| Awakening from his light slumber with the ruckus of his siblings, the two doing almost what they always did every morning. How nice. The sarcasm running through the thin lines of his mind, the young pup would slowly but surely open his hues to see the world, the confinements of the den the first thing to be seen as it always had been. It was a new day. The war was over and sadly, had been a loss as many of the packs cared for and respected members were put to rest on the battlefield. So many lives taken by the Erenyx mutts. Even the Alphess herself. Things just were not the same. Wolves here in Helidos had taken lives too, many that could have been avoided. His could the pack act as if it was pure when they were no better than the neighbors? Both took lives for the sake of it. Using excuses no doubt to cover the fact that they were murders. So much for pack-pride. Thane, finding his footing and dragging himself out of the den didn't hesitate after a moment of silent still to begin walking. No certain destination. The male just walked, traveling across the territory until he found himself once more in the rogue lands. New day. New adventure. Cruising through the tall grass terrain, Thane would find himself in mere moments standing on the bank of a small river. Orange hues staring directly into the reflected images before he lowered his head, the adolescent crouched down and forward as he began to drink what could be seen as freedom. |

| As the mass crept through the shadows, he found the source of all uncertainty awaiting his arrival upon the gurgling little stream. It babbled its wondrous brooks and spout in unreasonable ways to an almost imperfect way, in which suited the roguish fellow as he entered with a grim smile. Carrying himself rather sluggishly onwards, he followed the small waterways on naturally perfected silent paws. The woods sang softly, the cold air blocked from its tall forestry which guarded the streams he so followed. Tediously did he mind to his fur whilst standing conveniently at the waters, picking free the tangles upon his belly fur and rinsing off the leftover blood that stained his snout. He made a generous contribution to the waters, the blood of the innocent winding down and through, coloring the babbling brook to the shade of a clear pink. He'd watch as the pigments share along their way, moving passed rocks and stones on their way down to wherever. The rogue didn't so much as think of where it'd end up or how long it would take before it would fade with the rest of the water. No.. because as the male would raise his head, finished with his small bathing session, his pupils would dilate to the slit of that of a serpent's. The whiskey gold found in his irises seemed to consume a majority of his pupil, the demonic look in his eyes glossing over to a newfound interest across the way. Without noticing, his paws seemed to snake away from the clear fluids and downwards to where the other had been standing.
Mjölnir hid in the tall grasses that aided the gargle's sides, his single ear being the only thing which could be seen above the weeds and such, unless the pup were to see his glowing gold eyes peer through them at him. Shivers ran cold up his spine as his face grew into a large, sinister smile in which only the devil himself could admire. He hissed with a cold sense of humor as he came closer, his head raising as his body became more well known. Licking his chops for show, the rogue would jump forwards, his paws stomping into the center of the water's path while looking skeptically down at the other. He faired well in bulk, not much for looks, but it'll due for him. "My my.. aren't you precious.." Leaning in closer, the smell of the pup's youth made Mjölnir go into a frenzy, like a drug addict being surrounded in a room full of heroine and cocaine all free to be used. It was so hard to bear as he'd breathe in the scent and peer to the other before whispering,
"Run." |

| Reddish hued tongue would hang from the mouth, rolling over teeth as it's tip would dip into the clear river's water and bring it back up to quench the pups thirst. Thane had to admit, this place was nice. Quiet and peaceful, he could see how someone would live here if anyone did. Water being an endless supply and bringing in hares or deer as food along with fish, it was quite the spot. The large trees and foliage more than enough to hid a skilled hunter in waiting, but with the colder season coming in just a few days, all that would change. Things would die, leaving no hide outs: the animals will not come to drink from the river as it would be frozen over with frost and ice. Such a turn of events indeed. Nature's way of giving one false hope that this place could be theirs forever. Orange hues staring straight into their reflected identical's, the male was lost in thought but all too quickly did Thane's own turn of events take place.
A force hitting hard into the water, the pup snapped his head up to see the commotion and while expecting to see a bear or his mother, it was instead a wolf. A... very strange wolf. Eyes a similar hue, the brute only had but half an ear on his left. Rather large, the pup was sure he had seen larger and therefore, only sat observing the other with narrowed eyes. Who was this? Thane could not count this wolf was in Helidos, as he seemed too lost and domineering for that. Perhaps this was one of the Erenyx wolves, wishing to scare the youngster or bring him back to their leader and start another war. Thane would not allow that. He couldn't. Rising to all fours, the adolescent met this wolf head on, ears peeling back while his nose wrinkled to expose only the tips of his teeth. "You better leave. My mother is near and if she catches you...." Thane lied, the words slipping through all too easily to not tip the male off that he was indeed here alone. Tail rising and curling at its tip, the pup would lift his frame to appear larger, a small snarl seeping past his lips to threaten the other. "You will die." |

| At the little threat, his lips twitched ever so casually as he stared the other down, restraining him from laughter before it was too late. The display of intimidation and attempt of enlarging oneself was too much to bare for the cannibalistic rogue in that moment. He broke into a fit of twisted turning giggles, the obnoxious laughs slicing through whatever peace was left in the surrounding woodland. One through with that, his chuckles then slowly decreased into a shifty sigh and pair of leveled eyes to match. They crinkled from his smiling cheekbones, the evil twinkle in his eye brightening the black within his thin pupils. He was sure to predict a mother would be the cause of such a meal, and so be it he'd thank her in the future if the two were to ever meet! He'd be dying for another treat, in fact, one would surely not suit him, but it'd be enough for the while. Mjölnir hissed happily, "Well.. then..," his voice lowered, clearly knowing to if the mother would be near or not in which could only be a forged lie to safe the pup's hide. Within a flash, happiness drained from the rogue's face and anger replaced it, his cannibalistic ways taking light of his expression rather his usual gleefulness. He quickly raised his paw and brought the pup down to a close, his large paws then pressing firmly down onto both sides to keep him still as the water would flow around them. The rogue muffled a loose laugh as he knelt down to where the pup's ear was, whispering softly, "-you'll just have to die first." With this, Mjölnir brought the pup's face into the water with one of his paws, making sure that the entire side of the little one's snout was then beneath the shallow water by force. He watched happily as the other would struggle to find air, all the while being able to lift his head for huge gasps until the rogue would firmly press him back under.
You just love to watch him squirm.. like you did with the rest of us.
The rogue's head twitched as the voices rang too and fro throughout his mind in their frightening, random patterns. They echoed terrifyingly through his most deepest memories, staring into his dark soul and watching happily into tricked illusions. Within his eyes, they then surrounded him, observing his ways as he'd playfully drown the pup little by little until he'd pass out. He had experienced the look in pup's eyes countlessly before he'd snap their necks, the fear which they possessed in which haunted his dreams. They chanted their stops, to make him change his mind, but it only drove him more to the brink of insanity. And then he'd snap, taking the pup's neck within his jaws and quickly ending the suffering which he so enjoyed to put on the child. Blood then pooled onto his teeth and dripped down his chin, he dropped the pup and peered to its lifeless body as it would drain into the waters it laid within. The rogue's imagination then disappeared into a fit of sorrow, youthful cries. Mjölnir shook his head and kept his eyes shut as he'd rock back and forth till he was sure they were gone. Peeking one eye open, all the images had cleared and he'd be allowed to eat. The rogue quickly took apart the pup, piece by piece, ripping free the fur and pulling it over his shoulder for good use during the winter along with the badger hide he found suitable to match his den within to the frozen caverns. He ate his share here before carrying the rest elsewhere to be reserved, then he'd feasted menacingly in silence, every last bit and use the bones for decoration along with the coat he so adored of the pup's. Within seconds, the rogue was gone and most satisfied with his kill. |
