| Topaz colored eyes took in the new surroundings as the terrain here, was far from being as it was in the mountains. The lower altitude had barely bothered him, but it was clear, down here, the air was more pure. Oxygen was heavier, and he was in a completely new terrain that he had not grown up around. He had spent over a year trying to track down Cliché, his cousin. After the Tenebris pack fell apart, there was nowhere else for him to go. He had watched as his Alphas had been surrounded by fire, and he hadn’t even moved a muscle in order to save them. In fact a part of him felt relief, his parents were gone, his brother was dead, and so was his sister. The Alphas were dead too, due to him. All the other wolves had scattered, leaving Malfurion without anyone. While he would have loved to take credit for starting the fire that burned his pack’s lands, it was not due to him. But to him, he took it as a sign that a higher power was on his side. Everything had gone according to his plans, and he was left without any regrets.
He inhaled, taking in the sweet smell of the wildlife surrounding him. Birds chirped from the branches up above him, and he could hear the tapping of a woodpecker somewhere off to his right. Small animals scurried about, as the tall wolf sauntered onward. His head held high as he walked, as if he thought somehow he was better than most. Even in his loner state, he was not unfit to join a pack. In fact, all of his plans and how they had turned out were all secrets. No one knew he had let the Alphas die, or that he had killed his siblings. It wasn’t like him to go announcing such things either; he would let them remain buried. They would be locked away for no one to ever find out, not even his cousin Cliché. He had always been the more heartless and conniving of all of his siblings. And those he had done wrong, he made sure they’d die taking the secrets to their graves. As he approached the border, he smelled something. He stopped, sniffing the air again, as scent upon scent was taken in.
He found it again, the smallest fragment of Cliché’s scent. He smiled, but it was a sinister one. He let out a long, low howl asking for acceptance into the pack. He did not bow, or lower himself immediately. It wasn’t until a couple of minutes went by that he lowered himself into a shallow bow. He was not afraid of the Alpha, but he would show respect. No matter who came, he’d show respect. The only way for him to gain what he truly desired was to go along and play along. No one had to know that secretly he was not one to take orders. He could pretend, and by pretending, he could adapt. He could assimilate once more into becoming perhaps a warrior for the pack. Something he was good at, but what he really wanted, was power.
That alone was what drove him; it wasn’t to be a good little soldier, or to have a family. He was not interested in loving another wolf, or having friendships. All he wanted was ultimate power. But no, he wasn’t going to challenge anyone for it, no, he was far too subtle for that. The male kept his head down, and he looked at the forest floor beneath his paws. What was he going to say to Cliché when he found her? He didn’t expect her to be too welcoming, and then again, maybe she would be happy to see him. In his eyes, she was always his ‘true’ sister. Naisha had been nothing but a spoiled brat, and he was glad he had gotten rid of her. His brother had also just been an obstacle. He was content to love no one in the world as much as he loved himself. He truly was a selfish narcissist to the end. And just like Illidan had said, he would always be the slipperiest of snakes. |

| Thin and lean legs that ended in small paws traveled away from the main pack lands. It had been some time since the she wolf had met another at the border, but she felt the urge that morning as Magnus had taken his role to watch over Teren. Her brood was out training and she was still minus an apprentice of her own to torture, thus she felt it alright to patrol and meet new members. The fall weather was slowly turning the pack lands a multitude of colors instead of the common greens of spring and summer. Dry heat made the landscape crisp and dry as little new growth emerged and what little there was to start dying before winter set in. Below her paws Chiara stepped through a blanket of fallen leaves, their crisp breaking sounds echoing against the silence that had fallen over the western border. It hushed the lands like a whisper, teasing any sound to break its silence, to show itself and reveal it's presence. Chiara didn't fear giving away her position, however. She was confident in her abilities of defending herself without being cocky of the possibility of running away from a potential danger. Anything she faced out here was simply an obstacle, one she could either destroy or avoid if need be. Smelling the air as it blew in her face the scent of a newcomer hit her before the sound of his howl did. It smelled and sounded male which made her straighten up in anticipation. She knew Teren preferred males to faes so the thought of pleasing her Alpha flashed in her mind. Chiara was not seeking praise, but a happy leader is one she didn't need to fear as much she figured, pressing forward.
Coming closer to the border Chiara spied the male, bowed before the scent line in a premature display of respect for any who welcomed him. It was a relief from the string of cocky and over confident rogues she had met in the past, still she was wary and ready to demand respect just the same. Curling her tail high over her spine her feeble attempts to appear large were all for not. Standing almost four inches shorter than him and less muscular she knew she didn't look like much other than just another female. Not trying to over do anything she didn't modify her voice or puff out her chest in a silly attempt to act tougher. She simply walked up to him, looking him over, before standing in front of him and speaking authoritatively. "I am Chiara, Guardian to the Alpha Teren of the Erenyx pack. I'm guessing you are here to ask for entrance into my pack, who are you and why should I allow you passage here?" She questioned, her gaze level with his as his sloped posture put him at an even level with her. |

| Malfurion who had been bowing looked up just long enough to see a smaller wolf approaching. He sniffed the air, and while she was down wind of him, he could still pick up a small fragment of her scent. The wolf was a female, and on the inside he smiled a little. He could be charming, and perhaps everything would go more smoothly than anticipated. My calling is Malfurion ex Guardian of the Tenebris Pack. I believe my distant cousin Cliché, resides here, m’lady Chiara, Guardian to the Alpha Teren of the Erenyx Pack. He bowed lower, briefly before straightening up once again. He was at his full height again. He looked into her eyes for only a few seconds, as if he were reading them. And in a way he was, she was not afraid. He could tell that, and she was not one to physically demand respect, no instead she had the self confidence to emit a vibe, demanding respect. He looked just passed her, but not into her eyes except when he spoke. My old pack lands burned up in a horrible fire, m’lady. My brother was killed in the fire. The Alphas went missing, and everyone scattered. I did my best to track down everyone but, in the end I followed Cliché. I lost her trail over a year ago, and luckily managed to find it a little ways back. The tone of his voice showed sorrow, yet it was but a trick. He was not at all sorry for any of it, in fact, it had all gone to his plan. The fire was not a part of his plans, but it had sped things up.
He closed his eyes as if he were attempting to shut out haunting memories. Again, it was just an act. I was a Guardian for the pack, and I blame myself for what happened. I could’ve stopped it all. Alas, all my attempts failed. And here I am, searching for a fresh start, a new life, a place to call home. If you are looking for more warriors for you and your Alpha’s pack, then look no further. As I stand before you, willing to give my word to fight for your pack, m’lady. Would you do me the honor of accepting me? He opened his eyes and bowed then, his nose nearly touching the ground. His words laced with admiration and respect for her, but it was all just a lie. He could walk the walk, he could even talk the talk, but all he wanted was power. He knew it was a long road ahead, but that didn’t mean he couldn’t try. He smiled slightly, but it was hidden from her view. He wanted to laugh, and on the inside he was. If she in fact fell for his manners, he’d have a good chuckle about it later. A slippery snake he was, and Illidan had known it all along. The wind picked up then, and the fae’s scent was pushed toward him. He inhaled, and would now remember that scent anywhere. As he listened though, the birds had stopped chirping so loudly. The woodpecker had flown off to a further distance.
It was like a sinister foreshadowing moment. He quit bowing after a few, long moments. His dark face almost made it seem like his topaz colored eyes glowed, as he looked around them. He was not expecting danger, or anything of the sort, he just chose to be more alert than most. He was totally calm, even in a totally different terrain than he was used to. He was not afraid of Chiara, but he would show her the respect she deserved. It bothered him very little. He was just going through the motions, saying what he had to, to get by. He was not sucking up, or flirting, or doing anything other than what was expected of a lone wolf at a border. He just had a bit more tact than most, and his words were a bit more polished. He had spoken to his Alphas so often that their manners, and the way they carried themselves had rubbed off on him. He did not think he was better than other wolves, he knew it. But he would never let those words pass his lips. It was in the way he carried himself, it showed, he knew he was of importance. And while he may be a stranger of the pack now, he would do all he could to become a friend to most if not all the wolves. But it was all for merely personal gain. |

| His immediate display of submission and overall respect threw her aback slightly. She seemed to almost question his quick surrender to her, like behind his charming and polite exterior stood a conniving demon. Perhaps she was too suspicious about others and always tried to weed out the rotten apples, but something about this male made her fur stand on end. Not in a bad way, however, he simply intrigued her. Like a pawn that could one day rise above the ranks and be a good tool for her own wishes. Yes, she had plans of the future that none knew of even her beloved mate Magnus. They involved power, triumph and above all vengeance. Having little left in the world that ruffled her feathers the wrong way her plan was a long way off from being started, but still it wouldn't hurt to start recruiting allies worth her time. Not one over by his polished talk or instant admiration for her she circled his form as he bowed before her, spilling out his drama filled past. Twas a sob story her ears were used to hearing and it seemed almost too perfect coming from his mouth.Unsure why she doubted him she brushed it off slightly, but it cept nagging at her mind not to trust his sugar coated words right off the bat.
Continuing to circle him like a vulture would a rotting carcass she came to stand at his flank, her tail twitching by his nose. Smirking at him her amber eyes lit up as the tip of her tail poked his nose. "Tell me more noble brute. Such a sad tale you weave of your past there surely must be more horrors in your past." She probed, urging him to speak more. Hoping to catch him in a lie or rest assured her gnawing mistrust of him. "Besides aiding my pack what is it you hope to find here. Most come for a fresh start or to find their happily ever after, but I sense you are searching for more then my dear friend Cliche." She hissed, walking closer to his other other and ear. Speaking in a raspy whisper her teeth clicked together as she continued. "Tell me the real reason you fled your home, for I doubt it was really guilt that led you astray. You seem well put together but I sense cracks in your armor just as many before you. You have something you are running from, what is it? Did another brute claim your mate? Did the Alphas demote you for talking back with that silver tongued mouth of yours? Come tell me your secrets and I shall tell you of mine." She hissed, her amber eyes trained on his for any sign of realization that her words proved true. In reality this game she played was all an act, but either way it played out would be to her benefit. If he was lying she would get the truth out of him. If he was truthful she would find that out as well and calm this urge within her of the latter. Now she waited for his response, her teeth clicked one final time in anticipation. |

| Malfurion raised an eyebrow at the female. She had not fallen for his words, but he was not shocked. No, she was smart. She was probably one of his kind, conniving and always planning. Always a step ahead, the question was, would this end in a tie or would one be a step above the other? His face looked horrified by her words, but it was an act. He was not going to spill his secrets to her that easily. No. But her tail in his face was not helping his mind, and while she was this close to him that was by far not helping him either. When he breathed in, all he smelled was her, and he tore his face from hers. It almost looked as if he was sad, just what he wanted. My sister died at a young age. I was separated from my parents. I know not what you wish to hear from me... He looked at her, but even now he could see she was not convinced. He dropped the act then and smiled, sinisterly. Her jaws snapping in his ear did not make him flinch, he only let out a low chuckle. You want the truth, and I would like to enter. Seems we are at an impasse. No? He tilted his head, looking at her. Something in his bones told him, she would be useful in an alliance. Perhaps somehow she could be of use to him. He thought it over for a second and stood up. He no longer bowed, or showed submission.
Fine then, I shall tell you the truth. My sister was always the favored among my siblings and I, and my brother and I despised it. I had her go out one night as pup to hunt for a rabbit, a bear got her. Over time my brother fell into a bout of guilt and wanted to out me to the pack. I threatened him with his life. The pack after a year or so, became separated in a blizzard and my parents, who were once the elites were lost. My brother and I were then promoted. I moved on to Guardian, and he killed a pup, in broad daylight in front of me. I outted him, he became an Omega. Over time he became increasingly ill in the mind, and just before all my plans over the years could come together, a fire struck out on the packlands. The fields and trees went up in flames, and it began to close in the pack. Most scattered and tried to help the Alphas and pups, while I... He chuckled wickedly then, and something in his eyes showed his true insanity. He continued laughing for a few seconds before he continued I...I went looking for my brother. I found the little coward up above us on a ridge fleeing, and to finally rid the weight I carried, I threw him from the top into the fire below. As if by luck, a tree collapsed on him, ending him. My cousin, Cliché had already left by this point, and I began to track her. Alas, a burning tree had fallen and I had to go around it. As I did so, the Alphas were trapped in a ring of fire. And in stead of helping them, I just watched. I had let them die, and I do not really regret it. I am simply here to meet up with my cousin. You see, Cliche was always the one I considered my true sister. Not the spoiled brat, Naisha who was my sister by blood.
He sneered at Chiara then, So now that I have shared my little secret, if you were to allow me to join, you could consider me an ally. As I sense, you have some tricks up your paw. Your eyes show you too, have watched plans unfold in your favor. No? Would you be so kind as to share your story with me, m’lady, so that I can be sure we may in fact be, allies? He tilted his head, and he knew his words were far too happy sounding. That was okay, as he was not sad over his past in the slightest. His parents, sister, and brother were not missed. In fact, losing them all set him free in a way. He was no longer held back from doing what he wished. It was true though, he was really here to see Cliché. But he would take advantage of the opportunity. Again, maybe, just maybe luck was on his side. As out of all the wolves, perhaps one fit to be a ‘friend’ had come out to meet him. He smirked slightly at his thought, and he shook out his pelt as he was no longer going to bow. She had asked him the truth, and in return, he wanted his request. Only a fool would say no to such a request. Allies were not easy things to come by, and one such as himself, even rarer. He began to imagine the things they could do, the people they could turn. It was an exciting experience, to perhaps, maybe, have met someone as sneaky as himself. |

| Chiara held back a snicker as she watched the male falter before her. So, her hunch was correct in fact. His noble tail of guilt was in fact a lie all glossed over with fake emotion and smooth words. Now the real story came out and the fae saw the true demon this male was. His words held truth now and now ill feelings fell over the Guardian as she listened, taking in his ill deeds and dark past. Not innocent to bloodshed and murder in her own past she remained silent and didn't immediately pass judgment on him. His voice began to turn as some twisted emotion took over him as he spoke of his killings. She was not in shock, but instead awe that he had risen from the ashes just as he did and had come here. She did question his intentions with Cliche, however, for she too viewed the fae as her sister given their mates deep friendship. She would question this later for it was her turn now to tell of her past. When the question was directed at her she didn't hesitate to tell him her secrets. With nothing to hide anymore and most of the pack knowing the origin of the large X shaped scar over her left eye it meant little to her to tell a stranger. She wished for allies and if it meant acquiring another, so be it. "I thank you Malfurion for your words of truth. I shalnt turn you away for your past, but instead take you up o your offer of an ally. I too have ulterior motive to my lovely existence here, but I won't bore you with my future plans. Some I don't even know at the moment for with every page of the book of Chiara a new plan or two forms. No, I shall not tell you of those things but instead of my past just as you have graced me with now." She said, walking to sit in front of the male.
"The strong, clever and modest fae you see before you was not the wolf I always was. Once I was a scared and submissive fae with fear drilled into me by my sexist father and power driven pack. She wolves were treated lower then dirt and I watched as my mother and sister both fell to my father's jaws for standing up to him. I too fell to him and earned half of my facial scar before he raped me at eighteen months and spawned my first litter. When I miscarried he sought to kill me for embarrassing him and I fled, soon finding the weak smelling pack south of us Helidos. There I fit in somewhat, though still a sniveling coward and met a male I grew attracted to. The day we were to be mated my father tracked me down and killed him before my eyes. I snapped after that and slaughtered my father, beheading him and spilling his blood all over the land. I promised my dying mate I would find happiness and as I set out to build a new life I slashed my face open, defiling my father's scar and taking the last shred of control he held over me. I soon found Erenyx and devoted myself to training, a changed wolf, one who knew no fear. I soon met my now mate, but again luck was not on my side. The Alpha I had served for so many seasons demanded I whelp his litter instead of my mates to solidify us in the coming seasons. Fearing for Magnus's life I agreed, secretly vowing to murder the Alpha when he tried. I never got the chance for our current Alpha beat me to it, taking over the pack and earning my respect. I now have a family and a purpose in this pack. I hope in time you too develop a purpose to be here." She finished, her eyes never leaving his.
"Swear your allegiance to me and this pack Malfurion and I shall grant you entrance. I'm sure you will make an excellent warrior with your past acts and do not doubt your abilities. Know this, however, you shall always be truthful with me and I shall do the same. When the time comes for my plan to take effect I shall confer with you, if you go against me I won't hesitate to kill you." She sneered, her voice changing drastically from the tone she used for story time. She would have none stop her from her ultimate goal, she would kill any who got in her way. She awaited his reply for it was now or never for him. He would either swear himself to her and Teren or run from her and her crazy stories, she didn't blame him. She had a past darker than most, but had grown from it and gotten better from it. Her past made her what she was now, she wouldn't change that for anything. |

| Malfurion listened to her, and smirked at her words. At least he wasn’t going to be turned away. He liked this. Finally he’d get to see Cliché, and his mind suddenly shifted it’s focus to that thought. How would she react? Would she even remember him? How could she not? He had played with her when she was but a pup. He had let her climb all over him when they play fought, and he had been so gentle with her. Had it been his own sister, Naisha, he’d have rung her neck for wanting to play with him. But, Cliché, No, he could never do that to her. She was the light in his eyes, his true sibling. He shook his head slightly as he heard Chiara talking. Sadly, he was hardly interested in her history. Everyone had bad things happen to them, it was how you dealt with it, that made you either strong, or weak. Well spoken, Guardian Chiara to the Alpha Teren of the Erenyx Pack. It seems we both have plans here that we do not wish to disclose at this time. I can respect that. He nodded slowly, and he was glad she wasn’t trying to force him to submit. He did not like submitting, it made him feel weak, and as a soon to be Warrior of this pack, weak was not something he wanted to be labeled as. He gave a small bow to her, in respect before straightening back up. He was taller than her, but that was no surprise to him. Height meant very little, it was how smart, and how quick to act someone was that counted.
He looked at her in the eyes for a second before speaking. I swear my allegiance to you, m’lady, Guardian Chiara, and to the Erenyx Pack. He smiled, but his eyes showed his inner demon. Plans, he liked this. As with this, they were now allies. And she could call on him for whatever deed she wanted done. Call on me for anything you wish to have carried out in secret, and I will do it. No questions asked, m’lady. He didn’t blink as he said the words, as he was being honest. If she wanted something done, he hoped he could be of use. He preferred to take action over just waiting around. Hence why his siblings were dead, when he had a chance, he took it. Oh, and this little talk of my past, M’lady. We tell this to no one, hm? Not even my favorite little cousin, Cliché. She need not know. What she doesn’t know, won’t hurt her, don’t you agree? He chuckled then, and it came out as a low rumble before it sounded like a laugh. He looked passed her to the trees beyond. Cliché was so close, yet so far away. And he was becoming impatient, he wanted to see her. He wanted to make sure she was okay.
One last question before I leave you be, m’lady. Have you any idea where my beloved cousin might be? He tilted his head. He was telling her the truth when it came to his cousin. He had no intent on hurting her. Why would he? What could he gain for losing the one wolf he adored in this life? No, it was not an incestuous love. He adored her as he would a sibling. Too bad his siblings had been little more than duds. Neither of them smart enough to have seen what was coming. Poor Illidan, his final moments of sheer terror as he realized he was to die. Sacrificed to the lands by his own brother who he had done so much grunt work for, the fool wasn’t meant to live. He’d have never made it this long without a pack. Malfurion was sure as hell not going to have helped him either. Illidan had a problem with slowing people down. He had never fallen for it though; he had all but gotten rid of Illidan when the time was right. And then, he had killed him. He could see his brother falling through the air to the fire below, the look of terror in the other wolf’s eyes. The whites of his eyes defined, as his face and fur became engulfed in flames. Just another pawn down, was how Malfurion had responded to it. When the Alphas died, he had felt they deserved it. They were weak, and ruled foolishly. They were not nobles, and they were not who he served. He would always serve himself. |

| Chiara gave the male a genuine smile, a rarity from herself and rose from a seated position. The wind had shifted and was now blowing against her back, it made her realize she had to report back to the pack soon and the sun above her meant it was nearly late afternoon. Malfurion spoke more, swearing himself to her and the pack, but something made her think that she held more allegiance in his mind then Teren, oh well nothing wrong with that as long as his acting skills didn't falter. Bringing her gaze back to the male she spoke again, "I accept your pledge, come Warrior Malfurion I shall take you to your new pack. I'm sure Cliche will be happy to see you. She has a family here you know, three pups and a fine mate who is our Eilte." She said, her voice hinting at something as she spoke of Tye's rank. She didn't doubt he would protect her sister lest Malfurion's intentions grew dark with her, but as he continued to speak of her that thought vanished from her mind.
She turned to leave, letting him follow if he so chose. She wouldn't deny him the pleasure of her company more for he intrigued her and she wished to know more about him. "I suggest you become aquianted with him or my mate Magnus for training. It may bring you up in rank in due time. I also urge you to make a good impression on our Alpha, but I'd brush up on your acting skills if you plans on giving him the same tear jerking story you gave me at first. He isn't a wolf to be messed with and I'd hate to see one of my allies die because of deceit." She warned, looking back over her shoulder at him. His last words about keeping their tellings private didn't surprise her. Nodding her head she smirked at him, "Tell her what Warrior?" She said innocently, batting her doe eyes at him before motioning for him to follow. "If I know your cousin she's in the healing den, as she's our lead healer, come I'll take you to her." She said, her paws then pushing off the trot towards her home land.
ooc-You need not reply to this post. You may now change your name to Warrior Malfurion and join "Erenyx" under the "ranks" tab at the top of the page to turn your name red. You can also post anywhere you like in Erenyx and the neutral lands. I do hope to rp with you again soon |
