nd so it would seem, that this newfound flaming hellscape that surrounded him, would not be his doom and his doom alone. Another figure, this one far lighter in colour than any other present found herself next to him. How she had managed to und up in the same death trap as he, he did not know. She uttered a concerningly calm greeting to Drogo, which did not bode well with the Guardian. Hers was another face he did not know, but just as with the delusional brute, her life did not deserve such a terrible fate, though death seemed closer now than it ever had been before. His eyes flitted away from the light grey figure, and back to Xora and the other male. He could see the pain in the Healers eyes as she hesitated, torn between leaving a member of her own pack to help that of another. But, she did as she was commanded by her superior, and she fled off into the distance after the ebony brute.

is focus now trained back on his own seemingly sealed fate. "Hush. The less you speak, the less smoke you will inhale." he barked, coughing as smoke crept into his throat, burning as it pulled into his lungs. Had their meeting been of different circumstance, perhaps he would have been kinder in his words, but kindness would not save them. Only focus, and quick action would give them any chance of returning to their respectful homes. The flames around them were encroaching upon them, tightening the already small circle in which they found momentary sanctuary from the flames. The tree that had fallen across their path to safety was only freshly burning, the flames higher than any other around them. Sparks flitted through the air, singing any fur they landed upon, and burning down to the skin upon his face where his fur was thinnest. A snarl ripped from his maw as a large ember landed near his right eye. Quickly burring his face into his leg in an attempt to remove the ember, his ears flickered when yet another voice broke through the wild crackling of burning wood.

lancing up, yet another ebony figure with emerald eyes stood on the other side of the flames. Straining his stinging amber eyes, he had to look twice to ensure it was not the same brute as before, but this one seemed far less delusional, and actually somewhat helpful. Drogo wasted no time in following the brutes lead, and began kicking what dirt he could up onto a section of tree that appeared to have been burning for some time already, so the flames had begun to dwindle, even if only slightly so. "Come! Do as he says!" he called to the fae, praying she had not inhaled so much smoke that she would not be able to make the massive jump over the flaming log that they would inevitably have to very quickly.

She watched silently as the others fled only after the dark coloured fae shot a few reluctant looks at the brute standing next to her in their death trap. He had an air of authority about him and she guessed he must be of some high rank. A sharp cough escaped her and her body shuddered with the effort of getting it out. She shook her head sharply, now was not the time to be thinking of things as foolish as ranks. The fire circling them would not care who you were when it swooped down to take your life so until they were safe neither should they. She felt like she was swimming through a fog, her brain feeling slow and slurred as she glanced around at the dancing lights surrounding them, feeling painful sparks spring at her yet luckily none had actually caught on properly as she shook them off fearfully. The faint delirious thoughts had dimmed slightly as she forced her scattered mind to pull itself together and focus but she didn't know how long she had until she'd start to slip away again as her gaze grew cloudier and sleepier and this fact scared her more than the actual flames holding them captive. It was something she remembered being told as a young wolf, in the days before she'd met Magnus where they were trained and prepared they used to talk about pretty much anything to keep their minds off the horror of their existence. Someone had experienced a fire before and had lost her parents, she'd said it was rarely the actual flames that killed you but the treacherous smoke. She started as her companion spoke to her for the first time, she'd almost forgotten he was there, and she pushed herself to her paws and shook her head indignantly. "I'm fine." She stated in a clipped and protective voice, letting her single eye shift itself from him to the destruction going on around them. Claudia had little time for trust, if it was one thing she'd learnt in the past it was that the more you kept to yourself the safer you'd be...especially when it came to brutes and being stuck in this fire with him now left her uneasy and suddenly she craved the solitude she'd had only moments before.
She was sensible enough to be scared but her earlier panic was fading and filling her instead with a weird acceptance and she wondered idly if it was the smoke messing with her thoughts, leaving her wanting to just lie down and let herself fall into an eternal sleep. It was not like she owed anyone anything, the only wolf she knew around here was Magnus and she supposed partially killian and Chiara but she hadn't spoken to them enough for it to mean anything and Magnus had Chiara and a pack now...their uneasy friendship from before was no longer of much importance. However never had she been one for giving up, she had not escaped her prison and sealed faith before only to end up in another and she pushed herself forward so that she stood closer to the male however making sure the distance between them was still decent. She let her gaze move slowly around the land they stood on, she noticed with a sickening feeling in her stomach that the circle was growing smaller by the second, the flames steadily closing in on their prey. A longing to inhale deeply came over her, to calm herself before the panic could return and jumble her thoughts but her breath was cut short with another hacking cough that made her sway slightly on her paws. Blinking furiously, she ducked her head and held it close to the ground to take a few short breaths. The smoke was everywhere now but at least it was not as thick down here. "The smoke isn't as strong down here if you're struggling to get a breath" She rasped at her company as she pushed herself back up to her full height and glanced briefly in his direction. However he was busy trying to remove an ember that had fallen dangerously close to his eye and she winced slightly at the memory of losing the sight in her own left eye, however he managed to save himself and she blinked with relief before glancing up as another voice broke through the crackling sounds of the ferocious fire.
He was dark furred and much smaller than her, in fact the other brute was smaller than her too but not by as much which left her as the largest of the group. Despite her gender this was not anything new to her, it was also why she'd been so prized in the pack that had held her captive and why she'd been chosen to be Guardian before Magnus had fled. Shaking her head to keep herself focused in the present she listened to the other's words, straining to hear him over the roar of Mother Nature herself. It was a decent idea she decided and she took a shaky step forward to where the earthen coloured brute had already started working on it. She felt woozy and unsteady from the lack of oxygen but was determined to be a help rather than a nuisance and kept herself as steady as she could as she stepped forward. She flattened her ears and let her gaze narrow as he called to her to help but held her tongue for now was most definitely not the time to let her sharp tongue get in the way of things as it so commonly did and forced herself to step by him and began kicking the dirt onto the targeted flames with as much strength as she could muster. Her muscles ached but she was strong and remained upright and steady as she helped the brute. They weren't dying here today.

Crow felt a huge weight lift from his shoulders when the pair of wolves he'd shouted to, seemed to hear his call. The darker colored brute first to join him in kicking up whatever dirt they could find on the flames. His voice barking out a command the other unknown wolf to help. Assured the pair were listening, Crow nodded to them. His eyes blinking rapidly against the sting of the smoke. " It's working!" He barks over the roar of the fire. As the flames upon the log, slowly started to falter. Shrinking in size under the tidal waves of dirt kicked upon it. Keeping his head low as he always did, even when not consumed by fire. Crow turned around so he was facing the pair, careful not to stand too close. He didn't want a face full of dirt to go with the smoke. Beady eyes flashing, he knew they needed to take their chance and leap the remainder of the flames. " Okay! Okay! Stop!" He shouts, his voice a rasp. His body feeling woozy from the effect the smoke gave. He knew if they did not hurry he would be rendered useless by the delirium. Then he would not be able to help his patients, who were surely suffering the negative affects of smoke inhalation and probably some nasty burns. Shaking his head, Crow blinks determinedly. Nothing would keep him from saving these wolves, nothing! They would not die, they could not die. Not like Sparrow had....
" Hurry leap over here to me!" He rasps, doing his best to raise his voice. His head still held low were the air seemed cleaner, his beady eyes narrowed against the smoke. Watching the two wolves, one dark one light. Hoping they would trust his judgement. For it was their only chance of survival. Coughing some, Crow stood back giving the pair room to make their jump for freedom. His nimble paws shuffling impatiently. His mind fighting the fog which came with the smoke. Scruffy pelt feeling singed and sooty, he ignored the discomfort. Completely focused on the well being of the wolves before him. They were all that mattered to him. I won't let them die! No! No! The voice inside his head hollered. Not like mother let Sparrow die, I am not her.... He thought, eyes flashing in the dancing shine of flames. He could feel his heart pounding in his chest, working twice as hard to pump oxygen throughout his body. The heat of the surrounding flames drying out the air, making it nearly unbreathable.
