| Hatred flooded the male's mind. He was abandoned, for the most part. It could partially be for the fact that he killed his members for their acts of conspiracy and ignorance to the matter at hand. His only truly trusted member had left him, his son. Of all the wolves he had lent a paw in raising, shaping to be a carbon copy of himself, none had surpassed his tests like the young Azrael. Teren walked through the river, cleaning his pelt of the last remaining ties to his pack. The waters were cold, almost close to freezing. His old coat fought against the dropping temperatures, but alas, he had to get out unless he wished to catch a sickness. When he was completely out, he shook his body from head to foot, shaking the excess water from his hide. Hazel hues of green and brown mixed together, staring off into the distance. Where would he go? There was nothing holding him back now. He could go where he pleased, when he pleased to do so. He was a lone wolf. Never in his life had he been a loner. Large paws moved about the forest floor, he watched as they sank into the ground ever so slightly. Dead leaves covered the area, lying there all cold and crunchy like. The male despised the cold. It was a cold killer, even more than Teren himself. How would this even be? The midnight brute decided it was high time to move from this particular spot, faster than before. It had been months since he gave his old bones a good run for freedom. Picking up his pace again, he charged ahead. His tail high over his spine, just as he did in the pack.
His pink tongue hung from his ajar jaws. He could feel the wind breezing through his fur, shifting and distorting it. He was free at last. A small scent trickled over his nose, toying with him. Teren came to a halt, sniffing out the creature. It was rather small in form and had very large feet. He could see the prints left behind in the moist dirt. Like a deranged hunter, the wolf slunk close to the ground, following the prey as it moved about the ground, unaware of the danger following closely behind. Saliva began to build within his maw, dripping from the sides. He hadn't had a nice meal in a very long time, too worried about fighting for his life and killing those who denied his way. As he approached the rabbit, he held his breath and walked ever so softly in the snow. He was careful not to scare the little bugger. When he was in close reach, he lunged his old bones and muscles forward, closing his massive jaws on the small creature, and shaking the life from its poor little body. When he heard the snap of the neck, the male dropped the kill to the floor. He tore into the flesh and ripped at the fresh meat before him.
Blood gushed into his mouth with each bite, reminding him of the murder of his old pack. He enjoyed every minute of those kills, even to the very end when he could barely fight any longer. Snapping back to reality, he ate until he was mostly full. The hare was not large enough to fill the large brute, but it was enough. Finally when he had finished, he started to clean his pelt. His fur looked darker than night in comparison to the snow around him. Finishing up his cleansing, he looked around the area. There was nothing special to this place, a lot of large trees he knew nothing of. But when he sniffed the area for any hint of where he was, he found himself in shock. The stench of a pack was deep and bright in this place. But it was not that which shocked him. As he sniffed more, containing more information from the woods themselves, this pack was small and the leader, weak more than likely. Containing a snarl, he closed his mouth. As he looked for more information, his nose informed him there were males within these boundaries, but they were not of high ranking. Only the Alpha male. Teren turned his back, thinking of looking for another pack instead. But as he looked to the open terrain, he decided he could be looking for miles and miles before he found an opportunity as such.
Settling for this pack, he placed his rump on the ground. He dipped back his head and let out an old and crackly howl. It rattled within his throat, fighting to expose itself for all its luster. Then as if a blockage was removed the old Alpha released a blood-curdling howl which could be heard for miles around. Birds flew from their trees, scared for their lives. Other forest creatures dashed off, deeper into the thicket. When he finished, he lowered his large head and stared into the direction the pack lived. With a sigh, he dropped his large body to the floor, resting his head on crossed front paws. Here he would wait for the... Alpha. |

| The autumn had come and presented itself with full force, showing the colors of the season. Orange, yellow, and red blanketed the floor, covering the dying grass and dried out bushes. The black male laid in the mouth of his den, staring to the outside world. He took a deep sigh and looked to the dens around him. Everything was silent and peaceful. Everything was perfect. He was content in the ways he had forced his life to be. He once fell in love with a wolf and paid for it dearly. He allowed his lineage to be continued, to spread the pack to grow and flourish, but even they were gone. All but one, Samael. He was the only one the male could really trust, of the males in his pack anyway. There were a few he could console his darkest things with, but they were of the female type. Could he truly trust a female? Perhaps all females were that way? He would never really know the truth, nor would any male for that matter. Females were always going to be untrustworthy. As he laid there, he stared to the dens, analyzing the work of their creators, wondering how things would be different had he never chosen to take a mate in the first place. He was curious to see how Erenyx would have been in that situation. His silver orbs looked and looked, but nothing changed inside the pack clearing. Perhaps the day was too early or the pack had been doing their own things. He did not care what the answer was, he was only concerned for one thing, but then, he didn't even know what he cared about. He had lost many things in life, and it appeared he would continue to do so. What would be the next thing for him to lose? While he was deep in thought, a loud and rusty sounding howl escaped from some wolf's lips. Startled by the action, the sound in itself, Steele stood to his four paws and stretched out his body.
Pushing off with his hind legs, the Alpha male made his way to the border where the other male was waiting. Steele moved through the brush and the leaves with speed, much faster than he had in a long time. The other wolf sounded to have a history, a powerful one from his sound alone. It was the call of an "alpha". When he approached the area of the guest, his nose flared, collecting the scents which thrived from the soul past his boundary. When he approached within inches from the other, he slowed to a walk. His ears were pinned forward, while his tail curled over his spine. His eyes stared at the figure before him, large and muscular. This creature, this monster, was larger than Steele himself. The male practically towered over him, more so than his previous Guardian, Nicolaus. Steele felt no fear when he stared into the soul-less eyes of emerald before him. He took a few moments to size up the wolf before him, judging him and plotting any ideas he would have to have in order to keep himself safe from this monster before him. The green eyes glared to him, right back from his silver stare. "So, elder wolf, what brings you to these borders? Shouldn't an elder wolf like you be looking for a place to curl up and die?" |

| Jade hues stared to the border, waiting and hoping a fae would not be the initial wolf to greet him. Faes did hold rank in his old pack, however, the thought of it made him sick to his stomach. He was patient, and would wait as long as it took. It did take quite a while. The old brute sighed as he thought about rolling onto his side. Before he could decide amongst himself, he saw a wolf enter his sight. He watched closely how the other approached him. The male which approached him, came off as the Alpha male of these lands. The world smelled like his putrid scent and forced the beast to snicker within his own being. Looking to the other, his eyes trained over the body of the 'Alpha male'. when the black wolf spoke, he gave him quite a laugh. But Teren did not laugh out loud, nor did he show his contempt for the other's position. Instead he kept his cool, and watched as the male patronized him for his age and appearance. Oh how this wolf would pay for the words of disrespect he spoke to Teren, the monster. But if Teren were to actually stand, he would tower over the male before him. He thought to himself for a moment, deciding what he would tell the questioning wolf. "I... The name is Teren. I am a monster and a form of which in the future, you might wish to respect instead of trying to downgrade the power that I have beneath my paws. I have done more in my years of life while you were suckling on the teets of your whore mother." Teren was not one to have a casual conversation with another, and if they wished to treat him as if he were nothing, then in return they would be nothing to him. As the brute moved his paws, he could feel the rush of anger surging through his form. His green orbs glared to the wolf before him. What would this 'Alpha' say to him? Before he would allow the other to speak, he stood tall and proud, holding his place and his head mighty over the other. "I have been an Alpha for many years, and after that, I served as an Elite. I may be old, but in my old age, as you call it, I am a beast, and I can kill you with a simple act of violence from my powerful jaws. Stand down Alpha and allow your new ruler to take this pack from nothing and make it great. If you stand down now, I will show you mercy and perhaps allow you to live." |

| Rage. Anger. Hatred. These feelings coursed through his body. His silver hues stared to the other wolf with disbelief. Was this truly happening in this moment? Was the old wolf coming for his position? Did he simply think that Steele would stand down and allow a useless old bag of bones to control the way things were? No. Steele would never just step aside and allow another to have what he worked so hard for. His eyes stared down the brute, even when he stood completely up on all fours. His tail hung high over his spine and the hairs along it started to rise and show their position. Steele meant business, the Alpha meant everything he spoke. "Stand down whelp. I do not care for your past, your present, or your future. I will not be backing down from what is mine. I will not move aside and let some scoundrel come to my lands and tell me how he plans to change my home. If there is something you truly want, then you will have to fight for it. If you do not wish to fight a wolf half your age, then I suggest you shut your mouth, turn around and go back to the hell you came from. You refer to yourself as a monster, but all I see is a trashed coat holding together a bunch of bones. You are nothing to the greatness of this pack. You are nothing compared to my achievements. You can consider yourself nothing at all. I am the ruler of these lands. I have slaved over my cause and forced myself to the most extensive work I have ever accomplished. I would rather be killed then just step aside and let a worm like you come and take what is mine." Steele breathed hard as he stared at the other wolf. His eyes flared with anger and hatred for the one called "Teren". If this old wolf wanted a fight, then he was going to pay for it. |

| Cackling, evil cackling, escaped from the larger males lips. His malevolent green hues stared to the brute before him, astounded by the words he spoke to him. "Pup, I am surprised by the words you choose to speak to me. It is your lack of experience which rears its ugly head in your place. You are not wise, you are not intelligent. for if you were of these things, then you would know better than to even think of challenging a seasoned veteran like myself. I have killed wolves for less than you are doing right now. I have been the Alpha to a powerful pack for too long to allow some worthless mutt think he can push me around because he pissed on some rocks or whatever. I will not allow a whelp like you to speak to me in such a manner, and if it's a fight you are wanting, then I shall be sure to make it your last. When I am done with you, you will be begging for your life, muttering crazy words the rest of your pack will be confused over. Your innards will be spread around the camp as a sign for any all not to mess with Teren. Your pack will be more accepting of one who will actually lead them, than one who just speaks empty threats in doing so. No more talking, now we fight!" He snarled as he sprung into an offensive stance. He allowed his full height to be seen and curled his tail in a dominant stance over his spine. Moving closer to the male, he charged into him. It was an attempt to shake the other, to frazzle his brain and force him to act without thinking. Teren had done this trick many times. He returned to his previous position, a small distance between the two males as they began to circle slowly. Each one trying to keep their back from the other. Teren made small steps, careful not to trip among his own paws or any stubble that might be along the forest floor. The monster wished to get inside his head, "they call me a monster for the fact that I am one. Have you ever forced your own pups to kill one another not less than a year after they witnessed the murder of their own mother by your own word? No? Didn't think so. You look like the type to allow your emotions to strangle you and actually love a bitch." He chuckled as they snarled to one another, his green eyes watched the other carefully. Finally, Teren had enough of the toying, the games.. He pressed his weight on his hind legs and bounded towards the other male. His jaws had been set for the neck of the other, but if Steele was cunning and clever enough, he might only braise the shoulder. ____________________________________ Attack: First he charged into Steele, and then he lunged, trying to strike his neck Defense: Keeping his body from the other, after his other attack, he has no defenses up Injuries: None yet |

| The first attack, Steele was not expecting. He had listened to the old wolf speak, his words fueling his anger in ways he did not even know he felt. His muscles clenched as he was shoved. He snarled and bared his teeth. "You bastard! How dare you say such things to me!" But before Steele could react to his words, or even attack for himself, he was attacked once more. Teren came for his throat, trying to catch his body, Steele moved out of the way. He took a deep breath as he felt teeth sliding in his shoulder. It scraped over his coat, forcing the flesh beneath to split and blood to leak out. Steele moved far from the other, separating them with a large amount of distance. His silver hues locked on to the green orbs across from him, waiting and prepared for anything. "You will not be getting what you came here for." Steele used this time to prepare himself, he rushed forward, charging for the male and hoping to grab hold of his flesh, to be able to rip it from his body. Steele was not a cannibal, but he would consume the flesh of this beast before him, just to prove that he is ready to keep his pack. He would lead Erenyx until his coat had flakes of grey and his body was breaking down into nothing. Now he was young and strong, passionate and determined. Nothing would stop him. He flexed his body, waiting for the recoil from the other. ____________________________________ Attack: Lunged for the throat Defense: Separated them, then taking a defensive stance after his possible attack Injuries: He has a wound in his left shoulder |

| [For the purpose of speeding this along, Teren and Steele get into a rigorous battle where it seems as though neither will win. In an attempt to finish the fight, Teren takes control over Steele. He pins him to the ground. Both are bleeding, though Steele is bleeding more than Teren. The two are soaked in each other's blood, but Teren has the upper paw. Grabbing Steele by the neck, Teren drags him into the pack lands. Both wolves are tired from their brawl, but Teren proves his abilities in the end.] |
