| Confidently the small multi-colored fae stepped into the center of the pack clearing, her heart starting to race slightly in her chest. So this is what excitement felt like. It had been a long long time since Katyusha had been excited about much, as her rather bland life left little to be excited for. But today was different, today the warrior had a fight to look forward to. Katyusha had been training hard under the Alpha since she first joined the pack, mostly keeping such training to herself, as she had when she trained under Steele; but now the time had come to show her Alpha, and her pack what she was truly capable of. Standing in the snow the fae would take a moment to look around the clearing, tail swaying slightly behind her as she took a few deep breaths, to calm herself, knowing she needed her mind to be centered and focused for what was to come.
Breeze was a strong wolf, very deserving of the title she carried. While Katyusha actually cared very little for the rank, she simply wished to make her abilities known, to both the pack and herself. In Agavos a spar was little more than a game, with play nips and grappling, a strong contrast to the life or death struggle of a spar with Steele, that tested every fiber of her being to the very core. The fae honestly remembered fondly the feeling of looking down her muzzle to watch the blood drip from her head through the blurred vision of blood loss. She remembered the harsh warm sting as a fang pierced her skin, the pain of each new wound serving to remind her she was still alive. She remembered Steele making her run up and down the side of a dangerous mountain pass, and how each morning she would carry a bigger and heavier branch in her jaws to build strength, a habit she carried to this day as she trained before meeting with Desmond to tune her technique. With a confident grin the fae would shift to her haunches, tipping her head back and howling for the Alpha, and putting forth her challenge to the Delta.
"Delta Breeze! I am challenging you for your rank!" she called out, just in case the howl wasn't clear enough. There was no going back now, the challenge had been issued and the whole pack would know. And now all that was left was the show. |

| The fae was off patrolling when the howl rang forth over the lands of Agavos. Her time had recently been spent training and patrolling, and she had kept to herself. The call had a challenging and demanding tone, clearly feminine. Annoyed, the Delta trotted back to camp to see the commotion, her muscled form emerging from the shadows at the edge of the clearing. In the center, she could see Warrior Katyusha grinning, and knew immediately what was meant. Well this certainly makes my day interesting. It was a challenge, to either her or Fel. The female's words clarified her purpose, and Breeze stepped forward with a devilish smile. "A challenge? Fantastic! It's about time I had a fight to spice up my day." The grey she-wolf carefully noted her opponents physical traits. It was clear that the warrior was built for speed. Yet she had heard that the fae trained quite a bit. Underestimating things in a fight leads to injury or death. The Delta recalled from her own training. She had seen it in the Moose hunt, and the results had not been pretty. A small knowing smile danced upon her lips and she dipped her head. Breeze stood ready, loosening her muscles for a moment as she waited. "Well then....show me what you've got." She said, then pressed her tail to her side and flattening her ears against her skull. All emotion had drained from her features and mind. Emotion would only get in her way. Instead, the grey wolf focused on watching her opponent for signs of her attack. Katyusha would be fast, that much she knew. ____________________________________ Attack: none Defense: ears pinned, tail against her flank, alert and ready for an attack. Injuries: None |

| Standing in the center of the large pack clearing Katyusha's grin would widen happily as her opponent presented herself on the edge of the clearing. The fae almost looked happy to have been challenged, something that surprisingly eased the warrior's mind a bit. Katyusha wasn't by any means a cruel fae anymore, and while in the past she was certain she would have taken great pleasure in tormenting the fae, it was now much more important that when the pair left this spar she still had an ally and pack mate she knew she could trust if her life ever depended on it. In fact some part of her mind knew that she would be leaving this fight with a new friend, knowing this would be a test of both of their abilities, and a chance to learn and grow for both of them. Lifting herself from her haunches Katyusha would slowly stretch her back, then each of her hind legs while the other prepared herself for the fight. This morning Katyusha had made sure to wake up early, taking a light jog to prepare her body and mind for what she had planned. As the Delta dipped her head Katyusha would do the same, showing the fae the respect her rank deserved, and the respect she was shown in kind. But as the next words of challenge left the Delta's muzzle, all formalities of the event would be complete, and now it was time for the fun.
Nodding once to the Delta's challenge Katyusha would widden her stance, ears pinning back as she lowered her head "Very well. Let us try not to do anything permanent to each other. Deal?" she offered, patiently awaiting a reply. Once the answer was given the assault would begin. Without warning Katyusha would slam her paws firmly against the snow covered earth, launching her slim form forward in a flash of finely honed speed as she aimed herself right at the Delta's chest. Katyusha's empty silver orbs watched her opponents gaze carefully for clues to her actions as she charged fully at her, holding nothing back on this first attack. Katyusha was a strong believer in the principle of violence of action, reacting so violently towards her opponent she could simply overwhelm her with aggression. In less than the blink of an eye the distance between the pair would be closed, pinning her ears back and lowering her head Katyusha would open her muzzle wide, kicking off hard to launch herself the last few feet between them, her fangs aimed at the center of Breeze's chest, allowing her more room for a solid hit than if she had aimed at an outer extremity.

| Desmond had heard the call and made his way out of his den. He had been here for some time, just laying about and thinking what this winter would bring to him. He moved out from the shelter of his den and watched the Warrior, his Apprentice, challenging the female Delta for her title. This winter was already starting to be one of interest as the Alpha male rested his haunches right before the entrance to his den. He would watch them, just as he had done for Altair and Desoto. He would judge them on their moves, the way they handled the other fae, and a bunch of other things. He was curious to know if any other wolves would want to challenge anyone in the pack. Would Desmond be next? He doubted it. It seemed most of the wolves were pleased with his leadership. The only wolf he had hated was now gone forever, stuck within the lands of Erenyx. His eyes pulled his mind back to the scene before him. Who would win? |

| Her opponent flew at her, fast like the Delta had predicted. She kept her tail against her left flank and her muscles loose. The longer a wolf tensed his or her muscles, the more quickly they tired. The fae could not be avoided, although that didn't mean she would get the direct hit she would like. Instead, Breeze waited until the Warrior was close, then spun ninety degrees left and let her body fall. Her paws were kept solidly under her and her shoulders rose slightly to protect her neck. The grey wolf also tucked her head down as she remained curled in a crouch. She had made herself as small as possible, bracing for the impact and she waited for the other female to basically trip over her. The larger she-wolf knew the Katyusha's momentum would likely keep her moving in the same direction unless the impact was strong enough to stop her. The force of their collision caused pain to flare along her side, but she grit her teeth. It was better than being skewered by her opponent's fangs. Slightly winded, Breeze quickly sprang to her paws with her jaws wide. She would attempt latch onto a spot just behind one of her opponent's shoulder blades if she could, or snap at whatever was near her. The movement near the Alpha's den earlier hadn't distracted her before, although now she could detect the creamy brown pelt of their Alpha out if the corner if her eye. She didn't give him any greeting or signal since her mind remained on the fight. There would be time to chat afterward. (sorry for the delayed response! Let me know if this needs to be changed at all)____________________________________ Attack: Gets back to her paws to lunge and latch onto Kat's shoulder (whichever one she can), or anything within reach. (She hopes that Kat is stunned or tripped, but will attack regardless of what position she is in.) Defense: ears pinned, muscles loose, tail against her left flank. Drops into a crouch to (hopefully) avoid Kat's fangs with her right side exposed to absorb impact of her charge. Shoulders raised to protect her neck as she ducks her head down. Injuries: Bruising and pain in her right side, slightly winded. |
