PostSubject: May These Noises Startle Your Sleep [Delta Braelyn] May These Noises Startle Your Sleep [Delta Braelyn] Icon_minitimeAugust 4th 2015, 16:35

Once again the time was night, only now it was much harsher. Winds blew furiously, and fog decreased his visibility. Large black rocks rose from above the fog that covered part of them and the waters beneath. This place was dangerous, he wouldn't be surprised if a few wolves had died here. As he stepped into the water, his steps slow and cautious as he moved, he looked around him more. No other wolves seemed to be here, just him and the howling wind. Clouds blocked out some of the moons light, but left enough so that there was enough light to see the ground. But everything now was mostly shadows, and here there was only the grey and blacks of the rocks and mist, along with a tint of blue from the water. Even he himself was black in color, he fit almost perfectly here and at this time. The waters were cold, more so than the air that ruffled his pelt. And as he moved further and further out into the waters, the more his body became touched by it, and soon he came to where the water was just barely touching his underbelly, and that was where he stopped. What was he doing here? Why was he again out in the middle of the night, not to mention in such a dangerous place? He hadn't been able to sleep again, but somehow, for the third time, he found himself in the Neutral lands. What brought him here so often? Was he aching for connections to those of different lands? Or was he just so uncomfortable in his own home that he needed to get away? Desoto had never found himself to be desperate for attention, but lately he had become much more social that he would have ever thought he might be. These lands were changing him, how he acted and the way he thought. Already he had gained a high title, he hadn't even been in Agavos for that long. Well, maybe perhaps he had, but he never thought that he would jump right away from Warrior to Delta. But alas it had and here he stood, alone in an unknown area.

Looking towards the darkened sky he found only a sliver of light, and that was the moon. Shining brightly in order to be seen against the clouds that tried to hide its beauty, and he realized that was how life was. When something stood out, others try to hide it, change it. Make it seem that it is only an illusion or make it so that it fits in. And he guessed that is how it was for rogues. Their abnormal behavior was turned away and shamed upon because it was different. And he wondered what it might feel like to be like them. Left to fend for himself without a choice, and made to think that he could never have another home. It would be difficult, lonely, and perhaps depressing. But they were a lone for a reason, and that was something that he could not deny. Letting out a sigh, its sound unheard due to the winds, he lowered his head. Eyelids closing as they hid his golden orbs and the Delta continued to stand there. The waters splashing and swirling against his legs and chest with every surge they made in order to reach the shore. He had done many things yet nothing recently. He had yet to train the pack mates, but slowly an idea was coming into his mind. He had accepted a member, and how many that Breeze had accepted was unknown to him. He'd have to ask her how things were going, but the thing was was that he didn't like her very much. She was a fine wolf, but he would prefer to keep contact with her as minimal as possible. That was just how the brute was, she really didn't strike him as someone he could grow very close with. But she was his co-delta, and together they were supposed to train the others and make choices for Agavos. Avoiding her completely was impossible.

Opening his eyes, his lids peeling back to once again reveal the brightness that lay behind it, he gazed upon a boulder. It seemed to catch the light of the moon perfectly, as the light came straight down onto it through a break in the clouds. And as he stood there looking at it, the more he wanted to stand upon it, so he did. Bending his legs slightly he leapt out of the water, particles coming with him as he went through the air before they fell back down, and landed on a closer smaller rock. The surface was rough on his pads, not completely smooth it had bumps and ridges that both made his grip better and worse. But he didn't stay there for long, instead he moved forward, leaping onto another rock before he made it to his destination. The moonlight now falling onto him as he stood atop the hunk of earth. He stood rather spaced out, almost as if he had just stopped walking. His right leg stood stretched out to the front as his left stood a little back, his hinds stood accordingly to the limbs that the followed; left back and right forward. His head was once again tilted back up, looking towards the sky as his tail flicked up and then down. The fog now lay below him, and the waters seemed almost nonexistent, but he knew that they were there. Like the clouds the fog would hide the water, and it would continue to do so. For how long was unknown, just like most things. But that was alright, it was just the way it was, and what was it to him if the fog did what he liked? After all, for the most part the animals did what the wanted, including himself. If he wanted to be here and so did the fog then so be it, there wasn't anything he could do that would clear it away. Moving his eyes once again away from the sky he gazed down at the water, his appearance unknown to him now as the wind continued to displace his fur.

PostSubject: Re: May These Noises Startle Your Sleep [Delta Braelyn] May These Noises Startle Your Sleep [Delta Braelyn] Icon_minitimeAugust 4th 2015, 23:41

(ooc- Des, you're back! ^^ )

A light smile danced across the fae's lips, her bright green eyes full of wonder as she glanced around to survey the surrounding area. How exciting! She would pipe, the words only in her mind as she moved and motioned around the bushes of the plains. Things were good, and for the most part the fae was finally happy after all her time of misery and sorrow. It was a foreign emotion, one that swept and overwhelmed her figure yet the fae didn't care. She was happy. Something she thought would never happen after all that had happened. Today would be good, she could feel it. "Hurry up!" A voice called out, its anger and frustration burning her auds as they pricked up to listen and with her eyes following to the source, Braelyn would pick up her speed and attempt to catch up. Banner wagging behind her, she would run as fast as she could to close the distance and join her brother's as they moved further ahead. Staggering as she tripped a couple of times, the fae would catch her footing just in time before she could fall and even though she never did hit the ground, laughter and mocking comments would erupt into the air. "Look at you. Can barely run!" Deacon would jeer, his gaze targeting her own as he would turn and watch.

"I can't believe mother even let you co-" Not even finishing his sentence, her older brother Rukelt would interrupt. "Shut up! She's not even coming." Confused, the fae would tilt her head, anger fueling in her chest but deciding not to recognize its familiar feeling she would address both males. "Mother said I could." "Yeah, she says a lot. But a bitch like you would ruin this, so just go and sit over there and learn." Not even giving her a chance to speak once more, the two brothers moved and rushed into the grasslands, leaving Braelyn by herself. Green orbs narrowed into slits, she would let an abrupt snarl seep from her mouth, wishing to place her jaws around both of their necks. Everything joyful was once again torn down and banner no longer flared high in bliss, it would hang and flicker in despair. How could they? Again! Swallowing the built up growl back down her throat, Braelyn would turn on her heals and let her legs motion her figure towards a dense thicket of vegetation. Lowering her haunches to sit and rest, she would be covered for the most part by the dead flora and green eyes scanning the land, her orbs gazed in anger would target on Rukelt.

Oh how much she wished to shove his tongue down his own throat, the blood seeping out of his neck in large amounts as her claws would dig inside and pull out the cord he used to speak. Everything about him and Deacon made her furious and for once she had wished today would be different. What an idiot she had been. Watching the two stalk towards a small herd further out, Braelyn would watch. She would get her revenge.

The scene of her old life would burn away, like a photograph underneath a flame and slowly the Delta was brought back into reality, the familiar scenery calming her nerves as the memory would leave her heart beating rapidly for her mind knew what would happen next. Unfortunately, she would wake before it could torment the fae any more with the more than graphic play. As if it had happened only hours ago. Green eyes reflected by the moon, the white and grey figment would shine and cover the ground. Its rays touching the objects as it shown, bouncing off and grazing the edges of another. The fae would stick to the forest line, her paws and limbs silently caring the Delta towards a place that she had taken a likening too. Deathly Whisper Glade. The area was sickening at the night, a nightmare in its own and the devils that were sure hidden beneath it's mist brought the fae back every time. Braelyn belonged to the beings, the lost souls caressing her mind and own troubled self into a emotion of security. She loved it. She loved them.

The devils were always there for her, something that she had not had or would ever experience from an actual being of fur and skin. The dark, it was soothing and the darker the night would get so would the desire to be dragged down and put into eternal serenity itched and crawled its way all over her figure and like a summer fly, it would buzz until shot down. But that would never even happen, the fae could never obtain such a wondrous thing and like everybody else wanting what they couldn't hold, she would be left all the time with a hold in her soul. The wind disrupting her thoughts, the fae would let her head lift and let the empty atmosphere carry itself around and through her figure. I am here. Words only audible for the lost souls of the land, Braelyn would motion herself further into the fog, her steps all too familiar with the landscape as she moved around the jagged rocks that pierced the fog and let their tips shine above to warn others not to come closer. Like an figment of ones crazed imagination, the Delta would walk leisurely through the fog, her coat hidden and only the outline shown like a shadow of the night.

The waters would touch her tawny paws and succumbing to the cold dab, she would let her figure float and walk further out. What was in these waters she had no clue to, but the whispers it brought told her everything was okay. They called Braelyn forward and letting her muzzle reach down, her tongue would let itself out and bring the frost liquid back up into her mouth. It was then something was off. The waters felt disturbed, and hearing the sound of something coming out, Braelyn would let her head lift and her eyes scan the fog as it rose higher. The last time she had met someone in such a dangerous place, it had been the Alpha of Helidos. Fenris. If he was here once again, the Delta would surely be taken aback as she would not have expected to see him again.

But to the faes eyes, all she saw instead on the dry part of land was a black shadow, orbs a bright golden hue. She knew this male, it was the warrior of the newest pack in the lands. Mischief would embed itself in her gaze and backing slowly into the mist, she would silently motion to a different area. "Ah, look who it is." Braelyn would whisper, her voice carried like one of the devils of the terrain. Constantly stalking quietly, she would taunt the brute with devious laughs every so often as she would keep herself hidden in the mist and rocks before erupting onto one of the rocks nearby. Legs bent to keep her balance, the fae would let her dull nails scrap across the solid figure as she watched the male now, a small smirk placed upon her lips as she would voice out words in her regular tone. "Hello Desoto."

PostSubject: Re: May These Noises Startle Your Sleep [Delta Braelyn] May These Noises Startle Your Sleep [Delta Braelyn] Icon_minitimeAugust 5th 2015, 13:07

(OOC: Curse you and making an extra long post, Brae…)

"'Ah, look who it is.’”

The voice was soft, a whisper, but with the wind and the slap of the water against the rocks and earth being the only noise, it almost seemed like a yell. It was so sudden that for a split second the Delta tensed, his head jerking sharply up as his ears straightened in order to detect where it came from. But as he swept his eyes around, there was nothing. A frown etched its way upon his lips, his eyes narrowing as he tried to find whom the voice had belonged to. It sounded familiar, and it was clearly feminine. The words that the owner had pronounced stated that they had met, and the tone did not sound like it would be someone from his own pack. Four others he had met that were not in his pack; that pesky Helidos wolf, Delta Braelyn of Erenyx, that unnerving and cannibalistic rouge, and Ariste. The two males were out so he guessed it was Braelyn or Ariste, but the latter fae he had not seen or spoken to in a long time. And she had probably forgotten about him, and if they ever did speak again, Desoto was almost completely sure that she would attack him for his treachery. So that left the vixen of the night, and with that thought he scanned again for her brown mixed pelt. Following the sounds of her rather sinister laughter until she decided to show herself.

At the sound of his name he turned his head around to gaze over his shoulder. Her stance was crouched for balance, a smirk upon her mouth. Green eyes peered back at him as he placed his own golden orbs on her face. He wasn’t was not afraid of disrespecting her, as she had said the last time they had met, rankings and packs did not matter out here, they were simply themselves. He returned her smirk with one of his own before replying with a smooth tone, “Stalking me are you now, Braelyn?” His tail flicked again as he paused, still gazing at her while waiting for a response. It had been a while since he had first laid eyes on her, but he hadn’t forgotten a thing. The Delta still remembered how they had carelessly revealed things about themselves, pasts, histories, and anything else they needed to get off their chest. He hadn’t told anyone about the encounter, he never found it as important. “But at least you aren’t that cannibalistic rouge who tried to hit on me…” He shook his head, closing his eyes as he remembered that encounter it was something he would never forget. “—That brute was beyond insane. “ Then gesturing with his head for her to come closer he said with a smile, “Come join me, if you wish, fae from Erenyx.”

He turned his head back skyward and closed his eyes as the wind blew against his face and chest.  His body was relaxed again, his stance the same as before the vixen arrived. At this moment he seemed as if he didn’t give a damn in the world, and maybe he didn’t. Nothing seemed to be going terrible for him even if his life was pretty uneventful as of now.  Opening his eyes again he kept his gaze fixed on the darkened sky above. The moon was slowly getting more and more covered by the clouds, and the stars were almost all covered by the giant dark clouds.  “So how have you been, my dear? Any stories worth telling your dear friend?”  The Delta wasn’t sure if they were even friends at this point, perhaps they were, perhaps not.  It was after all this was only their second encounter. Shifting his gaze he looked back towards her, his head lowering to its normal resting point as he watched her calmly, listening for her voice through the darkened night once again.

May These Noises Startle Your Sleep [Delta Braelyn] Empty
PostSubject: Re: May These Noises Startle Your Sleep [Delta Braelyn] May These Noises Startle Your Sleep [Delta Braelyn] Icon_minitimeAugust 8th 2015, 15:53

Hind legs bunched up below, the paws attached would rest between the jagged edges of the solid platform as the other end of the faes body would be outstretched as she steadied out her weight to balance on the uneven rock. The Delta would train her orbs on the brutes own, peering into the golden color as she would let him take notice of her presence. Braelyn had not expected to see the mysterious male tonight and if she was to be honest, the Delta hadn't expected to see him at all after that one night in Isle De Muerto. She had figured it would have been a one time situation, that the two would have separated in their own directions and as time would pass-  forgotten each other with no recollection of the other. It would be as if fate had brought the pair together again, and like before, on a dark night were the silence drenched the atmosphere and land.

There was a reason for the brute to be here and while the male made a comment on it being how the Delta was stalking him, Braelyn could only let a small smile cross her features at such a thought. Stalking him? Ha, the idea was idiotic to the fae but she would play along with the other in teasing mood. "You wish I was stalking you." The Delta's voice soft in its own tune to counter the smooth nature of the brutes, the fae would let her banner twitch at its tip as she continued to view the male, the moon's gray rays illuminating the landscape so the brute would show. In such a dark coat of night, if the light source had been gone and blocked by the clouds, he would have been completely invisible. The water hitting the lower part of the rock, the liquid would come to cover the faes legs in droplets as well as fall back down as the part of her that had been covered in water would drip off of Braelyn's coat.

Listening once more as the brute spoke, her auds would perk and take notice of the words chosen. Cannibalistic rogue? The Delta was wrong in her own ways, being maybe a bit sadistic and having a cruel nature but she had never heard of such things. For a wolf to eat one of its own seemed so wrong and disturbing, the thought made her spine tingle and her fur lift slightly. Shaking her head minimal at the idea of Desoto and another brute, the fae would let her muzzle open to tease the brute. "Insane for you apparently." Releasing a short chuckle, the Delta would continue to have a emotion of jeer, her mind ready to conjure up words to mock the male as he made it so easy to do so. Braelyn had been in a mood of relaxation and knowing the brute wouldn't take to serious to her past and future comments, it made the night brimming with potential fun. Well, fun for her.

Taking the brutes offer the fae would quickly let her legs push outwards, throwing her figure towards the flat ground the other currently stood upon. Landing swiftly and on all fours, she would make her way over with a calm expression, tail moving faintly behind her. Keeping a good distance between her and the male, Braelyn would let herself go unsteady, legs buckling beneath her as she would fall to land on her stomach and rest. The Delta would gaze up to see the brute and watching the peaceful male stand, the fae would move her orbs to the mist and fog below. How she had just been one of the lost souls and now, she laid above it and them.

"My dear? To what do I owe the pleasure of experiencing your chivalry again?" A smirk reappearing on the faes face, the gesture would be small as her green hues would turn to glance at the brute but only for a moment. Motioning her head downwards, the Delta would cross her paws and rest her chin on the dorsum. "I've been well and I have no news to give since our last meeting." Going quiet, the fae supposed it would be proper to ask the same and letting her mouth open, Braelyn would do so. "How about yourself? Anything to tell Desoto?" Not moving her form, the only thing to shift would be the Delta's orbs as they gazed to see the brute, awaiting for his muzzle to twitch giving it away he was about to speak.

PostSubject: Re: May These Noises Startle Your Sleep [Delta Braelyn] May These Noises Startle Your Sleep [Delta Braelyn] Icon_minitimeAugust 9th 2015, 22:51

"You wound me..." His voice was soft, mumbled she jumped over to join him. The thought of another brute insane for him was sickening and it made a cold feeling settle in his chest. He did not want any type of feelings of a male that came towards him in an affection of love. There was no hope in it that the brute would feel the same, he simple wasn't into that, he supposed. And he doubted many wolves were, Mjölner was the only male he had met to do such things in a direction towards him, and hopefully the only. If he were to get any type of attraction from another he assumed and hoped it would be a she-wolf, for his feelings had much more of a chance of being returned if one was of the opposing gender. However, he hadn't met many vixens, and he doubted that anyone of them would be interested in an intimate relationship with him. Back home, there was barely any, if not none, relationships that he knew of. Wether or not pups would be conceived in winter and brought upon in spring was unknown to him, he was not very involved. Something he should work on, but never got the courage or will to do so.

"-Twice in a matter of minutes." He wished for no stalker, never would he. The thought of having someone follow you for their own desires was something he wished not to have at all. Even if it might be able to be viewed as a creepy type of flattering, he still did not ask for it. And it wasn't like he'd get one anyways, he had made no reason for others to want to know what went on in his life. And if he truly did have someone following him, then they would know about meeting with Braelyn now, maybe before as well, plus the rouge. Rather interesting events, but something he would rather keep a secret only to share with those who would not tell. Like the vixen who now sat beside him, but not touching, she seemed loyal and as far as he knew, she had not told a soul of their encounter. He had not, there wasn't anyone to tell, per say. Though Desoto got a hunch that no one would approve of him meeting her and revealing as much as he did. Hell, even he didn't approve. But something drove him to do it, told him that she could be trusted, despite her nature and home. It had told him to treat her with respect and hospitality when even those in his pack didn't get it. But, why? Why was she so special to be treated in these ways by him?

Mentally shaking his head, he rid the thoughts from his mind. They were none that he could answer, and he didn't want to ask her. It would make him seem as if he was in love with her, and he didn't want that. It might scare her away for no reason, and she was one of the wolves he felt he could truly rely on. But it seemed as if she had other plans, wether intentional or not. Why he always called her those pet names, ones that lovers might call the other, or just out of respect or lack of another name he didn't know. So he shrugged in reply, his voice letting a few words flow. "Would it sound idiotic to say 'you bring it out in me'?" He wasn't sure how those words sounded, but they were the only ones that he could think could truly describe it. If it made him sound like a fool so be it, there was nothing he could do about her opinions anyways.

Normalcy, this was good. Nothing heartfelt was happening, no secrets being shared. It was simply chatter and nothing serious. "My life has also been fairly normal. That is except that we had a pack exercise in taking down a moose. Both good and bad things happened. One good factor is that we now share the same ranking in each of our lands, and the bad.. Well, you can think what you want for that." His golden orbs flicked down and over to her, she was looking at him and for a moment he stared straight in her eyes, before looking away again. His gazed planted once again at the moon, it was slowly disappearing from sight, and watching it become so, rather intrigued him. Not many got to see the moon and it's beauty. No, instead the lay in there dens resting thought the beauty of night, never seeing what it beholds during the silent hours and how it's brightness stands out against the dark blanket that replaced the blue sky. "Do you find it strange that we have only met in the dead hours of night, Braelyn? Undisturbed and alone? If we had met during the day then plenty of eyes could see us, but yet here we are."

PostSubject: Re: May These Noises Startle Your Sleep [Delta Braelyn] May These Noises Startle Your Sleep [Delta Braelyn] Icon_minitimeAugust 10th 2015, 16:04

The world was breaking, shaping into something that would be considered the same but actually different. The once beautiful, peaceful essence of it's build and data slowly peeling away - like the skin of a viperous snake during its time of shedding - to shape into something different. It was a faint process, one that could take days and depending on the situation it was in, possibly years to centuries. But the fae could see it. Oh, she was too smart to go about in her normal life without noticing the change occurring beneath her. Most would ignore such a thing, their eyes not trained to spot the difference in what was just seconds before. The formation of grey, fogged vapor in the sky would motion at its own ease but not without the aid of gentle winds coming from the northern hemisphere of the lands to cover the beaming light of the moon. Its source of shining white would disappear for seconds at a time and at the same time, the fae would take observation to the fog below as it would rise and move to conceal its demons and the creatures beneath.

Such a strange occurrence indeed. Nothing was ever identical to how it had been in the last duration; The mist had made movement to a fresh location, the moon had too and even the critters of the night had advanced to somewhere new. The Earth was always changing, and it was in this thought that made Braelyn's mind whirl with the fact that her life was at a still. Nothing ever changed in the Delta's existence, before during her younger years it had but now, everything was content on staying unchanged. The fae liked it. She felt secure in the fact that nothing foreign would come to her if her life stayed the same, something that could be seen as reliable. Until it did change. Things always will become different and Braelyn wasn't expecting or hoping for her life to be the same as it was now in five years for that would be boring, but unlike others who wished for thrills and adventure every day, the Delta was more than satisfied of her life at the moment.

Psyche tuning itself back towards the reality the fae had put herself in, she would let her orbs move to glance at the brute to her side once more. Timing was always Braelyn's specialty, and not to long after she would bring her attention back onto the male would he fill the atmosphere with words. It did sound a bit idiotic. The brutes sentence sounding like some cheesy, pick up line a flirt would use in the attempt of swooning a naive fae but that would have been in a statement. This, this was however in a question and thinking lightly of it, Braelyn would let the most honest answer come from her lips. "It does for I usually bring out one's worst." Green hues finding themselves fully on the brute this time than just from their corners. It certainly was uncharted territory. The experience she was having in both occurrences with the Agavos brute was certainly foreign. Never had Braelyn told another what she shared with Desoto, for the most part that being that she had no one too tell and in the way she brought out this courtesy in him when he spoke of being rude, truly made this uncharted territory. Perhaps the Delta wasn't that bad at first impressions as she thought to have been.

"Delta now huh? So, does this mean you're my competition and I need to step up my game?" Releasing a faint smirk from the side if her muzzle, the fae would continue to gaze at the male, their eyes meeting for a moment as Desoto moved his eyes before he had turned away. The matters of ranks did not matter in the Neutrals for a wolf was just a wolf out here, the role of Alphas and other high ranks nothing more than words in the land of rogues. The brute seemed to have the same mind-set as the Delta, so she would expect him to not think this changed anything. Braelyn wouldn't act out differently because of his new rank. The male had earned it from the fact his Alpha saw him suited to do so. "Undisturbed and Alone? That sounds wonderful. But, No - I do not find it strange. I find it intriguing how the night weeps and it is us who answer its calls."

Lips tugging at their corners to offer a small smile to the brute, the fae would soon turn her gaze to the ground for a moment before her lungs would let a vague sigh escape and release from the hole of her muzzle. Resting her fore-paws beneath her body, Braelyn would swiftly slide herself upward, hoisting only her upper torso from the terrain so she would be in a seated position. Turning towards the Agavos Delta, the fae would let her banner flicker as she addressed him. "Do you find it strange?"

PostSubject: Re: May These Noises Startle Your Sleep [Delta Braelyn] May These Noises Startle Your Sleep [Delta Braelyn] Icon_minitimeAugust 17th 2015, 23:09

It is short but it will do]

A small laugh came from his jaws at her words. He had to admit, he loved her replies to the words he spoke.  The line that he had spoken to use in explanation for his courteous words was no doubt usually one that was used in a sense of love or flirtation. But here it was not. The line was true though, as idiotic as it sounded. Sure it made him seem like he might want to try something, which he was not, and thankfully the female didn’t take it as such. He was glad she understood it, or at least seemed to. It did seem logical that she would know when he was serious or not, after all they had shared most of their lives previously in their meetings.  The impression that she had given him did not seem to fit what her history was or how she explained her personality. Where most found her sinister and evil, he found her intriguing and trustworthy. It was weird, he knew. But he was strange, they both were. Socially out-casted from their packs they met by chance in the cover of night. It would make for a rather boring pup story as of now, but perhaps they had more in store for them. Something that was unknown to both. They met again here, at night, alone. In what world does this happen to two wolves that seemed to trust each other automatically? He had no clue, but it was happening, and what it meant was completely foreign to him. As he spoke of what was new in his life, again the reply she made caused another laugh to come out from his chest. Turning towards her now he spread his lips in a grin. “I don’t know, are you slacking with your duties, Brae? If so you might deeply consider ‘stepping up your game’.” She was smirking at him, and as their eyes met and he quickly looked away. Those green orbs… He quickly shook his head mentally. No, he could not think like that. He sighed, his ears flattening for a moment before returning normally. Filling in his thoughts with words to shake what he might have thought from his mind. There was no way that could happen. She soon came to answer him, and again her words intrigued him. It was true, being undisturbed and alone did sound wonderful. But the reason that they both stuck with his packs, or so he believed, was that they liked being alone but also wanted company. Not much but some. Simply being around other wolves was enough for them, they did not have to speak and get involved as much. She smiled at him; a small one but he still caught it. And it made him slightly smirk as she moved her gaze away before sitting up, a sigh escaping her jaws. She then faced him again, asking him the same question that he had asked her. “I agree with you. I find it intriguing that we, the anti-socials, both come to answer the cries of night. And being undisturbed and alone… I quite like it. Leaves more room for less shared details, I suppose. For some the sun might seem like the brightest thing out there, but for us, the moon seems to shine brighter. Even when it is being partially hidden by clouds. Don’t you think?”

(ooc- sorry if this sucks. Trying to get back into my groove after being away is a struggle.)

That sound. It's tune representing joy or even pleasure at times but as well could be used to show one's false humor. Why was such a thing now coming to light? Its volumes breaking the barrier of silence as it washed into the atmosphere and rang in her ears. It was small, not long or loud enough to be anything major but still the way it appeared confused the fae. In what part of her comment had been comical or amusing? It wasn't necessarily a bad thing, to hear the Delta laugh as it wasn't annoying yet the sound was so strange to hear. Even if she had already heard it before. Had he been given the same experience? Had she let her guard down so much that on one of these late midnight talks, Braelyn had actually laughed? The female couldn't recall ever doing so, but it was a subconscious thing that most didn't pay any mind to. As she would watch the brute, taking in his dark coat as it blended with the shadows, it was always the moon's reflection across his eyes that gave away his position. Waiting and listening was her game, attentive to what the male would speak or do from a tiny shift to the flicker of an ear. Desoto was alright she guessed, and as the only other soul to know her story she could have considered him a friend. But they have only met twice now. The male's intentions seemed pure but there was always something off. No one who claims to be rude is polite on both occasions of meeting. The first time was what she thought to be good luck, but now curiosity was getting the better of the Delta and as soon as that feeling came did the questions. Perhaps he had other motives to being so kind and polite.

The fae was an Erenyx Wolf and him a Agavos, so the chance of this Desmond setting this whole act up was possible. Yet, even with all these doubts and uncertainties, Braelyn still found herself having slight trust in the brute and no matter how much she wished, the Delta could not reclaim such a vulnerable and valuable thing. With all her efforts in vain, it was as if the male stole and hid it somewhere to never be found. In the same manner as before, the fae would continue to watch and listen: her brown tipped auds twitching every so often as her eyes gathered what information they could. He was thinking. She could see the troubled gaze, as if something was bothering the brute enough for him to shake his head, trying to free himself of it. But even Braelyn knew thoughts like such were no easy thing to get rid of. As much as she spends her time swallowed in her mind, once something truly noticeable comes up, that single thought is always around hovering in the back until another of similarity links the two together.  Soon, Desoto began and the fae couldn't help but be attentive to what words he had chosen to use. It was nice to hear those words, "I agree." Made it sound as if their minds were the same, which was an interesting thing to face. "There is a bright light in everything for me Desoto. It is however only the moon and stars which shine pure..." Pausing for a moment, Braelyn would move her focus from the brute nearby to the sky. Its angelic nature captivating her attention only for a moment before she would come back to the male and speak. "- Everything else is dark." Not long after her comment did something strike her mind, the time of day reminding the Delta of their first encounter. Perhaps Desoto would be taken aback by the sudden shift but it was this question did Braelyn realize she forgot to ask long ago. "If you knew of your sister but she didn't know you.. why didn't you ever try to meet her?"

In the current lighting, Desoto was nothing more than a shadow. Invisible to the eye it were nights like these when he felt most at ease, hidden from the rest of the world. He could observe peacefully, as none would spot him. But, as always, he would grow bored and made a noise, alerting the being of his presence. He was no killer, but he wouldn't be surprised if he were to end one's life on a night like this. It was almost tempting, and it's logic in it undoubtedly made sense. Well, minus why the brute would kill someone at this time. He had no enemies that he would wish dead, and he definitely wasn't sadistic. So instead this was when the Delta would sit alone, usually, thinking and wondering about things. How the past related to the future, where he would be, and what he would become. At times it was hard, to know that you had nothing. No shoulder to lean on with full trust. He had his pack yes, but he had no specific friend that he could go to and express his frustrations there. It seemed that only these very calming and informative nights have him that relief for a while, it made him forget that he was in fact a delta. He felt normal again, when he was on his own and was free. For a while he loved it, craved it even. But it soon turned to loneliness, forcing him to find a group that would welcome him. And now that he was in a pack once more, he craved freedom. He supposed that was a cycle, a never ending one. However he wouldn't leave, and the late night expeditions were enough to keep him satisfied. Perhaps they weren't so good for his health with his olding age, but he was still strong and on the tips of his toes. He could last for a good while longer.

Nodding, the wolf took in the next few words the female said. It wasn't a happy conversation, nothing about it really spiked him, and he doubted Braelyn, to be worth laughing and grinning about. In fact, it was more of a mutual exchange of viewpoints, thoughts, and feelings. The two outcasts had found each other, and it was to the other that they shared their histories with. Their hopes and fears, what the dreaded and what they were proud of. It was strange, the two knew so much about each other and having only met once before. For Deltas of two different packs it was almost treachery, Braelyn having spilled the secrets of Erenyx to his request. But neither, as far as he knew, hadn't spoken a word. Their lips were sealed as to want was shared between them, but their minds and eyes were not. More than once, Desoto had found himself thinking of the earth pelted she-wolf, wondering how she was. But it wasn't very often. And now they were here again, not by plan but by chance. It made him want to question what exactly would happen between them. However he wasn't psychic, and couldn't read the future, no matter how many times he might try. He had been lost in his mind, the mess being a pit of darkness as he could not think of anything. But her words had ripped him from himself, and wince. His eyes shutting as his teeth clenched together. He knew she could not see him, and he was thankful for that. Truth was his sister was a soft spot in him, and not expressing who he really was was something he regretted most in his life. Having not seen her in years it left him with a sense of emptiness at not knowing if she was safe or not. For all he knew she could be dead, rotting away and into the ground. Her cries never to be heard and hushed by her kin. His early life had not been easy, being in the middle of a war made sure of that. And things only got worse before they became better. His family was separated, and he never got to know his father well or his younger sibling at all. And it filled him with sadness when he thought about what might have happened if their circumstances were not as they had been.

After a moment of silence he sighed, his voice coming off as hushed and distant as he would say "I don't know." Why he had not spoken to her was beyond him, but he knew he should have, and if not he their father, told her about who he was along with his mother and brothers. "I wish I did, everyday I still regret not saying anything. The timing was never right I guess, and once the rule about females was established in their pack, she grew fearful of brutes. Only trusting our father and a close friend of hers who died a few years back. I wonder about her all the time, who she has become, where she is, is she alive or dead, if she has a family; that whole gist of things. I wonder about if my family's situation had been different, how would it affect our relationships now. But it's too late for that, and there is nothing I can do about it..." His eyes had opened somewhere within his speech, and now he was just staring at the large rock they sat on. Waves hitting it as they travelled to the shore. He was cast in silence again, not looking up or around. Just staring at the space between his paws as his ears stayed slightly flattened. The Delta did not dare to look up to see Braelyn, but she could make up what ever he said to add to her judgement of him.
