would hold her head leveled to a neutral height, with her tail curled around her paws until there was a reason to be submissive. The fae had confidence, and she wasn't afraid to show it.

The winds had picked up and the snow was coming down harder than it ever had before. Desmond had watched it for a mile, standing in the middle of his home as it dropped from the heavenly skies. His green eyes followed a few different globs as they made their way down. As it clung to his coat, he could feel the small mounds weighing down on his form slightly. It didn't bother him enough to shake it off, so he allowed the snow to stay, for now. He moved about the terrain but kept his eyes forward. His ears rested gently against his scalp. Each step in the snow left an imprint in the white sheet of powder. He moved effortlessly, hulking his weight around as he listened to his surroundings. When the howl came through the air, his eyes turned up to the borders. His ears now sat at their highest position. He turned on the back of his pads, heading for the borders. As he approached, he looked down to the wolf before him. His tail did not curl above his spine. He still was not getting used to this Alpha thing. "Welcome to Agavos, these are my lands. How can I help you?"

Breeze let her gaze sweep around, unsure of where a wolf may appear from. The white powder fell more thickly, which reduced visibility significantly. The grey female shook out her fur to dislodge the layer of flakes which had settled onto her pelt. The weight was simply unpleasant. Her ears perked up at the soft crunch of paws on the cold snow. Golden eyes raked over the woods, searching for the source of the sound. Ah, there was the wolf. He was a large brute, that much was obvious. The creamy brown male approached with confidence, head held high. Breeze stood with a respectful dip of her head, then met his gaze only for a moment. The stranger's voice rang about the forest, deep and calm. Breeze flicked her ears back slightly. Agavos...I like it. His lands? Oh, this must be the Alpha!

The dusky grey female glanced up at him for a quick moment again, then fixed her eyes on his powerful shoulders. She nodded again respectfully, golden gaze glimmering with hope and humble confidence. "Greetings sir, my name is Breeze. I was wondering if I could join your pack. I am looking for a place to call home. I offer my services and my skills." Breeze explained. It was crucial that she didn't offend this wolf, yet she didn't want to seem weak or overly submissive. No, she was not an Omega. Regardless, Breeze did hold her tail submissively lower than the brute's own tail. Energy and hope coursed through the grey fae's veins as she waited for the Alpha to speak again.

"Breeze... like the wind?" he asked with a smirk spread across his maw. His green eyes stared to the wolf before him. What an interesting name. Surely there must be some kind of story behind it. Perhaps she had been a very gassy pup in her litter and her mother made a joke of it, calling her "Breeze" from the amount of air which flew from beneath her tail. The thought of this forced the wolf to bury down his chuckle deep into his throat. It was not nice, after all, to laugh at one for a joke he was thinking of within his own mind. It was a weird place in there, and it was this moment he was glad others could not listen in to his thoughts or anything like that. She spoke of offering her skills and all that, but she was very vague with exactly what those were. Was she a healer? Was she a hunter? Was she excellent in fighting? These were things he would have to know. He would find the perfect place for her within his pack, for they needed all the numbers they could gain in these times. Starting out was never easy, but the King did not fret on such matters. For he had the best Elite by his side. He knew the two of them would overcome any obstacles and in time, the pack would flourish. "So, tell me strange Breeze, what are these skills you offer to me and my pack?"

The grey female let one ear swivel forward as the Alpha spoke. Her expression did not give away the annoyance which simmered beneath her pelt as the large grey brute smirked. Breeze met his brilliant green gaze for a moment to see his amusement. "Yes, like the wind that wanders through the trees. I was quite an energetic and adventurous young pup. Always moving and exploring. So my mother named me Breeze." The large fae explained, then fixed her golden orbs on the brute's shoulders. Of course, the warrior knew she had not been specific with her skills. Why waste your breathe on details if they won't accept at all? That was exactly why the grey she-wolf had waited for the male to ask. Breeze smiled slightly, mulling over her options on presenting her skills. Sure, she knew how to hunt, and that was important to add, but she had training in fighting too...and she certainly wasn't built to be super fast. (Breezes aren't really fast...they go where they feel like it, just sort of moving around.) Once she thought it over, the grey cloaked fae looked the noble Alpha in the eye.

"Well sir, I can hunt sufficiently alone, with a group, and on many types of terrain. I have been trained to fight, although I hope I can start practicing again before I actually need to fight. I have been trained to track prey and other wolves, but I am not really built for speed...so hunting fleet footed prey isn't easy for me." Breeze paused to let him process her words. "Like I said, I was taught how to fight. Specifically in all sorts of situations. On slopes and flat ground, in close quarters and in large spaces, and against wolves of all sizes. I'm just a bit rusty since I left my birth pack. Put me in whatever rank you think is best. I will be happy to give you my unwavering loyalty." The large she-wolf said with a low bow of her head. She hoped it was detailed enough to satisfy this regal wolf. He was the one calling the shots here.

All the other wolves he had accepted into his lands, none of them had stared him in the eyes. It was a show of defiance, even if she did not mean it to be. Immediately Desmond could feel the fur along his spine rising in a straight line. His tail rose straight into the air, showing that he was King here. His green eyes glared at her with a hatred he had shown nobody before. His snarl escaped from clenched jaws and his jowls raised to show the blood-stained canines he held in his maw. As the blackened gums were exposed to the world to see, he growled louder than his initial snarl. "Have you never been in a pack before? Have you never served under the protection of an Alpha? You have come to the wrong pack if you think you can stare me in the eyes and speak to me as if we are equals. We are not equals. I come from a history of pain and torture. I have overcome all odds and I am the wolf on top. You are a loner who says you know how to fight and hunt and all the stuff every Alpha would want to hear. But let me tell you something here... I may have been relaxed upon first meeting you, but I will not allow any wolf to treat me in such a manner. So this can go one of two ways. Either you do more than bow to me, and show me true submission - accepting the laws I have set in place. Or two that we test exactly what kind of wolf you are. But I can promise you that only one of us will leave from this border, and it shall be me. That is not a threat, it's a promise." He did not budge, he did not even blink. He squared up to the female and hoped she would choose the right option, though the Rogue within him wished for the bloodier of the options. He would not allow any wolf to show him disrespect and walk away unharmed for it.

As soon as the slightest hint of anger showed on the brute's face, the grey she-wolf flattened herself on the snow, ears pressed against her skull and eyes moving down to her own paws. Of course she had forgotten her place. A small whine escaped her muzzle as he snarled at her. Horrified at her own mistake, she rolled onto her back to show her belly, although all her instincts told her not to. "So sorry! I mean no disrespect, but I am not used to such a life as a loner sir. Indeed, I grew up in a pack. In fact, I was born among high ranks and trained by my pack's Beta, so I'm not used to this submission sir. They were attacked...and overrun. I've been searching for a pack to join since then." The large female said. She did not move, except to make herself as small as possible. She flinched mentally as his words continued to echo within her mind. You fool! You just totally forgot how to act submissive! In front of an Alpha!!!! Oh you really messed that one up. The savage thoughts continued to swirl through her head as she continued, golden gaze focused on her belly fur.

"I am far from your equal, Alpha. I'm most ashamed to have offended you sir. High ranks within my pack weren't quite so formal with each other, so I'm truly a bit out of practice with formality....I am so so sorry. I certainly would never want to challenge you, although now I realize that my eye contact gave you that impression. I don't mean to disrespect you sir!" With that last bit, Breeze snapped her jaws shut, simply waiting for his reaction. It wouldn't surprise her if he decided to chase her away. The grey wolf hung her head, absolutely disappointed with herself. It was true, she wasn't used to being the submissive wolf. She hadn't had such a need for such formal actions in a long time. She had always attended meetings between the Alphas and Betas because of her training, so they had all become used to each other. She needed to remember that time was over. Those wolves are dead, and you are stripped of everything you had. This is totally different, so you can't approach it the way you normally would. Breeze told herself angrily.
