| Mist shrouded the landscape, hanging in the air and clinging to the cliff and the thin layer of snow cloaking the waters far below. It was so thick Tye could barely see his own nose in front of him much less the assortment of shoddy, uneven ledges he was climbing up. He relied purely on his sense of feeling, testing each step carefully with a fore-paw before taking another. He glanced upwards, only able to see vague glimpses of the jutting ledges among slithers of rolling fog. Tye zeroed in on the ledge closest, braced himself and leaped through the air lithely. He landed silently, half-crouching to absorb the impact of the jump. Straightening, he looked down again. The fog hadn't cleared one inch even at the bottom. It was even thicker and the harsh winds that blew by made his journey even harder. It would sting his eyes and hurl pebbles or large rocks from above and fling flurries of snow into his face at random intervals. Tye continued up the ledge of the cliff with steady, strong strides, through the damp mist which hugged his robust, well-built frame and latched onto his black fur.
Tye lowered his head slightly, tail streaming out behind him as he quickened his pace. Though it was early afternoon and there was still a reasonable amount of sunlight Tye had no idea when the sun faded completely in these lands. He may as well have been walking blind if he stayed out until that late to hunt. Tye had dug the den at the clearing as the Alphess had said and had trekked out early next morning to explore. He had always liked mountains. Dangerous ones especially. Maybe it was unrelenting, unforgiving nature of them but Tye had seen this one and locked onto it like a hungry eagle on an innocent deer. Or maybe Tye had seen the cougar prowling about near the top and decided to test his strength. Cougars were excellent hunters after all. |

| Time had passed since her short trip to Helidos and her encounter with the warrior named Khane. He had left many thoughts in her mind of why things were the way they were and what she should do with her life. Contemplating the puzzle in her mind she set out early that morning for a walk into a area of the territory she hadn't explored yet. The soft breeze gripped at her fur as she set out, her tail high with confidence about her journey into the unknown. Fear wasn't an option for the lead warrior, as fear made her weak and weakness was unacceptable. No, instead pride that she had a home, her strength and a purpose in this world drove past her nagging insecurities and made her keep going.
A few hours past and soon Chiara found herself staring down the side of several large cliffs. Looking over the edge a few stray stones fell beneath her feet, tumbling into the black abis below. It made her catch her breath and take a step back, lest she suffer the same fate if she wasn't careful. just then the wind shifted and the scent of another wolf caught her in the nose. Bristling at his scent her hackles raised out of habit. Habit, her old habit would have been to cowar before whomever crossed her path out of fear. Now her habit was to stand her ground and proudly display her rank of Lead Warrior. Even without her rank she had confidence to stand her ground, even against a strange male. Walking towards the scent the mist shifted and revealed a black male by the ledge peering over. He had the faint scent of her pack which made her think he was new, but still worthy of her caution. "You" she barked, not caring if she startled him, "who are you? You smell of Erenyx yet I haven't seen you before. I am Lead Warrior Chiara by the way." She said, her voice harsh and void of compassion or any of that other stupid stuff.
ooc-Tye you can change your name to Warrior Tye now that you're accepted, you can also join the rank "Erenyx" thats found under "ranks" at the top of the page. |

| occ: Sorry, the computer ate my post two times.
Tye slowed down, turning slightly to his left as he smelt the scent of a female in the wind that blew by. It was similar to the one of the Alphess Esmeralda. As Tye was about to look the wind decided to hurl so much water from the lake below at him that he could've been mistaken for having taking a bath in it. He shook, making the fur on the back of his neck, sides of his face and around his shoulders stick out in careless spikes. Peering over the edge of the ledge he saw the owner of the scent, a black female with amber eyes and a whitish muzzle. Beta, guardian or elite? He mused to himself, noting her stance and posture. Not assertive enough for either of those three but too assertive to be a mere sub-ordinate. Perhaps...yes, lead. Tye's suspicions were confirmed when she spoke. In retrospect, it made her his superior. He made a mental note of her scent, her appearance and features. All important if he were to be an asset to the pack. It was good to keep a track record of who was who. His ice blue eyes were as cold as her voice when he replied back in a soft growl, "I go by the name of Tye. I'm just a warrior of your pack, recently accepted. As for why you haven't seen me before...perhaps you were too blinded by the fog here, Lead Warrior Chiara."
A tinge of sarcasm mingled with respect for her even as he growled he still kept his tone neutral, deferential with his tail down and head bowed slightly. He watched her impassively, fur still damp from the water and dripping droplets. |

| Wind ripped at Chiara as she stood by the edge of the cliff, its sheer void tugging at her to slip a bit to meet its end. Glancing down again the fae felt dizzy as its endlessness pulled her in, promising a long a drawn out death, just as the rocks felt as they too succumb to its depth. Pulling away from its song she turned her golden eyes to the brute before her as he addressed her. His respect for her made her smirk, brains were an improvement for a male instead of one that thought solely with their reproductive organs. Lowering her hind into a sit she acknowledged his attempt at sarcasm with a flick of her ears. "Perhaps I haven't met you before because you choose to be wandering about on your own instead of contributing to the pack. My yes I feel so horrible not to meet a selfless and committed member such as yourself, please forgive me." She teased, batting her eyes as her own sarcasm leaked through. He may be smart, but he wouldn't leave unscathed if he thought it was her fault not to have met before.
Another blast of wind hit her and sent her head back at a uncomfortable angle. Her time here was numbered as it was growing dull, though she was still curious as to his reason for being here. "So warrior Tye, enlighten me on your presence here. Do you tire of the pack so quickly that you would risk your neck on these cliffs. Or perhaps you have a greater purpose for being here, a curiosity that can't be tamed within the pack grounds; please, do tell." She cooed, her voice dipping again into a tantalizing mix of flirting and suspense. Of course he didn't interest her in the least, but the game was just as fun. |

| Tye's lips twitched into an almost smile at her response. Another kindred soul, how pleasant. He straightened, sniffing the air as another blast of wind hit them and caught the scent of moisture and seawater along with fresh meat which he expected. Glancing back down at Chiara he saw turn her head, probably not of her own will. The wind was a harsh mistress after all. He flicked his tail idly, impassive to the tone in her voice. He had heard it before many times and he knew how the game was played. But Tye wasn't really a player.
"I'm here to selflessly explore the lands of my new pack so I can hunt and defend more efficiently. This is my first stop, the next will be whatever is closest and so on and so forth. One can't hope to serve the pack when one doesn't even know the lands which he is in," He responded with a straight face, keeping her eyes locked with hers. The crunching of bones ripped through the air and a piece of torn deer leg tumbled down past them, disappearing into the fog below. There was faint splash as it hit the water. He looked up near the top of the cliff where the fog was much thicker and said, "And there's a puma that I wanted to play with. You are welcome to join if you're not scared." |

| Chiara listened to him board and yawned slightly as he spoke to her. In reality she cared very little to why he was out here or his reasons behind it. The dark fae herself was up here to further explore the territory and perhaps catch a few rabbits, but definitely not puma. During her year as a loner the fae had found a lone puma cub and raised it for a week or so before finding it's mother. In a twist the mother puma hadn't attacked the wolf for being with her pup, but instead let her pass unharmed and vanished with her cub. Since that day Chiara had never intentionally harmed a large cat or sought them out for the fun Tye had in mind.
Unwilling to let the male know that Chiara rolled her eyes at his request and shock her head. "I don't fear puma's, but I have hunting to do that doesn't involve me losing fur to. I saw some mountain goats up the mountain a bit if you'd like to help with them. Besides they are better eating than cat anyway." She said, turning to leave and not caring if he came or didn't. Her tail twitched behid her at the urge to climb the steep mountains. Goat would be hard to catch, but with a helper they might just catch some. |

| In truth Tye had only wanted to play with the puma, to tease and test it to see how angry it could get. Tye figured if he could condition the creature to react negatively to a certain kind of teasing it would be useful in the future if they ever needed food. It was probably up there, gorging on its kill. With two of them one could bait while the other could steal its food. Since pumas didn't finish their food that quickly they could work together to take it. He looked up near the top where the puma's tail flicked out of sight. The crunch of bone could be heard. Tye looked back at Chiara, considering her words. She was right. Though Tye would've liked to carry his experiment out Chiara was his superior and he had seen that brief moment of vertigo in her eyes just then when she had looked down. Perhaps it would be better to accompany her in the off chance that anything happened. If anything, he could also see how she hunted.
With one last lingering glance up at where the puma was he walked after her through the heavy mist, treading carefully on the rocky terrain. The waves lapped up with a rush at the sides of the mountain and evening shadows cast misshapen, deformed shapes sprawling across the sides. It was getting slightly colder. For not the first time in his life Tye was glad to have his dense coat of black fur, particularly the layer across the back of his neck and head and sides of his shoulders. |

| After a few steps up the steep terrain the black fae looked over her shoulder to see her equally dark friend following her. The sight made her smile briefly before returning her upward gaze at the cliffs above. Tales of how goat hid themselves from the wind in crags in the rocks seemed plausible, so the lead warrior figured it would be smart to start there. Above them was a crag in the rock that sheltered itself from the raging wind, perhaps something was hiding in there? Jumping from rock to rock Chiara nearly lost her footing at one point and sent some rocks down on the brute below her. Fearing for him she glanced down quickly and barked a warning to him, hoping he didn't get hit.
Continuing on the fae soon came to a small ledge just below the crag above. Here they could plan out what to do if a goat was hiding in the crag above. "Ok I'll go this way and scare the goat out if its in there, can you climb higher and maybe jump on it from above? They have horns, so I don't think a head on attack would be wise at this altitude." She suggested, open to his ideas as well.

| Shadowing her, Tye kept his eyes on her. The ledge was getting narrower tapering off slightly. One wrong move and it spelled a fall to the rocks below with broken bones. He watched her jump lithely and followed her movements, making sure he had settled comfortably on the rock before jumping to the next. He was about a feet away from her, the only thing he could see was her tail swishing through the air as she jumped. As he was about to leap to the next rock he heard her bark at him and paused, looking up questioningly. His paw was raised, making to jump to boost her back up onto the rock when he saw her almost slip then she caught herself. Close. A few sharp-edged rocks crumbled down at him, shaken lose from the foot-hold. He moved his head to the side. The rocks skimmed down past the side of his head brushing his neck and plopped into the waters with a faint splash. He glanced back to see her heading up to a ledge and followed onwards, steadfast and unfaltering. He stopped, leaping on one of the slopes below the ledge near her.
There were no signs of any goats. Tye raised his muzzle to the air, sniffing. He could smell something like rain, the icy coldness of the water from the mist and Chiara. He nodded in response to Chiara's words and said, "Alright but maybe it's better if I scare it out. I'll be at a higher level and it'll be easier for me. If the goat charges at you out of fear there will be little room to move to do anything and that would be dangerous. I'll bark at you twice as a signal to tell you it's there. Then it'll get startled and have all its attention on me. You can back it into a corner and while it's distracted I'll take it down." |

| Chiara liked his plan and nodded to Tye. Pulling herself up onto the ledge she found a rock large enough to conceal herself behind. Next to the rock was an alcove that would aide her in trapping the goat if the plan worked. Crouching low behind the rock she tucked her tail in and steadied herself on the narrow ledge, waiting for his back. The pair were about a hundred feet up, one wrong ove would spell disaster for either wolf. Braving another glance down the lead saw a small river in the canyon below them, not yet frozen over. At least if they were to fall there would be a chance at survival if they landed in there, but she hoped it wouldn't come to that.
The wind shifted and from her view the cave's entrance was easily visible. No signs of goat could be picked up on, but a faint musky order could now be smelled, could it be the goats? |

| Tye hopped from the ledge onto the one above and almost fell off as part of the ledge he was on broke off like bark from a tree. He hit the edge of the ledge harder than he should have, grunting and hung there for a few seconds his upper body pressed against the ledge while the claws of his back legs scraped the rock. With a massive heave he pushed the rest of his body upwards, rolling onto the ledge and stood up shaking his fur free of pebbles. He walked to the left to the opposite side, keeping his ears pinned and head and tail low. The ledge led upwards to the cave, curving. He could smell something, like damp fur and musk. Sure enough when he got closer he saw the baby goat standing there, chewing happily on a shrub that was growing. It was slick with rain and mist. He smiled humourlessly to himself. All the caution had been unnecessary after all. He edged closer, his form throwing grotesque shadows across the walls. As he did he paused, the thoughts of the parents flitting by. Where were they? Probably somewhere up the top. They had better be fast. Tye hoped Chiara was ready. He let out a low growl, rumbling in his chest.
The goat raised its head nervously. Tye barked this time, loud and unrelenting. He sprung, jaws snapping at the goat's tender neck. It let out a bleat and backed away on quivering legs, its large eyes. Tye pounced at it. It darted away, crying. Tye barked again, fur raising on the back of his neck and head until they looked like glinting spikes, teeth bared to the fullest. At this point he figured he could have just taken the creature himself but Chiara was expecting him. They may as well finish this as quickly as possible. The longer it took the longer the parents had to come and save their kid. |
