Breeze stalked through the lands, her form nothing but a shadow, hidden by the vegetation and darkness of the forest. She had been too restless to stay in the pack clearing since her dreams were haunted by that damn bear. The Elite paused for a moment to observe the woods around her, taking in the scents and sounds. Amber eyes glinted in the moonlight as they raked over the land, as if daring the beast to show itself. An owl called from somewhere high up in the trees. Satisfied with the quiet peace of the night, she continued towards the borders. It had become her habit to patrol to take her mind off of things. The fae had nearly gotten to the eastern edge of the border when a howl reached her ears. Honestly, she wasn’t very surprised to hear it this late at night. The wolf might have wanted to avoid being out in about during the day since the heat was so severe this summer. Quickly turning towards the origin of the call, the she-wolf trotted towards the noise with tail raised. Her gaze scanned her surroundings meticulously as she drew closer, her nose working to sift through the scent and find the canid who had summoned her. Between the trees, she soon spotted silvery grey male. His scent was indeed that of a vagabond, not of a pack wolf. She stood before him, not showing any hostility, her lips curved only slightly into a smile. “Greetings stranger. These are the lands of Agavos. I’m Breeze, an Elite of this pack. What brings you to our border at this late hour?”

The grey female’s tail remained raised dominantly, waiting expectantly for some form of submission. The stranger seemed slightly reluctant to do so, but he was respectful and submitted enough to give the Elite satisfaction. She recalled when she had been accepted at this same border, and how Desmond had expected submission. The brute had given a decent reaction and didn’t seem disrespectful, which was good. Her posture became slightly less formal, relaxing slightly as her amber gaze swept over his form. The male was fit and muscular with the build of a warrior. His words caused her eyes to focus sharply on his face once more. After a moment, her lips curled slightly into a smirk. Retire, eh? She thought. The fae would have laughed out loud. It was a poor choice of words, and she would not allow this brute acceptance if he wanted to “retire" like some ancient Elder. Our Beta is getting up there in age and yet she is still kicking! Breeze thought. Her golden amber orbs glimmered with . “Well Cael, the word retire is a poorly chosen term to use. If you join Agavos, you will be expected to pull your own weight and help contribute to the pack. The wolves here won't just let you slack off, so if that’s is what you want then I suggest you leave. Each and every wolf has something to contribute here in Agavos. We value respect, loyalty, and hard work.” She said. Perhaps he would leave after her blunt response, or maybe it was what he wanted to hear. The Elite paused only for a moment to judge his response. “Now, tell me a little bit about yourself and what skills you have.”

The brute reminded her of Desoto for some reason… perhaps it was his lack of visible emotion. He didn’t give Breeze any attitude, although she wouldn’t be surprised if her response irked or upset him. The fae nodded as he continued to speak. Her eyes searched for any signs of dishonesty, although she would find none. It was simply a standard procedure and she showed no hostility. Cael seemed to speak the truth, just as the female had hoped. Once he finished speaking, the Elite relaxed and dropped most of her formality, yet kept her confidence. The grey she-wolf gave an approving nod and a more friendly smile. “That’s alright, I just wanted to make sure you didn’t have the wrong impression of this pack.” She explained calmly. There was no need to add any more formal questions since he had said he would pledge his loyalty to Desmond and the rest of Agavos. “Welcome to Agavos, Warrior Cael. I trust that you’re honest and that you understand that your full loyalty means that you are willing to protect our pack, even at the cost of your life. If you wish to return to the pack clearing, then follow me. You can also explore the pack lands and find your own way to the clearing... the choice is up to you.” She said with a small beckoning flick of her tail. With that, Breeze turned and trotted deeper into Agavos territory, her tail swaying gently behind her.
