So with the new rank we have got to get some rules out there.

1. All applications are done in OOC and IC.
2. Use the code - do not change the code.
3. These posts count for Activity but not towards your thread count.
4. You can post as many times as you see fit in character.
5. Once a Scout is chosen the only way for them to lose their rank is capture, stepping down, or death.

Teren called the pack to the clearing. Those who wished to be new Scout rank should all step forward and speak out your reason why you should be the scout.

The lithe, russet furred she-wolf sauntered discreetly into the pack clearing, her steel grey gaze sharp and alert. She didn't really spend much time so deep in the pack's territory with her current standing as an omega; it was easier to avoid obnoxious higher ups and pack mates with egos too expansive for their diminutive brains that way. She would have preferred to keep her distance today as well, but she'd be lying if she claimed not to be at least a little curious as to why the oh-so-glorious Alpha Teren had summoned the entire pack. She kept to the shadows at the far end of the clearing, slinking along the outskirts of the crowd before casually taking a seat, her expression lax and indifferent despite the intrigue sparking in the depths of her observant gaze.

She had never seen her supposed "king" before today, and though she didn't really care to admit it, he did seem to live up to the copious rumors she had heard. The first thing she noticed about the dark furred brute was that he was massive, not just in height but in breadth as well. His pelt was pitch black, and the various streaks of white and grey that often accompanied old age stood starkly out against it. Tch. I'm surprised that stature of his hasn't started to degenerate yet. How long does he have left even? 2, 3 years? She scoffed silently to herself, completely apathetic towards the intimidating male. Caspian had claimed that Erenyx was an inherently misogynistic group, and she was fairly certain that the aging alpha was the root cause of it. Sexism is an institution, after all; it wouldn't exist here unless those in power intended it too. Wow. How pathetic. She thought carelessly to herself before nonchalantly resting her chin on her paws, her flint like eyes beginning to droop with boredom. What? Is he afraid of us? Or does he really have so low a self esteem that he feels the need to discriminate against an entire group to make himself feel important? Her listless gaze drifted off to the side as her imprudent thoughts began to wander to another worthless canine she knew with a similar disposition, and a baleful wrath momentarily flashed through her at the memory, her nails sinking malevolently into the soil beneath her. What a waste.

Though her attention had steadily begun to wane off elsewhere, her focus was quickly drawn back to the alpha when he began to speak, her keen gray gaze narrowing with a subtle interest. He needs... A scout... She had never heard of the rank before, but it appeared as though the job entailed sneaking onto the territory of the surrounding packs and gathering intel. In spite of her intense loathing for the entire rank system, this opening was a very rare opportunity for her. She didn't particularly care if she remained an omega for the rest of her life- she could still attain her goal nonetheless- but she would admit that it was difficult to pursue her interests in her current position. She couldn't hunt save for small game, and it was hard to practice her combat abilities efficiently when she was avoiding everyone. The most tantalizing detail, however, was that she would be allowed to cross pack borders without upsetting her peevish superiors. If it was true that Hasoka had ventured onto another pack's land, that that was the reason his scent had disappeared, then her chances of finding him would increase sharply with the range.

After a few moments of pensive thought, the long legged she-wolf stalked to the front of the clearing, her sharp grey gaze focused on the immense, night colored brute. She halted before bowing her head in submission, her austere expression concealing whatever distaste she held for the male. "Alpha, I believe I would be the best choice to fill this position." She stated earnestly, her usually harsh tone blunt and straightforward. "As you can see, my legs are long and my body form is slight, affording me high agility and speed, qualities that are necessary in order to slip in and out of places unnoticed. I'm accustomed to moving about unseen due to my former duties as a hunter, and my pelt blends in nicely with the majority of my surroundings. I don't usually stick out and I'm not one to catch the initial attention of others. I am cunning and clever as well, and I'm fairly skilled at outsmarting my opponents." She kept her tone respectful and cordial, and she was fighting back her normally bold impulses. If she did anything petulant she was guaranteed to lose the opportunity. "If you doubt my word, sir, I will not hesitate to prove my abilities." The word left a foul taste in her mouth, but she tried her best to ignore it. Attaining her ultimate goal was more important than her pride, and landing the job as a scout would be a crucial step towards her success.
