"If you think reality is just living comfortably and following your own whims, can you seriously dare to call yourself a soldier? ""He speaks" He listens He thinks |
Taking orders had been just as easy as fulfilling them for the lad, though he couldn't quite say it had been a challenge to begin with, he thought in all honesty. He had had a role just as important back home, if not more so, alongside his mentor and dearest love, as it would make sense for simple tasks such as patrol and protecting the comrades of his new settlement to come easily to him. Having finally established his comfort level here, Xerentis noted the decrease in dreams of the past as of lately, and more based around the present, and often those of what laid ahead of him. Of course, no soul could predict the future, though he had met a few who had made some very interesting judgements that came true about him, however, the delta male believed it was a sign of adaptation to his surroundings and a milestone that marked a point in his life of moving forwards. Perhaps he would never see his commander again, nor his sister and friend, or the rest of his fleet - but he always had a feeling they were with him in spirit no matter where he wandered, which he found the most comforting.
Still, Xerentis devoted his minutes of peace in the day between shifts to stay within the clearing, meditating atop a lowly rock nearest to his den in hopes it would clear his mind of any nuisance. He had been practicing the exercise since meeting his unit as a wee soldier in training, having been told his temper would get him in lots more trouble if he wouldn't find ways to de-stress from it. Being that he wasn't the only one with that issue, the situation was handled through meditation, putting off time for himself so that it benefited not only his fleet, but made better for his performance as a fighter alone. Keeping a quiet mind meant for better concentration, and without that, he wouldn't be as strong and patient as he was today. He was proud of himself to say that in respects to those that trained him and taught him greater wisdom ahead of time. The brute could not imagine himself any different of a wolf than who he was in the present - the ideea almost scared him, but he tried to fear little in regards to what could've been done if things had gotten out of their paws. There were times in his past he would always look back on as a regret, while others were a blessing that led up to today. He'd never forget those that built him up to the wolf he is and is loved for. Eyes closed, he exhaled out the negativity, and brought in only positive vibes to fill his lungs. Silence was truly his best friend.

| Zephyr left the clearing that morning, with the noted that the prey pile was running just a tad bit lower then he wished. He always set his expectations higher than needed in order to make it so that the wolves of Pyrvanthros always had something to eat, while also, not wasting prey. All he needed to add to the pile to fit his needs was a hare or two. Maybe even something a bit different. But he would make that decision while out on his hunt. He had his small list of things he wished to do that day, first he would head to the border and check them for any intruders or anything suspicious. Then he would go on his hunt. And lastly he wished to check up on Paislee, he hadn't spoken to her since Spring and it was a bit suspicious. He didn't even catch her scent in the clearing as of lately. He hoped dearly that she was alright. But his duties had to come first. Zephyr made his way towards the borders for his small patrol, looking for anything that may be strange or something that needed to be reported. But he found nothing at the moment so he headed deeper into the lands until he caught the scent of a rabbit. He followed it until it was his chance to attack. And when he did, he got the kill and started walking back to the clearing to drop it off. It would be enough for now, that way he could go and see Paislee.
Zephyr walked into the clearing and straight to the prey pile with the kill held lightly in his maw, he dropped the plump rabbit on top and turned to go to Paislee's den when he noticed one of the Delta's meditating on a rock. Zephyr smile, for a while now he has wanted to get to know the other wolves in this pack especially Xerentis. So he took his chance to move over to where he was and spoke softly and with a little question. "Delta Xerentis, I hope you don't mind me joining you on this lovely day," Zephyr spoke with a respectful bow to the white brute. Zephyr held an happy look in his eyes as he kept a bit of distance between the two just in case he did wish to be alone. His large form holding a respectful posture to the male. After all, Zephyr may be Lead Hunter, but he still needed to show as much respect possible to those above him. Plus, it wouldn't feel right to the male if he didn't show proper respect to any wolf at all. No matter the rank, Zephyr always held respect towards all other wolves unless they showed that they didn't deserve it. |
