It All Started With A Flower [Marrok] Empty

The air blowing through and around the trees in gentle gusts of pressure were warm and welcoming beneath the sun's glorious, impatient rays of light. Many days had the lands been struck with strange cases of ups and downs with the weather, sending messages quickly to the pack's mind that the summer's climate was to be confusing more than it already was beginning to be. Fortunately for them, the crazed waves of heat they were experiencing was not striking the dry grasses, but their levels of water was evaporating before their very eyes. It was not hard to realize their amounts were decreasing, which made the pack thirsty and unusually desperate in the case of water. The ground beneath the shadow was hard and stiff, for the precipitation within the fluffed fogged shapes stretching apart the atmosphere were ridden with humidity. Only time would begin to tell whether or not they would over-come a drought, it was of the last things they would wish for in such a dire need of dehydration, especially with the information passing of the pack residing in the north has increased in numbers. Helidos was strong, but Erenyx was growing more and more it seemed with anger, the desire to ruthlessly battle against their enemies once the white of their eyes appeared within their sights, and their master would not object to it at all.

The enemy.

Envy was one of the last things the black superior would possess, for they were weak with passion known commonly as love. They would never feel those worked burning sensation like the Helidos, they were only monsters, that is, except the ones she knew in fact were no different then when they once ran along their own trusted side. It was sad to think how half of their pack had divided and paired with the no-good leaders, but the onyx figure knew not to judge for the friends she lost so long ago to the opposing Alpha. There was some gratitude in that situation, for she had recently discovered of Chiara's acceptance of her new home and that she was now living in serenity. That was all to what she could ever ask for, for her dearest friend. The thought sent a satisfied smile to mold upwards within her chapped lips, creasing her cheeks into a softly wrinkled and attractive expression as her emerald hues twinkled in harmony to nature's music. They glowed effortlessly and filtered to a yellowish lime as the sun peeked in back through the trees to shine upon down on the single wolf stalking amongst the peaceful forestry. If she hadn't of known any better, she would've believed herself to be almost godly, for her fur radiated a glistening bright and sleek ebony shine all along her toned figure and long legs to the very end of her tail. Her pink-black tongue slid over her mouth to dampen the flesh of her face from drying and burning so quickly, flicking her ears in a full-fledged rotation towards a mess of snapped sticks behind her. As she turned to look with curiosity towards the sounds, a single black spotted rabbit hopped out from the bushes with two other smaller ones to follow.

It was a clean, open chance for a meal, but the wolf remained quiet and lunged far from the sunlight back behind a tree before the lives scurried, watching the family move onwards quietly as if nothing were in their surroundings. As much as it urged her to go after the easy feast, she kept herself to stay put and watch the little ones follow the larger rabbit, seemingly to be their mother, she assumed. She smiled softly to the display and turned her back to head on where she wished to go, minding to herself to begin a slow, mild trot through the land as the thoughts of her own family began to surge within her mental cavities. Apollo and Ryland's sweet, young-adult faces smiling bright and playful yet determined as they were already filled with energy to practice more and more - and there another face neared into her view, his face perfectly edged and angled to define her beloved in one word; Marrok. His fur was patched with dark crimsons and swirled with even darker browns, sometimes blacks in certain amounts of lighting, but always his natural best. Even if he were filthy, drenched in water and mud, the female would still find him the most handsome brute of them all. It was almost as if she were able to be stuck inside the great memory of when it all began.

And suddenly, her destination then came into a vivid image.

Figures - ghost-like replicas of both younger versions of her mate and her roamed at the edge of the swamp's land neared to their murky dark brown waters. Moss of all colors; green, brown, ivy, lime and black practically blanketed the Earth whole. It was soft, and moist now to where she stepped closer. There was little light here, but enough to see some sparks of sunshine here and there to what wedged between the openings of the tree canopy far above her. The ghosts of her mind smiled and greeted each other awkwardly at first and then slowly began to unveil a feeling of friendliness. The Beta female walked slowly closer to where the images once stood, pressing her paws firmly into the exact position she made two and a half years ago when her mate and her first met. Her tail curled closely around her haunches before she lowered them safely to the ground, not a fear made towards the murkiness of the dark water's surface to make her shake like it had when she was a mere Warrior, a commoner. The younger Marrok was still fresh before her, smiling sheepishly at her and then sweeping away to find a single purple flower to what disappeared as soon as he began to put it behind her ear, the rest of the image during to dust, and then just the air to which she inhaled. The sweet residue it left on her mind was almost sickening, though she could not help but to drown in her own harmonious and lovely memories she had so long ago.

Time was moving so fast, it seemed.

Summer had been hard for the pack this year. The small creeks that outlined the clearing were slowly shriveling into small dents in the ground. The meadows, once filled with bright flowers now were brown, dry and a shadow of the beauty they once were. Even the lake's water levels were falling as one hot day rolled into the next. The hot weather took it's toll on prey as well, making them search elsewhere for shade and water, hence making Marrok search farther for them. Such was the case for the last two weeks as a trip for deer turned into getting stuck in a dust storm far away from the pack lands. Having only returned this morning the Beta wanted to check with his mate, whom he was sure wanted to know where he had been. Juno was a patient fae, but he knew these frequent hunting trips wore her down. It had been a long time since they had really spoken or just walked together, duties always manifested themselves to deprive them of one another. Not today though, no today he would make for her and do his chores later.

The wind picked up, making dust blast the sable male in the face. Blinking his eyes to rid his vision of the grit Marrok coughed, choking up black spit which fell into the parched ground. Even the swamp was running dry where it had once been waist deep. Such memories were in this swamp for it was here that he had first met Juno those two years ago. Smelling the air the faint but familiar scent of his beloved caught his attention, was she here looking for him? Smelling again he indeed recognized the scent as Juno's, this made his heart leap. Growing excited he looked around quickly, wanting to bring her something to make up for the agonizing time spent waiting for him.

There!

Leaping over to a shaded spot sat a patch of wet earth and a single growing plant. Atop the nest of green perched small purple flowers which he quickly nipped the largest off. This token was nearly the same as his first gift to her in his younger days. Now where a devilishly handsome face once stood a grey flaked muzzle sat. The brute felt slight aches on damp mornings and the promise of winter coming didn't set well with him, would he be strong enough to protect the pack and his family? Picking up the flower he decided to ignore those thoughts as he trotted on towards Juno's scent. Soon he turned a corner and saw his beautiful mate standing alone and forlorn. "Wuno?" He mumbled with his maw occupied. "I whissed you bo wush" he mumbled walking closer to her and extending his maw. Carefully he placed the flower to rest behind his ear and caught her fur in a nuzzle. "My love," he whispered, soaking in her scent and touch.

Her pupils dilated while it was sucked into the vast ocean of green as her name was requested. Before her head turned to see the wolf behind the attracting voice, though she already knew the male whom owned it, but the reason why he found her was what she didn't know. Rotating her ears skywards and around, she twisted in her position and soon then stood on all four paws, stretching her legs while the end of her tail twitched with the joy of his presence, "You came.." Her tone was sweet, and gentle as she spoke to him with a hint of surprise. Nearing forwards, she peered to the flower caught between his angled jaw and sharp teeth, her smile growing across her face until she dipped her face lower to hide a sheepish light in her eyes from him. Even today, he still could make her blush beneath her dark cheeks and provide an everlasting warmth in her heart, a chill to run through her blood that made her shiver every time she heard his name over and over in her mind. Her chest and limbs stiffened, locking in position as his snout brushed against her fur and hide the dainty flower behind her pointed ear. Juno's mouth parted into a large sharp smile before she returned her gaze to her mate as he nudged into her muzzle. "Oh Marrok.. It's beautiful.." She cooed into his opposing ear, caressing the end of her wet nose against his cheek before craning her neck over his shoulder in a short loving embrace.

A mild and muffled growl purred through her control and seeped passed her lips until it breathed down his fur. She made sure her mouth was just slightly teased near his ear as she whispered soft, kind things in it with a grin, "Could you be anymore of a gentlewolf?" She joked, basking in her love's undivided attention and freeing her nostrils to take in as much as possible of his scent to which also poured into her own. She would remember till the day she died along his side how he loved her, made her feel wanted and more, "You make me feel like I am the most luckiest fae in the whole world.. I've missed you so much, my love." The beta pair had been together for almost forever it seemed, in yet, the female had begun to convince herself that life was in fact short. There was going to be a time where they would no longer be here, and their young would be the one to carry on in their pawsteps. Time however had not been in their favor, and Juno craved every bit of Marrok he gave her the more the watch of time kept ticking on. It was not at all like they were before being promoted and the litter, now they were drawn apart for the duty of the pack, so all she could do was be happy in the moments they had, even if they were short. Fortunately, today was almost perfect now that the pack had been cleaned and tidied with responsibilities. She had him all to herself, and vice-versa.

Her eyes shut tightly as she pressed her face into the fur of his neck, sighing heavily until she lifted her head to stare up into his marvelous pair of amber stones, "I wish it could always be like this.."

Marrok sat them in an embrace for countless moments. Closing his dark amber eyes he left his sense focus on Juno's scent and touch. Sending shivers down his spine he pulled her into him, wrapping his paws around her and drawing her as close as possible to him. How he wished they could always be like this, carefree and pressed into each other. Just for a moment he forgot about the pack and his duties. He pushed aside his yearning to scratch his left year or that he needed to move that rock from his side of the den. No, all he thought about right now was how sweet Juno smelled and how much he loved her.

"I wish that too love" he said as he pulled back to look into her eyes just as she did. Her beautiful gems shined brightly before him and made him melt like always. Turning to mush he slid to the dirt and cuddled up under her, digging his head into her chest like a puppy. "We should do something, just the two of us. Anything you'd like to do just say the word." He said, wagging his tail loudly as it kicked up dust on the ground. Maybe they could go for a hunt or travel to some unknown part of the neutral lands. He was up for anything so long as it was with her.

This is gonna be short, sorry!

Adjacent to whom she loved, Juno helplessly basked in the moment shared, soaking beneath the sun that shown form above and all to which followed. At his response, her ears twitched along with her attention, fixating her pupils to dilate towards the brute before her. A smile crept at the corners of her maw to what he said, and silence washed over her before she could reply. Her body language gave off little notification to whether or not show she was thinking, feeling, or doing. She was always an indecisive fae, one to never specifically choose off the paw and bring it up, for she tended to switch her options most of the time. It was a terrible habit, though perhaps it could be of considering to break. "A stroll through the swamp would sound lovely.." She confessed, her tone sharp, yet soft in all the right ways possible.

"Summer has benefited us with an abundance of color. We should at least enjoy it while we still can this season, shall we?" The female wondered, her chin slightly cocking to the side as her expression twisted into that of curiosity. Bringing herself to her paws, she stretched, her glossy pelt dripping with fallen particles of dust and dirt that had clung to her fur in the time of her short rest. The flower remained still as it was tucked safely behind her ear, reminding her of so many memories, and much more to come. As she turned, she alined her body alongside his and moved closely to brush her fur into his, shoulder at most an inch apart from his, snout pointed straight, but her eyes peering to him.
