Family Reunion [Private] Empty
PostSubject: Family Reunion [Private] Family Reunion [Private] Icon_minitimeJuly 31st 2016, 19:34

The sky was a dazzling myriad of blended color as the morning sun slowly worked to crest the far horizon, a comely display of molten gold sinking into soft pink arching behind the stolid peaks of cathedral mountain. Petra wondered how the sky could look like that, what transformations it endeavored as night struggled into day. The notion was just one of the considerations wracking her volatile mind that morning as she padded across the parched earth, minute plumes of dust billowing up with each paw step she took. The arid land was relatively cool at the present moment, as she'd presumed it would be. She had been itching to scour around the neutral territories since the first time she set foot outside of the Erenyx camp, and her excursion through Isle de Muerto had not been quite as luxurious as she had hoped. Learning you'd been abandoned by your parents and sent off to another pack would have that effect, after all.

Agavos was an intriguing land, and there were plenty of interesting subjects to observe, but there were now times where the young pup felt she was not learning much of anything at all. Such cessations were a waste of her efforts, and subsequently fueled her indomitable desire to discover more. She would not forget what she had learned from Fel; intellect was as great if not more extensive a power than just force alone. It was, she had claimed, what had made Desmond a respected leader. Still, she was curious to witness what the alpha's cunning could do against her father's invariable might. Despite the beta's obvious distaste for Teren's tactics, Petra knew what she had witnessed herself in Erenyx. The massive brute was still, oddly, a wolf she revered and loved, even if he despised her, wished her dead, or didn't care at all. His indifferent resentment was the only paternal love she knew.

Her mother had always been more aloof than spiteful towards her, but it wasn't difficult to infer bitterness from such a situation. She'd been told Juno sent her off in order to save her life, that she had chosen to protect her and Memphis and merely hoped Teren would not repeat his previous will with his remaining sons. She was supposed to believe that was an act of love, and perhaps on some plain she really did, and she wanted to continue receiving herself, but the truth she had avoided had carved out an abyss inside her, a bottomless, unsatisfiable void. Could Juno really have loved any of them, really? Maybe she wanted to. Maybe she felt obligated to, somewhat. But it wasn't the same as what Ragnaar and Xymesina had. No... No matter what she desired, her mother could not have unconditionally loved pups she never wanted, ilk forced upon her and begotten from a monstrous situation.

She halted her sauntering as her thoughts continued to wander, her claws sinking slowly into the dusty earth. There was a sucking emptiness about her disposition, and she shifted her calm yellow gaze around the large, Earthen formations, her body relaxed and still. The raucous flapping of wings somewhere off to her right immediately caught her attention, and she turned her snout in the direction of the noise, her ears pricked in inquisitive alertness. A crow had perched itself on the edge of a low lying crevice in the rock face, a likely stolen morsel hanging from its thin black beak. From what she understood, these were sly raptors, intelligent enough to outwit its more beastly competitors. A sweet, soft smile blossomed on her maw as she quietly receded into the long dawn shadows, clinging to the stone wall just beneath it; she wondered if it could defeat her.

She could technically reach it if she reared up on her hind paws, but she knew there would be little advantage to that approach. It would merely dart off at the sight of her snout. She knew enough from the moth to remain unseen. She had to get it down from its perch without it noticing her position. Her bristled brown fur brushed quietly against the rock wall, and as she did so she noticed a minute amount of dust and pebbles eroding away from the wall at the contact. I see... The Earth is so dry it's crumbling away in some places. What's more, there was little rock supporting the ledge where the bird sat, and she quietly braced her front paws against the rock face, doing well to ensure she remained out of the crow's line of sight. She tentatively began to widdle away at the crumbling rock beneath it with her snout, slow and silent at first, minute streams of dust filing over her nose. The ledge held steady after several moments of this, and she knew her subject likely wouldn't remain long after finishing its meal. Consequently pressed and dully curious, she gave the weakened area a far harsher slam with her head, a notable throbbing perforating through her skull. The sound was loud, but the air splitting crack that followed was louder, and the crow, startled, immediately attempted to take flight as its perch abruptly dissolved beneath it.

She, in her electrified excitement, did not waste a moment in completing her strategy. Just as the crow swooped low above her, she launched herself as high up into the air as her little legs could manage, aiming for the bird's exposed throat. Instead she only managed to snag one of its legs, and a cacophony of infuriated cawing ensued as she and her target gracelessly tumbled along the dry ground. It was a messy skirmish, and her prey, in its plight, fought with an archaically violent will. It clawed at her face with its free talons, pecked malevolently at her snout and ears, flapped its dusty black wings in a frantic attempt at flight. Her flesh stung and bled where it was struck, and yet the fight enthralled her, and she smiled ecstatically as she finally slammed her paws down over the raptor's squirming body, triumphantly trapping it beneath her. "Wow... How lovely you look." She remarked sweetly as she stared admiringly over its poignantly terrified disposition, sincerely happy to notice what she would never fail to recognize as fear glazing its intelligent black eyes. She shifted her right fore paw up over its pulsing neck before resting it harshly upon the little bird's bony head, her yellow focus gleaming with an inquisitive valor. "You really are smart. Not even the lizard reacted like this. You're the first one to hurt me back. I want to see how pretty your mind is." She gradually applied more and more weight to her paw, relishing deeply in the animal's agonized screeching and the distant cracking emanating from its bones. It fell suddenly silent as her pad smashed flush into the ground beneath it, the crow's skull broken and scattered beneath her, a quick flash of scarlet spattering her legs, chest, and maw.

She stepped away from her work to examine the end result, an almost amiable smile easily pulling at her tranquil expression. The crow was clever, but she defeated it. It feared her, she had control over it. She was better than it. Suddenly the onerous void weighing down her chest seemed a thousand times lighter, and she was compelled to see more of what this intelligent little bird was made of, why it could fly and she couldn't, what color it was beneath it's feathers, beneath its skin. Did it look like the other birds that sometimes graced the kill pile when it was all torn apart? She was eager to find out.

WE'RE VICTIMS OF OURSELVES
tag: Petra // words: 1,297 // notes: Not very happy with this but I wanted to get something up so I hope it'll do!

Silence draped the lands as the early morning made its appearance. Thaddeus had slipped from the territories through the cover of shadows where the sun had yet to penetrate. Not that he felt one would care much to see him leave, it was no longer a secret that he spent most of his time as far away from anyone else as he could and the adults had long since given up on trying to educate him on how dangerous these lands were for a pup like himself. His long tail would flick and his eyes would narrow ever so slightly as he continued to move in nimble silence. Why should they bother anyway, if Teren didn't care -his own father- then they had no reason to, he was not their problem after all. It seemed in Erenyx that most had their own things to be dealing with most of the time, it was a very independent pack. Supposedly packs were supposed to act as one yet Erenyx seemed to have abandoned that rule, these were all very different wolves acting on their own. The dew covered grass left his fur damp and frizzy and he shook it irritably as he emerged from the cover of the trees into much more barren yet sun covered lands. He squinted his eyes at the sudden brightness as he waited for them to adjust and glanced around with interest. He had gone a different way this time, it had taken longer but he had all the time on his paws to find new lands it seemed. The grass here was much drier and had a yellowish tinge to it rather than the thick green grass he was used to. It was much more sparse and felt rough under paw. However that was the least of his interests for after a small distance the grass simply gave way to a barren dusty landscape that stretched far and sloped up and up. A slight smile curled at the corners of his maw as he stepped forward and sniffed at the crisp morning air. The breeze was stronger here and it left him feeling refreshed and pleased with his find. His paws ached but it was worth it, he would travel for a bit longer and then he would rest here and spend the rest of the day at this interesting spot.

As pleased as he was with this new interesting terrain he could not help but miss the cover of the trees behind him. He enjoyed having the comfort of being able to slip unnoticed into the shadows if needed, here his black pelt seemed to leave him painfully visible to the curious gaze of another. However he tried to ignore his slight unease as he moved briskly forward at a slight crouch. Before long he was amongst the towering pillars of earth and stone. He moved around slowly, taking note of everything and storing it in his mind. Thaddeus had a photographic memory and anything he came across that was worth remembering would remain in his mind down to the very last detail should he need to ever call upon the memory again. Of course he was unaware of this being a gift and simply thought it was a normal ability and he spent most of his time amusing himself by playing certain thoughts over and over again in his mind. He did find himself much cleverer than some though, he felt strangely superior to a lot of wolves despite him being a runt and leaving him physically weaker than some. But despite Erenyx seeming to rely on physical abilities, Thaddeus much preferred his intelligence to strength and pitied those largely built wolves that were so empty headed that they were focused on nothing but being strong and good at fighting. He was able to sit through any taunting of larger wolves feeling nothing other than smug inside for they were the idiots and he was the clever one and brains would always beat strength. Always.

Smiling slightly he slinked forward on nimble paws, keeping to any shadows he could find as the sun left him bothered and hot. He hated it. He liked the sound of Winter and couldn't wait to see it for himself. Most wolves seemed to almost fear it, they said it was hard to find food and sickness was more more common but he thought it sounded worth it. In all descriptions it sounded cool and quiet. No annoying sun, no shuffling from little creatures or rustling of vegetation. Just silence. It sounded perfect. A noise stole him away from his little daydream and the muscles beneath his dark pelt tensed noticeably. He let his rounded ears perk and tilt in the direction of the sound, nose twitching as he inhaled deeply. It sounded like a scuffle of sorts and then a brief silence before a soft feminine voice drifted on the air. It sounded extremely familiar and he felt his gaze widen with slight surprise. Thaddeus rarely felt surprised by much but if this voice belonged to who he thought it belonged to then it left him confused and he hated being confused. Petra? The name of his missing sibling floated through his mind as he changed his direction slightly and followed the voice and it wasn't long until a slightly familiar scent touched off his nostrils and he rounded a corner to find the pup crouched over the still form of a crow. He hadn't been sad when he'd been told Petra was gone along with a few other pups from Erenyx, he hadn't been happy either of course he just simply hadn't really cared. He did not feel all too attached to his siblings, all they did was remind him of how messed up his family was but he could not help but feel interested as to what had happened to her and how she was still alive.

He could still detect the familiar scent of just Petra clinging to her fur but it was masked with another unfamiliar smell that made his nose wrinkle but he could almost swear he'd smelt it somewhere before..."Petra." He stated coolly, voice as empty as ever but gaze glittering with slight interest. If Thaddeus had to pick a favorite pup in his pack it would've been Petra, she had joined him in being rejected by Teren. Him for being a runt and her for being a fae and she had seemed to be quite intelligent compared to her peers. Not as intelligent as him of course but she wasn't the worse. He looked at the shallow scrape across her cheek and then let his gaze drop to the bird. "Tough fight?" He asked with wry amusement, an emotion not usually showed by the brute but he didn't care too much around the fae and he stepped forward until he stood by her and sniffed at her lighter fur before leaning back with a frown. "What happened to you? and the other pups, did the same thing that happened to you happen to them? It seemed a weird coincidence that you's would all disappear on the same day." His pressing gaze was fixed on her as he narrowed it, tail flicking across the dusty ground. The smell of the kill by her paws left him suddenly feeling rather woozy and he realized with a start that it had been quite a while since he'd eaten last. He tended to forget such needs when interested by something however he refused to let his gaze wander and kept his position tense. He wanted answers over food, he needed answers. He'd presumed they'd been killed, seeing her here alive and healthy left him bothered rather than reassured. He hated being wrong.

Family Reunion [Private] Empty
PostSubject: Re: Family Reunion [Private] Family Reunion [Private] Icon_minitimeAugust 8th 2016, 11:34

A plethora of diminutive black feathers had scattered about the pup and her toy in their scuffle, and several of them clung placidly to her fur amidst the smattered scarlet. She thought them rather comely as she examined their plush down and, further up, the glimmering ebony that seemed to conceal hints of blue upon closer examination. The blood climbing up her legs and staining her chest and neck was even more alluring, and in the random, violent array, she began to glimpse, after a cessation of tranquil observation, an intricate pattern. The exterior of her malevolent act itself was a portrait of incredible beauty, a happy sight whose image brought her a peace and joviality not often known to the lonely little she-wolf. Subsequently she couldn't help but wonder what exquisite glamour resided beneath its friable skin, and she excitedly began the endeavor of ripping it open and apart, a vicious act of little concern nor delicacy.

She was drawn away from her task, however, when a quiet, easily familiar voice broke the lonely silence of the arid place, and she lifted her head from her disemboweled companion to glimpse a wolf she hadn't known she would ever see again. "Thaddeus?" Her voice was soft and almost cautious, as if she was not certain he was really there or if the euphoria of her accomplished carnage had simply conjured up a mirage. Her doubt died immediately when she heard his voice, drowned out in powerful surge of elation and longing, and she ran urgently up to meet him, her throat choked with an overjoyed relief. "Thaddeus!" She exclaimed as she immediately burrowed her snout under her brother's throat in a sisterly nuzzle, completely callous to the fact that her fur was soaked with blood.

"I missed you so much, you and Ambrose and mom and dad. I... I thought..." Her voice tapered off as she finally pulled away, an exuberant smile pulling at her maw as her chest swelled with a warmth and affection she was no longer practiced in displaying. There were no wolves in existence she loved more than her family, and, in Agavos, Memphis was all she had left of them. While she spread her affections evenly amongst her relatives, she was well aware of the distinction that tied herself and Thaddeus together. Of the four pups of their brood, their father had always devoted the most attention and pride to Ambrose and Memphis, The largest males. She was disgraced for her gender, and she knew, disdainfully, that she would be long dead had her mother not intervened on the day of her birth. Thaddeus had been born last, and was soon revealed to be much smaller than his brothers. He was still rather massive for a pup, but he was a runt compared to Teren's other progeny, and, consequently, had suffered much of the same indifference and distaste she had. Despite their similar circumstance, the two had diverged early on in their response to it. While Petra was still largely sociable and loquacious, always eager to please and impress those around her, her brother had taken to isolating himself from those who condemned him, remaining aloof and taciturn and relishing his solitude.

In spite of his will to remain alone, she had often shoved herself into his company and that of her other siblings, and it was easy to tell from even the briefest of moments that his intellect was of an astonishing kind. They seemed to share the notion of discovery through observation and experimentation, but their subject matter often differed greatly. Her greatest curiosity surrounded the garnering of power and influence; what he was intent on studying, she knew not. Perhaps it was not something so specific, but merely the mechanisms of everything there was to encounter.

She sat down beside him, her delighted grin contrasting eerily with the blood dripping from her maw and draping her paws, her eyes brightening at his mention of her kill. "Very tough. That's why I had so much fun." She claimed cheerily before glancing back at the mangled mess she had created, beaming at the sight of her achievement. "It's nicer that way, isn't it?" Her ecstatic smile waned somewhat as he asked what seemed to be inevitable, and she glanced down placidly at her paws for a moment, her claws sinking slowly into the dry dirt. "Mother sent myself and the others to Isle de Muerto to play. That's what she told us. It was a lie though." She tilted her head back up to look at her brother directly, her delicate smile a veil to the insatiable void that was swiftly emptying out inside her, the filling glory of her slaughter ebbing with much of her feeling. Did Thaddeus know, with all of his keenness, what Juno had done? Was he already aware of how she felt about them, what monstrosities they had all been predetermined to be, how inevitably ugly and stained they were? She was silent for a moment in her tranquil consideration, her disposition casually blithe and idyllic, an ominous contrast to what was welling up inside her.

"The truth is she sent us away. A group of Agavos wolves infiltrated the territory and took us to their pack lands according to her wishes, and they've been holding us there. They've been telling us all about how she did it to save us, that we weren't safe in Erenyx." Her smile deepened slightly as she stared off into the vacant distance, her tone imperceptibly casual. "She hates us, doesn't she Thad? She hates us, and she sent Memphis and I away, and kept you two there to save herself. She protected us to make herself feel better about her disgust. After all, what kind of mother hates her own pups, even if they were forced on her?" She remembered what Fel had told her, and she wondered if he was aware of that too, the potential Colosseum of death their father was prepared to thrust them into. "Father was going to have three of us killed, by the way." She stated the fact as a nonchalant aside, as if it had little affect on her attitude towards anything, and her simple smile never faltered. "We were all going to fight to the death, and only one from our litter was going to survive. Same goes for Braelyn's pups. It couldn't have been me. It probably wouldn't have been you either." The fact had nothing to do with their ability. They each could have trained to the point of invulnerability and it never would have made a difference. Their father never would have allowed the bane of a Fae and a runt to live past that day, even if he had to ensure that fate himself. She continued on without restraint, her usual affection for her family flowing uninterrupted. "How is everyone now, and mother and father? Have you and Ambrose started training? What have you been up to?" She ached to know that those she loved were alright, even if they had chosen to do so without her there, even if they preferred it that way.

WE'RE VICTIMS OF OURSELVES
tag: @Petra // words: 1,922 // notes: <33

To be honest the whole situation was rather amusing to the dark furred pup. Here he stood having found his sister who had been missing and presumed dead for the past month or so and here she was, as bright and bubbly as ever yet covered in the scarlet mess of yet another victim to die at her claws for what seemed to be her own amusement. However as much as Thaddeus had searched he had been unable to find any of the intentional cruelty his own father seemed so good at giving out in the small fae, her actions were all done with an odd innocence. She saw no wrong in her actions. It merely fed the curiosity that seemed to fuel her smaller body. However he did not get long to observe the mess she'd made at all for he'd just glanced in the way of the destroyed victim when the puzzled honey-like gaze of Petra fixed itself on him as she murmured his name in a cautious manner. He tilted his head to the side but said nothing as he watched her expression instantly switch to one of joy as she seemed to act as if she'd just woken from a dream of sorts. He let a small smile fix itself on his maw as she exclaimed his name this time however his gaze would widen slightly in surprise as she flung herself towards him in an affectionate manner. He stood stiffly, feeling awkwardness tingling up his spine as she nuzzled into him, despite all his knowledge crammed inside his little head he couldn't do emotions. Could never figure them out and this left him slightly daunted by them. Especially when it came to affection. He had no idea how to express it or how to act when another gave it to him. He bent his head awkwardly and nudged her on the top of her head in an attempt to somewhat return her gesture before she broke away. He glanced down at where some of her own mess had stained his dark fur scarlet and shifted his weight in slight discomfort but didn't bother bringing it up once again about how much he despised mess. He doubted she would bother listening to such petty annoyances of his. He tried to ignore the sticky substance coating his chest fur and leaned back on his haunches. Now that he took in the sight of her little mess his hunger instantly disappeared and was replaced with a slightly sickened feeling. It wasn't the whole death thing that phased him, it was the mess!

Thaddeus much preferred clean and quick bites or cuts, this mangled excuse for a kill left him feeling bothered and uneasy. It was just something about messes, they disturbed him. He flicked his ears as she spoke of missing him and Ambrose and their parents...he started suddenly, gritting his teeth slightly before forcing his posture to relax before she caught on. Their parents..., of course, she didn't know about mother...which meant he would have to be the one to tell her. Just great. He shifted uncomfortably under her gaze, so filled with love and adoration for her family that it left him feeling empty siding the dull pang of envy. It was unfair that she could love so surely. Despite the mess of their family she seemed to feel a strong connection towards them that Thaddeus couldn't find. He wondered idly what it would be like to care so much for others and was it a good thing or a bad thing. Not that Thaddeus had never cared, as much as he would deny it if asked. He cared quite a bit about Petra. He would find himself acting differently around her, speaking more and sometimes even laughing at her odd actions. He didn't act the same around others. Maybe it was because she'd never once judged him. He never really cared what others thought but it maybe it actually did have an effect on him. From a pup the adults hadn't trusted him either because of Teren or Juno's blood depending on who they were and the other pups had found him detached and odd. But Petra, she'd forced him to pay her attention even when he was trying to be alone and he supposed eventually he'd grown slightly attached to his sister. Realizing he'd been silent for ages he shook himself out of his mind and blinked a number of times. He presumed Petra was used to him getting lost in his own mind even when she was in the middle of talking sometimes yet she'd always seemed tolerant of it. He did know it was rude though so he blinked at her and simply stated back. "I missed you too."

Despite the emptiness in his tone Petra should be able to know he was being sincere for she knew the most about him, maybe the only one to know anything proper about him in fact. And the one thing Thaddeus never did to her was lie, so as hollow as he may have sounded it was honest and true. He lied to the adults when needed but for some reason he could never bring himself to lie to her. He wrinkled his nose at her statement of how fun it had been. "Well you could have been a bit tidier, how are you supposed to study anything in that mess?" He asked in a reasonable tone.

For now he remained silent on the news of their mother for he didn't want to distract her from his earlier question as she seemed to think to herself for a bit. As she thought he observed her keenly for any injuries or signs of distress. She seemed okay. He remembered finding out the pups were gone, he hadn't been devastated by it but while he hadn't cared about the others he'd been disappointed to hear Petra was gone. He never admitted it aloud but maybe he liked her company at times, without her he was utterly alone and although he liked it most of the time and grumbled when she tried to hang out with him...it felt oddly quiet without her pestering him and he felt what had to be loneliness at times. He didn't like it. He had always been confused by her colouring, she lacked both the dark pelt and green eyes of her parents. Instead she had a light almost earthen pelt and gentle honey coloured eyes that could flare with strong determination. He knew Teren had a brother of similar colouring but he knew none of Juno's family so it could be from either side. He took a step closer to her in a way that he hoped was comforting as she sank her claws into the dry earth and stiffened in obvious discomfort before she replied. He frowned, finding it hard to imagine such a thing was true but remained silent. Their mother had lied to them and had sent them to a dangerous place to play? But why had she been lying in the first place? His impatience to know more bubbled but he forced himself to remain silent as Petra fell into her own silence for a few moments. He could see she was distressed by this fact and he didn't want to push her. He felt her relax slightly and tilted his head slightly as she smiled and started speaking in a completely neutral tone despite the depth the words held.

His green gaze narrowed as she said what happened. Agavos...that explained the weird scent that I thought I'd smelt before...I've been near that border he thought as he listened with a hardened numbness to the words that continued to spill from her maw. He remained silent until she was completely finished before leaning back and shaking his head slowly. "I..." He trailed off, not completely sure what to say. "I'm surprised" He admitted at last, eyes downcast and holding a faraway look as he thought to himself. Had she hated them? Probably. He'd always felt like her actions had a strained forced feeling to them, as if she were trying her very best to love them. Like she felt like she should but all she could think of was how they were also half the wolf she despised. A flash of anger burned through him as he pushed his own claws through the hardened soil and grit his teeth. It wasn't fair! He deserved real parents, Petra deserved real parents. Parents that appreciated them and their specialties, who helped them develop themselves into something great. Thaddeus knew he had potential but it seemed that in this pack only he would ever see it, and maybe Petra and this frustrated him. Instead of real parents they were given a father who despised them for being different and a mother who only cared for them because she felt like she should and secretly could never forget they'd been forced on her. But then again, why had she chosen to save only Petra and Memphis. Did she prefer them? Why not send him rather than Memphis, it was him that Teren had tried to kill along with Petra. Him that would've been killed by his stronger siblings had they been made fight. And what was the deal with Braelyn's pups? He thought she'd chosen to have pups with Teren, had that information been false? He hated this confusion. Blinking a few times he fixed his pressing gaze on his sister once again.

"I don't get it. Why did our mother send you and Memphis? Why not me? I'm the bloody runt Teren wanted dead! I wouldn't have stood a chance in that fight? And what if he makes me and Ambrose fight?" He was angry and his words were snappish. Of course it wasn't Petra he was angered at and he didn't mean for his words to harm her but he forced himself to calm anyway and shook his head slowly in slight bewilderment at his own outburst. "I'm sorry....I think mother was scared of us though, maybe she feared we'd turn into Teren. It's such a messed up situation." He muttered the words bitterly, tail lashing. However it seemed Petra had moved on from the topic quicker than Thaddeus would've liked, he had so many more questions he wished to ask but he didn't speak over her as she asked the question he'd been dreading. His ears instinctively fell back against his head as he leaned back uncertainly. "Well I haven't been speaking to Ambrose but I presume he's alright, I've seen him around a few times and he's looked healthy enough. Father hasn't been around much lately, no doubt planning something awful it's all he seems to ever do." He muttered the words dully but didn't try to hide the contempt from his voice. He skipped over their mother for  moment to answer the second part of her question. "Of course we haven't, well I haven't anyway and even if Ambrose has I doubt Teren cares if I get trained. After all I am just the lowly runt" He grumbled out the words, tail flicking with disgust before he shook his head and fell back into a more somber state. This wasn't about him. "Listen Petra...mom...well....I haven't been told directly but it's been days since she's been around so I sniffed around and her scent ended abruptly at the edge of a great fall. I think....Petra, our mother is dead."

Family Reunion [Private] Empty
PostSubject: Re: Family Reunion [Private] Family Reunion [Private] Icon_minitimeAugust 9th 2016, 14:01

The diminutive pup's chest swelled slightly with an acute warmth as her brother returned her affirmation, not bothered in the slightest by his awkward austerity. She knew he wasn't extraordinarily extraverted; this was simply how he returned affection, and it was something she dearly missed now that she was isolated from most of her family. Aside from that, in her expansive world of constant yearning for love, even the scarcest of acknowledgements were appreciated, even if they did little to satiate her wanting. She giggled softly at his evident disdain for her work, an eerily triumphant smile falling on her maw. "I think we look beautiful with this color on our fur." She remarked easily before casting her idyllic gaze over the blotched red now staining both of their pelts, the salty tang permeating the air exacerbating her sense of glee. "And I've discovered quite a few things from my friend there. The canyon walls crumble away with proper force. His feathers are sturdier near the ends. His bones are hollow; can't really tell that without snapping them apart." Her tone was casual as she relayed the results of her brutal affair, and it was patent she saw her former combatant as little else other than a defeated enemy subject both to her curiosity and amusement. She stretched her blood drenched paws out slightly in front of her, relishing in the soft warmth of the slowly rising sun. "And perhaps, what's most interesting... That bird was afraid of me. That means he's conscious, on some level. You can't be afraid of death without knowing what it means to live." She knew her findings would interest him in some way or other, even if we was distressed by the mess. She hadn't ever really understood his discomfort with disorder, especially since his feelings contrasted so direly with her own awe and admiration for it.

She noticed her sibling pushing his claws into the dirt despite its subtlety, and she was aware of a shift in his disposition as the truth about what their mother had done sunk in. It was often difficult to gauge his feelings considering his usually reserved demeanor and lack of emotive intensity, but she'd learned to pick up on a few signs in the time they had spent in Erenyx together. Thaddeus was excellent at listening and perceiving in order to garner as much information as possible, but now his focus appeared to trail off into some unknown void. She couldn't tell what he was thinking, but something had definitely shifted within him.

Her eyes widened slightly as that which she could not previously define erupted from him in a furious torrent, her empty demeanor softening somewhat in concern. It hadn't ever even crossed her mind before, that Thaddeus could have been just as abandoned as she was. Yet the more she mulled the notion over, the more sense it made. Juno may not have dropped him off with a group of questionable strangers, but she had effectively left him to their father's devices. He was entirely right; he stood far less of a chance with their dear Teren and Ambrose than Memphis did. "Maybe she meant to rob our father of one of his heirs. Though, I don't really see how it would have mattered anyways. I think Ambrose was always Dad's favorite. Memphis always caused so much trouble. And, of course, there's Corruption to consider." Her tone was merely pensive, any hurt or despair she derived from the notion twisting up and extending the abyss inside her. It was true, anyways. Her father would never love her as much as the others, though that didn't impede her own affection for him. If anything it only accelerated her ambition to prove herself worthy of his admiration. Ambrose and Memphis had won it simply with their size, though her fellow Agavos sibling was much more difficult to control. He relished in causing chaos and disruption, and that was a trait she and him appeared to share. "The Agavos beta told me Mom thought Dad wouldn't have the fights if there was a shortage of pups, but whether or not she cared..." She offered her brother a diminutive shrug, a small, nonchalant smile plastered to her maw.

She actually laughed quietly at his examination, that Juno feared the offspring she'd created. Their mother was terrified of what they could become. It was such a tantalizing thought, because deep down, that was all she'd ever wanted. She longed for others' fear, her family's fear, because then... They would have loved her then. They would have played when she wanted. They would have talked when she wanted. They wouldn't have walked all over her like they had, or their pack mates had. They wouldn't have ignored her. She never would have been alone. But her mother had sent her away to prevent the usage of that influence on her, and she laughed, because it was incredible that she could have been missing such an opportunity. There was little else she could do anymore. "That's... Such a silly thing to worry about." She giggled softly, her sweet smile contrasting ominously with the ambitious determination of her gaze. "I don't want to be our Dad. I want to be far greater than our Dad."

She tilted her head slightly with keen interest as he recounted what she had missed in her absense, and she felt a small twinge of pride that it appeared she would begin training even before her oldest brother. Still, she wondered how Ambrose felt about his missing siblings, about the now exacerbated pressure placed on him and Thad. Of all her siblings, he had always seemed to be the most adamant to her presence. She and Thaddeus were kindred in their curiosity and status, and she was often bemused by Memphis's mischief, but Ambrose seemed to share their parent's indifference to her. It was a fact that profoundly dejected her. She offered her sibling a gentle nudge to his shoulder with her snout, her tone pragmatic as she addressed him. "Not training you would be a huge waste. Cunning is a powerful advantage." Her remark was based more on logic than casual reassurance; she knew meaningless sentiment mattered little to her brother. "The Agavos superiors want to start training us as soon as possible, I think. They called us altogether in a pack meeting in order to introduce us to possible mentors. Xymesina was pretty indignant though, and Ragnaar rushed to defend her from back lash when she called the alpha a fool." She stated in casual observance, quietly interested by her half sibling's dynamics. Braelyn's daughter's confidence and her children's connection to each other were intriguing considering her own situation. Although, it really wasn't difficult to spot the variable responsible for the difference.

Due to the fact that Ambrose has not told anyone about how Juno has died, these posts need to be changed. In the past, other information has been given out incorrectly, and they had to be changed. It would not be fair to Ambrose or those involved if this is not handled correctly. Please edit your posts.

Would it be okay to say that Ambrose came in, was telling them all, and Fel came in following Petra's trail and caught the last bit of the conversation (enough to know Juno is dead from the cliff fall)? We need to move on.
